More MGK??
(A/N: I’m sorry this was so late! I hope you still enjoy it!)
There he was again, back in the same head space he tried to stay away from, a space he made just for the two of them. He was aimlessly scrolling through Instagram when he stumbled across a picture that stopped everything around him, leaving him in nothing but empty silence, there he was smile plastered across his face and his arms crossed over her shoulders, he remembered the memory like yesterday. He smiled allowing the same space to take his mind away.
He smelt the carnival popcorn, cotton candy and hotdogs “Come on Colson, it’ll be fun!” She exclaimed as she grabbed his hand gently ushering him through the crowd regardless of the stares and whispers around them. He hated going out with her, she deserved to be with someone that didn’t receive so much negative attention, she was too kind for that. “Colson Baker pay attention.” She teased as she poked his chest causing him to laugh as he shook his head “You’ve got all my attention baby girl.” He said grabbing her waist pulling her close to him as they rocked together in line.
More whispers, a few snide comments and nasty remarks that caused him to flinch and he knew she heard everyone of them but never did her smile falter, she paid them no mind look up at the night sky “See it’s beautiful skies like this that you could sing about.” she said mindlessly as he smiled all attention on her soft facial features “You know? I will.” He said kissing her forehead as she laughed, the line began to move rapidly until they were seated on the Ferris wheel, going up. “You know, there’s no easy way to say this Colson.” She started as his heart began to sink into his chest as he watched her with sad eyes, he knew it was too good to be true, it always was. “So I’m just gonna say it.” She said taking a deep breath, “I love you.” “You’re breaking up with me?” They said in unison causing an awkward silence.
It didn’t dawn on Colson what she said in that moment “You love me?” He asked shocked as she looked out the cart towards the fields “You don’t have to say it back, I just needed to get it off my chest.” She said shrugging as he shook his head taking her face in his hands as he placed a soft kiss on her lips “Damn, I love you too. I didn’t want to say it first and scare you away.” He said softly as she laughed “Couldn’t scare me even if you tried Baker.” She teased as he laughed “A picture or it never happened” he teased her famous phrase as she laughed taking out her phone and snapping a few pictures.
He smiled as he scrolled to the caption “Whoa, it's my husbands birthday. It doesn’t get any less weirder to say, can’t believe I married this dork. He’s out and about in different countries while me and Casie are chilling at home make different dishes each night, so who's really losing? Anyway; this was supposed to be about my husband. So happy birthday to my favorite person in the entire world! Pictures or it never happened right?” He laughed as he called her “Yes loser?” She said into the phone “God I love you. Have I ever told you how lucky I am?” He said causing her to laugh “Everyday baby. Now hurry home, you have a lot of dishes to try.” She said as he laughed “Of course Mrs. Baker.” He teased as she sighed “Goodbye Mr. Baker, me and Casie love you.” She said as he replied a quick ’I love you’ in return before putting the phone down and resting his head on the seat.
“An hour before were home free.” Slim said tapping Colson as he nodded “I can’t wait.” He said smiling with anticipation, he couldn’t wait to see his family.
A/N: Today I had to watch a sad ass documentary for class and now I’m all up in my feels :( On that note, I originally planned for this to be a 2 part series but I think it’s gonna end up being 3 parts filled with angst. Enjoy my angsty beans!

iamhalsey: It’s become very clear to me that some of you need to see what I’ve seen. Please swipe through this. These pictures and videos don’t even scratch the surface. It’s easy from the comfort of your home to watch looting and rioting on television and condone the violent measures being taken by forces. But what you don’t see is innocent peaceful protestors being shot at and tear gassed and physically assaulted relentlessly. You think it’s not happening, it’s only the “thugs” and the “riots”, right? The police are keeping you safe right? You’re wrong. This is happening everywhere. And innocent people exercising their rights to speech and assembly are facing violence and abuse of power. With all of our medical professionals being CONSUMED and EXHAUSTED with Covid, there is little to no medical attention available. I have first hand treated men women and children who have been shot in the chest, the face, the back. Some will lose vision some have lost fingers. I have been covered in innocent blood. My father is a black man. My mother is an EMT. This week I had to put those two associations together in ways that have horrified me. This is NOT a virtue signaling post. But I HAVE to show you what I am witnessing with my own eyes. With Trump’s decision today to enforce the mobilization of armed forces on our own citizens, this has escalated beyond your privilege and comfort to not care. Please care. We are begging you to care. This is war on Americans. This is everyone’s problem. Everyone’s. #BLACKLIVESMATTER
