AOT Headcanon: Reader X Reiner (touch of Armin X Reader)

Your family was wiped out in the attack on Maria, so you join the scouts to find a new home. You meet and fall for Reiner who falls for you. When you find out what his is and what he did, it breaks you. Armin begins to pick up the pieces.

> After Wall Maria fell you joined the military in order to survive. You were destroyed by the deaths of your whole family but we're determined to live on.

>Joining the 104th you met some odd people and became friends with them. But one person stood out to you, he was intimidating, but handsome. He was contradictory,  built like a wall, but was very nice. 

>You two grew closer when he helped you master 3dmg and you taught him self defense.

>"How can you do that?! You're like three feet tall and barely a 100lbs!"

"I was the little sister to five brothers. I had to throw punches to get a seat at dinner."

>He would notice you reluctance to talk of family, and didn't pry. But throughout the years of training you two got closer and closer, till one night you didn't show to dinner.

>"Hey you need your share of food. Sasha tried to steal it of course." He handed you the napkin wrapped plate and sat down, "Hey, you alright?"

"Five years. Lucas and Leon would have been 25 today, a month from now Marcel and Michael would have been 22 and two months after that, James would have been 15."

> He said nothing, what could he say?! Sorry you were born on an island full of devils? Sorry but my duty was to kill them? He never though he would feel guilty about his duty as a warrior, but now, seeing someone who was an angel in tears cause of his actions killed him.

>So he did the only thing he could, he pulled you unit his lap and hugged you as you sobbed. And silently prayed for you to forgive him for his actions.

>During Trost  he made sure you were far from the place he struck and he kept you as close as he could after Marco died. He needed you to be okay.

>He begged you to go to the Garrison or even MPs, but you chose the scouts with your friends and he swore to have your back. During the 57th expedition, you were assigned to the right wing and he almost shifted when he heard they were wiped out. He couldnt lose you, not to a bunch of titans. Not because of him.

>Seeing you again after he practically crushed you in his arms. Kissing your head and cheek before finally kissing your lips, which he was ecstatic you returned.

>"I was scared you were gone."

"And leave you hear? No offense to Bertholdt, but who would have your back then?"

>When Zeke showed, he knew his fantasy was up, he knew it was time to choose. But how could he? His family and duty or a woman who stole his heart? He made a split second choice and knew you may hate him for it, but he had to think of his family.

> "Y/N, I'm...sorry. I'm so sorry, but I had to protect my family." He said it really fast before he shoved you away and shifted, making a move for Eren.

>You saw before you the demon who stole your life, your brothers. And it was the man you were falling for?! You felt sick, angry, betrayed. But you also felt guilty and disgusted with yourself, though you never knew.

>No one could go after Eren it wasn't possible without horses and a lift. So it left you there to think and wallow in self pity and hate.

> Armin walked over to you and sat beside you, "No one knew. How could you? They played us."

> "He played with my emotions. And I let him. He murdered my family and then told me he loved me." He hugged you tight as you sobbed in anger and pain, "I want to hate him. I should...but it hurts."

>Armin was never a violent man, but seeing this, it made his blood boil on par with Eren's, but he kept his cool and calm voice, "I know, that's why, you need to sit this out. Please, your emotions are all over the place and you're not thinking straight. We can't lose you, I can't lose my friend."

> Heading out after them Armin made a silent vow, Reiner would bleed for making you cry like that. He had considered you a dear friend when you took the time to teach him how to properly defend himself. You never disrespected his views or dreams. Rather you encouraged it, even found his rambling amusing.

>You were someone dear to him and they would regret crossing him.
