[ anyway i don’t talk about sapphire enough so.
you’re challenged by trainer sapphire to a training battle ]
Oh he barely had the time to SAY IT! As soon as she was given the okay, she already opened the first dice roll app she could find and--
"Johto it isssss apparently.
Traditional towns, biiiig mountain, mysterious cave full of alphabet soup. Sounds right up your alley!"
Alright then. They were doing this. Against his better judgement perhaps, but sometimes, not listening to that little voice in his head that told him to do as he should, was a lot more fun.
"...Go on ahead! Let's see where we're travelling to!"
"Weeeeeelllllll, I've just been in Alola, but I wouldn't mind goin' back there.
I do have to beat my record for the volcano climb."
As always, she went for the oddest tourist traps and personal challenges. Sure, Mantine surfing and the Battle Tree were fun, but nobody could claim they climbed Wela's Volcano in 47 minutes and 18 seconds! Could be 46!
"But I heard that there's plenty to explore in Paldea. Something about special rocks that can change your Pokèmon Type, or something? Tera-whatever." a shrug "Sounds fun."
Oh if only finding a suitable replacement Gym Leader were that easy...
"It's not impossible, just... unlikely at the moment."
As to where they could go? There were so many places Steven wanted to explore and hadn't yet.
"You know me. I want to travel everywhere I can eventually. I haven't had the chance to properly visit Galar before, or Alola. A chance to visit Paldea outside of League work would be nice too... What about you? Where do you think we could go?"
--there we go.
"The same guy I defeated a handful of times already?"
Maybe a little bit of an exaggeration, but so far she was having way more luck in battle than him. Jorge was quick to jump on the side, hopping around the room and, most importantly, around both the Muk and its Trainer, almost trying to either distract them both or even make the Pokèmon hit Archie himself.
A trickster at heart, not unlike the little girl who just waltzed in an ecoterrorist group's base and started wrecking everything in her way.
"Psych up!", she chirps, the Sylveon stopping to charge up before restarting to hop around.
"Bwahaha!!"
More laughter echoes through the room as Archie plucks a Pokéball from the belt clip. He tosses it into the air, and out comes his Muk. An unpleasant aroma fills the air as the Pokémon cries out angrily.
"Wouldn't dare dissapoint now, would I? Who d'ya take me fer?"
A wave of his hand, and the Poison-type starts preparing a Sludge Wave to toss at the opposing Sylveon.
"Yeah we kinda take turns yeeeeah but he mostly has control over all that.
Think it's his turn now. Dunno. Haven't seen the League in like a year or something."
@whereskymeetsea
the ocean is still there dw
❝ is STEVEN back ? ❞
❝ always kinda wanted ta' battle him, but WALLACE was champion at th' time ... ❞
sapphire if youre water-coded why did you choose the fire type starter
"birb"
Ah, yes. His favorite guy, skipping work just like her. Classic.
"Eh, you know. The uuuusual.
Got to see Alola lately. That's nice."
AVOIDING THE SUBJECT, BABYGIRL?
"I'm doing as well as usual I suppose. The League's still holding itself together, so all is good."
Well as usual could mean anything coming from Steven. Usually it meant 'drowning in work but taking it all in my stride,' or 'avoiding league paperwork by going searching for rocks and good battles'. Either way he gave Sapphire a small smile.
"And how about you? Everything still holding together ok?"
