Every month I am reminded that underneath all the goofy hijinks and funny character interactions, TBHK is ultimately a story about loss, regret and most of all, love. It’s obvious when a major plot point revolves around romance but overall, it dissects all forms of love: platonic, familial, romantic and the self. It’s an examination on unhealthy relationships and the interpersonal issues that drive people to foster them in the first place. It’s a recital about grief and the struggle of knowing when to hold on and when to let go. It’s a timeless tale about the delicate balance of life and death, fate and choice, love and hate, etc. It’s a story about people trying their best to navigate their relationships. Each and every one of them. And I love TBHK so much for it

I am loving all the tragic irony of Montresor’s insults blowing back at him

-Monty forces Ada to bark like a dog -> he has to beg to Annabel in front of EVERYONE in their group

-He makes a comment about Lenore’s wheelchair-> now he’s in crutches with a broken leg

-Monty claims that Lenore would faint just from a broken leg -> literally passes out in the next episode yet again in front of EVERYONE

-And now after referring to Lenore as madwoman on multiple occasions -> Montresor is on the verge of a mental breakdown from “Will” dying and coming back and the only people who saw enough to believe him are the fucking Misfits WHO HE HAS GIVEN EVERY REASON HATE HIS GUTS

as you can see nene is holding the apple in her hands, while kou is about to bite into his own apple. and oh, what’s this?

an apple can mean temptation? and death? so again, kou is about to bite into the apple. i think this might represent kou dying to be with mitsuba. we’ve already seen him frickin jumping out a window for mitsuba, and yeah he didn’t die but i think it still counts for something!!!

now for nene she might die or she might live, me i’m teetering on her living. she’s holding the apple in her hands, which i’m interpreting as her contemplating whether or not to bite into it.

nene has sort of accepted her faith. yeah, she doesn’t want to die but if it happens it happens. on the contrary though, hanako wants her to live.
