The triumphant goodmorning tale of ME versus the extra sleep trap. After over a week of shameful losses I finally won today!

I really want a movie where there’s this Dark Brooding Male Hero who’s like, a total badass, and during all the fight scenes he keeps getting flashbacks to happy images of his wife, and like his whole narrative is framed around his wife, and all the other heroes on his team know that he’s got this passion and vengeance and think it all has to do with his dead wife… but then near the end of the movie his wife shows up and he’s like “hey babe” they’re all shocked and they’re like, “Wait I thought all your power and passion came from avenging your dead wife?” and he’s like “no bro, I just really love my wife, she’s really cool, she’s what keeps me going” like… a reverse fridge

Now that his saga has come to a close with How to Train Your Dragon 3, I gotta give appreciation to Toothless being one of my most favorite characters of all. It was love at first sight when I saw the original movie in theaters in 2010. I love characters who have strong personalities and definable traits without needing language, and Toothless is one of the best examples of this: his expressions, movements, all the little nuances in his growls and gazes and subtle body gestures - honestly, sometimes it’s hard to believe he’s not a real animal. The folks at Dreamworks did amazing work giving him such realistic creature qualities, and the amount of animation detail in the texture of his scales, the depth of his eyes, and just everything about him is full of the wonder and cuteness of any real animal. Although his story is finished, I’ll never get tired of seeings his adorable mug~!

I’m so glad my favorite boy got to end his journey on a high note. It’s been a great 9 years of following his development and I look forward to watching his movies again and again!

Morning Today

I enjoy silent early mornings. My cat is begging for my attention as of right now, nudging my arm, my leg, my shoulder - wherever he can reach, in all honesty. I have a fresh cup of coffee, it’s dark and silent. Just me and my thoughts, for at least another half hour. I can prepare for the world by myself right now, I can ready my thoughts to face the day. 

When my guardian wakes up, my coffee will either be cold or gone, and I will be in my room where she can’t see me. I enjoy being solitary in the mornings. The sound of coffee brewing, school buses stopping on my street to pick up silent kids, my own keyboard clacking away. It’s a comfort, this soft silence, the stillness of this morning. 

I hope that my day is good, that the rest of it reflects how peaceful and nice this moment is. I have taken my medicine, all that’s left is to get dressed, and brush my teeth. An easy feat, that I will soon accomplish - right after my coffee.
