i have this thing in my head when it comes to creating art for fandoms and it's like a need for everything to be as canon as possible, I need them to speak EXACTLY like how they would in the actual show/game/etc.

so imagine the complete disarray I am in now that I'm into comics where any comic writer can write a character however way they want...

I genuinely don't know what people mean when they say that someone is "out of character" in a certain comic, because I have no idea what's IN character for them...is there an original comic where everyone's personalities are set in stone and every other comic is trying to replicate it that I just don't know about 😵‍💫
