I think I finally understand the meme “community” now. We’re all different people; different levels of screwed over, different backgrounds. But I feel as though we all have the same thing in common: we just want to make people laugh. Even if it’s with our edgy, satirical BS.
Humour is really all some of us have, y’know? Memes are really nothing to take seriously at all. But, like, why do some of us invest so much time into it? These inside jokes that are plastered all over every meme page/blog/site on most social media outlets sort of instill this sense of mutual understanding with one another.
It resembles the feeling when someone shares the same sense of humour as you. It’s much easier to become friends with them then. I think that behind every “Edgy Memelord”is just a lonely kid that wants a friend to laugh with. And what better way to find a mate than within a community based on jokes and shitty humour?
