This is frustrating.
I love the comparison, but I hate how they are comparing.
They are acting like she is using optics to give herself an advantage. But the device she is wearing is just for comfort and essentially does the same thing as closing one eye and squinting the other.
The little thing over the left eye is basically like an eye patch.
And the thing over her right eye is a mechanical iris, like in a camera lens, but it is NOT a lens.
Different lighting environments are going to be brighter or darker and you may have to squint more or less to let in the same amount of light into your eye. Squinting allows the shooter to get the sharpest possible vision in order to shoot a bullseye the size of a 12-point Times New Roman period.
But if you have to squint for hours for practice and in competition, this can strain your face muscles and become uncomfortable. So this iris basically squints for you.
It's more like wearing comfortable shoes so your feet do not hurt than a lens magnifying the target and giving an advantage.
Both athletes have access to these items. One felt more comfortable without them. The other didn't feel like getting a muscle cramp from squinting all day.
Either would have shot the same if they had or had not used these devices.
Just a funny difference in gear preference.
I should also add, the Turkish dad is the only one using lenses.

My name is Amira, I am 23 years old, and this is my story, filled with challenges and pain💔.
Four years ago, I lost my father and became responsible for my family. I took on the responsibility of caring for my sick mother and siblings, working hard as a university assistant and a programmer in a company. I was building my future step by step, enduring all the hardships 💙.
But the war turned my life upside down. I lost my home, my job, my university, and everything I worked for. We were displaced seven times in search of safety, and each time we hoped to find a better place. We are currently in Al-Zawayda, living in a school for displaced people, and we face harsh conditions every day😥.
This is a glimpse of our daily suffering, as we lack the most basic necessities of life. Every day, we face challenges that turn survival into a constant struggle in unforgiving conditions😓.
The accumulated waste around our area poses a serious health hazard, polluting the air and spreading diseases that have affected us all. Both our children and the elderly suffer from illnesses due to this ongoing pollution, in a situation that threatens our lives and health every day💔.
My heart longs for family gatherings, and I feel nostalgic for the moments we used to spend together. Now, we are separated between the north and the south, and we haven't seen each other for ten months😥.
I miss every corner of my room, which was my safe haven. Those corners hold my memories and reflect my peace, and I yearn to return to them🧡.
I also miss my working life, which, despite being exhausting, gave my life meaning and purpose. I miss the days of work and the effort I used to put in 💚.
And I long for the feeling of success and pride that filled me after achieving my goals in my studies and work. These memories of my accomplishments remind me of the joy of success💜.
I live every day amidst challenges, trying to stay strong despite all the difficulties. I try to be the support for my family, providing them with basic needs despite the scarcity of resources. And despite everything, I still believe that tomorrow will be better🤲🏽.
I need your help. You can support us by donating and sharing the campaign link. Your support could save an entire family from death and give us hope in these difficult times. Thank you for your support and care🙏💜.

I like how you don't mention how she made policies to keep non violent drug users out of jail and helped lots of people.
This is America, that seat will get filled. Would you rather it be a Republican because everyone left of center detests the job itself?
still always so wild that her own supporters get mad at leftists for calling her a cop because they know we mean it in a derogatory way but she's spent her entire campaign establishing that she's a cop with a gun running against a criminal felon
Unironically, it's not Bioessentialism, it's basic Sociology.
"it's bioessentialist to joke about male loneliness" IT'S BIOESSENTIALIST TO THINK THERE'S A MALE AND FEMALE VERSION OF LONELINESS...
Firstly, the church claims that SRS is equivalent to castration, which in biblical times would turn someone into a eunuch. Yes there are Levitical laws against this (and against eunuchs entering the temple), but lets see what ELSE the bible has to say on the issue.
Isaiah 56:4-5 “For this is what the Lord says: “To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths,/ who choose what pleases me/ and hold fast to my covenant—/to them I will give within my temple and its walls/ a memorial and a name/ better than sons and daughters;/ I will give them an everlasting name/ that will endure forever.”
It seems almost as if those just people who human beings condemn will be rewarded!
Now is the issue of God creating us male or female, and God doesn’t make mistakes. First of all, we are created (known) by God before conception.
Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
Look! When God forms His plan for us, he does not pay much attention to the womb, he pays attention to our purpose. In fact, it is often through our struggles that God reveals to us our purposes.
Exodus 4:10 “Moses said to the LORD, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue."”
Luke 1:7 “ But they were childless because Elizabeth was not able to conceive, and they were both very old.”
Moses and Elizabeth both had purposes that directly contradicted their bodies! It is obvious that these problems caused them great shame and sadness, yet through God’s will they overcame their struggles, were transformed, and became tools of the Lord!
Who are we, mere humans, to say that God’s Law is greater than his Will? Look! The Blessed Mother conceived of a Child before marriage to Joseph! Will you call God a sinner for breaking the rules he himself established?
And as for the Law, let’s read a very important teaching by Christ on how to follow it correctly:
Mark 3:4 “Then he turned to his critics and asked, “Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?” But they wouldn’t answer him.”
(I use the verses from the NIV throughout this post, but for Mark 3:4 I’ve chosen to use the NLT. “…or is it a day for doing evil?”, the wording used in the NLT, really captures the hypocrisy of the lovers of law. Imagine! The day the Lord set apart being used as a day for evil!)
It is easy to see that when following the law brings evil into the world, it is unlawful. Even the devil can quote scripture (see: the Temptation of Christ), which is why we have our consciences.
Jeremiah 31:33-34 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord.“I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts.I will be their God,and they will be my people. No longer will they teach their neighbor,or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’because they will all know me,from the least of them to the greatest,”
Does it not hurt you when you insult and degrade a trans person? This is how you can know that transphobia is NOT permitted by God. In fact, it breaks the law of the New Covenant, set by Jesus Christ himself.
John 13:34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
When you make transphobic comments and attacks, when you don’t welcome trans people into your churches or homes, are you loving as Jesus did? Are you loving that trans person so much that you would lay down your life for them, that you would bear the burden and guilt of each and every one of their sins?
1 Corinthians 13:4 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”
Obviously not. And furthermore, what do we know about hating others in the name of God?
1 John 2:9-11 “Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness. Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble. But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.”
When a person has gender dysphoria, it is because God has a plan for them that involves transition. When you are transphobic, you commit blasphemy against God’s will, as well as break the covenant of Jesus Christ.
So to any and all transphobic Christians, I repeat the words of Jesus Christ to you:
Repent and believe in the Gospel! Do not judge, or you yourself will be judged! Love both your brother and your enemy!
You've been too analytic. Your sentence will be fake feminists sending you death threats.
Something I've noticed within progressive circles is a sort of pseudo-tolerance of men's issues to appear nicer. I'm not referring to the treatment of domestic abuse, body shaming, or sexual assault because I've accepted that progressives will never meaningfully care about these issues regarding men in my lifetime.
I'm referring to venting/sharing your feelings. Even in its presentation, it wasn't really that genuine to me. "Women like guys who talk about their feelings." Like, don't vent because it's good for your wellbeing, do it because OTHERS want you to! Add in the pop-psychology idea that a man venting anything to anyone but a therapist is problematic and traumadumping, and you get a contradictory and confusing stew.
Oh, and if you share how badly sharing your feelings has gone, you'll just be victim-blamed or told to man up and get over it, but wokely. Even really GOOD male-focused feminist spaces end up presenting mental health as something you should ultimately be doing for others and not yourself. Not to mention, there's just a lack of acceptance that maybe some progressive people are still uncomfortable due to that whole "being raised in the patriarchy" thing.
The issue is a loop. It all just leaves me feeling a bit lost and hopeless.
