😨😭
Sonya Massey was a paranoid-schizophrenic woman who turned to the police when she was scared and suspected an intruder inside of her home; she was a Black, mentally ill, woman shot dead and executed by a white police officer solely because she said "I rebuke you" over a pot of water. she was DUCKING DOWN behind a counter repeating the words "I'm sorry" as he advanced and, eventually, killed her. Sean Grayson, a white police officer, executed her.
her name was Sonya Massey. she was a human being who deserved to live. say her fucking name. Sonya Massey.
edit: please do not erase or negate the fact that Sonya was schizophrenic. Black schizophrenic people are more likely to die at the hands of the police as well as be brutalised by them, and by negating the fact that she was schizophrenic, you are erasing that this was an execution fuelled by BOTH racism & saneism. please have some respect and continue to say her name, thank you.
We need to bring more attention to a pressing matter. Since 2015, Officers have fatally shot and killed over 135 unarmed black people. Nearly every officer was white.
6 years ago, in 2018, 22 year old Stephon Clark was shot at more than 20 times. He was a Sacramento, California resident who grew up and lived there. He would be 28 this year.
He was in his grandmothers backyard, holding a mobile phone. Officers claimed that they believed the phone was a gun; A weak excuse.
His life was cut short on March 18, 2018, during late afternoon; before dusk. He had 2 kids. He was hit by 7 bullets. The officers shot to kill, not to disarm.
Terrence Mercadel and Jared Robinet faced no criminal charges. He was wrongfully killed by them. In 2019, Clark's family reached a settlement of $2.4m.
Say their names. Yell it. Sonya Massey and Stephon Clark, and every single wrongfully killed black person out there.
Say their fucking names.

Oh no, you met William IRL.
What do you do?
I would do either:
A. Stare at him in shock and confused
B. Cry my eyes out and attempt to talk to him
C. Run the other way
This is way too cute to miss or even not reblog. 🥹🤌🫶
They're so cute I would die for them 😭♥️♥️♥️ (this is also a redraw of someone else's fanart, I couldn't find the artist tagged anywhere but I'm 90% sure it was someone on Twitter bc I think I recognize the art style)
I'm bored so random question of the day: You're stuck with the Moriarty brothers from Moriarty the Patriot. Your reaction? Me personally, it's either going to be: A. Go silent and do my own thing, leave them alone
B. Cry and try to find a way out
C. Talk to them but be really cautious and nervous.
there is a huge difference between criticizing an institution and criticizing individual behavior. i can criticize the makeup industry without criticizing the 14 year old girl who uses concealer because she’s self-conscious about her acne; i can criticize the plastic surgery industry without vilifying the woman who decided to get a nose job after two decades of pointed comments and bullying. it is intellectually dishonest to respond to an institutional criticism as if it were a personal attack; on the flip side, it is cruel and unnecessary to leverage personal attacks in the name of institutional criticism
if i see one (1) more person respond to a perfectly reasonable beauty-industry-critical sentiment with “but i personally enjoy eyeshadow. why are you attacking people who like eyeshadow :(” or “exactly, all women who wear makeup are miserable and brainwashed” i am going to climb a tree and bite the top of it
reblog this post to remind the person you reblogged it from that they’re valued and loved and seen
