hi there, I love the blog! I realize this is a super weird and specific question but is there any media out there which depicts creatures or entities that resonate stronly with you as being analogous to the Fae Folk despite not actually being meant to represent them? sorry if that's confusing!!

It is a bit strange, and quite specific, but I believe I understand what you're asking, and I actually think it's a pretty neat question. So many possibilities flow through my head that it's very hard for me to pin any one of them down, though, so I think I'll just mention the first thing that came to mind.

There is an anime called Mushishi I watched once upon a time, which essentially follows a sort of wandering Faery Doctor through the wilds of 19th century Japan as he finds and helps people with his skills. In this story, the spirits are called "Mushi", and one who deals with them is called a "Mushishi" (hence the title.) There definitely aren't any references to the Fair Folk as they are known through a European lens, but I remember thinking that the spirirts being dealt with by the protagonist felt more accurately akin to the Fae and their nature than the majority of the media I've seen referencing Them.

I've had this idea for a while, of Zagreus corrupted and enslaved by Chronos being someone Mel has to fight. It was pure coincidence that I started actually drawing the idea just in time for the Olympus update to come out (which has no Zag for those waiting for the final release).

Zag is not a willing servant, he's been torn apart and reconstructed and forced to do Chronos' will. This is only possible bc Chronos flooded the Styx with his sand. Each time Zag was killed, he came back with more of Chronos' sand holding him together. Renewal of the Styx and time spent with/inside Nyx will reverse the corruption of his body, but not the time he spent suffering Chronos' conditioning.
