Ehhhhh I had an idea that’s probably unoriginal but I haven’t seen it yet so imma just talk about it. Basically an AU where everything changes cause the ninja didn’t take in Lloyd after he and Pythor were defeated on the roof of Darkleys. He was just left there, all alone, on top of a building, as he watched the ninja leave on the Destiny’s Bounty. Of course this would result in a complete butterfly effect, causing multiple story aspects to shift around in canon, such as Garmadon never returning to Ninjago to save Lloyd since Lloyd would have learned his lesson to stay away from snakes on his own, Lloyd continuing to live off the streets being a mediocre ‘villain’, different villains appearing in different orders. And of course ultimately the green ninja never being revealed.
Instead of finding out he’s the green ninja Lloyd would continue his acts as a ‘villain’. I see him acting as a sort of side villain/sidekick to other main villains throughout the series, though none of them would take him seriously. He’s just a sad homeless kid, hating the ninja for years of humiliation. Hating the world for the cruelty they give him.
I think I’ll call this the Butterfly Effect AU. The smallest change in the past could result in the greatest change in the future. A small change like this would completely change how Lloyd would view the ninja, how he would view his family, how he would view his own worth. I’ve had this idea in my mind for quite a while now and I really wanted to share it with everyone to see how others think of it.
I DIDN’T KNOW I NEEDED THIS AU UNTIL NOW
What if the pilots and Season 1-3 never happened and they all met later at the Tournament of Elements. Hometown Glory AU
Kai has no interest in any of this elemental powers nonsense, fully committed to following his fathers footsteps and running Four weapons on his own. He’s content to toss their invitations to the mysterious Tournament of Elements the moment they arrive, but Nya has always wanted more… and when the opportunity comes, she’s on the first bus out of Ignacia, chasing her destiny. Where Nya goes, Kai is bound to chase after.
After running away from home, Cole meets a kid named Jay and starts working at his familys junkyard for a place to stay. Eventually, the Walkers all but adopt him and he’s a member of the family… He and Jay discover their elemental powers together, and when the invitations for the Tournament of Elements show up, they’re eager to test their limits.
Falcon still finds Zane, leading him back to Birchwood Forest and revealing to him the truth about who and what he is. With his memories restored, Zane becomes a wanderer, visiting all sorts of different places seeking all the information he can get his hands on about his Seer abilities, the Elemental Masters, Ninjago history, and a certain prophecy of the Green Ninja… He sees his invitation to the Tournament as the chance to finally unite with the people he’s supposed to save the world with.
Lloyd has been kept in the dark most of his life, he knows next to nothing about his family and his powers, and his Uncle refuses to tell him anything until he’s older. When the invitation arrives in the mail, Lloyd realizes Chen and Clouse knew his father, and they’re his only hope to understand any of this… But getting to the island means slipping into old habits and sneaking out behind Uncle Wu’s back.
This was the Ninjago Crews way of saying goodbye to a beloved member of their team. Tommy did say they changed and shifted things in order to honor him, I do believe this was what he was talking about.
RIP Kirby Morrow, even months later it still feels unreal that this is the last season we will ever hear your voice give life to Cole after 10 years.
Y'all what did we do to deserve Ninjago? Sure, the writing falters at times, but Lego has somehow given us lovable characters, a lore that can be inconsistent we can do so much with, fucking awesome music, people working on the show that tries to be active with their fans, and most of all the fact that this show has been running for nearly a decade with no sign on stopping.
Like... I will die for this show, its characters, and most of all this fandom. While we're not immune to controversy, for the most part we try to be accepting of each other, and I've met a countless amount of good friends within this fandom.
And I haven't even begun to talk about the fan works. The art people have been able to create absolutely rocks, the fics I read are absolutely compelling and some of the most creative things I've ever seen, and the many other mediums I've seen in this fandom continue to blow me away.
We aren't the biggest fanbase, and honestly that's alright because the people I've met here, I might have never had a chance to interact with if we were any bigger. Happy Valentine's Day, Ninjago fandom, I wish you guys the best, and I love y'all.
Also Nya Ninjago I would die for you
