Decided to post my brainrot/self-indulgent quick prompt on how the LIs handle MC's period... because, well, I’m dealing with the emotional rollercoaster myself right now...
After a long day at work, you step outside, only to find him waiting for you. Confused, you approach, wondering why he’s here, and he studies you intently before checking his phone.
It’s the first day of your period.
Xavier brightens (not literally) the moment he sees you.
“Hey. How was work? Are you feeling okay?”
You tilt your head, confused by his sudden concern. Before you can ask, Xavier glances at his phone, scrolling for a moment before looking back at you with a sheepish smile.
“It’s, uh… that time of the month, right?” His voice is gentle, almost hesitant. “I just wanted to check if you needed anything.”
Without waiting for an answer, he pulls a small bag from behind him. Inside are your favorite comfort snacks, a fluffy heat pack, and a bottle of warm tea.
“I wasn’t sure what would help, so I got a little bit of everything.” He rubs the back of his neck, eyes full of warmth. “And, uh… if you need distractions, I found a cute cat café nearby. Thought it might help.”
His concern is pure and unassuming, and he’s not teasing, not overbearing, just genuinely wanting to make you feel better.
Zayne watches you closely, scanning your face for any sign of discomfort. When you look at him confused, he sighs, as if expecting this reaction.
“You tend to forget to take care of yourself,” he murmurs, unlocking his phone and glancing at his notes. “It’s the first day of your period.”
You initially assumed it was just a regular stomach ache.
“You usually get cramps around this time. Have you eaten?” He states it like a fact, like something he’s committed to memory as part of his duty to take care of you.
Before you can even respond, he pulls a small bag from behind him—inside are heat patches, painkillers, and your favorite snacks.
“I don’t want you passing out on the way home,” Zayne says, voice gentle. “Come on, I’ll take you back.”
He doesn’t make a big deal of it. He just makes sure you’re taken care of. Because, to him, that’s what love is.
Rafayel doesn’t waste time with pleasantries. As soon as you approach, he checks his phone before speaking.
“You’re late.”
You blinked in confusion. “Late for what?”
He looks at you, unimpressed. “To take care of yourself, obviously.”
Without another word, he hands you a neatly packed bag. Inside is a precise selection of herbal teas, pain relief patches, and a carefully balanced meal.
“I researched the best remedies,” he states matter-of-factly. “And that is you should rely on me more.”
Well… it’s the closest thing to an admission that he worries about you... very much.
Sylus grins the moment you spot him.
“Took you long enough.” He lifts his phone, scrolling lazily before stopping. “Looks like I got the timing just right.”
You frown. “Timing for what?”
He slings an arm over your shoulders, walking you toward his parked motorcycle. “For me to kidnap you. Thought I’d save you from work misery and get you some comfort food.”
You halted him with a frown, and he released you.
“Don’t give me that look. I’m a very attentive man.” He crosses his arms, tilting his head. “You always get extra grumpy around this time, so I figured I’d do something about it.”
“I'm not grumpy—” Your words were cut off as he gently patted your head.
“I got a whole day planned… comfort food, bad movies, and all the attention you can handle.”
Before you can protest, he grabs the helmet and secures it on you, his usual cocky smirk softening just a bit.
“Don’t argue, sweetie—just let me spoil you today.”
He might play it cool, but the fact that he remembered your cycle down to the day? That says more than his words ever could.
Caleb holds up his phone, wiggling it between his fingers like it’s some grand reveal.
“Today’s a special day.”
You just stare at him, then he leans in closer, voice dropping into a whisper.
“Pipsqueak, don’t tell me you forgot again.”
You looked confused as he let out a low chuckle.
“Your period started, didn’t it?” His teasing grin widens when you gaped at him. “What, don’t look at me like that. I keep track of the important things.”
He tucks his phone away and steps closer, his hand ghosting over your lower back.
“I was wondering if you’d need me to carry you home. Or…” He leans in, lips just by your ear. “...if you’d rather be pampered in bed.”
You gave him a quick smack on the arm, earning a chuckle from him. Then, he ruffles your hair before slipping a warm drink into your hands.
“Drink up. I can’t have you suffering on my watch.”
Hope you all like it, and maybe it helps a bit with period stress and discomfort too! Which one do you like most, and why? Let me know!

Xavier's wrapped his muscular arm around you and he helped you as you limped forward. Every step felt like another slash to your thigh and you whimpered out. You jumped in front of Xavier without any hesitation; he was distracted. He didn’t see the sharp weapon coming. You on the other hand did. You saw it coming, and jumped in front of him like a fool. Dizziness surrounded your vision, and you exhaled shakily as dark spots danced around your vision. You collapsed to the ground and felt Xavier's arms around you. He pressed his pretty hand firmly against your plush and bloody thigh and you cried out in pain as you tried to shove him off. Xavier's hand tightened and tears began rolling down your face. You knew that he was just stopping the bleeding, but in your woozy mind it was the biggest betrayal. Xavier yelled something into his phone , which you couldn’t understand. He gripped your face tightly and gently smacked against your cheeks, but you didn’t respond. You just smiled and you took in his features.
His usual soft expression was sour. He breathed heavily, causing his chest to heave quickly. Xaviers sky blue eyes were dark and wet, his nosrils flaring with every shaky inhale. His mouth was pulled into a frown and formed words you couldn't hear before your eyes rolled backwards and you slumped back.
When you woke up again, you laid in a white hospital bed. The pungent odor of disinfectant invaded your nostrils and a soft beep sounded through the room. Your looked around in confusion and followed the tubes going in and out of your body. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw messy blonde hair slumped on your hand. Xavier. His face was buried in your palm.
You called out his name and Xavier immediately jumped out of his seat. His hands were trembling and his mouth was slight agape. His clothes were messy and dark purple crescents grazed his undereye. Xavier opened his mouth but the words were stuck in his throat. Not even a single squeak could be heard.
"Xavier?", you croaked out carefully and watched his expression. He looked down to the floor when silent sobs raked through his body. Your eyes widened and your heart squeezed painfully. Xavier’s lip trembled and tears rolled down his face. He furrowed his eyebrows and his trembling lips were pulled into a deep frown.
“Why did you do it?“, he asked you quietly.
You looked at him and before you could respond Xavier walked towards you in quick and heavy strides. He firmly grasped your shoulders and very gently shook you.
“I asked you something. Why would you do that?“, Xavier spat out. “Never do that again. I could never live with myself if you.. Oh god, please. Please, please, please. Don’t ever do that again. Not for me, not for anybody else. Okay? Please.“ Xavier’s angry voice turned into one of pure despair and his hands left your shoulders. He grabbed your hands with trembling hands. His long and slender fingers wrapped around your soft ones as he buried his face in your hands. You let him cry his heart out.
Your leg will recover form this injury. However, the image of you laying in a pool of your own blood will never leave Xavier’s mind. You jumping in front of him because of his own incompetence. Its unacceptable. The memories haunted his deepest nightmares and he‘d never forgive himself for it.
• during remission, Xavier treated you like a doll. He didn’t mean to, he really didn’t but he couldn’t help it. You’re so precious to him and he almost lost you. He was very gentle and loving with you (not that he wasn’t loving before) and he helped you wash yourself. It was a bit difficult for you to take care of yourself because of your leg, but Xavier will be there every step of the way. Sometimes, he laid awake at night and couldn’t stop replaying the scene of you getting hurt. The absolute despair and fear he felt at the thought of losing you. He’d stroke your cheek and cuddle your round body into his. Sometimes he’d even shed a fear tears.
You didn't even know how it happened. One minute you and Zayne were fighting side by side against the wanderers and in the next, the wall next to Zayne collapsed. Your heart dropped to your stomach and everything around you seemed to slow down. The debris fell too quickly for you to call out to Zayne and warn him, so you ran without any hesitation. Everything that happened after was just a mere blur. You pushed him out of the way and felt as if a million sledgehammers landed on top of you before you were out like a light. The last thing you heard was Zayne yelling out your name.
You woke up with a violent throb in your head. It felt like somebody was splitting your head into two pieces and the blinding light didn't help at all. You looked down and found yourself in a clean bed. Your eyes popped up and saw Zayne's broad back. His white button- up was crumpled and his sleeves were rolled up unevenly, which exposed his scarred forearms. Zayne's dark hair was tussled and he was checking the scans of your body. You moved and a sharp pain shot through your head and through the right side of your body. You winced sharply and exhaled shakingly.
Zayne's body froze; his scarred hand hovered over the scan and his shoulders tensed. Yet, he remained still and didn't turn around. You both just sat in silence for a few seconds until you called out to him.
"Zayne?", your voice was very raspy.
He exhaled softly and turned around to face you. He looked like hell. His eyes were bloodshot and he had deep eyebags under his eyes. A few parts of his body were covered in bandages and plasters. Zayne took a few shaky steps toward you, but then stopped dead in his tracks and cleared his throat.
"You-", his voice cracked and his lip trembled. He looked down to the ground and closed his eyes. Zayne clenched his jaw and exhaled deeply. He looked up again and his expression was emotionless.
"You are severely concussed and have suffered some fractures. Your remission will take a few months, but you will heal. The fight ended well. The wanderers were taken care of, and nobody else was hurt." Zayne explained monotonely, his gaze focused on your medical records.
"Alright", you responded raspily and you winced at the pain in your head.
"I've given you painkillers just before you woke up, they should kick in soon." He responded in the same soft and monotone tone and you sighed. "Zayne, are you okay?"
"Don't ever do that again."
You blinked up at him in confusion and he finally looked up from the records. Ice crystals formed around his neck and he stared intently at you. You're beginning to miss the time where he wouldn't look at you.
"What? You mean save you? Of course I would do it-"
"Baby, please." He begged. A few unintended sobs bubbled out of his chest and his shoulders shook as he continued to cry silently. He buried his face in his hands as his shoulders kept heaving.
You stared in shock. You've never seen him cry, especially this hard. Even when he was sad, he usually kept his icy facade up.
"If it ever comes down to it, please, please, just let me die. Don't ever make me live through that fear again. Please. I can't take it. When I had to remove all the debris from you, not knowing whether you're alive. No, just don't." Zayne replied, his voice was almost completely gone and the tears had dried on his face.
You slowly sat up and ignored the throb in your head. Zayne watched you and helped you up. You opened up your arms for him and Zayne immediately buried himself in your plush chest as your thick arms engulfed him. He cried silently into your chest and you ran your fingers through his dark hair.
"I'm sorry, shh. I'm really sorry."
• during remission: he'll of course be your doctor (let's not talk about the ethics of that) and take care of your healing process. He'll supervise your every move almost obsessively. Zayne will be extremely strict regarding the process and won't give into your cute little faces. Not this time. He'll wash and massage your pretty round body for you almost daily. Once you start feeling better, he'll punish you during sex. It'll be deep and intimate. You scared the absolute shit out of him and he needs you to never do that again.
You laid on the ground with a deep burning sensation across your chest. What just happened? You were fighting with Rafayel and then..
The painful sensation in your chest doubled and you whimpered out in agony. Your head turned to the side and you saw Rafayel fighting with vehement vigor. His moves were aggresssive and powerful as ripped the wanderers apart. After he finished them off, he ran in your direction.
"No,no,no. No, youre okay. Fuck! You're okay.“ He pressed his hand against your ample torso and agony ripped through you. You screamed out in pain and immediately tried squirming away, but you were unable to do so. Tears ran down Rafayel's face, but he pressed down further and ignored your screams. He held his phone to his ear and called somebody for help, but you couldn't be bothered to listen further. You focused on Rafayel's hand, though; Rafayel's hand, which pressed down on your chest earlier was extremely bloody and you stared at it in shock.
Rafayel followed you gaze and shook his head. "You're totally fine. The paramedics are coming, okay? They'll be here soon. Just stay awake, stay awake for me. Cutie, please."
You nodded and widened your eyes. Rafayel nodded and pressed his lips to your forehead. "Perfect. Just like that. Just stay awake with me and then when the paramdedic come, we'll just go home. Fuck." His voice broke at the end and you nodded. You widened your eyes yet again and ignored the pain in your chest. "You shouldn't have done it. It would've just hit my side. I would've been fine." Rafayel gritted out.
"It’s my job as your Miss bodyguard, isn’t it?", you asked weakly. The pain in your chest was thankfully dissappearing, but so was your of the awareness of everything around you. Rafayel's eyes snapped to you and his jaw dropped. His face was pale as he stammered out. "No. No, I didn't want-".
Sirens blared in the background and Rafayel was ripped out of his thoughts and exhaled shakingly. "Thank God. We're okay, alright? Just hold on for a bit longer, we'll be okay soon. Please."
Your eyes started to close. "No! No, its okay! They're almost here. Please, stay awake." He cried out as you lost your consciousness.
You woke in the hospital room and saw Rafayel by your side. Around your chest were bandages. You winced out and Rafayel's eyes snapped to you. He smiled softly and stroked your cheek. "Hi, cutie. How are you doing? The doctor said it'll leave a nasty scar, but remission will be a breeze."
You smiled at him. "I'm okay, and you?"
Rafayel looked straight ahead for a few seconds before looking back at you with a weak smile. He held up a thumb and you chuckled drily. "If I knew I could get you to shut up, I would've ended up in the hospital sooner." Rafayel exhaled through his nose but remained quiet otherwise. His shoulders dropped and he looked down to the ground. He looked utterly defeated and you could not take it.
"Rafayel-", he interrupted you quietly.
"You're fired." Rafayel leaned over and set his chin down on the back of his hands.
You raised an eyebrow at him, but he stayed quiet throughout. You rubbed his back and he closed his eyes. "I didn't tell you to be my bodyguard, so that you could go ahead and sacrifice yourself for me. I hired you so that you would be around me, not so that you can die a morons death." He mumbled, his voice soft.
You wanted to reply sarcastically or say something that'll make him laugh, but you just couldn't.
"Rafayel, I'd do it aga-", Rafayel interrupted you while shaking his head. His face was adorned by a soft and genuine smile. "I know you would, but this will never happen again. I won't allow it. I won't even allow the opportunity to arise. Don't worry. I'll make sure it won't happen again."
• during remission, he'll slowly start behaving like his normal self again. He'll be fun and will make you laugh, but he was so very deeply affected by the situation. He'll be more aggressive towards potential threats and doesn't allow you to defend yourself. It'll take some time for him to let you do any dangerous activities (if ever), but you both slowly heal. He buys you beautiful flowy gowns and clothes that don't rub against your scar, and he will paint your new body in ever single position you could think of. He quite literally worships you; feeding you while you're propped somewhere comfortable, rubbing oil on your scar and other parts of your rounded body.
You woke up and saw Sylus‘ furious face above you. Your ears were ringing and your shoulder felt like it was on fire. Sylus‘ clenched his jaw and yelled something to somebody on the other side of the room. You couldn’t hear it, though. You couldn’t hear anything due to the ringing in your ears. You remember what happened now. Sylus talked to some of his “business partners“ and they turned out to be rats. They pulled the gun on him faster than Sylus could pull out his own. He was caught off guard- once. He was careless one time. And you jumped in front of him when they pulled the trigger.
The metallic taste of blood hit you and you felt something pour out of your mouth. You looked up at Sylus in confusion, his chest heaved quickly and he furrowed his eyebrows. His eyes were wide and his mouth slightly agape. He looked.. scared. Sylus has never looked scared before.
You lost consciousness and woke up in Sylus‘ room. You were bandaged properly and wore clean oversized clothes. You had an IV- injection and looked around the room.
Sylus sat on his black couch with a glass of wine in his hand. He quietly drank it and looked out of his window. You smiled fondly and called out his name, your voice husky.
His head turned to yours and he smiled softly. It didn’t reach his eyes. He stood up and slowly walked over to you. His evol slowly engulfed you. It felt firm on your un-injured parts and gentle on your chest and shoulder area. He looked down on you with an unreadable expression.
“What happened?“, you asked him and tried to wiggle your feet. Everything seemed normal.
Sylus hummed softly, his husky voice low. “You took a bullet for me and I killed the attackers. I was careless. That won‘t happen again. A doctor patched you up and that’s it.“
You raised an eyebrow at his abrasive tone and he raised an eyebrow at you. His face was expressionless and he leaned down to your ear. He kissed the shell of your ear and gripped your cheeks between his large hands. His grip was firm and he gently turned your face towards him.
“Don’t ever play the hero again. Recklessness is stupid. And you’re not stupid. You’re clever. Don’t do it again- I‘m serious. Not for anyone else, and especially not for somebody like me.“
“Sylus, I love you. You would do the same for me and-“
“Yes. Yes I would, in fact. So let me repeat this again.“ Sylus leaned back toward your ear and whispered in it. “If you do that again, I’ll kill a person. Your noble sacrifice will have been for nothing. And if you happen to die during one of your heroic missions, you can’t even begin to imagine the damage I would do to the world. And you can trust me on that.“
You gulped and looked at him. Your heart raced and the monitor beeped. Sylus immediately relaxed his face and sighed. He leaned forward and tenderly kissed your temple. His lips stayed there for a long time and you blinked up at him.
He stroked your cheek and kissed you softly.
“Asshole“, you mumbled and Sylus chuckled against your cheek. The vibrations made you smile and Sylus put his hand on your plush stomach.
“You really, really scared me.“ Sylus mumbled softly.
“Sorry“, you replied and Sylus helped you sit up.
• during remission: Sylus will service you in any way he can. He‘ll cook for you, bathe you. He’ll buy you any instrument that you may need for physical therapy and will do all of your exercises with you. Will not get upset at all if you snap at him when you’re in pain. He‘ll massage your scars and will offer sexual remedies. Though, he will never be this careless again. The memories of you laying in your own pool of blood will haunt him til he dies.
You were pretty confused. Yesterday, you and Caleb fought side by side against criminals. They were vicious and dangerous, but Caleb and you were managing well. Well, until you jumped in front of Caleb and got flung against the wall in his stead. Your back took the brunt of it and you were out like a light immediately. When you woke up yesterday evening, they told you that the damage was minor. Your back was extremely badly bruised, but it could’ve turned out so much worse, so you were very happy. The reason why you were confused was why Caleb wouldn’t show up. It was after- visiting hours yesterday after your surgery, so that wasn’t all to surprising, but he didn’t visit you today either.
You were being released today and walked out of the hospital. You sighed and saw a a tall man in a familiar uniform waiting in front of the hospital. Caleb stood in front of you in his colonel uniform. His face was emotionless and he looked at you from the top of your head to your shoes.
“Caleb, Hi.“ You greeted in confusion.
“Are you okay?“, he asked monotonely and you raised your eyebrows and nodded. He sniffed and nodded. Caleb bent down and took your bag and started walking.
“Okay..“, you replied in confusion and trailed after him.
You reached the car and he put the seatbelt on you and drove the two of you home. He still hadn’t said anything and stared at the road. When the two of you reached his house, he helped you up the stairs. His hand wrapped firmly around your wrist and he slowly led you over to the bed.
“Okay, do you wanna tell me what’s going on with you or should we just pretend that everything is normal?“
You sat on the edge of the bed and sighed. Caleb stood in front of you and clenched his jaw. He looked down at the ground with tight fists and his lips wobbled. Your eyes softened and Caleb fell to his knees. Tears streamed down his face and he pressed his face into the plush of your thighs. He sobbed his heart out as his shoulders shook. You gently stroked over his scalp and let him cry.
“Don‘t you ever fucking do that again. It doesn’t matter if it happens to me, but it can’t happen to you- it just can’t. Fuck. There’s no me without you. Just kill me if you had to choose between the two of cause I’d follow you anyways. Please just don’t-“, you interrupted his rambling and cupped his cheeks. He cried and leaned into your touch like a puppy and you stroked away the tears under his eyes.
“I‘m okay, it’s just a bruise. A big one, but just a bruise nonetheless.
Caleb sniffed and wiped his tears. He looked up at you and took of your shirt. Caleb slowly rose and walked over to face your back. He let out a scoff and you looked at him. His eyes were laser focused on your injury and he didn’t say anything for a few minutes until he pulled out his phone. He took a picture of your back and then gently nudged you until you laid on your stomach.
“I have something to do, but I’ll be back right after. Do you need food? Painkillers? Do you need to pee?“, he asked and you sighed.
“You‘re leaving again? You already weren’t there yesterday.“ The words tumbled out before you could stop them and his breath hitched.
“The only reason why I wasn’t there is because of the same reason now. I swear to you on everything that I’ll be back after this. I’m so sorry that you were alone today.“
You nodded in agreement and he leaned over and tenderly kissed the rolls of your back. “Get some sleep. I’ll take care of the rest when I get back.“
Caleb reached his work building and walked quickly through his office and saw the criminals from yesterday. They got away after he heard the crack of your body against the wall. Caleb shook himself out of that nightmarish scenario and looked at the beaten and bloody criminals in front of him. It took the entire day, but he finally found them. Their lair wasn’t as well hidden as they’d hoped. He crossed his arms over his chest and pulled out his phone. He opened up the gallery to reveal the picture he took of your injury and he showed it to them.
“Remember that? Cause I do.“
Caleb stared at the picture until he memorised every single detail of it and and put it back in his pocket.
“I remember every single thing about it.“ Caleb tilted his head to the side and used his evol to apply pressure on their backs. The criminals started screaming and Caleb smiled. He needed to hurry up, you already felt neglected by him.
When Caleb made his way home after he finished up his business, he found you in the same position he had left you in. Your injury was still exposed and he stared at it. This was his fault. His shame and his burden to bare.
“Caleb?“
“Yes, pipsqueak?“
“I think I was wrong. I do need your help to pee.“
He chuckled softly and helped you sit up. He gently grabbed your hands and led you to the bathroom.
-during remission: pretty much nothing changes. He‘ll still do most of the chores around the house (because he wants to do them) and will feed you, cook for you, bathe you, and do the laundry. He‘ll never tell you about what he did to those men and you never ask him. Some nights the memories of your bruised body keep him awake, though. On these nights he‘ll want to bury himself in your ample chest and never leave.
Hello, hi! Sorry for my bad english.
Can I request Jealous!MC where there’s a new colleague whom everyone respects (lets say shes only in Linkon for a week for a short mission) but MC sees how that colleague lowkey and subtly flirts with Xavier? (y’know how guys can be dense at times)
he sets boundaries though, it’s just “colleague” tries to push her luck— for the ending m not so sure, how about Xavier catches on and bluntly turns her down and makes it up for MC? :3
thank you!!!!!! you r very talented🫶🫶🫶
PAIRING: Xavier x mc!reader
SYNOPSIS: Watching your new coworker grow a little too familiar with your boyfriend sent a sharp, unwelcome heat curling in your chest—an emotion you’d never dare to name, let alone admit.
A/N: Thank you for the request. I twisted it a little, so hope you won't mind. I'm not really good at writing jealousy-related stuff, but I hope I'll get better with time!! Hope you enjoy!
Xavier - your sweet, devoted lover. A man of quiet strength and effortless charm, wrapped in an air of aloof detachment that only made people want to be closer to him.
Somehow, despite his reserved nature, he had a gravitational pull. Perhaps it was his unshaken confidence, the way he moved with the quiet assurance of a skilled hunter who had nothing to prove. Or maybe it was that face—carved with sharp angles and softened by golden strands that always seemed to fall just right. Whatever the reason, people wanted him close.
You never minded. In fact, you were proud. Admired, respected—a man like that was yours, after all. And Xavier was never one to indulge in unnecessary conversations or fleeting acquaintances. His world was small, intimate, built on a foundation of loyalty and shared trust. You had never been given a reason to worry.
Until now.
Standing next to Tara, your stomach twisted as your gaze locked onto the scene unfolding across the room.
A woman—tall, poised, exuding an effortless confidence—stood by Xavier’s desk, leaning in just enough to blur the lines between casual and intentional. She had the look of someone who had never been denied, her gaze slow and deliberate as it traced the sharp lines of his face before slipping lower, taking in every inch of him like he was something to be appraised.
Like he was something to be claimed.
Your jaw tightened.
She wasn’t subtle. Her eyes lingered, drinking him in like a fine wine, her expression betraying nothing but intrigue and unspoken intent. If you didn’t know any better, you would have mistaken her for a predator, circling its prey with the patience of something that had never known hunger.
“Who the hell is that?” Tara’s voice was low, hushed, but tinged with the same disbelief you felt.
You didn’t answer. You didn’t have to.
“She’s the hunter Jenna assigned for the new mission,” Simone’s voice cut in, her sudden presence making you jolt. “They say she’s one of the best in the field.”
Your lips parted slightly. “The captain of the aviation department?”
Simone nodded, watching your expression carefully.
She was young for such a high-ranking position, but that wasn’t what unsettled you. What unsettled you was the way she carried herself—like she already knew the outcome of a game you hadn’t even realized you were playing.
And the worst part? Xavier seemed oblivious.
His responses were polite, clipped, maintaining the professionalism expected of him when speaking to a superior. He didn’t return her lingering gaze, didn’t acknowledge the subtle shifts in her tone, the way her lips curved when he spoke.
And yet, it still made your blood simmer.
You hated it—the feeling curling in your chest, the way it coiled around your ribs like something dark and unspoken. You didn’t want to name it. Didn’t want to admit that, for the first time, you felt something dangerously close to threatened.
It wasn’t that you didn’t trust Xavier. Quite the opposite.
It was her.
"She’s supposed to be here for a week or so,” Simone added, eyeing you warily as if she had just glimpsed a side of you she wasn’t quite sure how to handle.
Tara shot her a nervous glance. You didn’t miss the way they exchanged looks, as if silently agreeing that this was unfamiliar territory—you were unfamiliar territory.
Finally, your feet moved before your mind had time to catch up.
You wove through the room with careful, measured steps, every movement precise, controlled. By the time you reached Xavier’s side, you had already tucked away the wildfire burning beneath your skin, smoothing out the edges of your expression into something unreadable.
Xavier turned at your approach, and in an instant, everything about him changed.
His guarded expression softened, his posture easing as that rare, genuine smile tugged at the corners of his lips. Warm. Familiar. Yours.
The woman noticed.
“Ah, Y/N.” Her voice was smooth, practiced. She straightened slightly, taking you in with an unreadable gaze. “I’ve heard about you.”
Your eyes met hers, searching, assessing.
“All good things, I hope?” Your words were polite, but there was something beneath them—something carefully measured, just shy of warning.
She didn’t answer. Not really. Instead, a slow smirk curled at her lips, her amusement flickering like the first embers of a fire.
She turned back to Xavier, dismissing you entirely.
“Well, Xavier,” she mused, her voice taking on a honeyed lilt, “I hope you’ll consider my proposition.”
And then she walked away, hips swaying just enough to make her intentions clear.
Your fingers curled at your sides.
“What was that about?” You turned to Xavier, making no effort to hide the edge in your voice.
He blinked, glancing between you and the retreating figure. “…She wanted to meet up to discuss something about the mission.”
Casual. Dismissive. Utterly oblivious.
Xavier reached for your hand, his thumb brushing over your skin in that familiar, grounding way. It was instinctive, absentminded, as if he had done it a thousand times before and would do it a thousand times again.
It was enough to ease some of the tension in your shoulders. Almost.
Because while you trusted Xavier implicitly, one thing was certain:
You were not about to let someone like her think she had a chance.
And with the welcome party set for later that week—a gathering meant to formally introduce the aviation captain to the association - it was the perfect moment to make sure she knows he's yours.
Yes. This was going to be fun.
...
Having heard about the party, you weren’t about to let the opportunity slip through your fingers. This was your chance to ensure the captain understood something crystal clear—Xavier was not, and never would be, one of her playthings.
With Tara and Simone’s help, you looked nothing short of lethal. Your makeup was flawless, enhancing every sharp edge and soft curve of your features, making you appear both untouchable and irresistibly tempting. Your hair was styled to perfection, cascading in a way that made you feel like a walking temptation, and your skin glowed with the scent of the perfume Xavier adored—the one that always seemed to awaken something predatory in him, darkening his gaze whenever you wore it.
And the pièce de résistance? A dress—the dress. Baby blue, the color of summer skies and lingering daydreams. It clung in all the right places, teasing with just enough skin to drive anyone who laid eyes on you to the brink of madness, yet leaving enough to the imagination to make them crave more. You knew the effect it had on Xavier. Knew the way his eyes darkened, how his hands twitched as if resisting the urge to pull you close and claim you on the spot.
And tonight, you planned on making sure everyone knew it too.
You had chosen to surprise him, arriving separately so he wouldn’t have a chance to drag you back to the safety of his arms before you had even stepped through the door.
The club was dimly lit, pulsing with the deep bass of music that thrummed beneath your skin. The scent of alcohol, expensive cologne, and faint traces of smoke clung to the air, mixing with the hum of conversation. Association members littered the room, some drinking, others caught in quiet discussions about missions and assignments.
And then you saw him.
Xavier was easy to spot—even in a crowded room, he stood out like something carved from myths, his golden hair catching the glow of the overhead lights. Dressed in his usual understated yet effortlessly attractive manner, he leaned against the bar, engaged in polite conversation.
But then his eyes found yours.
For a moment, he stilled.
And then—oh.
It was subtle at first. The slight parting of his lips, the way his grip on his drink tightened ever so slightly. His gaze dragged over you, slow and deliberate, before snapping back to your face, sharp and hungry. If he had been holding a conversation, you wouldn’t have known—it was as if the world had ceased to exist around him, leaving only you.
Your lips curled into a knowing smile as you strode toward him, reveling in the way his pupils dilated, his usual composure slipping for just a fraction of a second.
You were used to catching Xavier’s attention. But tonight? Tonight, he was absolutely enthralled.
And of course—your lovely new colleague took notice.
She had dressed for the occasion as well, a deep crimson gown hugging her form, exuding confidence. Perhaps she had the same plan you did—to steal Xavier’s attention, to lure him in with beauty and presence.
But she had made one miscalculation.
Xavier’s attention wasn’t hers to steal.
You reached him just as she did, her voice silky as she tilted her head, a charming smile gracing her lips. “Xavier, I must say, you clean up well.”
Xavier, who had just barely managed to tear his gaze from you, turned toward her with his usual polite indifference. “Thank you, Captain.”
She placed a hand on the bar beside him, inching just a little too close, feigning casual conversation. “You know, I never did get a proper answer about my earlier proposal. A meeting—just the two of us. I think we could make an excellent team.”
Your blood simmered. The sheer audacity.
But before you could even open your mouth, Xavier did something that made your heart skip a beat.
He stepped back. Just enough to create space, his movements smooth yet unmistakably intentional.
“I appreciate the offer,” he said, voice calm but firm, “but I’ll have to decline. I don’t mix work with anything that could be… misinterpreted.”
The captain faltered for a fraction of a second, clearly not expecting such a direct rejection.
Still, she recovered quickly, letting out a light laugh, as if amused rather than deterred. “Oh? And here I thought you’d at least consider it.”
Xavier’s gaze flickered toward you then—brief, knowing, filled with something warm and unshaken. And then, with the faintest hint of amusement lacing his voice, he spoke again.
“There’s nothing to consider.”
The words were final. A dismissal. A line drawn in stone.
The captain seemed to realize that any further attempts would be futile. With one last lingering glance, she lifted her drink to her lips, her expression unreadable, before turning away and disappearing into the crowd.
You exhaled, finally allowing yourself to breathe.
And then—Xavier’s hand was on your waist, his grip firm as he pulled you flush against him.
“Enjoying yourself?” His voice was low, edged with something darker, something teasing.
You tilted your head up at him, pretending to consider. “Hmm. Maybe. Though, I was a little concerned for a second there.”
Xavier’s lips twitched, his free hand tracing idle circles against your lower back. “Oh?”
You smirked, eyes gleaming with something playful. “I mean, she’s confident, gorgeous, highly respected—”
Xavier cut you off with a quiet scoff, his thumb brushing over the exposed skin of your waist. “So are you.”
Your laughter was soft, but before you could say anything more, he leaned down, his lips ghosting just below your ear.
“I only see you,” he murmured. “I only want you.”
A slow shiver ran down your spine.
You turned to face him fully then, hands resting against his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath your fingers. “Good.”
He smirked. “Good?”
You leaned in, your lips just barely brushing his before whispering, “Because you’re mine.”
Xavier’s breath hitched—just barely, just enough for you to catch it—before he let out a quiet chuckle, pressing his forehead against yours.
“Yeah,” he murmured. “I am.”
And with that, he kissed you—slow and deep, in a way that left no room for doubt.
A statement. A promise.
And a reminder to anyone who had dared to think otherwise.
SLEEPLESS NIGHTS AND KISSES
warning(s) mention of insomnia, comfort, established relationship, pet names, food/eating, physical touch and affection
synopsis xavier gets a call from you in the middle of the night. you have a last minute sleepover to help soothe nerves and connect more with your silver-haired lover! . ⟡ authors note a request from @sadfragilegirl hope you enjoy and sorry for the long wait! ⟡
the relationship between you and xavier was a new thing; a bit awkward and fidgety in the beginning, but blossoming and soft. you were used to his distinct smell of lavender and fresh laundry drifting through your apartment, the twinkle of his blue eyes, and his soft laugh that spread sparks of warmth through your body.
tonight, you were missing his presence. your apartment felt foreign and the silence all too loud. you bit your lip in the darkness of your room, finger hovering over the call button of his contact. you both had just finished a hard mission earlier today and decided to part ways for the night to rest and recuperate.
but the spot beside you in the bed felt too cold, empty of his long limbs and soothing voice lulling you to sleep. now, that sleep refused to come, and you tossed and turned until you finally bit the bullet and pressed call.
“what’s wrong?” his voice, still thick with sleep, immediately answered the phone. you could distinctly hear the rustle of linen bedsheets shift as he sat up, patiently waiting for your response.
you chewed your lip before answering, embarrassed beyond belief and nervous that you completely interrupted his rest. “I…well, I can’t sleep. was wondering if you could come over tonight—?”
you waited with bated breath, heart beating in your chest as there was a pause. then, “I’m heading over now. want me to bring some snacks?” you didn’t even have to respond— you heard the rustle of your favorite chips he kept stocked in his kitchen, making you giggle softly.
“see you soon, xavi.”
“I’ll be over soon.”
you occupied yourself with tidying up a bit before his arrival, setting comfy blankets and pillows onto the couch. you both loved soft mood lighting, no glaring overhead lighting to be seen, so you even lit a few candles around the surfaces of your apartment.
soon, you heard the distinct rap of your boyfriend at the door. you couldn't help a little thrill buzz through you in anticipation, quickly padding to the door and opening it with a flourish.
there stood your loverboy in fluffy checkered pajama pants and a plain white shirt, still rubbing sleep from his hazy blue eyes. his arms were wrapped around a bag of chips and a blanket.
you grinned up at him and a loopy smile greeted you back, as you then pulled him into the apartment with a click of the door. “y'know I gave you a key so you could come in yourself,” you teased lightly, watching as xavier dumped the assortment of objects onto the dining room table before turning back to you.
“I know. but still…” he murmured back, still wiping at his eyes before wrapping his arms around you for a hug. you greatly accepted it, immediately feeling better with his arms around you.
“I didn’t disturb you— did I?” you whispered after a beat, still a bit nervous at disturbing your cat-like boyfriend from his slumber.
in response, you felt the chuckle rumble through his chest before you heard it. his arms pulled you impossibly closer and lithe fingers soothed down your waist.
“silly, of course not. I missed you too, it was hard to sleep in my bed.” he confessed easily, patting your head affectionately when you pulled away to glance up at him. love is what you found in his eyes, steady and pure and adoring.
“so what should we do first?” he mused, yawning into your ear and practically leaning his full body weight onto you. you fought a dopey smile from breaking across your face, enamored by his relaxed aura he openly showed to you.
“skincare!” you clapped your hands together, startling him a bit as you pulled him to the bathroom. you pushed a pink my melody headband onto his head, securing his silver locks back. you fitted a kuromi one onto your head as he stared into the mirror.
“why do I get the pink one?” he questioned after a beat.
“because you’re adorable and cute, just like my melody.” you answered smoothly, grinning through the mirror as xavier’s cheeks immediately blushed a light pink. he rubbed the back of his neck as you laughed, setting the various bottles and ointment on the sink. he followed your instructions slowly, until you both walked out with matching hello kitty face masks.
“xavi, look over here!” you hummed excitedly. when he glanced over, you quickly whipped out your phone and took a picture with lightning quick reflexes.
he let out a startled gasp, playfully reaching for your phone as you laughed and twisted away from him. “hey!”
“now all our coworkers will know how cute you are at home. not the stuck-up they think, huh?” you purred, smiling as xavier groaned and slumped onto you again. you stumbled for a second under his weight, laughing once you realized this was another one of his tactics to get you to hand over the condemning evidence.
“I’m just joking. I have to keep your cute side all to myself,” you pouted, setting the picture as his contact photo instead. “this’ll do.”
xavier perked back up at that, but not before pinching your cheek as a warning. “‘m a little hungry. let’s make some cookies?” the silver-haired boy piped up, pulling you into the kitchen as you nodded eagerly. there was no way you were going to turn down his chocolate chip cookies— you had quickly realized that he was an astounding cook, able to make most anything from scratch, and his cookies were the best.
you hummed out a soft alexa, play favorite comfort song as you both maneuvered around each other. naturally, you found yourself sitting on the countertop watching as his distinct silver-hair moved back and forth. light conversation easily flowed between you both, and all you could feel was peace.
soon xavier came over to you, slotting between your legs and holding a finished cookie to your lips in a silent request. you obediently bit down, chocolate warmth and a nutty goodness spreading throughout your tastebuds. xavier’s eyes twinkled at your satisfactory hum of approval, popping the rest of the cookie into his mouth.
after removing the face masks and setting the cookies on a plate to cool, you both ended up wrapped in a shared blanket on the couch. a movie cut down on low played quietly in the background as you snuggled up closer to xavier’s distinct warmth.
“thank you for coming over,” you whispered up at him. he hummed back softly, setting his chin on your head as he gazed down at you.
twinkling eyes met you back. “of course. anytime you need me, I’ll be here. now let’s get some sleep.”
and sleep came easy again.

woke up with a headache today, which wasn't fun, and had these ideas of how the lads boys would react if their love was suffering through a migraine. I get them a lot and I know people who get them even worse than me. anyways, this is the first time writing for some of these guys, so I hope they're not too ooc lol
It was a quiet day at work, one mainly just in the office, which you were grateful for. Only a couple minutes after you clocked in, you began to feel the dull pounding of a headache coming on. It hadn't been anything too bad at first. You took some painkillers to see if it would go away. But now, as you were staring at your computer screen, the headache wasn't going away but getting worse. It was beginning to feel like a heavy hammer was drumming on top of your skull in a dull, rhythmic motion. The pills weren't helping at all.
Then it happened. As you squinted at the blurry words on your screen, sudden bright lights flashed in your eyes. You looked away from the computer, tried to blink a couple of times, but they persisted, and the pain got worse. All you could do was hunch over your desk with your eyes squeezed shut.
"Hey, you okay?"
Xavier's soft, baritone voice came up beside you. You squinted up to see him standing there in his Hunter's uniform, watching you with obvious concern. You would usually shrug off the pain, say it's nothing, but not this time.
"Migraine." Is all you managed to get out. You held your head in your hands.
"Hm."
You glanced up at what seemed like a noncommittal response from him, only to see him walking away and towards the Captain's office. A few minutes later, he came back and laid a hand on your shoulder.
"I got the okay from the Captain. Come on, let me take you home."
"You didn't have to do that. I was gonna get up and ask in a minute..." you muttered, even though you felt relief wash over you. No matter how much you wanted to act tough, you knew you were no good to anyone with this migraine.
"It's fine. Besides, I know how bad your migraines can get. Here, let me help you."
He gently took hold of your hand to help you up. You were going to tell him you could walk by yourself when a wave of dizziness hit you. Fortunately, Xavier was there with a supportive hand on your back to make sure you didn't stumble.
"I'm right here. I won't let you fall."
The two of you left the Hunter's Association building and headed to the station. It was a sunny day out, which didn't help the throbbing pain in your head. You couldn't help but let out a quiet groan and placed your hand over your eyes.
"Here. Wear these." Xavier gently removed your hand and placed sunglasses over your eyes. With an arm around your waist, he led you to the station gate and got your card out of your bag to help you pass through the gate.
On the train, he led you to one of the seats and you slowly lowered yourself down onto one. The train, the people, everything was all so loud, they made you visibly wince. Xavier noticed right away, of course, and pulled out a pair of headphones you didn't know he carried with him.
"They're noise-cancelling headphones," he told you. "They might help." He placed them over your ears and through the dim shades of the sunglasses, you watched as he took off his outer coat and rolled it up.
"Lift your head a little," he softly told you. When you obeyed, he placed the folded clothing behind you against the window. It was a little makeshift pillow for you to rest your head upon.
"There. Just close your eyes. I'll let you know when we're at our stop."
You couldn't help but smile a little at how thoughtful he was being. As you tried to rest while on the train, you began to hear what sounded like white noise coming over the headphones. It was soothing. You heaved a deep breath and tried to relax as best you could while still being on the train. Xavier stood over you, watching you to make sure you were okay.
When you arrived at your stop, he let you know when it was time to get off and stayed with you on the way back to the apartment. The aura was not as bad as it had been at work, but you still could see a small orb in your vision that was messing with your eyes. You still also felt a little dizzy and leaned upon Xavier as you both rode the elevator to your floor.
"You're not going back to work, Xavier?" You asked as he punched in the code to your apartment.
"No," he answered. "I'm staying with you."
"You don't have to," you said, even though you were inwardly happy that he would be with you.
He smiled and squeezed your hand. "I want to take care of you. Come on, go get changed and lie down. I'll make you some tea."
Xavier struggled with cooking, but you had shown him the easiest way to make tea, and he wasn't too bad at it. You had to stress the importance of watching the stove, but after that, he had shown improvement. You could hear the sound of the tea kettle whistling as you changed into some comfy clothes and slid under your covers. The whistling sound didn't help the ache in your head, but you tried to ignore it.
Your room was dark, but not dark enough and the dim light was enough to make your eyes ache. You pulled the covers over your head and curled up into a ball, gripping the blankets. This is how Xavier found you when he entered the bedroom with a mug of warm tea. He gently set the mug on the side table, and you felt the mattress dip when he sat down beside you.
"Is your migraine still pretty bad?" He asked softly.
"Yeah," you answer.
"I'll make it darker in here."
You had blackout curtains in case a migraine like this hit you, and he tugged them together to cover up your windows the best he could. He then shut the door and unplugged the alarm clock so even that wouldn't shine any light. Even under your blankets, you could tell the room was much darker than before.
Xavier then pulled out his phone and again you could hear the low sound of white noise softly fill the room. Just like when he played it on the train, it was just enough to soothe you and didn't make your migraine worsen.
Xavier slightly pulled the covers aside to slide into bed beside you. You barely opened your eyes to see him next to you under the blankets. He gave you a soft smile and reached out to gently massage your neck.
"Try to sleep," he whispered. "When you wake up, I'll warm up the tea and we'll make something good to eat. You should also take some medicine again."
You took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Wrapping your arms around him, you nuzzled into his chest and closed your eyes.
"Thanks, Xavier."
Before you drifted off, you felt him rub your back and softly kiss the top of your head.
"You're welcome, star light."

{ drabbles / headcanons }
[ spring kisses with them ]
featuring: sylus, zayne, xavier, rafayel, caleb
{ one smile, one kiss, two lonely hearts is all that i need now, baby | you’re on my mind every night, every day… }
you became drunk off the scent of flowers, giggling each time sylus teases you with their soft petals.
his gaze remain soft; rufescent eyes gazing down at your figure as they fill with adoration for you. holding the flower gingerly by its stem, he places the pink petals against your lips. a tickling sensation was felt on your skin, causing your lips to tilt up in a sweet smile that captivates your beloved.
the flower’s petals shift in response to the wind, the petals breaking from its stem before landing against your parted lips. letting out an amused chuckle, sylus removes the single petal from your lips. he takes a moment to admire it before pressing a kiss against it.
warmth courses through your veins at the sight as you lean up to frame at his face. with the single petal now floating away, he captures your lips in a sweet kiss before landing with you against the pile of flowers-
a sudden memory resurfaces, of dragon wings and the scent of datura flowers filling at the air as the crimson petals danced in the wind.
caught in a sweet dance, zayne takes your hand and guides you around the gazebo. with your dress flowing around you, you felt as though you were living in a fairytale.
surrounding you were the dizzying scent of flowers coupled along with the cheerful chirping of the birds. unbidden joy courses through you, with your arms wrapped around zayne’s neck (like it was the most natural thing in the world.)
his hands wraps themselves behind the small of your back, bringing you achingly close to him. his eyes were brimming with an unspoken devotion to you as zayne leans forward to capture your lips in a sweet kiss. the faint taste of macarons fills at your senses each time zayne moves his lips oh so lovingly against yours-
making all of your dreams come true within that single moment.
you swore that you lived to see xavier’s pouting face each time you pressed a kiss against your favorite plushie’s face, holding the bunny so close to your chest even as xavier tackles you back against the cushions.
he hovers over you, half-lidded gaze taking in your playful expression while looking at your slightly parted lips. with a gentle sigh of your name, your beloved leans in closer to you, ready to share a sweet kiss-
only to let out a grunt of disapproval when his lips met with the toy bunny’s face.
feigning a look of annoyance, xavier takes the plushie in his hand and embraces it for a few seconds before playfully punching it. his actions earn a gasp from you, and when you reach out to save your precious baby-
only to have xavier interlock your fingertips together with his, bringing you closer as your lips met with his. he kept you locked in a passionate kiss, with him silently begging you to open up to him. feeling the tip of his tongue pushing against your lips, you slowly open up to him-
the plush long forgotten now, you delve your fingers into his hair, pulling him closer to you as you lay back whilst surrounded by the scent of him and spring flowers in full bloom.
the scent of wisterias were thick in the air as the petals blew over rafayel’s open sketchbook. his sketch was forgotten the moment you lay down with him on the grass, your fingertips gently tracing at his features.
the lemurian finds himself leaning into your touch, eyes taking in the beautiful sight of your smiling face. turning away from you for a brief moment, he sees a tiny wildflower with white petals and picks it. holding up the gentle bloom to you, you half expected rafayel to fasten it above your ear-
yet was left pleasantly surprised when he ends up placing it on your lips. only catching a glimpse of his playful expression, you gasp upon feeling him kiss you, moving the soft flower against your lips to cause a gentle friction you had never felt before.
and you quickly became addicted to it.
with your eyes clenched shut, you bask in the sensation of his kisses, never wanting this moment to end.
caleb had never looked so happy-
so free before this very moment-
and you wanted to burn this memory into your mind, never wishing to forget.
the boat sways within the lake, yet you found it comforting to lay in it with your beloved colonel. you had no idea how many hours he spent making sure your spring date was perfect-
ensuring your happiness above all else.
your whispered promises of forever lingers within the air when caleb takes you within his embrace, placing a kiss against your hair while softly calling you by name. you meet his gaze, feeling your heart racing at the sight of his crooked grin.
moments pass, and when you kept looking at him with such a soft expression, something shifted within him,
with his gaze narrowed, caleb leans closer to you, capturing your lips in a passionate kiss while under the canopy of the moss and trees.
{ you can say that i’m a fool and i don't know very much | but i think they call this love | oh, i think they call this love. }
end notes: this looks like a very cute banner, but i think i’ll skip this one for now if i can’t get sylus’s card with my free pulls (;﹏;) but have this unedited drabble in celebration for the new spring banner ♡

Gloved hands caress your inner thigh slowly.
Your eyes flutter, a soft sigh escaping your bitten lips. His fingers hook onto the waistband of your sleep shorts, pulling them down in one swift motion. Your back arches off the bed, feeling his breath dangerously close to your wetness.
“I’ve barely touched you, angel,” he moans softly, hiking your legs over his shoulders. The white jacket he wears is cold against your warm skin. You can’t find the words to speak, only gasping in response when he pulls your panties to the side.
His hands grip your thighs; a tender, slow flick of his tongue that makes you thrust your hips up, entirely too impatient with his lack of urgency. He chuckles lowly at your shameless need. Another agonizing swipe of his tongue, and your hands come up to grip his silver hair.
“Nnngh— s-stop teasing m-me.” you plead, looking at his blue eyes, adorned by an ornate mask. His eyes glimmer with the moonlight seeping through your bedroom window.
“But I like hearing you beg for me.” he whispers, and you can feel every word against your dripping cunt. You sigh, making your frustration known. But you sense it only serves to indulge him.
“P-please,” you implore once again, this time his fingers coming up to toy with you.
“Mmm,” his gaze is heavy, admiring the sight before him. “Okay, angel. You know I can’t resist you.”
He steadies you, lapping at your dripping folds like a man starved. You’re writhing, moaning and pulling at his strands. He’s relentless, holding you down in place as he guides you towards your sweet release. You’re close, so close—
“Y/N?”
You still, turning towards your bedroom door where the sound of your boyfriend’s voice was heard. Your eyes widen, choking on your words.
“X-xavier?!” you gasp, coming up onto your elbows. You stare at him in disbelief, turning back to the man in between your legs. How… how could it be…?
Xavier walks towards the bed, hand coming to hold the back of your head. His face is inches away, pink lips tempting you. He’s completely covering your vision, but a small kiss to your thigh reminds you of the other him.
Lumiere.
“So greedy,” Xavier whispers, pulling your head back. “You really need two of me?”
“I…” The words die on your tongue as the man below you hits a particular spot with his tongue.
“I can please you just fine.”
Xavier’s eyes darken, jaw clenching. He pulls you in, lips crashing against yours in a fervorous kiss. You moan, melting into his touch. It’s easy to lose yourself with him; you don’t even notice the absence between your legs until another hand grabs your jaw.
You barely have time to register what’s happening, Lumiere’s lips replacing Xavier’s. You wonder how they could feel the same but be so different. His kiss is rougher, messy and wet. He’s more controlling, guiding your tongue with his own.
Xavier growls behind you, climbing over you and wrapping your legs around his hips. He grinds into you, his hard cock barely contained by his sweatpants. You moan into Lumiere’s mouth.
“Over here, angel.”
You pull away, a string of saliva falling from your lips as you turn to look at your boyfriend. Beside you, there’s a dark chuckle. What the hell was happening? You were too turned on to question it further.
Xavier revels in your redirected attention, pulling his sweatpants down. His cock slaps his skin, red and throbbing for you. You bite your lip, unconsciously spreading your legs wider. Your dripping cunt is ready for him, but you're pulled away before you can feel him inside.
You squeak at the sudden movement, Lumiere’s strong arms pulling your head to the edge of the bed. He stands over you, a slight smirk on his face as he pulls his own pulsing length free. Your eyes widen, mouth falling slightly agape.
“I want my fun, too.” He brings his tip to your lips, and you part them without question.
Below, Xavier grabs your legs once again, spreading you open and teasing your pussy with his tip. You moan, and Lumiere takes it as an opportunity to bury his cock deeper into your mouth. A light slap against your thigh, a reminder of where to keep your attention.
“Mmmmph!”
Xavier pushes into you slowly, inch by inch. The stretch makes you arch your back, moaning sweetly against the cock in your mouth.
“Fuck, angel,” Xavier groans once he’s fully inside. You tighten around him. “It’s like you were made for me.”
Then they pull their hips back, slamming back into your gaping holes. Moaning and whining with every brush against your throat, every stretch of your walls. You’re turned into a mess under their unabated pounding.
Drool is dripping out of your mouth, Lumiere’s cock hitting the back of your throat with every stroke. Tears pool in your eyes, but you don’t pull away, his low groans encouraging you to take him even deeper.
Xavier holds you in place, nails digging into the sides of your thighs as he slides in and out of you. He’s whining, your tight walls coaxing him back every time he pulls away. You’re being completely defiled by them, but you don’t want them to stop.
Their thrusts are sloppy now, a sign they were close. And so were you.
“Hey!”
You ignore the little voice, trying to focus on the coil tightening in your belly. Xavier feels good, so good inside of you.
“Hey!”
The voice is persistent, and suddenly you find your mouth empty. Lumiere nowhere to be seen.
“Hey, wake up!”
You groan, squirming away from the hands shaking your body. Flipping over, you yelp, falling over the edge of the bed.
“Ow!”
You rub your shoulder, opening your eyes to see that you’re no longer in your bedroom. Instead, it’s your boyfriends. The blue moonlight is gone, replaced by sunlight peeking through the white curtains. Sitting up, you look around, only to find Xavier looking at you with concern.
He’s on the bed, sheets pulled over his waist. Definitely not the boyfriend that was fucking you stupid.
“You okay?” he asks, voice laced with sleep.
“Uh… what happened?” your voice is raspy. You stand to grab the glass of water by your bedside table, chugging it like it was the only water left on earth.
All you can do is nod and swallow, suddenly very aware of the wetness sticking to your underwear.
“I think you were having a nightmare. You kept mumbling my name in your sleep.” he pouts, tapping the space next to him.
You give in, crawling back into bed and into his warm embrace. Xavier caresses your cheek gently, and you can’t help the way your face heats at the lingering memory of your dream.
“What was it about?”
You nuzzle your head in his chest, unable to face him directly. He places a barely there kiss on the crown of your head.
“I don’t… I don’t even remember.” you lie, but he doesn’t press further. Soon his breathing slows, and he’s asleep once again.
You close your eyes, willing your mind to go back to that beautiful moonlit room with Xavier.
And Lumiere, of course.
Xavier had really done it now.
You were used to him disappearing for hours, for days, sometimes even for weeks, all with no contact. This time, he’d been gone a whole month. And you vowed, if he wasn’t already dead, you’d kill him. Or worse. You’d simply disappear yourself. See how he liked it.
—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Xavier couldn’t find you.
At first, he thought you’d simply wandered off again. You had a tendency to be distracted by every street performer you heard, every afternoon market you passed by, every shop display you laid eyes on; any time there was anything that had life, that had shine, you were there, paying your time and attention to it. And he took great pride in being the only person who could find you, each and every time. Maybe you’d posted a picture of your coffee and he’d caught a glimpse of a partial store sign in the background. Maybe you’d mention that you were stuck in abnormally high traffic and he remembered a parade nearby. But either way, rain or shine, he’d find you, like it was always fate’s intention to have you back in his arms.
But not today.
Today, it’d been three hours, forty-six minutes, and seventeen seconds, and he still could not find you. He was getting desperate. He’d been gone for an entire month and had done nothing but imagine the glow in your eyes or the curve of your smile when you finally welcomed him home. He never imagined that maybe one day he’d come home and you wouldn’t be there.
He hoped he was just imagining things when he got a notice that your last transaction was a large withdrawal of cash; he prayed that there was still time for you to stumble through the doors, grinning sheepishly, as you admitted you’d caved and bought a farm, or something of the sort. But the clock ticked away, the sun set and rose and then set again, and you still weren’t home.
He lay on your bed, trying to will you into existence beside him, as he clung to the lingering scent of shampoo in your sheets. He stared up at the ceiling, letting his thoughts consume him, not bothering to get up even to humor his growling stomach.
Why had he stayed away so long? He couldn’t seem to remember now. There was always something for him to tend to, something that couldn’t wait, something that only he could do, but now, as he lay in your empty apartment, missing your warmth, missing your light, he wondered what it was that could’ve been so important that he couldn’t spare the time to check in and reassure you that he was okay. To reassure him that you were okay. And now he had no idea if you were even alive.
You wouldn’t answer his calls, you wouldn’t answer his texts. He wasn’t even sure you had your phone on you, because he couldn’t track your movements. What were you doing? Where were you going? What were you thinking? Were you mad at him? Of course you were mad at him. You always hated how he had a tendency to take on the world by himself, how he took risks no one else would take and carried burdens no one else would shoulder.
Wherever you were, however far you’d gone, he hoped that you were okay and that you still had room in your heart to forgive him. You were always forgiving him. Forgiving him for taking the last dumpling, forgiving him for oversleeping and missing your breakfast date, forgiving him for hiding his wounds from you. Of course, you gave your forgiveness in exchange for pinky promises of better behavior and bribery, but you’d always forgive him at the end of the day nonetheless. He wondered if you’d still forgive him now. Or if your forgiveness had an expiration date and he was just one month too late.
When a week passed and you still hadn’t contacted him, he started to lose his mind. He was used to being alone, from going on missions alone, to traveling the soundless, boundless expanse of deep space alone, with his thoughts as his only constant companion. But you were always at the end of that path. You were always where he was trying to go, who he was trying to save. And now he was completely without you. And he had no idea what to do with himself. He swore to himself that if he ever saw you again, he would never leave your side. He would plant himself beside you, breathe when you breathed, walk when you walked, and be no farther from you than your own shadow; it was decided. Now, if only you’d show up.
Frustrated by his own helplessness, he plopped down onto your couch, nestling himself among your many plushies. He looked at them for a moment, remembering the moment he’d won them all for you. You’d thrown your arms around his neck, beaming brightly, before declaring to everyone in the arcade that “Xavier’s the absolute BEST!” He smiled as he remembered the way he’d carried you in his arms like the bride he’d always intended for you to be, with the plushies sitting all snug on your stomach. Now he lay beside them, feeling a sense of loss.
“I’m an idiot, aren’t I?” He asked a nearby teddy bear.
He took the bear’s lack of response as a sign to continue. “I see now why she hates when I leave without her. This…this is terrible.”
The bear gazed on in what Xavier could only assume was sympathy.
Xavier sighed. “Do you think she hates me now?”
The bear remained silent.
Xavier slumped.
Then his phone beeped and nearly shattered the sound barrier. He’d been moping in silence all week and now that silence had finally been broken. He scrambled for his phone in an instant, almost dropping it in the process.
His screen only displayed one word: No.
He blinked at it. “No? What does that mean? No…you aren’t coming home? No, what?” He murmured to himself as he pondered the mysterious text.
Another beep. No, I don’t hate you.
His eyes widened. He looked down at the bear.
“You know something, don’t you?”
Silence.
Trying to hide his smile, Xavier then flopped back against the cushions, using his arm as a shield over his face before proclaiming, “It’s a shame that I have no way of communicating with Y/N. I was just thinking I’d make her favorite meal for dinner.”
No response.
Maybe she knew that despite his best intentions, whether it was her favorite or not, whether it was her kitchen or his, all his cooked meals had the same end result. Maybe it wasn’t enticing enough for her.
“I suppose I could just eat these plushies for dinner. There’s no one around to stop me if I just decided to chop them up into pieces and boil them into a stew.” He teased.
His phone beeped. You’re resorting to threats now?
He grinned at the bear, his eyes now finding the nanny camera that had been oh-so-carefully transplanted onto one of its buttons. “So, you coming home now?”
Are you sorry?
His eyes softened. “I am. Very sorry.”
You won’t do it again?
He scratched the back of his head sheepishly. “Well… I’ll do my best next-”
Xav. You won’t do it again. Or the next time I’m gone, it’ll be for much longer than a week.
He gave a resigned sigh before smiling again. “Alright, I won’t do it again. I won’t leave unless I talk with you first and I’ll take you with if I can.” He held his breath as he awaited your response.
The seconds felt like eons and the eons just reminded him of the space between the two of you. He wished he was holding you instead of clinging to your plushies for even a hint of your scent. He didn’t know what he’d do if you didn’t come home soon. If you didn’t answer him. If you didn’t forgive him.
Fine, good enough. But stay out of my kitchen; you set it on fire last time. I’ll make dinner.
He let out a breath of relief.
You were coming home at long last.

You can feel the breeze rushing through the trees you hear overhead as their leaves rustle. The wind plays with the hem of your skirt, making it flutter around your legs. The gauzy material feels like a feather as it brushes against your legs.
"Where are we going, Xavier?" You ask as he leads you further into the woods. "You'll see, just trust me." He responds, squeezing your hand. You do trust him, Xavier would never lead you to harm. Of that, you are absolutely certain. But you can't deny that curiosity burning in you.
A week ago, Xavier had asked you to clear your day for the 14th. He wanted to take you somewhere. He'd also requested you wear the white dress with thin straps and the silver star pattern sweeping up the skirt. You paired the dress with white flats and left your hair down.
"How much further?" You asked, becoming increasingly antsy about where he was taking you. "We're almost there, promise." He answered as he grabbed your other hand. "Step up now." He said, guiding you onto a hard surface. Guessing that it had been a rock when he guided you to step down again right after.
The breeze blowing seemed more free here. The space felt bigger. A few more steps, and he stopped and let go of both hands and moved away. "Xavier?" You call holding your hands out in front, trying to search for him. Walking carefully so as no to tripnor stumbled.
Your hand came into contact with something warm, and you smiled in relief. Feeling the slow, steady beat of Xavier's heart. His hand curled over the top of yours. His fingers brushed your cheek as he carefully slid the blindfold off.
You blinked several times as your eyes adjusted to the light. Several orbs of light were floating around you, just suspended in air. Looking up, you saw that they had completely set and the stars were shining brightly, scattered across the sky without competition.
"Oh wow." You said in awe, looking around. A large checkered blanket had been laid out on the grass, and a wicker basket was set on one of the corners.
"You told me that you'd always wanted to picnic under the stars, so what do you think." He said, gesturing to his spread. He handed you a bouquet of red, purple, and burgundy roses. They were the largest blooms you had ever seen. "Happy Valentiens Day." He said softly, watching you intently.
"Oh, Xavier, these are beautiful!" You say after finding your voice. You hold the flowers in one hand and reach up to kiss him. Placing your free hand on his face as you do. He wraps his arms around your waist and bends down to you.
"I got your favorite foods. I did try to make something myself, but..". He trails off, scratching the side of his head. You laugh, knowing he was absolutely hopeless in the kitchen. He did much better when you cooked together, but on his own... You just couldn't understand where he was going wrong.
"It's ok." You say smiling up at him. His sheepish expression is just too cute. "I love you, not your cooking skills." He smiles softly, a faint pink on his cheeks and ears.
Xavier unpacks the basket and pours you a glass of wine. Sitting down next to him, you snack on the food, watching him quietly. He seems to be thinking about something.
"Did you know we're supposed yo have a meteor shower tonight?" He asks, showing you his phone screen. You glance down at the article he had been reading. "Wow, I wonder if we're in a good spot to see it." You say and go yo grab a cherry as Xavier is also reaching for one. Your fingers touch. Instead of grabbing one, Xavier laces his finger with yours.
You grab a cherry with your free hand and press it to his lips. He stared at you as he bites it. Your faces heats up from his intense eye contact. You blink and look away flustered.
"No fair." You mutter and hear him laugh softly. You never should have told him you loved his gaze and how deep his eyes were. He used the knowledge on you every opportunity.
He pulls out a portable radio from the basket and starts fiddling with it, seemingly trying to find a station signal.
A few minutes later and a voice comes out. "... and now, for all you valentine lovers out there on this special day, we bring you this next song." You recognize the opening notes of an old song that was popular about fifteen years ago.
Xavier stands up and offers you his hand as Adele's voice starts singing. "Dance with me." You smile and take his hand.
He brings you in close, holding you tightly against his body as he begins swaying with you slowly. The moon shines down on you brightly.
You press your ear against his chest, listening to his faster than normal heartbeat and close your eyes. The feeling of home was over you. Adele's sweet voice is in the background as her song draws to a close.
Even after the song is over, Xavier continues holding you as you slowly move about the clearing.
A while later, he's getting your attention and telling you to look up. Bright flicks of light are blinking across the sky one after another. Just a few at first and then dozens.
"Wow, how pretty." You reach a hand out as if to try and touch them. Leaning back into Xavier's arms, you watch the lights fly across the sky, thinking that there is no place in the galaxy you'd rather be than right here with Xavier right by your side.
****************************************************
Yes, I was listening to Adele while I wrote this. Guilty.
I know what you might be thinking. Why didn't I post Xavier's story yesterday? The answer is simple! I had a hard time writing his story and have myself an extra day! Hence why I posted the first one on the 9th.
I prolly wrote and rewrote this one seven times.
I love Xavier. But he is SO HARD for me to write without him being completely OOC! 😫
I did try really hard, I hope you love it!!

Everyday is enough of a special day as long as it's with you.
Your eyes blinked open.
The advantage of sleeping in Xavier's room was that the blinds were drawn—it was the perfect environment to be conducive for sleep, so much so that the peaked, late-afternoon sun, did little to stir you awake. The sheets were warm, and cozy, and soft… You could sink into the mattress, so cloud-like and weightless.
It was dangerous, in a sense. Staying here made you forget what other things you had on your to-do list for the day. But turning your head to the side to rest your eyes upon the soundly sleeping figure next to you made everything worth it. Warm sunlight peeked in slightly through the blinds, illuminating the room in a soft, dim glow, but you didn't really need it. If anything, the only light you felt that you needed was right here, right next to you.
You noticed faint, barely-noticeable particles of light floating around the crown of his head, and you smiled.
Those weren't from the sunlight.
He must be having a good dream…
You shifted slightly. The movement pulled you away from his embrace just a little bit, but it was enough to get him to stir.
"Mmmnh…"
He didn't open his eyes, but his arms tugged you closer by the waist. An instinctive reaction, you could only assume, and a soft laugh fell from your lips in response. Something about the way he held you made him feel akin to a weighted blanket; despite being clearly asleep, his grip on you was firm enough that you could barely wiggle free from him this time.
You felt sleepy nuzzles into your shoulder, and you smiled and pat his arm.
Pats wouldn't work, of course.
Gently, you shook him, trying to nudge him off of you.
Bleary eyes opened, vision unfocused.
"What… time is it?"
A playful scoff on your end. "Gee, I dunno, Xavier. I'm kinda stuck here."
He blinked, for a moment. Once, twice. It took a while, and you patiently waited, eyebrow raised as your words—and the way he was hugging you so firmly—finally registered in his head. A hint of sheepishness was present on his gaze as he allowed you free from his grasp. You were quick to soothe with a kiss to the tip of his nose.
He sat up with you as you moved to reach for your phone, and out of the corner of your eye, you could see him rubbing his eyes as if it would do anything to help the sleepiness subside.
12:30 in the afternoon.
This was new—you never got to sleep in this much when you were alone, but sleeping with Xavier seemed to bring out newer, sleepier, admittedly lazier sides to you that you didn't know you could have. It was a good thing, of course; at least this time, you could actually rest. There was something freeing about it. Xavier never judged you for sleeping in with him; in fact, he'd much rather have you do just that than wake up without him.
And then your eyes drifted towards the date.
February 14th.
A moment of realization dawned.
You'd gotten so caught up in this just being another simple, restful day off, that you'd completely forgotten…
Slowly, sheepishly, you set your phone down and turned to Xavier.
Still clearly a little out of it, he was sitting up, staring blankly in your general direction. It seemed as if his mind was still asleep, slow blinks not particularly focusing on even you, or anything else. His hair was a mess, a few strands sticking out. His pajama top looked a little skewed—no doubt, if he could still be under the covers at this very moment, he certainly would have been.
But he also looked so freaking cute.
A moment of silence passed like that, a silly smile on your face as you tilted your head—because how could you look away from that? Few others would have the privilege of seeing the Association's most formidable Hunter doing adorable little eye rubs and trying to stay awake in his own bed. In fact, no one else probably did aside from you. And it was a sight to appreciate.
It didn't take too long for his gaze to focus back on you, and, whether out of another instinctual pull or out of a slight sense of embarrassment for realizing you'd been staring at him this whole time, he pulled you back against his chest. Automatically you curled your figure into him, ear resting against his heart as you listened to its ever-steady thrum.
"…It's almost one in the afternoon," you huffed. Yet there was no resistance in your voice; your arms wrapped around him in a reciprocal manner.
"Mhm. But… I want to stay like this a while longer."
"This is unfair, you're just too comfy…"
He shifted, coaxing your head up to look at him. Upon meeting his gaze, you could see that most of the sleep had since melted away to give way to a certain sense of fondness. "We don't have plans today," he murmured. "Can't we stay in a little longer?"
It was so difficult to say no.
A smile peeked at the corners of your lips.
"Well… how about, what do you want to eat later? We've missed breakfast, so this might as well be…"
"Brunch… right?"
"Mhm!" Your eyes fluttered as he reached over to trace your cheek, light, gentle touches that lulled you into a sense of comfort. "We could… order some takeout, maybe? It's been a while…"
"Sure. We can order from that place you like."
You watched, your own gaze softening, as he leaned in to press a kiss to your forehead.
"Xavier…"
"What do you want to do today?"
He tucked an awry strand of your hair away from your face this time, but the question made your eyes light up. Something in you knew what he wanted to hear—that he probably, likely wanted to just stay in and sleep.
Yet, you sat up, and you could have laughed at his expression. He blinked, taking another moment to process, and his brows furrowed ever so slightly. Unlike last time, he didn't sit up with you.
"I… I have an idea!" you nudged him. "Listen, you said so yourself. We don't have plans today… And, remember all those movies we said we'd watch together? Isn't this the perfect time for us to—"
He cut you off.
Another second had you practically yanked back down to him, and you let out a laugh.
"Five more minutes…"
—
You wondered if it was supposed to end up this way.
Messing around in the kitchen turned brunch into an odd combination of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, another reminder of just how easily things could flow into their own thing, when it was just the two of you. You could argue about how unhealthy your habits had been today, but one day was just one day, wasn't it? You had no real plans today—in the end, what it settled into was a mutual agreement to indulge in the day a little.
But what you hadn't expected was to walk into a living room that no longer… looked like the living room that you knew.
You didn't think you'd spent that much time fixing up the kitchen, but the stark change to the living room space proved otherwise.
Prepped for your little home theater date, the room had been dimmed, lights switched off—except, even with the lights on, you wouldn't have been able to pinpoint where exactly the television was, or where exactly the couch was, or where exactly Xavier was. Instead, what stood in front of you was a large amalgamation of blankets, and bedsheets, and pillows… Not quite organized in the least, nor matched in shade or size, but certainly very… big. You knew that these were all the extras that you had stored, and you couldn't quite describe what was in front of you.
A canopy?
A castle?
A… fort?
You stood there for a while, head tilted, noting a rummaging going around on the inside. It took a moment before you heard a little click, and the inside of the pillow fort glowed a warm, inviting orange.
Xavier poked his head out from under one of the blankets.
"Hi," he nodded at you.
The sparkle in his eyes told you that he was quite proud of yourself.
"…Hi," you laughed. "What's with the living room, Xav?"
"You… said you wanted to watch some movies. I figured I could turn it into something cozy."
"Except I'm always cozy with you."
"Then, extra cozy."
"Did you just want another place to fall asleep in?"
"…No…"
With a laugh, you waved your hand, and crawled under the fort with him.
The space was smaller inside than you'd expected it to be, all fluffy and warm and, true to his word—cozy. It certainly didn't look like much from the outside, but snuggling with him under a separate blanket of your own, leaning against the foot of the couch, the television settled in front of you… truly did make it feel like a personal little theater for the both of you.
Once again, perhaps instinctually, you curled sideways into him and lay your head on his chest. With one arm wrapped around you to keep you securely tucked into him, he used the other to point upwards.
Fairy lights.
Several strings of them, the very source of the little glow you'd been seeing from outside. The lights emitted from them weren't particularly strong, but all of it turned this whole thing into something that was—again—cozy.
A hand reached out, and you let out a soft laugh. "They look like stars."
He followed your motion, reaching out with you. His hand placed next to yours made yours incredibly small, but it made you smile. "Yeah," he agreed, "but they're also stars that don't feel too far away from us."
"Kinda like we're stargazing, huh? Without the cold…"
Your fingers intertwined with his, and he brought your hands down towards his mouth. A soft peck to your knuckles, before he nuzzled your hands against his cheek.
"Well… Anywhere with you feels like stargazing. Since the only star I really want to be looking at… is right here."
His words drew out the air from your lungs. Your eyes met—there was a certain shine in his, blue eyes glowing beneath the strings of light hanging above you. Even this alone, the way he looked at you, could have been enough to drown you. You felt the heat rush to your cheeks; such simple words had you floundering in an instant.
"You're so unfair," you murmured.
There was no bite to your words.
"Am I?"
He shifted to dim the fairy lights, and a flick of his hand had his evol playing around with the lighting. Barely a couple of tries were needed for him to secure a spot on the 'wall' of your little safety fort, where shadows danced along the lined sheets. Slowly, he brought his pinky over to draw your hand back to his, and the shadow of a rabbit formed on the wall.
A giggle fell from your lips. "Hey, that looks like Bunbun!"
"That you've gotten three of in a row just last week…"
You nudged him, pulling your hand to make another, smaller rabbit. "Weeelllll, it kind of looks like you, too~"
Sneaking a glance at him showed a little smile spreading on his own features, but you had little time to recognize the brief flash of mischief in his eyes before the rabbit he'd been projecting to the wall swiftly turned into the head of a wolf.
You gasped, drawing your own rabbit away. "Xavier!"
"I thought you were more sensitive to traps."
"But they're cute—!"
"Sometimes… you should expect the unexpected."
You let out a squeal as the 'wolf' began to advance towards your rabbit, and you immediately draw your hand away and buried your face into his chest. "Silly!" Laughing, you made light punches at his arm. "Take your wolfie away from me!"
And it was silly, but something about it made you feel all fuzzy inside. He laughed in return; it was the sound of it that made you stop, pausing to cherish the warmth that spread through you as a result of it.
Yet the more you look at him, the more you realize that the glow within your little blanket fort, pillow fort, castle whatever it was—wasn't quite coming from much of an external source, but from… him. Specks of those same little sprinkles of light scattered around him, and you could have sworn the very outline of his figure felt like it was glowing.
Smiling, you shifted closer to him, fingers moving to thread through his hair. "Xavier…" you chuckled. "What's going on?"
"What… do you mean?"
You reached out to poke his cheek. "Xavier glows when he's happy."
It took a moment.
You watched as his expression shifted ever so slightly, the flash of surprise making itself visible for a moment before settling into a fondness you knew was reserved only for you. You could marvel at it, really. There were many things about Xavier that you've come to know all this time that you've been spending with him, the past couple years of your relationship. Things like the subtle movement of his gaze when he's caught off-guard, or the twitch of his lips when he tries to keep himself from smiling. He was more expressive than people realized—moreso with the little things, and a little less, sometimes, with his words.
"Because I am happy." He leaned in, closer. The tips of your noses touched, and he nuzzled against you gently. "Are you?"
His hand raised, a familiar bunny light bouncing around the both of you as he smiled softly. That bunny, the very same one from that campfire, the very same one where—as far as you could recall—you'd made one of your very first promises with him.
Tell me when you're overwhelmed next time.
Something in you told you this was a similar moment.
It was quiet for a while, your eyes staying locked. Bated breath formed a certain tension in the air that wasn't unbearable, but easily had your heart skipping a beat. If you leaned back down, listened to his heartbeat… you wondered if you would feel the same thing. Yet somehow, in this moment… it felt as if your hearts had never been this close.
It was Xavier who broke the silence.
"I didn't forget, you know."
You didn't pull away, but you blinked. "…Huh?"
"Today. It's Valentine's day… Isn't it?"
"Oh…"
"I didn't forget."
He nodded his head, once. The smile on his face never quite left, even as he assessed the traces of panic on your own.
"I— I did, though… Sorry. I don't have anything, I didn't really—"
"It's okay."
You blinked. Again. You noticed that Xavier had been catching you by surprise a fair amount this day. "Huh?"
"It's okay," he repeated, patiently. "Because the only gift that I want… is already right next to me. And she's the same star as the only star I wish to be looking at."
Once again, it was Xavier who broke the tension.
Before you could react, before you could fluster yourself over his words—
He leaned down, lips touching against yours.
One kiss. "I love you."
Another kiss. "I love you."
A third kiss. "I love you, still."
You were left dizzy at the quick succession of kisses, feather-light, barely there, and you could practically feel the way his lips turned up into a satisfied smile.
"They say three times' the charm… right?"
Cheeky.
And yet, looking back into his eyes pushed the mischief in them aside, and instead what you found in them was— love.
So, so, much love.
More than the three times he's said it today, and more than… whatever Valentine's Day was supposed to be.
Something swelled in your chest.
"Sometimes, I think that, from the far reaches of the night sky… A star has arrived on this planet." You spoke slowly, formulating your words, and then you bumped your nose against his with a smile. "And I also think that star happens to be laying right next to me."
Arms wrapped around his neck, and it was your turn to shower his face in a little flurry of kisses, relishing the soft laughs that fall from his own lips.
"So if I'm the only star you want to look at," you murmured, "then you're the only star I want to spend the rest of my days with. I hope… tonight won't be the last night we get to spend with each other. I want more nights with you. More like this."
And he chuckled.
"No, it won't be the last."
Slowly, his arms trailed to rest on your waist, gently guiding you to settle on top of him. Happily, you pressed your forehead against his. In this moment, you realized that you loved, all too much, to look into his eyes like this.
"…Your eyes look like stars," you laughed quietly.
"Yours hold all of them."
"No, that's wrong, Xavier. It holds one star. That's you."
He smiled.
"…Mn. It won't be the last, not tonight." He said again, brushing your hair from your face. "We've followed the pull of fate to this moment, so I'll make sure to stay by your side. Now, and always. Maybe, this night… holds the hope there is for us to always be together."
