Details: dokidoki fluffy coffee caleb, maybe he adds apple juice and a squeeze of lemon? 700ish words.
“Morning,” he says, a slow, easy grin tugging at his lips as he leans against the counter. His voice is smooth, low, but carries just enough amusement to make you feel like he’s been waiting all morning for someone interesting to talk to. “First time here?”
You blink, thrown for a second, before shaking your head. “Uh—no, I’ve been here before. Just… not with you taking my order.”
“Ah,” he hums, like this is important information. “Well, in that case, I’ll have to make sure your experience today is exceptional. What can I get for you?”
It’s almost unfair, how casual he is about it. You manage to give him your order, your voice steadier than you expect, but the moment he nods and writes your name on the cup, you realize you might be in trouble.
Because he is breathtaking.
Not just in a pretty-boy, “oh, he’s attractive” kind of way. No, it’s the way he moves—fluid, self-assured, a quiet kind of charisma that doesn’t demand attention but holds it anyway. His apron is tied perfectly at his waist, snug but comfortable, emphasizing his lean build. He works with an effortless grace, hands moving with quick, precise motions as he sets up your drink like he’s been doing it all his life.
And then there’s the new barista.
You notice them standing beside him, apron still a little too crisp, movements stiff with nerves. He notices too.
“Hey, you good?” he asks, his tone light, but genuinely concerned.
The newbie nods, but hesitantly. He watches them for half a second, then gestures toward your order.
“Wanna make this one?”
They freeze. “Uh—me?”
“Yeah, you,” he grins, nodding toward the espresso machine. “C’mon, it’s just one drink. What’s the worst that can happen?”
“…I mess it up?”
“That’s the spirit,” he teases, nudging them lightly with his elbow. “But seriously, don’t worry. I’ll walk you through it.”
You watch as the newbie hesitantly steps up, hands fumbling with the portafilter. He lets them struggle for a second before stepping in behind them, close enough that his voice drops slightly, quiet and patient.
“Here, let me help.”
And then he does something devastating.
He reaches out, his hands brushing over theirs as he adjusts their grip, fingers steady and sure. “You wanna lock it in like this. Feel that little click? That means it’s in place.”
The newbie nods, but their breath catches slightly, and—yeah, okay, you can’t blame them. He is warm, too close, and entirely too unaware of how unfair it is to exist like this.
“Good,” he says, pulling back just enough to give them space. “Now, hit that button—yeah, that one. You got it.”
You swear you see the newbie swallow hard, cheeks dusted pink. He doesn’t comment on it—maybe he’s too focused on the drink, or maybe he’s just used to this.
Because you are feeling the exact same thing.
The drink comes together eventually, and the newbie looks both relieved and still slightly dazed. He claps them on the shoulder, offering a quick, reassuring grin.
“See? Not so bad,” he says. “Next time, I’m letting you handle it without the assist.”
They make a sound that’s somewhere between a laugh and a nervous gulp.
And then, finally, he turns back to you.
He picks up your cup, spinning it slightly between his fingers before sliding it across the counter toward you.
“Here you go,” he says, his voice just a little softer now, a little more directed at you. “Hope you like it.” And then, after a pause, his smirk deepens.
“If not… guess you’ll just have to come back so I can make it up to you.”
Your fingers tighten around the cup, heat creeping up your neck. Your brain offers you several possible responses—flirty, cool, clever—and you say none of them.
Because all you can think about is how easy it would be to just ask. His number. His shift schedule. Anything that would let you turn this brief interaction into something more.
But the words sit heavy on your tongue, unspoken.
You just nod. And walk away.
And as you take your first sip, the new barista catches your gaze, their expression a perfect mirror of yours—slightly dazed, a little overwhelmed, and absolutely thinking the same thing.
This isn’t just a barista.
This is a problem.
And then you glance at the counter one last time, at the name tag pinned neatly to his apron.
Caleb.

Hi! I was wondering if I could request a prompt where the reader is out at night with the LIs, wearing a pretty outfit, a man just approaches her and rudely asks “how much for a bj?” How would they react/protect her from such a creep?
(Sorry, for my English, I hope it made sense haha🤞🏼)
Very Minor N/SFW Warning!! This one really made me laugh because this has happened to me before, and the situation mostly pans out with my own partner having to yank me away to avoid having to post bail on me later in the evening. Remember to leash your dogs kids! Thank you for the request!! <3
He's apologizing profusely to you because the ensuing bloodspray from how hard he punched the guy in the nose got on your dress and he genuinely feels awful about it.
There is not much to it, besides he acted embarrassingly quickly, to the point you wonder to yourself if he's just been silently waiting for this moment to come.
He's used to going out with you for drinks or evening dates- it's one of the more common ways for the two of you to hang out aside from spending the evening in one of your apartments with the other. Juggling work and clocking out with social activities would also mean walking late at night, to go to a movie or even on a snack run.
So needless to say, he has in fact, been mentally preparing himself for something like this to happen.
He can't help it.
He doesn't ever want to see you disrespected- he doesn't care the context. Work, family, friends-
And now, what, a stranger asking you for sexual favors?
You wait calmly with him while he speaks to the officers about what happened, trying to contain your giggles at how sheepishly he looks at the ground, his face still painted with the most adorable anger.
Quickly, he's pushed you behind himself and holding eye contact with the guy. It doesn't matter if he's drunk, or perfectly sober, Zayne won't excuse someone saying such a ridiculous thing to you.
He has his usual air of politeness and manners, but the bite in his voice is more than apparent, even to someone who doesn't know him. Dressed as nicely as he is with the air he carries around him, it's a weird experience for those who don't know how protective Zayne can get.
He will tell the man to give you an apology and back off, or there will be consequences.
You know what those consequences are, and despite feeling smug about how protective Zayne is, you're trying to grab his arm and stop him, to no avail.
If the creep tries to reach for you, Zayne will back up into you to force you back gently, and the man will quickly realize that he can't reach forward anymore-
Even as Zayne walks away with you, the ice is still creeping up the man's body. Slow enough, but still moving.
Hopefully an OTTO calls for help in time. Hypothermia at night would suck.
He's immediately between you and the guy, hand long since dropped your own as he crosses his arms and stares the guy down.
If you hadn't known him so long, you would expect him to fire off a tirade of insults and comments at the guy- but you know Rafayel. You know him well.
He tells the guy to back off, in the most simple of terms as he glare is enough to set the man alight- and Rafayel's evol does just that when the guy doesn't seem to back down- lighting up the shoulders of his clothing and causing him to flay around screaming, as Rafayel pulls you to keep walking.
The amount of tasteful compliments on your attire rise, and you know he's doing it to keep you from internalizing the earlier interaction and stop dressing how you want.
He doesn't need some random freak to keep you from expressing yourself how you want to. Of course, he'll always find you attractive, and the little outfit you're wearing is doing numbers to him, but that's not his focus here at all.
He wants you to feel comfortable, confident-
And he'll do everything in his power to make sure you always do.
I am not entirely sure the man who's asking you has finished his sentence before he's slammed once against a nearby building and then released.
Sylus makes no motion to indicate that it was his doing, continuing to walk along with you to wherever the two of you had been going in the first place-
But you knew.
You had seen his stupid red mist envelope him.
For a second, you'd been scared that he was going to kill the guy- and while you knew someone who was comfortable saying such a thing to someone needed to be put in their place, 'murder' was not at all the same as 'putting someone in their place'.
No, he was just slightly- sort of- broken.
Just a bit.
Sylus won't react much, he may give a passing comment about the man, but otherwise, he's back to complimenting you or conversing with you about whatever subject you two had been discussing prior to the creep showing up.
"Sorry, sweetie. I know you don't like bugs. I tried to handle it as... efficiently, as possible."

A/N: A series of headcanons about the LIs as your gym instructor. Requests are very much open.
SYLUS
• Sylus isn’t just a gym instructor—he’s an executioner. He doesn’t train people; he breaks them. Every session is a test of survival, and he watches your suffering with just enough amusement to make you question if he enjoys this. “If you collapse, I’m leaving you here,” he deadpans as you struggle to get off the mat.
• He has absolutely no patience for whining. The moment you start complaining, he doubles the intensity of your workout.
“I think my legs are going to give out—”
“Perfect. Let’s add weights.”
• He’s unnervingly quiet when you struggle. No words of encouragement, no sympathy—just the piercing gaze of a man who expects results. You groan, dropping the dumbbells. He just stares. “…Say something.”
He blinks. “Pathetic.”
• He refuses to let you lift with bad form. He will physically adjust you without hesitation. Hand on your back, fingers pressing into your shoulders, grip firm against your waist. He’s indifferent to the proximity—you, however, are not. “Relax,” he murmurs, voice just above your ear. “You’re tense.”
• His personal space boundaries don’t exist—especially when spotting you. You’re struggling under a barbell, and suddenly, he’s there. Arms bracketing yours, voice smooth and unbothered. “Push,” he orders. You try, but all you can focus on is the way his breath fans against your cheek.
• He subtly tests your endurance just to see how much you can handle. He calls it training. It’s actually just entertainment. “You can take more,” he muses, adding another plate to the bar.
• Flirts without technically flirting. Everything he says could be taken as platonic—but the way he says it? Absolutely not. “You’re improving,” he muses.
You blink. “Wait… was that a compliment?”
He shrugs. “Take it or leave it.”
• Refuses to admit he cares, but it’s obvious in subtle ways. He’ll shove a water bottle at you without comment. Drag you to a bench when you look exhausted. You pant, wiping sweat from your forehead. “I’m dying.”
He clicks his tongue, tossing you a towel.
• Competitive to an unhealthy degree. You mention beating him at anything, and suddenly, he’s taking it personally. “I ran five miles today,” you say, stretching.
He glances over. “Make it ten next time.”
• When he does praise you, it’s rare—but devastatingly effective. It’s not often, but when it happens, it lingers. “Not bad,” he murmurs, watching you finish your set.
Your brain malfunctions. “Wait—what?”
He smirks. “Nothing.”
SCENARIO
You’re on the ground. Not sitting. Not crouching. Collapsed.
Sylus stands over you, arms crossed, entirely unimpressed. “Pathetic.”
You groan. “I literally can’t move...”
He tilts his head. “You have another set.”
Your glare could burn through steel. “Sylus. My legs are gone.”
He crouches beside you, gaze unreadable. “You’re fine.”
“I’m—” You gesture weakly. “—not fine.”
There’s a pause. Then—without warning—he hooks an arm around your waist and pulls you up like it’s nothing.
Your hands instinctively grab onto his shoulders, and for a second, the world tilts. His grip is steady. His voice, lower than usual.
“See?” he murmurs. “You’re still standing.”
You blink up at him, heart hammering. “I—”
He smirks, releasing you. You immediately stumble.
“Alright,” he says, stepping back, tone casual. “Next set.”
You hate him. You really do.
ZAYNE
• Zayne is a gym instructor with the patience of a saint and the intensity of a drill sergeant. He’s not the type to yell or get overly aggressive, but his expectations are high. If you slack off, he doesn’t scold you—he just looks at you. And somehow, that’s worse. “Again.” His voice is calm, almost indifferent, as you struggle through push-ups. “Don’t stop until you get it right.”
• He never sugarcoats anything. If your form is bad, he’ll tell you. If you’re being dramatic, he’ll call you out. But if you actually push yourself, he will acknowledge it.
• You pant, struggling to finish your reps. Zayne watches. “You’re stronger than that. Keep going.”
• The kind of instructor who gives subtle but sharp praise. He won’t shower you with encouragement, but when he does give a rare compliment, it sticks. “Well done,” he murmurs after you break your personal record.
• Prefers efficiency over flashy workouts. He doesn’t waste time with trends or gimmicks. He’ll give you a program that works, but you will definitely suffer. “No shortcuts,” he says, handing you a heavier weight than you expected. “Do it right, or don’t do it at all.”
• Not overly physical unless necessary. He’s not the type to adjust you constantly, but if your form is off, he will fix it—without hesitation. One hand at your lower back, the other guiding your grip. “Here,” he murmurs, voice close to your ear. “Straighten up.”
• Expects discipline, but isn’t completely heartless. He won’t let you quit, but he does notice when you’re genuinely struggling. His version of kindness? A short water break instead of immediate death.
• You groan. “Zayne, I think I’m dying.”
He hands you a water bottle. “Then hydrate first.”
• Completely unbothered by whining. Complain all you want—he won’t react. In fact, the more you complain, the more weight he adds.
• “My legs feel like jelly—”
“Then we’ll strengthen them.” He hands you a resistance band.
• Is meticulous about post-workout recovery. He doesn’t just push you—he makes sure you recover properly. That means stretching, hydration, and making sure you’re not being an idiot. “You better not skip your cooldown,” he warns.
You smirk. “Why? Will you carry me home if I collapse?”
His gaze flickers to you. “No, but I’ll make sure your next session is worse.”
• Doesn’t like distractions. If you come to the gym to chat or mess around, he’ll shut it down fast. “Focus,” he says when you start rambling between sets. “Or leave.”
• Gives zero reaction when people try to flirt with him. Other gym-goers have tried. He never takes the bait. You watch a girl giggle as she asks him for ‘help’ adjusting her form. Zayne corrects her stance in under five seconds, completely unfazed. “Done.”
She pouts. “That’s all?”
He turns to you instead. “You’re up.”
SCENARIO
You’re wheezing. Absolutely dying.
Zayne watches from the side, arms crossed. “You have five minutes left.”
You groan, gripping the treadmill’s handles. “I’m—gonna pass out.”
He tilts his head, unimpressed. “You said that ten minutes ago.”
“I meant it this time—”
The treadmill suddenly increases speed. You yelp.
“ZAYNE—”
He doesn’t react. “You’ll survive.”
You stumble, barely catching yourself. “You’re evil.”
There’s a flicker of amusement in his eyes. “Keep running.”
RAFAYEL
• Rafayel is the worst and best trainer you could have. He’s the type to look like he’s taking this seriously—clipboard in hand, stopwatch ticking—only to throw in something completely ridiculous halfway through your session.
• “Alright, time for squats. And if you mess up, I’ll make you do them while balancing a book on your head. Gotta work on that grace, cutie.”
• He is not a role model. Skips warm-ups, ignores cooldowns, and somehow never follows his own advice. He’ll sit there drinking an iced coffee while watching you struggle. “Push through the pain,” he says lazily, sipping his caramel macchiato.
• Absolutely makes things harder just to mess with you. If he sees you struggling, does he help? No. He makes it worse. “Oh, you’re having trouble with those weights? Here, let me fix that.” —and suddenly he adds more.
• Zero professionalism. If you start flirting, he will flirt back, and it’s a dangerous game. “You’re lucky I’m here to watch you suffer.”
You smirk. “Or maybe you just like watching me.”
He leans in. “And what if I do?”
• Overly dramatic when he works out himself. If you ever catch him actually exercising, he acts like it’s a life-altering event. “God, this is agony. Why do people do this?” —as if he’s not a personal trainer.
• Pretends he doesn’t care, but actually keeps a close eye on you. He’ll tease you for whining, but the second you actually look like you might faint, he’s already there, handing you a water bottle. “Tsk. You look pathetic.” A pause. “…Drink.”
• Loves making up fake ‘training techniques.’ Half the time, you don’t know if he’s being serious or just making things up for fun. “This exercise is called ‘suffering but make it aesthetic.’ Perfect for you.”
• Will absolutely let you take breaks if you bribe him. You want to sit down and do nothing? Cool. Just bring him a snack, and he’ll mysteriously forget how many reps you had left. “Fifty push-ups? Nah, I think it was… ten. Maybe five, if you’re cute enough.”
• Gets jealous if you take fitness advice from someone else. If you ever listen to another trainer, expect Rafayel to sabotage them in the pettiest way possible. “Oh, he told you to stretch like that? Ridiculous."
• The type to bet against you—then get personally invested when you prove him wrong. He wants you to fail, just so he can be smug about it. But when you actually push through? Yeah, now he’s impressed. “…Goos job,” he mutters when you finish a brutal set. Then, a smirk. “Do it again.”
SCENARIO
Rafayel leans against the squat rack, watching you struggle with your set.
“I swear—this feels heavier than last time,” you grunt, barely holding the bar steady.
He smiles innocently. “Hmm. Weird.”
You narrow your eyes. “You did something.”
“Moi?” He places a hand on his chest, mock-offended. “Darling, I would never sabotage my favorite student.”
You pause. “I’m your only student.”
“Exactly.”
It takes you a second before realization hits. “You added weight when I wasn’t looking, didn’t you?”
He hums. “Guess you’ll have to finish the set to find out.”
“…I hate you.”
He grins. “I love you too.”
XAVIER
• Xavier is terrifyingly efficient as a trainer. He doesn’t yell, doesn’t mock, doesn’t even look particularly invested. But somehow, he always gets you to push past your limits. “You said you were done? No. You have three more in you. Keep going.”
• His neutral expression makes him unreadable. You can be dying in the middle of a workout, and he’ll just watch with the same blank stare.
“Is this… supposed to be this hard?”
He blinks. “Yes.”
• Zero tolerance for excuses. You tell him you’re tired? He tilts his head slightly. “And?” Say your muscles hurt? “That’s the point.” Try to leave early? He will appear behind you.
• But he has an unexpected soft spot. The moment you actually can’t keep going, he’s already handing you water, fixing your form, making sure you don’t push past your limit. He won’t say it, but he’s watching closely.
• Deadpan humor that makes you question if he’s serious. “Xavier, I think I’m dying.”
He nods. “Yes. That is what training feels like.”
• He’s weirdly encouraging in a clinical way. He won’t shower you with praise, but when he does compliment you, it hits. “Your endurance has improved,” he murmurs, as if it’s just an observation. …But somehow, that makes you want to try even harder.
• Almost never raises his voice, but when he does? You listen. The one time you nearly drop a weight on yourself, his usual monotone disappears. “Stop.” You freeze, more from shock than anything. When you glance up, his eyes are sharp—focused entirely on you.
Then, just as quickly, he’s back to normal. “Fix your grip.”
• He doesn’t do ‘small talk’—but he remembers everything you say. You mention your favorite protein shake once, and a week later, he hands you one without a word. “Drink this. You’ll need it.”
• One time, when you were gasping for air on the mat, you look up to glance at your instructor for an approval, only to see him snoring on the floor.
• Stares at you a bit too intensely. You didn't want to assume, but you swore you caught him staring into your lower half when you were doing squats.
• He has a quiet but very possessive streak. If another trainer tries to offer you advice, Xavier is right there, staring them down. “She’s my student,” he says, and that’s the end of the conversation.
SCENARIO
You’re gasping for air, bent over after another brutal round of circuits.
“I can’t—” you wheeze. “That’s it. I’m done.”
Xavier watches you for a moment, then nods. “Alright.”
Wait. That’s it? No cold stare? No sarcastic remark?
You frown. “You’re not going to force me to keep going?”
He hums. “No. If you want to stop, you can stop.”
…You don’t trust him. “…But?”
He tilts his head, like he’s considering something. Then, his voice drops, just barely: “I just thought you were stronger than this.”
Your eye twitches. Oh. Oh, that bastard.
You grit your teeth, straightening up. “Fine. One more set.”
For the first time that day, he almost looks amused. “Good choice.”
CALEB
• Caleb is the ultimate ‘supportive but slightly terrifying’ trainer. He’s always smiling, always energetic—but somehow, that makes him even scarier. “C’mon, pip-squeak! Just one more set! You got this!”
…You’ve been doing ‘one more set’ for the last 20 minutes.
• He’s the type to bet against you just to make you work harder. “You? Finishing a full workout without whining? Nah, I don’t see it happening.”
…You push yourself just to prove him wrong.
• Runs next to you on the treadmill—effortlessly keeping up. You’re dying, but he’s jogging beside you, chatting like this is a casual stroll. “You hear that? That’s the sound of progress, babe.”
…The only sound you hear is your own wheezing.
• Looks like he’s playing around, but he’s actually analyzing every move. He’s laughing, teasing, but if your form is even slightly off? He’s immediately fixing it. “Tsk. You keep that up, and you’ll wreck your knees. Here—” He steps behind you, hands ghosting over your waist to adjust your stance. Too close.
• Not afraid to use distractions as motivation. If he catches you slacking? He leans in, voice dropping into something softer. “What’s wrong? Getting tired already? You know, if you do five more reps, I might have a reward for you.”
…You never ask what he means. You don’t want to know.
• Has no sense of personal space. He will absolutely drape himself over you if he thinks you’re resting too long. “Oh, don’t mind me, I’m just waiting for you to stop being lazy.”
• If you ever try to beat him at anything, he makes it a whole event. You challenge him to a sprint? He smirks. “Oh? You think you can keep up with me?”Suddenly, the entire gym is watching.
• He absolutely loves reveling in the thought that he's physically stronger than you, sometimes even asking for you to sit on him as he do push-ups. You never agreed.
• He gets way too proud when you start improving. The first time you lift heavier weight than before, he whoops—loudly. “Hell yeah, that’s my girl!”
…You pretend it doesn’t make you feel weirdly warm.
• If anyone else so much as glances at you? He notices. And suddenly, he’s all over you—grinning, slinging an arm around your shoulder. “So, sunshine. How about we grab a smoothie after this? My treat.” …He’s not asking. He’s staking a claim.
• Will not let you leave without stretching—and if you refuse? He personally helps you. “Fine. We’ll do it together.” Then he’s behind you, hands guiding your arms, breath way too close to your ear. “Deep breath. Good girl." You’re never skipping cooldowns again.
SCENARIO
You collapse onto the mat, sweat dripping down your face. “I can’t anymore.”
Caleb squats down beside you, grinning. “Oh yeah?”
You glare up at him. “I’m done.”
He tilts his head, considering. “Hmm. Shame.”
“…Shame?”
He leans in, smirking. Too close. “Well, I was gonna say—if you did ten more reps, maybe I’d let you pick where we grab food after.”
You stare. “That’s—”
“—Or,” he interrupts, voice dropping, “I could just pick for you. And you know I have awful taste.”
You groan. He’s the type to drag you to some all-protein, no-flavor nightmare.
He grins wider. “So. What’s it gonna be, pip-squeak?”
You sigh, grabbing the weights. “I hate you.”
He laughs, standing back up. “No, you don’t.”
ೃ⁀➷ FLUSTERING HIM — zayne, xavier, rafayel x gn!reader
it tends to be difficult to flustered the impenetrable dr. zayne. the crispy sizzle of bacon hits hot iron and the thick scent of popping fat flies into the air. you eye the tall doctor from your spot at the counter. a apron uncharacteristic of him is tied nicely around his waist. he cracks an egg with his empty hand, plopping the slimy yolk into a bowl only to whisk it into a frothy yellow mixture.
mornings with zayne have always been comforting. you watch him carefully, scurrying over to watch his cooking skills from behind. "do you want me to teach you?" he glances briefly down at you, a touch of affection in his green eyes. "no, i just wanna watch for now." he raises an eyebrow but says nothing.
a sleepy affection fills your heart and your arms slide around his waist from behind. pressing your face against his back, you take a chance to inhale the refreshing scent of his shampoo. zayne stiffens, taking a moment to pause his cooking as he feels your hands glide across his waist. heat floods into his cheeks and the tips of his ears.
"why'd you stop?" you murmur into the fabric of your shirt. "i couldn't remember what else i needed," he says, his calm tone wavering just for a second. his adam's apple bobs as he tries to ignore the way your touch elicits tingles up his spine.
xavier’s arm reaches over, pulling you closer as streaks of colorful light flash across the tv screen. you find your eyes growing heavy as you lean into his chest. the soft rising and falling from his breathing rocks you gently. you couldn’t remember by now who had suggested a movie, but neither of you seemed to mind much.
you don’t think it capable of flustering someone as calm and lackadaisical as xavier. but his own emotions are seen when the lights of the movie begins to fade and he strokes your arm with languid fingers.
you lean closer, intaking his scent as your eyes flutter close. sleep descends on you as the credits begin to roll. xavier skims over the varying list of names before turning to you. he nudges you gently, unsure if you’re awake or not. he calls your name but garners no response.
instead, you bury yourself deeper into his embrace, murmuring his name through parted lips. he pauses, staring you with a soft amazement and adoration. a tinge of pink colors his cheeks as he glances away from your endearing position. he wants to ask you not to catch him off guard like that, but lets out a sigh, covering his warming expression with the back of his hand.
it’s easy as breathing oxygen to fluster the stubborn rafayel. you snack on the stick-shaped chocolate biscuits, watching as he rambles on about one of his latest clients. you wonder if there was an easier way to get him to stop talking at the speed of light.
a final bite of your pocky sparks an idea and it seems rafayel has recognized it as well. he juts out his lower lip, pouting as he realizes you’ve dropped paying attention to his very important words. “are you listening?” he chirps, “this is very important, you know?”
you nod your head vaguely before placing the pocky stick against his lips. “first one to pull away loses.” you grin and you can already see the tips of his ears turning a lovely shade of red. he stares at you before delicately biting down on the biscuit. “fine, but i won’t lose,” he mumbles.
you already know you have this in the bag the moment you bite down, inching closer to rafayel little by little. your eyes lock with his for a moment before a mischievous gleam strikes in your eyes and you’re tilting your head to the side as if ready to kiss him. immediately as his lips brush against yours, he bites down and pulls away. his eyes dart away as he tries to cover up his neck and face turning into a burning cherry. he mumbles something about letting you win.
I am very normal about him
I have read this myltiple times and its one of my fav stories to reaf
Ahhhhhhhhh.. its too goooddddd

There have been recent sightings of a new savior in Linkon City named Soiree. Xavier was pretty much ignorant of the news until he encountered the said heroine.
Pair: Xavier x MC
A/N: A birthday gift for the Xavier girlies! Advance Happy Birthday Xavier! I really like that scene of Xavier getting jealous lmao
Word count: 3,350
Tags: Disguises, Lumiere hello, minor injuries and violence, MC being stubborn, being jealous
“There have been recent sightings of a new savior in Linkon City! Blending in darkness to fight for justice!” says the man on the radio. While preparing dinner and Xavier is doing the dishes, you two are listening to the city news as background noise and as awareness of what is happening.
“A new Lumiere on the loose?” You said, smiling a bit. Xavier gave you a look before the radio continued.
“This mysterious savior this time is a lady who blends in the shadows after skillfully defeating wanderers and evildoers roaming around, especially at night,” he said. “The other savior that graced us was Lumiere, who defeated powerful wanderers last sighted many years ago,”
“And there he is,” You chuckled, showing your appreciation for your hero. Xavier puffed his face in response.
“Her name is Soiree, a complement to the savior in the dark to the savior in the light,” The voice said on the radio.
“It has been a while since Lumiere was last seen,” You pondered. “I miss my knight so much,”
“Well, maybe he doesn’t need to show up,” Xavier said with a puffed face as he finished the dishes and turned off the radio to play music. “Maybe he has more important priorities at the moment,”
“Like what?”
“I don’t know… Maybe being with his beloved,”
You blushed.
You remembered the trick you did for Xavier to admit many years ago. You appreciate that he saved you twice in that identity, but you are more grateful he saved you so many times as the love of your life, Xavier, your favorite dummy who gets jealous and sulks whenever you talk about Lumiere.
“I wonder why this Soiree is showing up lately…” Xavier pondered. “Maybe because of the recent crime rates and wanderers rising in the city,” You suggested. The past months were no better, there’s just been much work lately in the Association.
“It’s going to be fine, she doesn’t have to do that,” Xavier said. “Anyway, time for your medication,” he ordered. You groaned as a complaint. Because of the recent events, your heart has been under a lot of stress lately. Hence, you currently have less workload in the meantime and are under the watchful eyes of Xavier.
“Same to you in changing your bandage,” You retorted back. “I will after you take your medicine,” he said in return. You’ve been worried about him the past weeks, he was often gone to do his duties as a Hunter. He goes home bruised and needs first aid. You feel bad for not helping him that much. Sometimes you miss him because he had to go away for days for missions.
“You’re doing that face again,” Xavier said. “You do not have to worry about me. You should focus on recovering more…” He placed a pill on your palm, which is your heart medicine, and then offered you a glass of water.
“I want to help you, your body has taken much damage lately,” You swallowed the pill before drinking the water.
“Focusing on your health more is already a help for me, the sooner you get better, the sooner we can be partners again,” He smiled. You sighed and smiled back. “Okay, okay,” He patted your head.
Suddenly, several warning beeps are heard in your watch and his. Your eyes widened.
“High leveled wanderers!” You exclaimed. “But Alpha hunters are currently fighting on the other side-” Xavier quickly gets ready to fight. “Xavier?” You stand up and realize. “You’re taking all of them?!”
“I can handle it, I don’t have a partner but I’ll manage,” he said. Then he stopped. “And no, you can’t, end of discussion,”
You know Xavier is strong but not in his state and in that many. You followed him but he only stopped you, and kissed you before leaving. You wanted to follow him but he wouldn’t want that.
Xavier dodged the attack as several wanderers were going in his direction. He summoned multiple light-fused swords and charged at them. He panted as he still had bruises and recovering from the last battle. He barely dodged an incoming attack and he flew to the ground. Despite the pain and his sight went blurry, he still gets up and kneels. He has to fight, someone is waiting for him back home.
He breathes, summoning more light to his sword. The wanderers rush towards him and anticipate the blow of their attacks.
Dark swords rush through from a distance as a black-clad figure gets down. Xavier gets up and runs to the wanderers, slicing through them. The swords are different and seem customized as he observed. In landing back to the ground, the wanderers are extinguished. Xavier looked at the figure, a woman wearing a black coat, covering her body. He stared at her eyes looking at the finished wanderers before she looked back at him. Her eyes widened.
“Soiree?” he said. The figure jumps and runs, he quickly turns into specks of light but as he appears near her, she quickly goes to the alley and vanishes in the dark.
After seeing she was completely gone, Xavier took deep breaths, taking internal information about what happened. He looked at his watch as he finished the mission, he saw your location, you were back in his room, waiting for him. He smiled as he returned.
“There have been reports that the mysterious individual that did the recent clearings of wanderers can be Soiree…” as the voice heard on the radio. You noticed Xavier tilted his head as if he was interested. You were tending to his wounds by putting on fresh bandages. The last mission was successful, but he was battered badly.
“I guess we got a new Lumiere,” You hummed. Xavier seemed to be deep in thought. “I saw her,”
“Huh?”
“I saw Soiree in the last mission,” he said. You gasped in response. “Oh! What does she look like? What did she do?”
“She… She helped me,” he replied. You raised your eyebrow, he seemed to be deep in thought. “I did warn you about the last mission…” You sighed. “But I’m just glad you are alright,” He is still deep in thought but smiles after. “How was she? Was she as good as the news said?” You asked further.
“She is a good swordswoman, that I can say,” he replied.
Footsteps are heard in the dark alley as Soiree finishes another slaying of the wanderers. She is panting as she sheathes her sword. She can hear her heart pounding hard as she runs to the other street to fight another set of wanderers. At the end of the alley, she saw a familiar figure running towards them. She runs faster and presses a button in her sleeve causing her to teleport.
Xavier can feel the toll on his body as he keeps on fighting wanderers nonstop this week. He sleeps all the time and longer whenever he manages to go home, to keep you from getting worried. But this is for your own good, he prefers dealing with it all than seeing you hurt in battle. In his peripheral vision, he saw swords going towards the wanderers. He turns to see Soiree, who has been around the past weeks, getting rid of the wanderers. He tries to get in contact with her, but she vanishes before he can do so.
He slashes using his sword and sees Soiree fighting as a wanderer gets closer to her. Xavier transforms into balls of light and speeds towards her, grabbing her body away from the wanderer’s smash. They tumbled down from a distance, Xavier quickly summoned a barrage of light swords, ending the wanderer. He shielded Soiree before looking at her again, she also looked exhausted even if all he could see were her eyes.
“Are you alright?” he asked. Soiree quickly got up and seated away from him. She only managed to nod in response. Soiree stood up and ran. “Wait!” Xavier called but she was already gone, blending in the darkness of the alley. He could’ve teleported to her, but she looked really tired. He understood that. He looked at his watch, checking on how you’ve been, the dot on the screen representing you is in his kitchen. He smiled.
Xavier went home and smiled as you greeted him. “Welcome home!” you said as you hugged him. “I’m back… I also got some takeout for dinner,” he said, hugging you back and offering a bag of food. Your eyes lightened up. “Yay! I’m starving!” You grabbed the bag and started to set the table. After a few minutes, Xavier returns, wearing fresh, comfortable clothes. “You look tired. You should rest for a bit,” you said as you got a spoon to scoop some rice. “Same as you,” he replied. “Are you okay? You look sleepy,”
“Huh?” You blinked. “It’s probably the heart medicine, a side effect,” you replied and took a spoonful. He chuckled, as you looked adorable. The radio is turned on and hearing reports about Soiree saving the city today. You looked at him, he seemed engrossed in the news now.
“Someone is interested in the city heroine now,” you teased. Xavier looked at you, confused but his eyes showed something else you couldn’t pinpoint.
“No, I’m not… She is fighting a lot lately,” he said. “I don’t see her purpose on why she is doing this,”
You hummed. “I mean, what was your purpose when you were Lumiere?” Xavier stopped eating at the question and looked down. “Lumiere just wants to protect someone he cares about,”
You’re touched at his response, cheeks slightly went pink. “I think it would be the same for Soiree,” you said. “Maybe she just wants to protect someone… The people she loves,”
Xavier chuckled. “Hmm… Honestly, you reminded me of Soiree,”
You blinked, a bit stunned. Then you returned to eating a piece of dumpling. “How so?”
“Well, she is good with the sword,” he commented. “She is a reserved person, though,” You pouted while he smiled. You know that they come across multiple times, you can’t help but miss the action… And miss battling alongside him. The way he talks about Soiree, it is a compliment but you can’t help but to feel things.
After that wonderful dinner, you two cuddled on the bed. Xavier slept so fast that he was really tired. You stared at him, basking in his features. You were worried about him, you felt he was also fighting on your behalf, as you are currently out on medical leave.
You watched him sleeping soundly, missing his presence. You just wanted him to be beside you, and you beside him. He had a knack for leaving, with or without notice, in the past. So many coincidences of your wishes and hopes being granted, often in your worries about wanderers getting frequent and the next day, it was all normal. He did everything that he could for you, it made you feel you wanted to do the same for him.
Your watch suddenly beeped a warning, a wanderer was sighting in a nearby town. You panicked and looked at Xavier, he was still sleeping soundly.
You run to the darkest alleys to get to the town. You saw the vast electrified cloud in the distance, spawning out wanderers. A voice was heard in your earpiece. “You can’t keep doing this, you’re not well enough for this type of wanderer!”
“Not now, Jeremiah! I can do this!” You yelled and summoned your sword. You start summoning more swords spinning around you as you get closer.
“Get back! The only Hunter that defeated this kind of wanderer was Lumiere!” He reported.
“Well, Lumiere isn’t coming back! I won’t allow it,” You started to slash as the swords around you went straight at the wanderer. You dodged the incoming attack but the wanderer was fast and pounded its fists on the ground, creating shockwaves as you were swept away. You got slammed on the wall, sight being dizzy and heart pounding. You stand up and barely dodge the attack. You ran and hid behind the alley wall, noticing you couldn’t lift your arm without causing so much pain. You use your other arm to hold your sword, using your Evol to enhance the sword, summoning multiple swords all at once to stab. You keep your distance as you continue to summon, and your heart starts to beat harder causing pain and making you dizzy. You stumbled as the wanderer gathered his fists again to create a shockwave towards you.
A tiny light appeared above and increased brighter, speeding to the wanderer and a huge illusion of a sword shoots down on it. It screamed in pain as it stumbled back. The figure gets down on the ground and flicks his sword.
You are stunned as he moves his head slightly, showing his mask. ‘Xavier… Lumiere?’ He didn’t speak, he returned his focus to the hostile wanderer. You saw him dance around the enemy and slash with accuracy. Your sight gets blurrier as you see him rush towards the enemy, you hear a roar before a complete silence, only the noises of the rubble. The bright figure dispels his sword as you try to stand and move. You only see sparkles of light that become warm arms before your sight turns dark.
You stirred and opened your eyes, your eyelids felt heavy but you had enough energy to function. You felt sore, in moderate pain and you still can’t move your arm. As you get up, you realize you are on the side of a building, watching the people below doing a clean-up and investigating the matter. You felt the mask fabric around your face, hence you convinced yourself that your face was not exposed.
“How are you feeling, Miss Soiree?” You snapped and looked, seeing Xavier- Lumiere beside you, as his face was covered by his mask and wearing the Lumiere outfit. You took a peek to his eyes, the cerulean orbs staring at yours intently, a lot more icier than usual. He is mad, mad.
“I’m okay,” you spoke softly, praying that he won’t notice anything, or even think anything beyond Soiree.
“I will accompany you for a medical assessment afterward and make sure you are well. What you are doing is dangerous,” He said sternly. You did remember Xavier saying that Lumiere is like a knight, handsome and gentle, while he is harsh and cruel. Well, he is wrong, as this Lumiere can be the other way around now.
“I can handle it… I’ve been worse,” You replied, still hesitant. Your answer ticked something to Lumiere.
“Miss Soiree, you almost died… People who love you would be devastated to hear that, especially… The one who wants to protect you,” he replied. Despite his mask obscuring his face, his tone and eyes feel like they would stab an enemy. You looked away, concluding to somewhat come clean by responding to his statement.
“He does, always,” You hugged your knees, unaware you said ‘him’, which surprised Lumiere. “I did this because I want to protect him. He… He has been away so much lately,”
Lumiere looked away as if he was feeling guilty.
“I felt I’m not helping him enough, in a direct manner,” you continued. “I thought, maybe if I can finish without constraints, maybe he would be around more,” There was silence afterward, while the moonlight shone on them.
“Maybe you can just ask him,” Lumiere said. “Seeing you being unresponsive earlier, it scared me… What more of him? You almost left him,”
“I’m scared he might leave me too,” you responded as your deep anxiety opened. You can see his eyes widen in a split second before looking away.
“I just… I just want him to-”
Before you can react, he pulls down your mask as he leans close to kiss you. You were stunned, but you closed your eyes, basking in the warmth of the kiss as you placed your hands on his chest. You two parted, panting to such an intense kiss, as it has been a while.
You stared at his eyes, you saw there were so many emotions all at once. Your hand went to his cheek, then gently to his mask, his brow knitted, wanting to pull back, but when he didn’t look like he was opposing, you removed it. You can see his handsome face, Xavier’s, in full view. He was deeply worried as he pulled you closer to him for an embrace. His breathing is jagged, desperate to feel you again.
“I am still upset,” he whispered. “But I’m glad you’re okay,”
You leaned closer to feel Xavier’s chest. You can feel his breathing flowing near your ear. “I’m sorry… I’m really sorry,”
Xavier laid his head on your shoulder for rest and comfort, especially in hearing your heartbeat being steady. The awful memory of you being hit in the attack when he arrived, he lost his control.
He did release you after a few minutes, as he remembered that you were still injured. “Let’s go… I’ll bring you to the hospital,” You opened your mouth. “No buts,” he said, pouting. You quickly surrendered, you’re still not in the clear after all.
You were under the monitor now after being confined for a couple of days at the hospital. Xavier seemed to not be entertaining any conversation other than your well-being. He didn’t leave and tendered to your healing process. So much that…
“Ugh, healing porridge again,” You said in disgust.
“You need to recover and this is doctor’s order… I’m just simply imposing it,” Xavier said as he crossed his arms. He then sat beside you. “This wouldn’t happen if Miss Soiree just behaved herself,” his face is neutral but calm.
So he is opening it now, as you thought. “How…” you trailed off. “When did you know?”
He looked confused at first. “The moment you saved me,” He said. You were shocked. “Huh?!” That early! He went closer to you.
“I know those pretty eyes,” Xavier replied as you stared at him. “I know how you fight too,” You blushed in response as you looked away. “I was just trying to…” You stuttered.
“I understand… I’m sorry I keep going away,” he then looked away, rubbing his nape.
“It’s alright, sorry that I did… This,” you apologized. “You were really working yourself to the limit,”
“I’d rather do that than see you struggling and hurt. You were ordered to rest and now it was extended because of what happened. Your doctor even scolded you,” Xavier said and smiled a bit. “Still, I acknowledge my lapses. Just… Please don’t do this again. You can be Soiree again if you want… Just let me know,”
You can see his deep concern, he just thinks about your well-being as the top priority. You simply nodded and moved your head onto his shoulder.
“I know Jeremiah helped you,” he spoke.
“Uhh… Yeah,” You sheepishly responded. “Please don’t be too hard on him, I asked him-”
“Too late,” he hummed. You sighed, you have to make it up to him as well as you can just imagine what Xavier did to the poor florist.
“You modified your tracker synced in mine so you’ll be always at the house, despite you were actually outside,” he continued. “Soiree is clever, Lumiere would be impressed,”
You pouted. Xavier noticed your expression. He suddenly carried you to his lap. “Xavier!” you squeaked.
“What? Is someone jealous because I was giving compliments to the ‘savior in the darkness’, Soiree?” he smirked, feeling vindicated to what he felt about Lumiere.
You crossed your arms. “You were complimenting her a lot,” Xavier chuckled.
“Who do you like more - Me or Soiree?”
Xavier was a bit surprised at the question, then chuckled again. He touched your face and leaned closer for a kiss. Your foreheads are close together afterward, feeling the warmth of each other.
“My favorite… The dummy who was so stubborn that I had to call Lumiere to save her,”

You and Xavier usually ate lunch together, be it after a mission or after training. Perks of being partners at work.
Today, however, was different.
Xavier had to join the analytics department for a debrief after a special solo mission.
He originally planned on flaking and leaving with you as soon as you had wrapped up your work.
But once you had persuaded him a bit with promises of spending the whole day together tomorrow and a long cuddle session tonight, he caved.
You patted his head as he was pouting at you and pressed a small box to his chest, before turning around and waving goodbye.
He barely registered the tupperware he was holding, as he longingly stared at your retrieving back.
Once you were out of sight, he looked at what exactly you had given him.
Taking in the silver box, he smiled to himself.
The corners of his lips turned upwards and he went to sit down on the nearest chair.
You expected him to eat it during a short break during the meeting, but he couldn’t wait that long, knowing you prepared something for him.
He was contemplating taking out his phone and telling you to come back and join him right now, eat the food you had made for him, together.
He stopped that train of thought, thinking to himself that he didn’t want to drag you back here.
With a slight shake of his head and sigh escaping his lips, he went to open the box.
The first thing he noticed was the amazing smell of whatever you had packed him, the second wasn’t the food but a little yellow note stuck to the roof of the lid.
“Hang in there, Xavie.
I’ll make it worth your while tonight ;)”
The tips of his ears turned red, he stared at the note before breathing out a chuckle.
You really knew how to motivate him, didn’t you?
Before he could linger on the note for too long, he heard a chipper voice behind him.
“Oh, hey Xavier! Mind if we join you?”
He saw Tara and Simone put their bags on the table he was sitting at.
He gave them a small nod of acknowledgement, immediately tuning them back out again after.
He hid the note in his pocket, thinking about how to repay you later.
Zayne was used to you preparing his lunch for him, he considered you bringing him his lunch during his breaks as part of his work routine.
He loved getting to see you amid his packed schedule, finding a way to sneak in some extra time for you two to spend together.
Unfortunately, today you couldn’t drop by and bring it to him in person, since you had to go on a mission outside of town.
Instead, you had handed him his lunchbox this morning, kissing him on the cheek before heading out.
He usually looked forward to his break because he knew he’d be able to see you.
Today, that perk fell away, so once his break time rolled around, he kept on working on some reports.
Until he heard the notification sound he put specifically for you,
“Don’t forget to eat, Dr. Zayne!”
“I miss uuuu, can’t wait to see u later”
A small smile graced his lips, an expression you easily brought out of him.
“Take care of yourself. I’ll be alright, as long as you’ll return in one piece later.”
Once he saw you were offline again, he put his phone away, finally taking out the lunchbox you had prepared for him this morning.
He placed it on his desk, taking the lid off.
He immediately noticed the small sticky note you had left.
“I’m “nuts” about you ;D enjoy your break, my love.”
Zayne silently quirked a brow as he read the message you wrote for him.
He shook his head as a quiet laugh escaped him.
His face went back to its usual deadpan expression.
If anyone were to walk in, he’d appear the same as he usually did. You’re the only one who would’ve been able to make out his hidden amusement.
Before he went to eating, he quickly pressed the sticky note to the frame of the picture he had of you two on his desk.
He was looking forward to welcoming you home tonight.
Rafayel had been whining all morning.
He was being forced to meet up with some art brokers outside of Linkon.
He had come up with 10 different excuses and 7 different plans on how to get out of this, yet all of his attempts were shut down. By you.
Talk about betrayal.
You had spent the entire morning talking him into going, saying how it would benefit him and how he should just make Thomas’s job easier for once.
Why couldn’t you understand that he just wanted to spend as much time with you as he could!!!
The next best idea in his mind was coaxing you into coming along.
Too bad for him, you already had plans for the day.
“Just get going already, you big baby.”
You had said to him.
“The sooner you get there, the sooner you can come back. Probably.”
You paid no mind to his heart clenching pout(self proclaimed) and just pinched his cheeks.
Before he could attempt anything else, like tripping over a brush and pretending to have broken his back, or blowing up his car(who knew what lengths he was willing go to, just to get out of work? You certainly didn’t want to find out.) you pressed a chaste but sweet kiss to his lips.
“Have a good day, Rafayel. And be nice to Thomas!”
And before he knew it, you were out of the door.
A groan left his lips, as he rolled his eyes in annoyance.
He was willing to go along with anything you had planned today, he just wanted to be with you a bit more.
Finally, wrapping up his sulking once he realised you weren’t coming back and he really did have to get going.
He grabbed his bag and left out the door you had disappeared out of, minutes before.
Fast forward a few hours later, he’d been sitting in some stuffy office, barely paying attention to what Thomas and the man sitting across from him were saying.
“Alright, let’s take five.”
At that, Rafayel perked up.
Immediately getting out of his chair and walking towards the door.
“Always nice doing business.”
Thomas gave him a pointed look,
“Rafayel, we aren’t done here yet. You better not take too long.”
The purple haired man hummed without looking back and left the building as quickly as he could.
While he knew Thomas was probably gonna think he left, as soon as he couldn’t find him inside, he didn’t care.
He got in his car and rested his head against the steering wheel.
He stretched and went to reach into his bag to grab his phone to text you, when he suddenly saw something he hadn’t noticed before.
There was a silver box sitting in his bag.
You sweet, cunning little thing.
He immediately pulled the lunchbox out, a look of intrigue in his eyes.
Of course, you wouldn’t just cruelly send him into hours of boring work, without rewarding him!
He took the lid off, being met with another sweet, sweet surprise.
Your handwriting immediately caught his attention.
“You’re doing amazing, baby!”
A chibi you doing a thumbs up next to the message,
and on the bottom you drew two stick figures holding hands, surrounded by hearts.
He chuckled quietly and if anyone told you about the lovesick look on his face as he stared at the tiny note, he would’ve sworn they were lying.
He reached back into his bag to grab his phone, snapping a picture of the note,
“seems like ur down bad for me lol”
You didn’t have to know about the goofy grin on his face as he ate whatever you had prepared.
Whenever he could, Sylus would make sure you and him shared at least one meal together.
He knew, that due to your conflicting schedules, that wasn’t always possible.
By the time you’d wake up, Sylus’s day was slowly drawing to a close,
by the time you’d have lunch, Sylus would be fast asleep,
and by the time he’d wake up, you were finishing up the last of your work.
Yet he’d make an effort regardless.
Whether it be having breakfast, while you were eating your last meal of the day or keeping you company while he brought you breakfast, simultaneously getting ready to wind down after a night of work.
Obviously, that didn’t always work.
Sometimes you two would barely be able to see each other, missing one another due to your complicated relay race of a sleep schedule.
Today was one of those days.
Yesterday was your day off, but you had to get up early today to get to the Hunters Association on time, so you decided to catch up on some sleep and hit the hay early last night.
As Sylus had to get ready to leave, you had finished up your dinner.
Just as you got into the bedroom to call it a day, Sylus was heading out to tie up some loose ends.
With murmured declarations of love, you bid each other farewell. A quick kiss on the cheek, a soft peck on the lips and out the door he was and you were settling into bed.
Morning came rolling around, Sylus was taking longer than usual.
Before you knew it, you had to head out of the door, taking one of Sylus’s many cars to drive back to Linkon City,
not before sending him a quick text, though;
“I’ll get going now. Rest well, Sy!”
By the time he had gotten back to the base, you had long been gone.
He rubbed his eyes as he read your text.
Feeling groggy, he decided to skip his last meal and texted you back a good night message.
Once he had woken back up, he was half expecting you to be back, laying next to him but to his disappointment, you were no where in sight.
He headed to the kitchen as he checked the time.
5 pm. Surely you’d be coming back soon.
Sylus found Luke and Kieran lounging around the fridge and he quirked an eyebrow at them,
“You two usually don’t show your faces here, unless it’s time to eat.”
The twins looked at him, Luke scratching his neck and Kieran going back to looking around the kitchen,
“Well, boss…”
“Your bad luck struck again.”
“Very unfortunate, indeed.”
“Mhm, mhm!”
Sylus looked at them unimpressed, waiting for them to elaborate.
Luke and Kieran looked each other, silently trying to get the other to break the news to him.
“You see,”
“You might’ve just missed…”
“Miss hunter, boss-man.”
“Mhm, you totally missed her, boss.”
“She just left actually.”
Sylus could feel a headache forming, squinting his eyes at his henchmen.
“She was here? Why would she leave so soon, then?”
The twins shrugged in unison. Mumbling something about how unpredictable hunters were.
“She actually got here a few hours ago,”
“Said she didn’t wanna wake you.”
“Something about you needing the sleep.”
He heard one of them snicker, he couldn’t care enough to glare at the one who did.
Sylus ran a hand through his hair and a pointed look was enough to send the twins scurrying off.
He made a mental note to subtly complain to you about this later.
His mood souring after finding out he just missed you by a hair, he decided to have someone bring his breakfast up to his office, as he turned on his heel.
He spent the day in his office, working through a pile of reports and modifying Mephisto.
He sent you a few texts in between but gathered that you were busy, considering the lack of responses.
He was starting to think he shouldn’t have worked on Mephisto today, curious to see what you were up to, that was so much more important than answering his texts.
At around midnight, a knock resounded on his door.
“Come in.”
His hopes that it might just be you crushed, as he saw one of the twins walk in.
“Yo, boss-man, we were told to make sure you take a break. Instructions from the boss of all bosses.”
He placed a lunchbox on Sylus’s desk and disappeared as quickly as he had shown up.
Mephisto started cawing, reminiscing a laugh.
Sylus shut him up with a flicker of his gaze.
He reached for the black box and opened it.
His lips curled upwards into a half smirk as his eyes landed on the post-it note.
“The anticipation of seeing you later is driving me crazy.
Now, eat up!”
He could read you like an open book, even when you weren’t with him, yet having you be so open about your feelings made something inside of his chest bloom.
Even when you were busy, you still made sure to leave your mark on his day one way or another.
The soft look in his eyes was only ever reserved for you and he couldn’t wait to show it to you.
Don’t think he’ll forget about how you didn’t answer his texts, though.
Growing up, Caleb always packed your school lunch.
He would cook for you whenever you were home.
And even when he wasn’t home, he’d make sure you were fed one way or another.
That habit never stopped as you two got older.
He loved cooking for you, it’s the reason he learned how to make all of your favourite dishes.
You always wanted to return the favour but a good moment never presented itself.
From starting college and becoming a pilot to becoming the Colonel of the Farspace Fleet, his discipline only increased and so did his love for you.
Just when on earth could you find the time to make food for a man who got up at the ass crack of dawn to work out and make you a nutritious breakfast.
Well, once you found out that this same disciplined man skipped his own meals in favour of getting his work done, you decided to step your game up.
You had it all planned out, you’d take a few days off without telling him, meal prepping for him and getting to his apartment in Skyhaven without telling him.
As you arrived at his place and unlocked the door, stepping inside, your phone vibrated.
“Whatcha up to, pips? ;)”
You squinted around the room trying to see if he had any cameras inside.
Arriving at the conclusion that he probably(hopefully) just got a notification from his door being unlocked, you texted him back.
“Got the day off, gonna wait here until you come back.”
You felt your phone vibrate a few more times after you tucked it back into your pocket, you made your way to his fridge.
Wishing he could see your face of absolute disbelief at the sight of his pathetic fridge.
Empty. Entirely empty, aside from a few apples.
Who lives like this?
Does this man live off of apples?!
You placed all the tupperware you had prepared ingredients in, in his fridge.
Some rice, boiled veggies and proteins.
You’d have to give him a good talking to about this later.
A weird feeling settled in your chest, realising he only really takes good care of himself when you’re around, which is also just a by-product of him taking care of you.
With a sigh you closed his fridge, one more lunchbox remaining at the bottom of your bag.
Still ignoring the messages he had sent you, you left his apartment again.
Caleb was lounging in his office, he still had some time before he had to attend another meeting with the other Colonels and their subordinates.
He was wondering why you weren’t answering him, he was about to check the cameras around his apartment, when a knock resounded in his office.
He put his phone away, knowing he was about to get busy again.
-
His authoritative steps echoing through the emptying hallway.
The nurses and soldiers hurrying off after seeing his annoyed expression.
He paid them no mind, as he unlocked the door to his office.
As soon as he stepped inside, he took his hat off, running a hand through his hair.
Caleb couldn’t care less what the other people working there thought of him.
He gets his work done and he gets it done well.
Nothing else mattered, yet he couldn’t help but feel annoyed at these stuck up old men who dared to doubt his capabilities, be it out of sheer jealous or fear.
They got another thing coming, if they think they could mess with him.
He doesn’t take lightly to his duties, and he doesn’t take lightly to protecting you.
You. That’s who all this was about.
He would put up with about anything, as long as it meant you’d be safe.
Because you were everything to him, his sweet pipsq-
He lost his train of thought as he spotted the silly lunchbox sitting on his desk.
A pattern of red and green apples on it, decorated with stickers that had started to wear off.
It’s your old lunchbox.
He looked around his office, a grin finding its way onto his lips.
You’ve always been a sly one.
He sat down in his chair, inspecting the childish box.
As he took a look inside he was hit by the smell of braised chicken wings.
But he immediately lost interest in the food as soon as he saw the note you had snuck inside of the box.
“Learned from the best.
Eat well and rest well, Caleb.
Or you’ll have to face my fury >:(“
He chuckled to himself, you managed to get into his office undetected, just to drop off some lunch for him?
Caleb loved taking care of you.
It’s what he lived for, but he couldn’t lie.
He liked the feeling of you looking out for him as well.
You always manage to make all his doubts and worries disappear.
He’ll have to get creative with thanking you later.

~★~
Xavier was preparing for that day for weeks if not months. Finding a perfect spot, making sure that you'll be free from work, writing down the things he'll need to get; food, a gift, flowers...
You couldn't catch a glimpse of Xavier since the morning, when he left your apartment after staying the night, saying that he had some 'things' to take care of and he'll see you later.
You tried messaging him, but the only thing you got back in response was 'I'll see you later' or 'please be patient sweetheart'. You knew he was planning something, but you had little to absolutely no idea what that could be.
Was he planning something? A date perhaps? Maybe a gift? Did he do something stupid and needed to fix it without your knowledge? What was he doing?!
The thoughts were eating you up, but you knew better than to stress yourself out with his secrecy. After all: it was Xavier out of all people, he was full of mystery. You just hoped that he'll be safe.
Your day went by with you doing basic chores and being lazy, since you didn't have anything planned or today. You still had the prince of your heart in the back of your head, was he doing alright?
Deciding to try once more to get some information from him you picked up your phone, entering chat with him.
'Hey, you doing okay there?'
You turned off your phone about to put it back down and focus on the TV, but the moment the screen went blank you heard the sound of notification and in a second you turned it back on.
'get ready, I'll meet u in half an hour, dress comfy'
Instantly you shoot up from your seat, going to change your clothes still staring at the message from him.
Half an hour? Alright, but dress comfy to go where? Comfy as 'home-kind-comfy' or 'we're going somewhere when you don't need to dress up' or 'dress whatever you feel like, you'll still be pretty'?
Why were you overthinking this?!
It's probably just a simple date, right? So you want to look pretty without looking like you tried hard to look pretty.
HOLY YOU HAVE ONLY 30 MINUTES!
Instantly you started looking through your clothes, what is comfy but looks pretty and not like your home clothes? Let's try to look cute in half an hour, sure.
After looking through all of your clothes, with half of your wardrobe now on your bed, you were finally somehow satisfied with the results. Lucky you; did your make-up earlier out of boredom...
You were fixing your hair a little bit when the doorbell sound rang. Instantly you run towards the door, screaming 'a moment' on your way, and stumbling around your apartment at least twice.
Finally you made it to the front door, unlocking and opening them without checking the peephole first. There he stood, perfect like always, with a slight gentle smile on his lips that you returned instantly.
"Hello beautiful." his arms opened, inviting you for a hug and without wasting a second you found yourself in his embrace.
"Hi handsome." you giggled, giving his cheek a peek before breaking the hug.
"Get some shoes on, we're going out." you turned around to follow his instructions, bending over and unintentionally gracing him with the sight of your perfect ass.
He bit his tongue, memories of last night started floating around in his head, but the moment you stood up, ready to go with an innocent smile on your lips, all the improper thoughts left, his mind instead focusing on the present you.
"I'm ready." your high shoes clicked with every step you took while leaving your apartment. Hopefully he won't make you walk around too much...
Without words he took your hand, leading you to the elevator.
During the wait you hugged him close in the tight space, only with you two in it. He let you rest your head on his chest, in his head hoping for the evening to go perfect, his earlier exchange of words with Jeremiah replaying in his head.
"She'll be delighted. Trust me."
"It's just... Maybe she deserves someone better than me to spend her life with."
"Are you kidding me? For someone this smart you're really oblivious sometimes, aren't you?"
Xavier looked at him with a threatening glance, but Jeremiah was completely unbothered by it, still focusing on placing the stuff in the right places.
"She's crazy for you, last time you two came to Philo she was staring at you the whole time, like you were the only thing in the room, no actually, like you were the only thing in the world. Don't doubt yourself so much, my Prince." finally sparing a glance at Xavier he only smiled teasingly. He enjoyed seeing the always calculated and collected person being stressed over his love life.
"Xavier? We can get out now..." your voice broke him from his thoughts, the doors of the elevator were open.
"Yes, sorry." he walked out with you, hands still joined together.
You were walking the streets of Linkon, light conversion about work and life making the time pass faster. You didn't think about your destination, trusting him even if that would mean walking to the stars and back. You would follow him everywhere.
The sun was slowly setting, the warm light making Xavier look more eternal than ever, you couldn't help but admire him from the side, not noticing that he stopped and looked at you too.
"We're here." you woke up from the daze, your head instantly turned and you saw the edge of the forest before you.
"We're going there?" he nodded your head at your question. You looked down at your shoes, you were not prepared for that... "Alright." you braced yourself to try and avoid spraining your ankle. But then you got swept off your feet - literally "Xavier!"
"What?" he asked, acting clueless. He started walking with you in his arms, carrying you like a princess.
"I can walk!" your voice raised in shock.
"I know." was his only answer, not even looking at you, focused on the path ahead.
Knowing that there's no arguing with him you decided to get comfortable in his hold and admire him.
Damn he looked so hot all focused and calm, and all yours. You closed your eyes, your head falling to rest on his shoulder with your arms hugging his neck. You could fall asleep like this, but before your consciousness left for good he spoke once again.
"We arrived." you heard his soft voice right above your ear. Your eyes slowly opened, reviling the beautifully prepared 'tent' from some kind of see-through fabric, with lots of lights everywhere and a blanket(s) inside accompanied by various pillows.
You looked at him, he was carefully studying your reaction.
"You prepared this?" you smiled already knowing the answer. He nodded his head slowly.
"With a little help." gently he put you down onto the blankets. You took in the details of his preparations.
There was a small table beside you, you saw there was a small board with the photos you took together adoring it, beside it lying were snacks and a tiny box, wrapped up like a present. You looked around a little more, imagining how much time he spent here, preparing all of this for you.
"It's really pretty." your gaze returned to the owner of your heart, he sat down beside you, his eyes not leaving your figure for a single moment "Thank you Xavier." you took his hand into yours, squeezing it lightly.
"It's really nothing that impressive." instantly you made the 'zip it' move with your fingers. He smiled and chuckled quietly.
"It's beautiful here, and I know that it took you a lot of thought and time to prepare this, I'm so thankful to have you in my life." you sealed your words with a kiss to his lips, what was supposed to be a quick and sweet peek turned into a make out session the moment his hand flew to the back of your head.
You didn't complain of course. Eventually he pulled away, still caressing your hair gently, with one hand he reached for something behind you, a second later you saw a bouquet made out of what looked like a hundred little flowers, resembling a thousand stars shining in the night sky.
Your smile softened even more, he really did his best today.
With the bouquet now in your hands he moved away a little bit to reach for your shoes, gently taking them off for you. You couldn't help but coo at him a little bit, how could someone look so innocent and angel-like but in reality- hold on wrong thoughts.
Next two hours you spend on cuddles, talking about your past years and the memories you made together, sometimes pointing to the photos for reminders of various moments that passed. You were overjoyed with having him in your life, proud to hold his hand and announce to everyone that this perfect man is all yours.
The darkness of the night sky peeked at you, the moon listened to your stories intensively, sharing your intimacy, watching you with a silent promise not to speak of this moment to anyone.
You were lying down together, desserts he brought already eaten. Your bodies facing each other, the warmth and feelings in your eyes worth more than a thousand words.
Slowly he raised from his lying position, sitting at the entrance of the make shift tent and taking something from the small table into his palm.
He looked at you over his shoulder, soft gaze meeting your eyes, you looked at him with a silent question, but instead of words he graced you with his hand, gesturing for you to take it, which you did instantly, pulling yourself up with his help.
He brought you up to your feet, and walked a couple steps with your palm resting in his.
The grass gently tickled your feet, before he came to stop with you in front of him. The little box now in his other hand.
"I thought a lot those past couple of weeks." his gaze dropped from your eyes to his hand "I can't imagine my life without you in it. A thousand lifetimes are not worth as much as your love." his eyes came back to yours. His hand never let go of yours.
You were confused, not understanding what was happening, but then...
You saw his body slowly leaning down, until one of his knees met the ground. For a moment you still couldn't grasp what was happening. But then it hit you, your eyes widen.
"I know that this is unexpected, but believe me, it's been on my mind for the longest time. I didn't know how to ask you, if there ever will be a right moment, but then I decided to make a perfect moment myself." you squeezed his hand a little to let him know you are listening "I'm sorry that this is not what a princess proposal should look like... But I know that you value little moments much more than grand spectacles, and that's probably one of the reasons I fell so deeply in love with you. With you there are no expectations, no questing my ideas, you're always there to support me, cheering me on every time." you couldn't help but laugh a little, to which he responded with a small smile of his own "So, if you'll only grace me with the honor of having you as my wife, I'll be the happiest man in the universe." he opened the little box, a beautiful ring hid there, now showing to you the prettiest gem you ever seen.
"Xavier I..." you laughed, overwhelmed with emotions, you were not expecting THAT to happen today, how did he manage to hide his plans so well? "Of course I'll be your wife." in a split second the ring found itself on your finger, fitting perfectly. A second later you were snooped up into Xavier's arms with him spinning you around.
Your laughter was his absolute favorite sound in the world. He stopped his spins, but still held you in his arms, a kiss fell onto your lips, instantly you got lost in the feeling, you cling to him like to a lifeline. He hugged you tighter, not letting you move away for even an inch.
You didn't know what gods to thank for sending him to you, but you will forever be thankful for the opportunity to share your life with this man.
You pulled back for air, breaking the heated kiss, your hot breaths mixing. He still didn't let you go. For a moment you could swear you saw tiny lights flying around him.
"I love you my starlight." he didn't even let you say it back before coming back to launch at your lips. Oh how much you loved your innocent looking freaky fiancé.
Details: 600 words. Feel good food. Fluff. Tender, wonderful, caring, loving Caleb during that time of month. It actually fits if you just want a lil pampering from our boy too. Get you a man who can do both *cries* this is for you @gavin3469
You barely make it through the door before exhaustion weighs you down. The day had been long, and your body felt like it was fighting against you, every step home a battle you barely won. You had considered stopping by the store, picking up something to comfort yourself, but the thought of carrying even the lightest of bags felt impossible. You just wanted to collapse, to sink into something warm and safe and let the world fade away for a while.
You sigh as you unlock it, expecting nothing more than the quiet stillness of your apartment. But the moment you step inside, warmth greets you like an embrace. The air smells of apples and vanilla, and the soft flicker of candlelight casts golden glows against the walls. There’s something else too—something that smells like summer, fresh and inviting.
“Hello?” you call out weakly, toeing off your shoes.
No answer.
Your brows knit together as you shrug off your coat, your tired brain sluggishly trying to recall whether you had left any candles burning this morning. But then you see him.
Caleb stands in the kitchen, completely oblivious to your arrival, airpods in as he chops vegetables with effortless precision. His movements are fluid, a rhythm all his own, the steady thunk of the knife against the cutting board matching the beat of whatever music he’s lost in. He sways as he works, shifting his weight, rolling his shoulders in time with the sound only he can hear. It’s not forced, not even intentional—just an unconscious, easy sort of grace.
But that isn’t what takes your breath away.
Across the living room, near the couch, sits an enormous cube of heaven—a down duvet, the kind that screams luxury, thick and impossibly soft. A massive ribbon is tied around it, wrapped so perfectly it looks like a gift for a special occasion—something you’d dreamed of unwrapping on your birthday, carefully chosen just for you—rather than just Caleb being Caleb. The sight of it—of the effort, the quiet, knowing care behind it—makes something ache deep in your chest.
Caleb’s head lifts, eyes widening briefly in surprise, and then, in an instant, he sets the knife aside and crosses the room with the kind of intent that makes your heart stutter. He doesn’t hesitate, doesn’t ask—just gathers you into his arms, pulling you close, holding you like he’s been waiting for this moment all day. His warmth envelops you, deep and unwavering, the kind that seeps into your bones, making the exhaustion, the ache, the weight of the entire day fade into nothing.
The whole world disappears—there is only this, only him. His chest rises and falls beneath your cheek as he exhales, his lips pressing softly to your hair, lingering there as if he’s just as relieved to have you home as you are to be here. His hand slides down your shoulder, fingers squeezing lightly, grounding you in a way that feels like safety, like home.
“How has your day been, dear?” he murmurs, voice low and filled with quiet affection. “I’m so happy to see you.”
The words break something loose in you, and before you can stop yourself, your eyes well up. Maybe it’s the exhaustion, the pain that’s been gnawing at you all day, or maybe it’s just him—the thoughtfulness, the way he always seems to know exactly what you need before you do. His hands find your cheeks, thumbs brushing away tears before they can fall, and he presses the softest kiss to your forehead.
“Hey, hey,” he soothes, voice barely above a whisper. “I got you. You don’t have to do anything tonight. Just let me take care of you.”
You exhale shakily, leaning into his touch, grounding yourself in the quiet strength of him.
Then, as if reading your mind, he grins and tilts his head toward the couch. “Wanna try out your new duvet? Bet you won’t wanna leave it once you do.”
A laugh bubbles up despite yourself, and for the first time all day, the heaviness in your chest lifts just a little.
You nod, unable to find words, and Caleb grins before pressing a soft kiss to your temple. He takes your hand and leads you toward the couch—toward warmth, comfort, and the unwavering truth that, in this moment, you are the only thing in the world that matters.
