In all honesty though, since you know she's very creative, it'll never be the same thing and will always have its own tone every anniversary. girlfriend! ei who can become a bit possessive at times, you do understand where she's coming from, the way she has lost countless of friends along the way. Please! reassure her that you won't ever leave her side, you're hers and she's yours and nothing will change that. The relationship can become quite emotional, a strong bond will form between you but you wouldn't want it any other way. Ei will accept everything you have, whether it's your good and bad sides, but she expects the same of you.

girlfriend! yelan who tries her best to get you as far away as possible from her work, would never forgive herself if something were to happen to you because of her. She's very playful about it, always teasing you -with her hand only slightly above where you needed it the most- and changing the subject whenever you do want to know more about her job, but soon you'll drop the subject, since it's not okay to pry into other affairs anyways and knowing yelan, she must have a big reason why she isn't telling you everything about her life.

“I haven’t introduced you two. She’s Ayaka, my best friend.”

Ayaka is immediately heartbroken, but as a Yashiro Commissioner member, she knows better than to let her emotions reflect on her expression, so on the outside no one would suspect she’s been affected by those two words.

But she has. Oh, she has.

She’s fairly inexperienced when it comes to social interaction, all the more so when it comes to a romantic relationship. She trusts that you love her, and she’s endlessly happy for everything that you do for her, but she’s not quite so confident when it comes to her own doings. Ayaka is constantly questioning herself, whether she should voice her opinion more around you or not, should she ask to hold your hand or would it be inappropriate, should she tell you how deeply-rooted her affection for you is or would that be too much, or too soon.

So when she hears you call her your best friend instead of her lover, she can’t help but think that perhaps this is your way of telling her you wish to not be her lover anymore, and the thought alone breaks her heart.

She’s silent for the remaining of the outing, even long after your friend is gone. She tries to not let it show and continues acting around you as she usually does, but you know her well enough to see behind her mask of politeness, so you confront her when you arrive at the Kamisato state.

“Do you… By any chance, do you wish to end your relationship with me?” Ayaka quietly asks you, her blue eyes downcast.

You’re quick to shake your head and hold her in your arms, explaining that you said that to protect her reputation from prying eyes, in case she wasn’t comfortable enough yet to let other people know you two were dating.

Ayaka hugs you back so tightly and says that she appreciates the effort but she loves you, and that’s not going to change anytime soon. She very much would like to let the whole world know how much she cherishes you <3

“You already know her right? She’s my best friend, Kuki Shinobu.”

What.

Shinobu stares at you for a solid second, eyes narrowed in confusion before she turns to the other person and nods politely, choosing to avoid a direct confrontation if she can help it.

But the second the other person is gone, Shinobu turns to you, arms crossed over her chest.

“What was that?”

“What was what?” You innocently ask.

“Best friend?” She repeats your words, a slightly annoyed tone in her voice. “I hadn’t realized I’d been demoted.”

Shinobu is a confident person, she doesn’t doubt for a second that you still love her. She trusts you enough to know that if your feelings for her ever changed, she would be the first person you’d tell.

And as for her, Shinobu is just as communicative with her emotions. You’re always the first person she goes to when she has a situation to resolve. Of course, she can take care of things by herself, but she trusts your judgment and, most of all, she likes the feeling of having someone trustworthy to rely on. She cherishes that about you, and she feels safe and secure in your love.

That doesn’t mean she won’t revoke your cuddling privileges for a week straight for this prank. Shinobu loves you, but she doesn’t enjoy being teased, and you’ll have to learn that the hard way.

“Yes, she really is the captain of the Crux! Beidou, my best friend.”

Beidou is momentarily taken aback by your words. Best friend, you say? You weren’t saying that last night at the Alcor, when you were with her in her chamber.

She’s quick to draw a sly smile, taking one step towards the other person.

“Best friend and lover! I get to ride this,” she says, slapping your butt loudly, “every other night. Aren’t I lucky? Hahaha.”

She bursts out laughing, your friend goes completely red in the face, and you’re utterly mortified. You will definitely measure your words in the future, pranking Beidou seems to backfire for you more often than not.

Beidou is a confident person, she’s lived long enough to learn to not be easily swayed by words. When it comes to you though, it’s true that she has a soft spot, but that doesn’t mean she’s going to let you make a fool of her wherever you please. After all, you’re her dearest lover, who puts up with all her quarrels and quirks. Surely you won’t be mad at her for this <3

“I don’t believe you’ve met my best friend Ganyu before, right?”

Congratulations, you’ve officially broken the fluff ball.

Ganyu’s eyes widen at the statement, but she doesn’t turn to you. She immediately lowers her gaze, now glued to the ground as the other person introduces themselves to her too. She’s as polite as she can manage while the gears in her brain start speeding up, her heart also picking up the pace.

Best friend…? Ganyu holds the edge of her dress between her fingers, fidgets with it while you cheerfully chat with your friend. Are we not lovers? Did I… misinterpret the situation?

Ganyu is very confident in her work ethic and capabilities. However, due to her adeptus upbringing and the clear differences between her and the regular mortals, she is far from confident when it comes to social interactions. And despite all the centuries she’s roamed this world, Ganyu is still quite inexperienced when it comes to matters of the heart.

You don’t find it troublesome taking things slow with Ganyu, letting her set the pace in your relationship as she slowly explores her feelings towards you, not one bit. And she’s endlessly grateful for the feeling of comfort you give her, how you’re always attentive and endlessly kind when talking to her, when you spend your lunch times together, when you accompany her on her naps, or you treat her to a meal in her favorite restaurant; how you hold her face in your hands and press your lips to hers in a sweet kiss every morning.

So then… Why did you call her your best friend?

The moment your friend is gone, Ganyu grabs your sleeve, preventing you from walking. You turn to her, about to ask her if everything’s okay.

“Did I do something wrong?” She quietly asks. “You can be honest, I… I can take it.”

You’re quick to reassure her that no, absolutely no, she’s perfect and you were just saying that in case Ganyu wasn’t comfortable with other people knowing about the two of you.

Ganyu is reassured but it’ll take more than an apology to get your words out of her mind, so please treat her kindly and give her lots of kisses for the rest of the night!

“Meet my best friend, the Director of the Funeral Parlor, Hu Tao!”

Hu Tao doesn’t miss a beat when she steps forward, reaching out to grab your friend’s hand with a big smile plastered on her face.

“Best friend and best girlfriend Hu Tao, at your service!” She cheerfully exclaims. “Say, have you found yourself lately in need of a coffin but thought to yourself, Crikey, these things are way too expensive! Well, my new friend, bear it no longer! Cause I happen to have just the thing you ne— Hey!”

You drag Hu Tao by the collar of her coat, waving at your friend with the other hand.

“It was great seeing you! I’m sorry, I just remembered there’s somewhere we need to be!”

“What was that for? I could’ve landed a good deal if you’d let me.” Hu Tao crosses her arms above her chest when you let go of her. “Besides, what even was that? I know I’m your best friend, but you should introduce me as your lover, silly!”

“I don’t want people to think we’re that close.” You cross your arms on your chest, suppressing a playful smile.

Hu Tao’s quick to catch on your joke, and she’s even quicker to wrap her arms around your neck, giggling easily.

“But we are that close, hee-hee!” She says, pressing her lips to your cheek time and time again, leaving butterfly kisses on your skin. “There’s no escaping this now~”

“Her name’s Shenhe, she’s my best friend and an adepti disciple. Super cool, right?”

Shenhe immediately turns to you, a deadpan look on her face.

“Am I not your lover?”

“Well— Yes, you are.” You draw a nervous smile, your friend staring.

“I don’t understand. I thought you mentioned that our relationship is one of lovers.” Shenhe insists. “Do best friends also kiss and have se—“

“Shenhe—!”

“I see you two are busy, I won’t bother you for longer. It was great running into you!”

Your friend excuses themselves and leaves. You turn to Shenhe, your cheeks burning. She stares at you, registering your expression.

“Just to be clear. Are we still lovers?” She says, her winter eyes searching in yours for clarification.

Having grown up on the mountains, raised by the adeptus and bearing the binding red ropes that restrict the range of human emotions she’s allowed to experience, it’s safe to say that Shenhe’s not familiar with emotions, much less with the terminology for them. It’s just so many things to remember, so many cues and newfound sensations. Shenhe relies on you to guide her through them, to support her while she explores her own emotions, and you love every bit of the experience with her.

“Yes. Yes, we are.” You sigh and draw a smile, gently pushing some locks of hair behind her ear. Shenhe relishes in your touch. “You are my lover and my best friend. I love you.”

yelan — casino au

the beautiful woman who sits at the table, flipping three five dollar chips between her fingers, is notorious for spending all of her paycheck for the month in one go and either losing it all or bleeding the house dry. as an employee of the casino and the dealer of the table, it's your job to make sure she's not cheating.

still, lately she's been on a peculiar losing streak. any self respecting gambler who doesn't have a death wish would get up and choose another table, or maybe even another casino due to how badly she's doing. but instead she sticks around with a serene expression and a seemingly unlimited amount of money.

you shuffle the deck for the last time before your shift ends and notice yelan turning out her pockets, only to find them empty. she sighs and stands up, giving you a wink goodbye before her friend joins her and they start to leave. "why did you stick around for so long?" they ask, puzzled. yelan sighs, flipping a lock of hair behind her ear. "the dealer was so cute, i just couldn't help it ... "

the next time you get off your shift (a week later, one week of you waiting for her to show up so you can ask her out), she approaches you with a pair of dice in hand and with a smirk, challenges you to a game of blackjack. "if i win, you go on a date with me, and if you win — " you interrupt her, matching her mischievous look as you offer your question. "am i allowed to lose purposefully?

kuki shinobu — hanahaki au

she's happy that you have a new boyfriend who packs you bentou box lunches (with the same agidashi tofu and kappamaki she pushed down thoughts of making for you) and goes on walks with you and spends free time on cute fun dates that shinobu will never get to experience. really, she is.

just, it's a little hard to consistently acknowledge and reply to your delighted chatter about the newest adorable habit that your boyfriend has when she's constantly trying not to cough up piles of pink flower petals into her mask. she swallows them down the best she can and holds her breath, looking away to hide her watery eyes.

"why can't you ever be happy for me?" you demand, arms crossed over your chest. "i don't need you anyway, but i just thought my friend would be glad that i finally found someone who loves me!" unable to speak, she stands there like a statue until you finally leave in a huff.

that's when she decides she's doing more harm than good by staying around you. she steals away during the night so she can choke on the flowers without you having to see, and in the morning when you find her she'll be clutching a note in hurried handwriting spotted with red that tells you everything. pink petals spilled across it.

scaramouche — streamer au

resident starter of bs in the fanbase for the role playing game genshin impact, scaramouche never wastes time filming his newest videos on scandals around voice actors, streamers, and every other kind of drama that he could possibly stir up. everyone hates him, but everyone still watches his videos. partly for his content — which people claim to look down on, but actually are deeply invested in — and partly for his voice ...

owner of an incredibly popular leak and datamine channel that gives advice on building, quest priority, who to pull for, and everything else about genshin, you're beloved within the community as a big sibling of sorts to both veteran and new players. (thanks to your many supporters and your sheer amount of viewers who got into genshin because of you, you've also avoided a ton of incidents where your account was nearly deleted by hoyoverse for leaking, but that's another story.)

you two are basically polar opposites, and no one's ever seen you interacting before. but then a well known streamer (username @t4rt4rj4xx, a name that's come up many many times in scaramouche's videos) posts a series of photos of you and scaramouche on a date together.

lumine and aether — zombie apocalypse au

drifting from reality to reality, the twins explore each world before moving onto the next. it's always been easy for them with their limitless abilities — but they never expected to come across a planet overrun by zombies. creepy, shuffling creatures that almost take lumine's head off within the first two minutes, only being saved thanks to you, who shot the zombie with a crossbow right at the last second.

they would be fully prepared to abandon this world and flee, but for the kind stranger who protected lumine. they say it's to protect you, but they know you can protect yourself. really, they've both grown somewhat attached to you. you spend your days traversing the ruined earth and looking for signs of life among the rubble, the twins by your side.

as time passes and you grow closer to the twins, you start to wonder about their mysterious backgrounds. how they seem to know so little about this planet, how they dress and speak in a manner unlike any you've heard before, and how everytime you ask where they're from they say something like "that's not really important right now." still, you're friends, and as awful as the apocalypse is you and the twins are getting through it together.

but sometimes in the night, aether unwraps the scarf from around his neck and grimaces as he sees the purple, slightly pulsating bite mark on his neck. how long until it overtakes him entirely? how long until he turns into just another zombie with no thoughts but to kill? how long until his sister — and you — are forced to eliminate him too?

kamisato ayaka — royalty au

the princess ayaka is graceful, dignified, and kind. she handles every issue with poise and delicacy, loving of her kingdom and the people who live in it. the commoners love her, and so does everyone else. including you, the child of the royal guard's leader, who was assigned to be her bodyguard due to your closeness in age. you follow her everywhere and shadow everything she does. and in the process, you and her become friends.

behind the guise of the princess lies ayaka's true feelings; the desire to be free and adventurous without being tied down to the kingdom. as much as she loves her realm, she's tired of having to put it first before what she wants every time a problem comes up. she tells you everything and you listen, offering your thoughts in return, but keeping your mouth closed on your own feelings. she's more than you. more noble, more impressive, more perfect.

then the arranged marriage is announced. a beautiful girl from a kingdom called watatsumi, she's in every way your superior. looks, abilities, everything. your ayaka — though you never dared to think of her that way — marrying someone who wasn't you. it broke your heart just to imagine. but you could never say anything. you stood to the side and watched as kokomi and ayaka met for the first time. then you and ayaka went home and you listened to the silence filling the room rather than the usual conversation.

months pass and ayaka spends more and more time with kokomi instead of you, your talks becoming less frequent. but even so, your eyes are still drawn to her graceful figure and you still long to hear her elegant descriptions of fanciful banquets and pastimes reserved for royalty. it becomes almost unbearable to hear the latest gossip about them or even to hear their names together.

the day of the wedding comes. you watch ayaka walk down the aisle in a pale blue gown. you clap and congratulate the happy couple, before leaving. you can't cry in front of her. you're happy she's gotten to marry someone she really does care for. it's just hard for that person not to be you. but you don't notice her hopeful glance trailing your back, and the way she droops minutely before looking back to kokomi as she realizes you're not turning around.

a/n: There aren’t too many things known about Shinobu’s personality yet, so I’m sure once she actually releases we will be able to look back to this fic and say “kinda ooc, ngl”, but until then I’ll have to use my gut feeling.

Yelan knew about you long before you had even met her, she had to make sure that the new hire at the Liyue Qixing didn’t have any ill intentions after all, but once the two of you finally met, you instantly got along with each other, her relaxed and easy going attitude a welcome change from the stress inducing one’s your bosses seemed to have around them all the time. While your friendly and open attitude, that made even strangers reveal small secrets to you from time to time, being too busy enjoying their drinks to care, coupled with your willingness to tell Yelan about them if asked, made hanging out with you both a nice way to procrastinate while getting enough information to technically be considered part of her job.

Even after the two of you had become, what you would consider, good friends, there were still a lot of things you knew she wouldn’t tell you about, most of them about her job. You had asked once about why exactly she needed information about a citizen of Liyue, assuming of course that her job required her to do so, she made it very clear that, since it was part of her job, she wouldn’t tell you. You completely understood, never asking about such things again, while simply enjoying spending time with her. But there were things you knew about her that most others, who even knew about the existence of a woman called “Yelan”, wouldn’t even dream about knowing.

You had finally managed to get a few days off, deciding that it would be a great opportunity to visit Yelan, and while her house laid well outside of the city, you eventually arrived in front of her door, knocking on it, only to have to wait much longer than you expected before it finally opened, revealing your friend giving you her usual smile.

“Well, what a surprising visit you decided to pay me”, she greeted you, the thought of how you had managed to surprise the usually so informed Yelan, making you smile, only for you to remember what an unhealthy sleep schedule she seemed to have whenever she didn’t necessarily have work to do.

“Did I awaken you from your sleep?”, you asked teasingly, only for her to shoot back immediately in a similar playful matter.

“That’s confidential, I could tell you, but sadly wouldn’t be allowed to keep you alive afterwards”, after shooting you another smile, she finally let you inside, and it wasn’t long before the two of you started playing a game of dice against each other. “I could use this chance to win a few Mora from you, but how about we spice it up a bit? The winner gets to ask the looser anything”, she offered, causing you to give her a look of suspicion. When she said “anything”, did she truly mean it? Probably not really, since you doubted that she would tell you anything about her work even if you won, not that you wanted to know anyway. But you decided not to voice your doubts, instead giving her a nod.

Well, it wasn’t like you even had to think about what to ask her, since no matter how much luck you seemed to have, Yelan would always top you, and while her questions started out standard, asking you about things like work, they grew more and more personal with each question.

“What’s your taste in women?”, she eventually asked with as straight of a face as ever, and while the last question had already seemed a bit too personal for your taste, this one made your heartbeat faster than usual whenever you thought about what would come next.

“Well, I don’t really have one… I’m not that picky, if they are entertaining to hang out with, I guess”, you answered truthfully, well not completely, since there was someone you had eyes for.

“Then what about me?”, she asked, topping all her previous questions while making your face as red as the Jueyun chillies she loved to eat.

“T-that’s more than one question”, you stuttered out, frantically trying to buy your brain enough time to figure out any reasons she might have said something like that, baring the obvious of course, since that was too good to be true.

“Of course, how silly of me”, she stated, only to immediately get the highest possible score, making it unnecessary for you to even try and beat it. “Well, what about me?”, she stated once more, leaning forwards before putting her head in her hands while resting her arms on the table.

After seeing you fail to form a coherent sentence more than once, she leaned back before speaking again. “Fine, let me a different question”, when you heard her words, you finally managed to calm your nerves down a bit, only for all your blood to shoot into your head once again immediately afterwards.

“I like you as more than just a friend, do you feel the same?”, before you even had the chance to think about it, your body immediately went into autopilot, nodding enthusiastically without delay, causing the woman in front of you to smile at you once again.

Kuki Shinobu

You had known Shinobu for a very long time, having been friends with her long before she and her family got on rather… difficult terms. But when she had gone to study in Liyue for a few years, the two of you lost contact, only for her to come back and become part of the Arataki-gang, something you couldn’t help but find odd. Sure, you hadn’t seen her for years, but her joining that group of rather unusual individuals, wasn’t something you had ever expected from her.

But when the two of you met again, you somewhat rekindled your old friendship. Sure, the two of you had changed a lot, and instead of wearing the shrine maiden clothes you had expected an adult Shinobu to wear, she had found a different way to dress, most notably wearing a mask to hide her face even though you had never thought that there was a need for her to do so, but at the core you were still the same people as back then.

You couldn’t pinpoint exactly when, but at some point in your friendship Shinobu had stopped acting entirely professional around you, acting far more friendly than before. It may have been far from the friendliness others, like maybe that Naganohara girl, seemed to offer, but still a big enough change for you to notice, not that you had anything against it, since you were just happy to have your old friend back. And while she still insisted on wearing her mask most of the time, she wouldn’t seem as embarrassed as the first time you accidentally caught her taking it off.

You had plucked a few lavender melons since you seemed to remember Shinobu having told you about how they tasted better when roasted and decided to pay her a visit to ask for a few tips, only to encounter what seemed to be the rest of the “Arataki-gang”, but without their name giving leader.

“Hey, I’m sorry to-”, you looked at what they were doing, only to find them stand around two beetles fighting each other, leaving you with more questions than answers, but decided to continue anyway “…interrupt you, but do you know where I can find Shinobu?”, you asked, causing all of them to immediately turn their heads around.

“You’re looking for Kuki Shinobu? Why? Do you need something from her?”, one of them immediately started questioning you, approaching you while making you feel as if you were in some sort of trouble, like you had broken an unspoken rule, but before you could continue, the man in front of you suddenly had a look of realisation on his face. “Oh, you’re her friend! The one she always spends time with after work”, he almost shouted, catching the attention of the rest, making them gather around you as well.

What followed was them bombarding you with one question after another, not leaving you any time to answer any of them, but seemingly not even minding. You had long lost the ability to even register any of their questions, since they would be interrupted in the middle of it, causing you to have to hear a completely new one, that was, until you heard a question that stood out.

“Are the two of you a couple? You must be, you always hang out with each other, and she even mentioned you a couple of times”, all other members fell silent, as all their gazes were focussed on you, awaiting your answer.

“She was talking about m-”, before you had the chance to finish your sentence, another voice rang out, this one clearly being Shinobu’s, but instead of sounding professional like usual, or relaxed like when you spent time together, this time it was filled with rage.

“You have ten seconds, whoever is in my line of sight once they are over won’t live to regret it”, in an instant, the mass of men around you were gone, all of them scattering into different directions, leaving you and Shinobu alone, she finally having calmed down somewhat. “I hate those idiots sometimes”, she stated bitterly before letting out a big sigh, her choice of words somewhat surprising you.

“They seemed… friendly”, you awkwardly stated, trying to make her forget what had just happened, but instead earning yourself a nervous stare from her, only to hear her sigh once more.

“You heard what they said, so I guess there’s no need to deny it. I like you, and I hope you do the same, do you want to go out with me?”, her confession caught you even more off-guard, leaving you frozen in place for a couple seconds before finally mustering enough working braincells together to answer.

“Sure, I feel the same”, you answered, only to find it to be an underwhelming reaction, searching for a way to continue. “Do you want to roast lavender melons together?”, you awkwardly asked while lifting the basked full of them that you held in your hand, earning yourself a small, rare chuckle from Shinobu.

“Of course”

Kamisato Ayaka:

Just why did it sting so much? She knew it was wrong to think of you this way, her chance with you was gone, she was too afraid to speak out, and now she had lost you forever. But you simply wouldn’t leave her head.

She crumbled up yet another paper in anger. They were letters of love, confessions and the like. Things you would never read, or even see. But even then Ayaka couldn’t help herself. Your smile was burned into her mind, wishes of even the simplest of things, like you gently holding her hand, were all she could think of.

Ayaka was not the jealous type, but even then, just the mere thought of you holding someone that wasn't her, your undying love shared with another, a foreigner. What was it that she did not have? That you chose a silent nobody over her?

Small tears formed on her face. Ayaka silently sobbed, as to not disturb anyone, but still convey what she felt.

She hated herself for not taking action earlier. To let you know how she felt. But it was too late now. You belonged to someone else. Ayaka could only wonder about what could have been. For her to be held in your loving arms.

Kujou Sara:

Kujou Sara shot arrow after arrow in anger. She'd personally volunteered to clear a specific part of Inazuma out of any threats. But unlike usual, she specifically stated that she wanted to work alone.

She'd been doing this for hours, striking again and again. She didn't look like she was even slightly tired. What fueled her energy was her hatred, her sorrow. Hatred for the one who had taken her away from your loving arms. Sorrow for her lack of action, for not saying what she really felt while she still could.

Your smile plagued her mind, like a pest she couldn't quite get rid of, no matter how hard she tried. And she had tried many, many times.

Sara dropped her bow, she was exhausted. But more than that, she was disappointed, disappointed in you for playing with her heart like this, but more than that, disappointed in herself. How could she be cast aside like this? What did she do wrong?

She fell to her knees, she just couldn't hide it anymore. Small pockets of tears fell onto the grass below. And soon they became a current of tears. Her sobs were able to be heard from far away. All that grief pent up for so long. It only took one simple glance from you to unleash all of it.

Sangonomiya Kokomi:

Kokomi watched you from afar. How you were oh-so happy with your partner. Holding hands, laughing together, sharing your every moment with each other. It hurt. No, it burned to see you like this. To see you smile with someone that wasn't her. To wonder what could have been. If only she had told you sooner.

This had almost become a daily routine for her, to obsess over you. To watch your every move, to record in her head your every smile, your every moment of happiness, unknowingly blocking out your partner from her head, instead replacing them with herself.

Ningguang:

Why? Why did you not love her? Why did you chose such an insignificant person over her?

Ningguang watched as the love of her life was taken away from her, right in front of her own eyes.

She had everything anyone could ask for, and yet her love was not shared. Her gifts, sweet talk, her way around you, the praise you received from her, all falling to deaf ears.

Ningguang still had an image to uphold, even if it was getting harder and harder, no one should see her like this. Keeping her firm composure and her ruthless nature as usual.

But when no one was looking, she would bawl her eyes out. No one to hear her, no one to shame her, no one to give her their fake pity. It sounded perfect in a sick twisted way.

Oh, how she wished to hold you in her arms, to kiss your forehead every morning, to eat breakfast with you every day, to do mundane tasks with you by her side. It sounded like heaven, a paradise she had been locked out of, a thing she could never achieve, not matter how hard she tried.

“hm, (name)? you ok?” she said, facing you. you were looking at a certain teddy bear, with a cute collar and a heart on the middle. your eyes shined, and a blush came across your cheeks. your thoughts were cut off as amber suddenly jumped on your shoulder.

Her Apologizing to You After Snapping at You

• After Hu Tao left the room you couldn’t help but feel a little off. Like something was horribly wrong. You and Hu Tao had been upset at each other before, but never like this. You two almost always resolved your differences calmly and even I daresay cheerfully. 

• You almost felt anger towards her as, fearing this was a sign that your relationship would soon begin to fail. Or maybe you were just pessimistic and this was your way of coping with confusion.

• Hu Tao felt a nasty taste in her mouth after saying those mean things to you. Safe to say she regretted how she treated you, it wasn’t your fault that she had a bad day. In fact, she had just chased away her only healthy comfort mechanism. 

You looked down at the spare mora Hu Tao left on the table, you were so stiff you didn’t know how to react. You even lost your appetite, clueless as to why she was even acting that way in the first place. Looking downcast, you left your house wanting to avoid Hu Tao altogether. Tempted to slam the door behind you in a tantrum to audibly show your anger, but you resisted the urge.

You decided you’d stay out for the night, doing what exactly? You didn’t know yourself, you wandered aimlessly. After about an hour of dragging your feet, you found yourself right outside the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. The eerie vibe of the whole place gave you the shivers, maybe something happened here that you didn’t know about, you thought. Maybe that’s why Hu Tao wasn’t acting right.

You started to feel a little sympathetic, overlooking the fact that your girlfriend quite literally worked at a funeral parlor. Regardless of how much she enjoyed it, she was still human, and she could feel saddened too. You heard footsteps approach from behind you. Looking you saw Hu Tao, looking at her feet in shame, her fists in a ball. “I’m sorry,” she muttered quietly. 

You’ve never seen her so ashamed, even when you two apologized usually it would be lighthearted and you’d both giggle together, slowly forgiving each other. But right now, she knew her anger was misguided and felt ashamed. “I’m sorry... for yelling at you.” She was at a low whisper now, you could barely hear her. 

Even if the mood was a little off, you couldn’t be more grateful. All you wanted to hear was Hu Tao apologize, and then everything would be okay again. You would feel okay again because everything was in place. You walked towards her, pulling her into a mutual hug. You felt her shake a little in your hold. “I’m sorry Hu Tao,” You apologized as well. You didn’t want her to feel alone, so you reassured her of your presence. 

• It was late when Lisa arrived home that night, you had to guess maybe around midnight. You were already tucked into bed hoping she’d be in a better mood. You had even left out a bowl of leftover dinner you had cooked earlier that night. 

• Even though you felt as if she had overreacted, you knew how important those books were to Lisa. You felt as if even though it was a single page you had bent, you were careless. You left out an apology dinner, in hopes it would lift her spirits.

• Lisa however, was still irritable as ever when she came home. Nothing could recover the books that were destroyed that day. She almost forgot she had snapped on you because she was so distracted by the discrepancies committed against the library.

Lisa took off her large hat, hanging it on the coat rack as she loudly walked through the door. She was so loud in fact, she had woken you up from your sleep, but you were all too tired to react. You were even further encouraged to feign sleep since you remembered she was cranky that day. You heard her walk through the kitchen and open the fridge to find nothing. 

She groaned loudly until she turned around to find a bowl of vegetable soup on the counter. It was still steaming fresh of taste. You wished you could see her reaction, hoping the idea of food would brighten her mood. Still pretending to be asleep you heard the clacking of her heels from around the corner, she was making her way to the bedroom where you ‘slept’.

You squeezed your eyes shut in fear that she was still upset, unreasonably scared she might shock you to death. That was until you felt a gentle kiss on your cheek. “Hmm~,” she sounded so peaceful compared to earlier that day. “Thank you my love, I know you’re exhausted yet you cooked my favorite dish.

You felt another kiss on your cheek and her arms holding her upper body above you. Her breath on your face becoming warmer. You tried your hardest to keep your eyes closed, your new fear was that she would be upset you were faking your sleep. Even though you couldn’t see her presence still lingered

You felt her backhand nuzzle against your face as she looked down on your adoringly. “I’m sorry I yelled at you earlier today. I pray you’ll forgive me when you wake tomorrow,” You were tempted to sigh in relief after hearing her words. “Maybe we can even do something special together for your forgiveness.” 

• When you left the comfort of the indoors, you had no particular direction. But you were determined to find out what had gotten Yae Miko in such a bad mood. Her shrine maidens even looked a little on edge after Miko’s explosive reaction.

• You wanted to help your girlfriend badly, but you couldn’t if you didn’t even know what was wrong in the first place. You stood outside looking at the Sacred Sakura Tree, pondering on how to improve her mood.

• Miko admittedly felt a little selfish. She knew none of today’s events was anybody's fault other than the Tenryou Commission. She specifically felt bad for you, as you were mostly on the receiving end of her anger.

You stood with your arms folded, still thinking about today’s events. You began to think maybe it was your fault, you could've left her alone and comforted her without having to dig into the situation. Feeling a little guilty you rubbed the nape of your neck awkwardly with a light tsk. You knew you weren’t responsible, but you definitely could’ve reacted better yourself.

That was until you felt a slender hand tap your shoulder, there she was, Miko staring up at you with puppy dog eyes. You couldn’t help yourself but think how adorable she was, even in the given situation. “What is the matter?” you asked, surprised because you never expected her to have appeared before you so soon. 

“I know it was immature of me to react that way. I’m sorry,” She looked down, averting her eyes. You’d never heard her apologize before. She was usually so condescendingly cunning you’d almost consider it below her to apologize for her actions. You squinted suspiciously at her, was this really Miko standing before you?

She looked back at you hoping, stunned at her own actions and the words leaving her mouth. “This is the only time you’ll hear me apologize so savor it,” she said realizing her own softness. You were tempted to clap back, but you didn’t want to disturb the mood or invalidate her apology. You gave her a light sigh feeling a little better than before.

Even though this situation wasn’t ideal, the morale was certainly better. You both stood in silence looking at the bark of the tree before you. “So do you want to hear what happened or not?” She asked, you didn’t know she expected you to inquire about it first. “Listen up because I’m not going to repeat myself, alright?”

Since December is coming, I was thinking of christmas headcanon, so can I request different girls from other region kissing their crush (which is S/O) under the mistletoe and giving them gifts afterwards? Thank you and I love your writings so much!!

Mistletoe and Gifts with Her

Characters: Lisa, Hu Tao, Sara x gn!reader

A/n: Yes ! I remember seeing this in my inbox awhile back and it conveniently landed a day before Christmas Eve

I hope I chose the right characters tho <3 I tried to have an array of different personalities from Lisa’s flirty to Sara’s stern personality 

• Lisa and you attended a Knights of Favonius Christmas party that Jean held annually. Lisa forced you to attend as her plus one, you honestly wished to avoid that setting. You were convinced all the captains of the Knights were insane as they all had extravagant personalities.

• Whoever set the mistletoe did it for the giggles. It was meant as a troll and nobody in the Knights of Favonius would take it seriously, just kind of poke fun of the pointless decoration. But Lisa saw it as the golden opportunity to tease you.

• Lisa would gift you your favorite book signed by the author. They were from some far region such as Liyue which made this rare and hard to obtain in Mondstadt. She probably sacrificed an arm and a leg during the travel for this.

Lisa blushed shyly underneath the green plant, she looked like a school girl confessing to her high school crush. “Pfft, cut the act already Lisa. I know you’re not this shy,” you intruded.

“Awwh~ Well it was worth a shot,” she sighed. She was hoping you’d initiate something for once, but she guessed it wasn’t programmed in you to dominate her as she did to you. “Come here huh? It’ll be fun,” she said seeing you hesitate.

Her arms wrap around your neck seductively, her body pressed against yours prolonging the kiss. It might’ve been embarrassing out in public, but it felt like heaven. Her lips pressed against yours and your body against her plush feeling.

“Well well, that was quite fun wasn’t it?” Her smirk was wide and she felt invigorated. “We should do this more often no?”

After you two separated she took out of almost nowhere a small bound book, tapping it on your chest once, “I almost forgot- Merry Christmas my little cutie.” She whispered in your ear before making her way to the drink table.

• Hu Tao and you had a nice walk at midnight with the snow falling in Liyue. You were both alone enjoying the lights and decorations of everything. The streets were pretty when everything was silent.

• A mistletoe hung low from a bridge in a random alleyway of Liyue. You had no idea who placed it there in the first place, but Hu Tao wanted to take advantage of it. She had never had any experience before you so she was naturally beyond excited.

• Hu Tao gave you a handmade necklace for Christmas. She believed it didn’t matter how expensive the gift was, it just had to come from the heart. So when she crafted a necklace of your favorite colors and special jewels it meant the world to you.

Hu Tao stared into your eyes for as long as she could, you could tell her uncertainty through her wavering eyes and the light blush on her ears. Her hands laced in her signature rings felt cold to the touch, and the air you breathed out was visible.

The setting was right. She looked one last time at the mistletoe above her before squeezing her eyes shut and giving you a hearty kiss. It felt oh so tense, but so right. Her lips fit together against yours like a puzzle piece. You heard a little muffled moan from her, but you were pretty sure it was due to surprise over pleasure.

After a second she pulled away, her blush intensified. Despite being such a loudmouth prankster, when it came to romance she was the shyest girl in Liyue. Affection was just not up her lane.

She was about to leave, go her separate ways and tell you she’d see you tomorrow. But before she parted she hesitated, like she had something on her mind. “I almost forgot to give you this.” She handed you a nice red velvet box.

Opening it up was a pendant, jewels in different shades of you favorite color laced in the metals. In the center was a shiny jade stone, you could tell Hu Tao had put a lot of effort in gathering the products for it. You gave her a bearhug, and it seemed to shake her consciousness back to her old self. “I’ll see you tomorrow loser, Merry Christmas,” she said before running off into the dark to her home.

• The Tenryou Commission attended the Christmas party their Yashiro Commission brethren held annually. Sara begrudgingly attended as the general. Although she only pretended hated all this holiday cheer stuff. She secretly loved all the happy aura of everyone.

• Miko probably set the mistletoe up, ready to scan whatever poor soul found themselves underneath it. Sara swore revenge over that damn guuji, she was all too shy. But with your insistence, she might partake in such a childish tradition.

• Sara probably would gift you a tengu mask like her own! You always said how complimented how cute it was. She said if you wore it, it meant you two were like family already and a part of the Kujou household even without putting a ring on her finger.

Sara and you found yourselves in Miko’s brilliant trap. The tri-commissions surrounding you pressuring you to two to kiss underneath the mistletoe. It was only natural since you two were dating. The general had a stark red blush on her face of anger, you on the other hand didn’t mind the audience.

“Let’s make this quick,” you mumbled just loud enough for only Sara to hear you. You wanted to save her the embarrassment, it was clear she was uncomfortable. They had never seen their stern general in such a vulnerable position.

You pulled Sara in by her waist, she was stiff like cardboard. With the quickest peck of your life, you two connected. Her lips feeling so soft, you wanted more, but not here. As you separated you took Sara’s wrist and quickly took her away from the crowd of boos of disappointment.

You both had lost the crowd, behind in an empty individual room of the Yashiro headquarters. Sara had to catch her breath from the adrenaline, “I owe you.” She said bluntly.

You smiled at the statement, you were going to take advantage of it later when you two made it home. But first, she had something to give you. Making herself stand upright she cleared her throat, “Merry Christmas.” She said with her deep voice.

In a Christmas bag was a Tengu mask identical to her own. She helped you put it on your head sideways and you couldn’t help but grin. “Now you’re one of us,” she hugged you as you both basked in each other’s hold in the desolate room.

Hihi again-request for a scenario where the reader gets kabedoned by their s/o (accidentally or intentionally)(Ayaka,Hu Tao,Ei,Sara and Yae)-feel free to make any edits if you want think the scenario doesn’t suit the character well and remember to take care!! :)

I can do it like earlier and have 2 sides- one where they get kabedoned and one where reader does it! So if you'll like this one I don't mind you requesting second part ^w^

You didn't have many opportunities to take her out on a date. There were a lot of things you wanted to do but your outdoor plans failed due to an unexpected rain.

To get away from it you went to the Komore Teahouse. After entering a room you stood in front of the wall clearly feeling defeated.

She looked at you and asked if you were okay but it felt like you weren't listening or you just plainly ignored her. So she stood between you and the wall asking again but her tone was more serious.

You just rested your head against her shoulder as your hand supported you against the wall.

You admitted to the fact that you just felt down because of the rain that had ruined your plans.

While she did listen to you she was more focused on the position the two of you were in.

"I see- uhm I understand how you feel but-" her embarrassed tone made you look up, that's when you noticed that you pinned her against the wall.

You immediately pushed yourself away from her and apologized. She didn't mind what had happened in the slightest and the two of you continued your little date.

Hu Tao

She always liked it when you got confident with flirting. It's mostly because even though teasing is harder- once she hits the right spot she can see really great expression of flustered denial.

Of course it doesn't happen all the time. But she'd be lying if she said she doesn't sometimes create such situations on purpose just so she could tease you.

Each time she's done she's super sweet to make up for it if she makes you visibly upset though. It doesn't happen too often but it's not uncommon either.

Once you had a perfect opportunity to do the famous Kabedon you were prepared for her turning the tables, however you also thought you weren't going to let her get the better of you easily. You caught her off guard but she wasn't spooked so you had a little advantage.

This time you were prepared to say something back to her but once you had her... You felt speechless.

You were admiring each other, her eyes seemed more sparkly than usual but her smile was the same as ever.

Both of you felt like the entire world stopped existing and now it was just the two of you.

She booped your nose "Are we just going to stand here? Or was it just a staring contest" she says as she stares more intensively.

She just wanted to get you to talk. The silence was slowly making her flustered but she didn't mind that in the slightest.

Ei

Considering that she usually just stays in a huge rooms where she is always meters away from the wall it was hard to pull off something like this.

But somehow you managed to get yourself in that position... By accident.

That day she decided to take another walk around the town she wished to see more... And craved some dango milk.

As the two of you walked around some theif was being chased and you kind of stood in their way so they pushed you.

Since they pushed you Ei was pushed as well and she ended up with her back against the wall and you automatically placed your hand against it to stabilize your balance since you were almost about to fall.

As soon as the theif turned around to see if they were still being chased they saw Ei and freaked out. Thus they got captured.

Both you and Ei focused on that before you both turned your heads as the case solved itself.

That's when you noticed what had happened... As you were in the famous Kabedon your hearts were in sync beating faster than usual.

There was a bit of silence but she broke it by asking "How long do you wish to stay that way?"

Kujou Sara

You don't often get a chance to fluster her, even if this isn't a hard task. Unless she isn't focused on something else it's rather simple to flatter her.

So she didn't expect that to happen. And of course I mean the Kabedon happening.

You were alone you had an opportunity and took it. She was very much surprised but she didn't let that show.

She looked away but she also wanted to face you at the same time.

"What do you think you're doing?" she said with a sigh not really understanding your intentions.

If you wanted something from her you always have her attention. So a sneak attack like that seems unnecessary... But welcome.

Yae Miko

You planned this. You wanted to see how she'd react. Knowing her she'd probably be as bold as always... But it's still worth trying!

And hey, let's be real even if you fail to fluster her being close to her is a win on its own.

You waited for an opportunity to strike but it was almost like she just knew what you planned. You couldn't find her near any surface that was stable enough for your move.

Maybe it was a dare to see if you'd try it even though you'd risk falling with her?

She was also making sure to take a glance at you once in a while with a smirk... Yup she probably knew and wanted to see your reaction.

She didn't really let her guard down but she felt like that was enough. To be honest she had another plan of teasing that was much more entertaining.

So the second you shoot your shot... She did it.

"You're trying to fluster me, don't you? My love you need to try better than this" she smiles as she places her hand on your cheek and closes all distance between you, giving you a sweet kiss.

A/n: Ah simple yet one of my favorite troupes to write for 😎

• You watched Keqing grow up from a young girl to a remarkable woman. Liyue’s Yuheng nonetheless was achieved by nothing short of her power and tenacity.

• Keqing had two favorite people growing up, you and her Grandfather. Nobody could deal with her stuck-up attitude, so she naturally only got close to you with her Grandfather no longer present.

• She didn’t depend on anyone, not even the Archons themselves. But the more you relied on her, she found herself relying on you. It’s not like she needed you, but socially you two isolated yourselves in a little bubble from the rest of Liyue.

Keqing was always unintentionally harsh with her words, her title as Yuheng didn’t necessarily help. Because of these two factors, many decided actively to keep their distance from her. That was except you, even as she grew older and her words grew harsher, you never left her side.

You sat together enjoying dinner at Wanmin after a night of endless shopping, two of Keqing’s favorite pastimes. Suddenly she began to get sentimental, “I often reminisce on the times when we were children. And I’d like to thank you for sticking by my side.” She was speaking oddly formal with you.

“Of course Keqing, you don’t have to thank me,” you could tell she didn’t believe your words of dismissal.

“No really, I feel you could do so much more. Spend your nights achieving great things in Liyue. But our relationship prevents you from networking,” she looked shameful. “It's just as others say, if I never had this spiteful personality I’d be more approachable. And with you by my side, others assume the worst.”

“Then pay no attention to them,” you held her hand from across the table. “Why do you think I’ve been with you since childhood? Without you, I am not complete.”

“Then I’ll hold you accountable,” she blushed slightly at your bold statement. You were determined to shed her if her insecurities of you.

• When Ayaka’s parents passed at such a young age, you were the only one there for her as support. Ayato as the eldest son was far too busy to deal with Ayaka.

• You remember all her sleepless nights crying in your arms when she realized her mother was never coming back. You sympathized with her becoming her closest friend.

• She grew up to become the Shirasagi Himegimi- a literal princess is Inazuma. Even though you had undeniable feelings for her, you felt you couldn’t even hold a candle to her greatness.

With the announcement of the Vision Hunt Decree, the Yashiro Commission grew hectic. Ayaka being the head of the snake to the rebellion on Narukami Island, grew stressed and unstable. At one point she found herself outside your room late at night, like when you were younger.

You two lay facing each other, although you were much older, Ayaka still found comfort when sleeping beside you. She reached for your empty hand, embracing the warmth of it. “Remember when we were younger, we would sleep together frequently? that was nice.”

“I do remember,” you said, your heart racing out of your chest. Since then much had changed, including your feelings towards Ayaka.

“I wish we could do this more often. I miss sleeping beside you,” you wondered if she meant it. And if she did, did she understand the connotation behind it? That you two weren’t children anymore, and how two adults don’t sleep in the same bed without underlying meanings.

She closed her eyes and you heard light breathing from her. After a couple of minutes, you assumed her idle figure was asleep already, and you couldn’t help yourself but shuffle a little closer to her body. Closing your own eyes before you heard a gentle, “thank you for allowing me to sleep here for the night, I love you,” From her.

• Yoimiya as a young girl was naive and nothing more than trouble. She would get herself in scrimmages because of folklores she heard the grown-ups talking about. Often dragging you along.

• Every kid in the neighborhood wanted Yoimiya on their side, she was so popular. But something about you drew her to you. Out of everyone she would choose you, she still would even as you two grew up together.

• You two were like two peas in a pod. Yoimiya grew smarter and became the adult telling the folklores. You watched her grow up to be a fine young lady, something she was destined to be.

Yoimiya was nothing short of beautiful. The Naganohara Fireworks business booming because of her spiffy attitude and her handiwork. Everyone’s sons lined up to be wedded to her. But in her father’s eyes, nobody was qualified for her hand in marriage except you. However, in Yoimiya’s eyes, she belonged to nobody.

You both sat atop a random grassy hill on Narukami Island, Yoimiya feeling down in the dumps because of her father. Because of his poor hearing, he spoke louder than most. This time around, he yelled on the streets asking you when you were going to propose to his daughter.

Frankly, it was embarrassing for Yoimiya. You had already come to terms with your feelings for your childhood friend, yet you only pretended it bothered you for her sake. “I’m sorry about my father,” she said somberly.

“It’s no worries Yoimiya. Trust me I don’t mind,” you felt a little off lying to her. And most importantly lying to her. “You know I’m always here for you right?”

She buried her head deeper into her legs, curling into a compressed ball. “I know, I just don’t like when he acts like that. I mean, it’s crazy right?” It sounded as if Yoimiya was trying to convince herself of her own words, afraid you’d find her disgusting if you found out her mutual crush on you.

“I don’t think it’s crazy,” you admitted. She couldn’t believe her ears, but she wanted to believe it so badly.

“You really think that?” She murmured.

• Lisa was a prodigy despite her lazy attitude towards everything. No matter the importance she was always falling asleep, so you followed her to Sumeru Academy to prevent her from falling under.

• Thanks to you she stayed on top of everything, she believed she owed you a lot even though it was all her doing. She said you were moral support.

• When you both grew up you followed her to Mondstadt where you continued to be her moral support. You watched her become the Purple Rose in everyone’s hearts. It didn’t take long for Lisa’s duties to override your time with her.

“I noticed you’ve gotten closer to that traveler recently,” You mentioned dusting off some bookshelves. The past week you felt a significant difference in your relationship with Lisa. You felt she was slipping from your grasp, and your hold on her was weakening.

“Ara~ that cutie? Yeah there’s something about them that’s different from the rest, I feel as if they can save us from Stormterror’s reign.” Your teeth clenched at the nickname.

“But can we rely on an outsider? I mean, we really know nothing about them,” you hid your intentions behind your fake smile. Lisa wasn’t dumb though, growing up with you she knew exactly what game you were playing.

“Oh do I sense jealousy?” She approached closer, running her hand over your shoulders with a playful smirk. Her voice echoing with sultry through your eardrums. “Don’t get me wrong that darling has much potential, but allow me to put your mind at ease.”

She went to a small whisper in your ear, “In my eyes, nothing is more interesting than you.” She giggled lightly, her lips brushing your earlobes causing you to blush madly. “remember that okay?”

• As a young girl Kokomi was strangely introverted for how much attention she received as the future Divine Priestess. Being one of her few friends, she chose you to be her closest attendant.

• As Kokomi came to age, she had many people attempt to court her. The difference between you and them was motives. They sought Kokomi out for power, political stance, and service. You loved her for who she was but in secret.

• No matter how rich, how stunning, or how strong each candidate was, Kokomi would reject them without hesitation. You would wonder as to why, she was a budding young woman, and had much potential.

There it was, another suitor kissing the back of Kokomi’s hand as they’re sent off. You’d never openly admit it, but it killed you inside to see a bunch of random diplomats attempt to seduce your best friend. You watched from afar behind the corner. Clutching your chest you got lost in your thoughts. Why did it even bother you so much in the first place?

“Are you okay?” Kokomi inquired, you didn’t even notice her approach you. She gently grabbed your hand and took it away from your chest. “You’re always so rough with yourself, please be gentle for me.” 

“Ah, sorry Kokomi. I didn’t mean to worry you,” you still found it a little hard to stray your thoughts from Kokomi.

“No worries, I’m right here,” She placed your hand on her bosom. You felt her heartbeat strongly underneath her dress. You couldn’t prevent the blush that tainted your cheeks, avoiding eye contact to tame your feelings. “Hey, what’s wrong lately? You’ve never acted like this before with me?” You hesitated, what good would confessing to Kokomi do? Worst case scenario. she rejects you and you no longer have the same relationship as you did before. 

“Could it be you’ve developed a little crush on me finally?” She smirked trying to make light of the situation. You couldn’t tell if she was joking or not, her smile seemed to have a deeper meaning. Her pale blue eyes try to read your feelings through your raw reaction.
