so a concept that came to my head with one thought:
"Princess Peach is a Princess..... where's the king?"
So, I'll introduce the washed-up king I came up with, King Hawthorne Toadstool!
As a young King, he was a kind, benevolent leader who pushed the Toads to be better than they were, and had a wonderful, friendly alliance with the neighboring Koopa Kingdom. He was seen as a bit tough, but fair and good. The only problem was that he partied. Sometimes, a bit too much.
It was this partying that lead to Toadsworth being handed a baby Peach by a mysterious woman. No one knows who she was, or why she abandoned Peach to the castle. But, Hawthorne quickly took to being a father and started teaching the baby Peach everything he could as early as he could.
However, it wasn't much. As, when Peach was very young, the Toads of the kingdom hoisted King Hawthorne out of the throne and crowned Peach as their ruler. Their reasoning was that he was too hard on them (even if he was actually really supportive and just wanted them to be the best they could), while Peach didn't expect anything from them. There were a few Toads who weren't sure of this change, asking how well a child could rule them, but most Toads thought this a great idea.
Hawthorne, without his throne, became a bit.... melancholy. He is just an "odd, lonely, sad man" who drinks in the crevices' of the Mushroom Kingdom. He'll talk about how back in his day they didn't have a crisis every fuckin day, and they certainly didn't have an overworked plumber chasing after an overgrown fire-breathing turtle. Ah, well. He doesn't try to contest the crown at all, and simply tries to keep to himself and out of the hero's way.
Peach has not seen him since she was very young and would not recognize him. In fact, not really anyone would. Even his old friend Toadsworth. Most older Toads would have to have their memory jogged of him.
gosssh thank you so much again for drawing these two!!!
they're just standing there... menacingly
me: I should design the gems I promised!Â
brain: fuck you we’re finishing the wips of the two adult characters we have set aside for hybrid high.Â
me:
me: uh-
So yea. I’ve had these guys set aside for half a year now and FINALLY decided to line them. These two are very important staff members for the high school, being the Principal and Vice Principal respectively..... And one of them being Percy’s new step parent.
On the top we have Principal Moral Nighshade; A City Fae and.... No one’s sure. She is a hybrid, but no one really knows what of. She created the high school for hybrid children like herself many years ago, creating a safe space so children who were seen as different could be around others like them. She even set it up so on the first day students could get a pronoun pin so people knew how to identify them.Â
Moral used to work at a bar, for their boring summers and nights to be filled up. This is where they met a very worried-about-her-son Mrs. Hudson..... Their romance was private and whirwind, preparing to get married just over a year into their courtship. And, before Percy even met Moral.Â
Percy is highly suspicious of Moral and her intentions with his mother at first, as fae are regarded as dangerous and conniving by most humans. But, they become close and bond very well eventually.Â
Moral uses she/they pronouns, and is able to grow a beard. She’ll not shave it if it’s the weekend.
On the bottom, we have the very kind Vice Principal Gulliver Dirgefall! Widely beloved by the students, Gulliver is a chipper, friendly dullahan-skeleton hybrid who used to teach Theater Lit; where he would teach famous plays to his children. However, he quickly gained the vice principal position due to how beloved he is by all the staff, students, and parents.Â
He runs the Sexuality and Gender Alliance club at the school, and is a married gay man. Gulliver is a cis male and uses he/him pronouns
A very quick test comic for Hybrid High! This would be in the second "chapter" (if you count the prologue as a chapter), when Percy would first meet Cyraeni!
A small sketch to test out a concept.
Hitchcock has a small.... issue with blood. He's not.... scared of it, necessarily. It’s just.... any time he sees it-
Their screams fill the air. (Who's? And why-) His troops beg for mercy. (His? He's never.... Has he? A long forgotten mission maybe?) Ubris shows no mercy (Ubris? He's never liked Ubris. He never could place why. Well-) Ubris's face shows no emotion. (Sometimes something pricks at his mind.) Their blood colors Ubris's cloak a different color. (This very scene sometimes.) Please please please just let it stop- (He never remembers that the memory passed by until it passes again) Ubris coldly tells Hitchcock it's over (What's over? What is he forgetting?) So long as he never tries this again- (Tries what? What had he done?) He could live. (Why is he crying- living is good!)
The blood is dry and caked into him by the time he forgets. Did he spill food coloring? Odd. He doesn't remember. He should clean up.
The third, and final wielder of the cursed sword became known as The Justice Monger. Raised from a young age by the viking princess, he knew not right from wrong. However, he began to question the teachings of the princess. And, eventually, destroyed the cursed sword. Ending the viking princess’s reign. No one is sure where the man went after. It is known he is not dead, as the curse keeps him living until one kills him for all his crimes.
Decided to try to make a mural based on the steven universe Diamond Murals. Two orbs there represent the other two wielders of the sword. Simone’s emblem is watching him to show she was always watching and he also has the curse hanging over his head. The sword is there cause.... it’s the sword. The thing that held the curse in the first place. And blood at his feet.
>SCREAMS INTO THE THOUSANDTH SUN< LOOK!!!!! LOOK AT MY DAUGHTER!!!! LOOK AT HER BEAUTIFUL FACE!!!! YOU DID HER PERFECT I LOVE-
@yaboy-robin oh sorry this is bad whoops
Finally; Element swap au Rainbow Dash- the element of Empathy. And, her future wife, Wonder!Â
I decided to scrap Magic as an element from this au. As, it always felt a lil weird to me that they had all these elements based around friendship. And, suddenly, they throw magic in there. And make it the most op. Nah. So, we have Empathy! A few other concepts I was working with was supportiveness and forgiveness, but I thought those didn’t think that fit this version of Rainbow Dash.
Anyway, on to Rainbow Dash herself!
The race against the boy bullies was never finished, as Hoops and Rainbow Dash crashed after Hoops attempted to bump Rainbow Dash so she would crash. Due to the race being unsupervised, and no pony going to check on Fluttershy who had fallen, all three children were sent to detention.Â
This started Rainbow on a path of delinquency, causing her to rebel more and more. Cause more damage. And chaos. At some point she did it because ponies expected it of her. She’s not sure when though.
Rainbow was forced into an “after school program” that would keep her out of trouble. For this program, she had to chose an extra curricular to do. She went through them all, causing problems and getting kicked out.Â
Until she found the science program.
Here, she could cause as much chaos as possible- and it was seen as a positive result! The cool explosions and things she was making to bring home- they were actually pretty neat!Â
This program is where Rainbow Dash earned her cutie mark, representing her talent with more action oriented science. She wants results!Â
Wonder was born to a pure pegasus family and was raised with pegasus expectations. She eventually earned her talent in organization and became the manager/organizer of the Wonder Bolts, which she was named after.Â
She is, however, shadowed and not thanked a lot for her work. Not many ponies know it’s her making sure Soarin isn’t late for that show that inspired you to go into flight because he had a hangover. Or making sure no pony notices that pregnancy until the pegasus is ready to announce it. It was a thankless job, and the Wonder Bolts really took advantage of her and her kindness and patience.Â
Until Rainbow Dash wins a day with the Wonder Bolts. She, at first, laughs off the teasing and shadowing of Wonder. These are her heroes! It has to be okay.... right? But, eventually, she sees it isn’t okay. And she stands up for Wonder.
The Wonder Bolts realize how terrible they’ve been to Wonder and have an appreciation show for her. Wonder, in thanks for making helping her out, gives Rainbow her rainbow item instead of Spitfire.Â
Wonder herself is a bit of a shy dork. Like a fusion of Fluttershy and Twilight. These two love having book dates with the newest Daring Do!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I LOVE!!!! THANK YOU!!!! LOOK AT HIM!!!!!! HE SO HAP!!!!!
Fanart of @yaboy-robin’s Sinensis/“Project Showtime”
A lovely Ruby I designed today.
You might be saying, “woah that is not a Ruby. That’s a fusion who named herself Ruby.” But she is just a singular Ruby!Â
A “disease” can sweep through kindergartens and erase various bits of coding from the incubating gems. This disease is called permafrost, as it is caused by ice even the hottest temperatures can’t seem to melt.Â
This young Ruby’s kindergarten was infected by permafrost, and abandoned early on. However, she was one of the few Rubies who managed to form, the frost erasing the coding for her standard form. And leaving.... this.Â
Any gem who erupts plagued with perma frost is generally shattered unless the authority can find use for them. This little lady found use as an entertainer in Blue Diamond’s court. Something to be laughed at and mocked for her odd form. But, it was something to keep her alive.
