Sometimes I think about that one bit in "The Robots of Dawn" where Daneel explains to Elijah that on Aurora there are Specialized Robots to raise kids, and neither him or Giskard have that ability. And then I think that Giskard sort of raised Vasilia.
Imagine when Vasilia was really tiny, Han Fastolfe going to Giskard "Oh I'm going a few days out for a scientific Conference please keep an eye on Vasilia" and Giskard Panicking. Fastolfe comes back home three days later and Giskard is now "Babysitter Supreme"

So, do you remember that art poll, a couple months ago, where you asked to see a Greek pottery-style Dors?
Well, here she finally is!
(Some commentary under the cut. Feel free to skip, but if you like the drawing please like, leave a comment or reblog! It means the world to me đź’“)
Well, after almost ten hours of work... here it is! My aim was to only use black and red/ocre-ish color used in Ancient Greek pottery, which turned out for what is basically a second attempt! In terms of drawing style though, I steered towards another direction and, for the pose and clothes, I drew inspiration from a 1797 painting of Clio, the Muse of History. This reference just seemed fair to me: after all, Dors being a historian is one of her most prominent character traits, and a lovely one at that. The Muse's traditional attributes of tablet and stylus, pictured in the reference portrait, fit her character so I decided to keep them. The laurel crown was also referenced from the painting and, although it's not traditional, I kept it mostly because I associate Dors with leaf and/or flower patterns. After all, she's the Gift of Spring! I also decided to give one of her drapes a striped pattern, to recall her nickname, "The Tiger Woman". Last but not least, I decided to play around with shadows a bit, mostly on the draperies. Certainly not something you can find on pottery, but nevertheless a nice touch.
Congrats if you've made it so far! I hope you've enjoyed this piece, and I'd love to hear your thoughts about it.
hands are insane because they're the absolute sexiest part of a body veins tendons knuckles hair on the wrist and the back of the fingers bones and blood all close to the skin screaming I AM ALIVE AND I SHAPE THE WORLD AROUND ME freckles and scars and the cryptic spiral of a fingerprint on each digit but also you cover them up with gloves and they BECOME HOTTER for some reason. and then you take the gloves off and they're hotter again. science can't explain this
2-4-10-12 for Arkady and Fallom c:
2) Favorite Canon thing about this character?
For Arkady, that she's an actual kid. She's doing silly stuff, she makes mistakes, she makes a lot of things that Embarrasses Adult. She's cringe but She's free and that's so real of her.
For Fallom:
While reading their narrative part I was crying 24/7 so them having a nice time playing the flute and doing Amazing is just <3
4) If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
For Arkady, I'm putting her in a Mahou Shoujo. She will live love laugh her adventures in a silly frilly and pink dress cause I said so. I'm not sure which series exactly toh-
For Fallom, I'm putting them in Doctor Who. Mostly because I'm curious To see the Doctor travel with a kid and non intentionally giving them therapy-
10) Could you be best friends with this character?
With Arkady maybe, but I'd surely be her friend trying to stop yet enabling chaos at the same time. With Fallom I think I'd actually act like a Mom friend (blame the scout for that).
12) What's a headcanon you have for this Character?
Oooooh way too many. Some of my favorite for Arkady is that she absolutely sang some songs at eleven Pm and Toran II "LOWER YOUR VOICE!" "NO!" & in the Au where everyone is alive and everyone lives together Hober Mallow reads her Stories and has a blast suggesting plot prompts, Bayta reads the Beta of the story and goes "Where did this came out". For Fallom, trying to keep with the timeline, because I always imagined that them and Daneel lived in a symbiosis like a Mythocondrya and a cell, sometimes Fallom Point a planet, they make some fake identity card and go visit the planet. For the Au where everyone is alive and lives together, concept that Daneel and Elijah are their dads, Gladia and Giskard their aunt and uncle Figures.

Apparently I have more stickmen
I remembered that in Robots of Dawn it is specified that Aurora's sun is in the Cetus constellation, also known as the Whale. So, my brain connected two dots
