KNY fellas, especially KNY shippers: how do we feel about Masachika x Kanae? because I feel insane about them /pos and I'm NOT going to shut up about this bc I saw too few shippers and I want to change that🙏🏻

now I don't really want to rant [yet] about the specific reasons why I think MasaKana(e) is the superior Kanae ship, but! I'm going to rant about why it's growing on me ^^

since it's a rarepair, obviously my first criteria is their dynamic: naïve sunshine x naïve sunshine. hear me out. I genuinely fail to understand why it was never a well-known rarepair?? one is an overly sweet and optimistic girl, who goes that far to wish to befriend demons; the other is a silly little guy, overly optimistic and caring, who daydreams about getting married someday. their personalities match so well?? they seem like they'd have similar goals and vibes, plus Kanae *did* address him as "-kun" and knew that Masachika cared about Sanemi, which means they must've interacted off screen (Kanae must've interacted with lots of her patients including Sanemi and Masachika, but I feel like she had more meaningful conversations with Masachika rather than with Sanemi's grumpy/detached ass, which led her only to worry bc that's in her nature; either way, she sympathizes with Masachika for sure).

in brief, I feel like they would relate to each other better than anyone else, and they would get along really really well...I won't be yapping further for now, we never saw them interact directly so all I will be able to share from now on will probably be headcanons 🧚🏻‍♀️

on a side note, I have no idea which ship name shall be used😭😭 MasaKana, MasaKanae, MasachiNae, KanaChika as an alternative...idk

My Hero Theory: What is Hawks?

In the never ending debate of exactly what type of bird-heteromorph Hawks is supposed to be, and everyone's theories are fascinating, I want to throw out an absolutely bonkers theory.

First, something that confused me about his character design is why he has slit pupils. That's not a noted bird trait. It's more commonly found in ambush predators like small cats, snakes, foxes, etc.

I admit, the most likely reason he has slit pupils is Horikoshi just thought it would look cool and didn't care how accurate it was to general bird anatomy. And honestly? Fair. Nobody's saying the slit pupils didn't look awesome. And there is one bird species that has slit pupils and it's the black skimmer. (Also fun fact, the only other bird that doesn't have round pupils is the penguin, which has square pupils. The more you know.)

Anyway, I guess since Hawks has slit eyes, headcanon he shares the same vision advantages Toga has which I discussed in this post.

Second, though, is I'm kinda skeptical of the idea that he's strictly a 'bird'-heteromorph. In spite of the fandom occasionally adding fangs and talons to his design, his only canon non-human features are his wings and his eyes, only one of which is primarily an avian trait while the slit pupils are a rare exception in birds. The Quirk itself is just called 'Fierce Wings' and Hawks is a name he gave himself, which could indicate he simply identifies as a bird and we could move on.

But for the sake of argument, think about this:

Personally, when I hear the words 'slit pupils,' my brain goes to cat.

Wings = Avian

Slit pupils = Felidae (small cat)

With the existence of Ryukyu in the My Hero world, we know that Quirks can be mythical in appearance.

So with a combination of feline and avian qualities in a single person and folklore being at play...

...I'm gonna throw out the theory that Hawks is a griffin-heteromorph.

Yes, lions and eagles both have round pupils, so it's not a perfect theory, but I've seen modern depictions play with the griffin designs that are different type of bird/cat combination.

Admittedly, this theory is probably more shitpost than theory, but I think it’s fun.

it's okay haha, one thing I love more than touyas body horror is everyone's reaction (mainly enji and rei's bc that's their son-) to the extent of it bc just imagine the heartbreak, the horror, the guilt, the ache ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡ I love it here lmao idm the derail in topic ♪ヽ(´▽｀)/

and yeah. the fact that all endeavor could find was his part of his jaw. dawg my HEART.

yk the scene where dabi reveals himself and endeavor is literally going thru it all over again. when I was watching it, all I could think of was the heartbreak, the confusion, the denial, it's all THERE. this man is going over every little detail of sekoto peak after his son's 'death'. every possible detail that could've indicated touya's survival, what did he miss ? could he really have saved his son ? could he have saved his family from the grief ? could he have saved more than a fragment of touya's jaw ?

maybe he could have. the same son that he was just starting to believe to be dead is now right in front of him. that outcome was possible in another universe. and doesn't that hurttttttttttttt enji, omy gosh none of them deserve this

it makes me wonder if enji was ever close to discovering touya's body. as in, he's a pro hero and that's his son, so enji wasted no time in running into the forest. but the fire was 2000°c !!! touya's flames are wayyyy hotter than enji's, and sure, enji has more resistance but it doesn't mean that he's immune to the effects of fire.

imagine, the smoke clinging to his lungs, causing him to heave. the ash making his eyes water and his vision blur. the unmistakable smell of burning flesh. none of this is easing his worry. there's no sign of touya anywhere. all that he can hear is the blaze of the inferno that's taking his son away from him. and isn't it deafening (;´-｀)

imagine that in all of his panic and distress, enji misses touyas corpse. wouldn't that be tragic. as much as I think AFO defo came in asap and swiped touya immediately, I can't help but feel like that this is a possibility that goes through enjis mind. it's written all over his face in that scene omy goshhhhhhhhugngh this is making me sick

can we talk abt touya's medical trauma more please
