Based on my fic, Zanka - a Victuuri historical AU in 1800s, Edo, Japan. Yuuri is Aoyagi, a high-ranking male courtesan, and Viktor falls hopelessly in love.

The scene is from chapter one: 

As the translator turned once more, Viktor returned his gaze to the courtesan. The man was idly fingering the length of his pipe as he listened to the translator’s words. Despite his soft features, there was a sharpness to him, an edge, as though life had him honed into a beautiful, double-edged sword. Viktor felt his insides churn; buried under all those luxurious robes was a young man who probably never knew a world beyond the red lights of Yoshiwara.

-- When you are working on storyboards, do you make the same facial expressions as the characters do?

Shishido: Yes, I do (laugh). I smile, when I'm drawing the character smiling, and when I was drawing Yuuri crying in that scene in episode 7., I almost started to cry myself.

-- Could you please tell us about other scenes that were memorable to you?

Shishido: Choosing from the scenes, that I worked on personally, for example, the scene in episode 9., in which Yuuri gives out a lot of hugs. It was a comedy scene that was very fun to draw. I also drew storyboards for the second part of episode 10. The first part was a bit comical, the second part more serious, right? The action development [in episode 10.] is very well-balanced and drawing the storyboards was a pleasure.

-- What is, according to you, the reason why Yuuri, Victor and Yuuri are such charming characters?

Shishido: I insert myself into the characters, when I'm directing, so right now, when I have to look back and say what is the source of their charm, it's difficult. Just like it's difficult to point out your own strengths (laugh). But looking at them objectively, I'm under the impression that they are all very human. They show themselves to us, rather than hide their thoughts deep inside their hearts. When I first saw Kubo Mitsurou-san's storyboards, I thought 'the characters are so open...' They don't hide anything from the viewer, so it's very easy to feel empathy for them.

Ever since the cancellation I've been binge reading Yuuri on ice fics, it helps a lot. There are so many amazing fics in this fandom it helps with the grief

Rewatching this after several years I remembered how good Yuri and Victor were as partners, how nice it was to see Yurio's growth, how some of skaters were actually very inspiring even if they are minor characters and, once again, OTABEK ALTIN 🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿 *PATRIOTIC BERKUT NOISES*

Some things about me: 1. I will NEVER find any fandom in a timely manner. You like idk, Dungeon Meshi? Follow me and in 6 years you’ll get so much Dungeon Meshi art it’ll make your eyes bleed. 2. I started here almost 3 years ago wanted to simply learn how to draw and write better. And lately I've worried that mostly drawing klance is gonna lead me into same face syndrome territory. So I want to mix it up. 3. Despite the hyperfixations, I've always wanted to draw multifandom. I recently found YOI and they are too adorable. Yuuri is a complete gay disaster. 4. Klance is gonna continue for sure. I'm in the middle of the next installment of Water Guardian for the end of Lance's month.
