# THAT NOD THO
every single day i think about how horribly rumi’s poems have been translated from persian into english & how they’ve been turned from gorgeous poems abt islamic spirituality into these… pithy vapid little quotes that white people post as instagram captions. white scholars & translators straight-up falsified and misrepresented the essential themes of and islamic mysticism inherent to his work in favor of turning it into easy-to-consume love poetry & it never fails to make me angry

Y'all talk about people who want gramblack endgame as if we're some delusional shippers pushing an unreasonable and baseless agenda and it doesn't sit well with me. GramBlack were the secondary ship in the novel. They were the only other romantic ship in the novel. Their relationship with each other was an integral part of both of their character arcs. Gram's love for him is important for Black's growth. And it's not like the show hadn't been hinting at Gram's crush on Black like the book had before suddenly switching gears and pushing him to Eugene halfway through the show.
Eugene who doesn't like him romantically. Who sees him only as a friend. Whom he doesn't seem to have any romantic chemistry with. It just feels like Pat thinking he still likes Ing all over again imo. There's no romance there just confused feelings. So why am I and other gramblack shippers being called delusional for believing that a canon mlm ship will not be erased for no legitimate reason?
Not Me fandom makes no sense to me sometimes y'all are wack.
CUTIES!!!!

“Do you think there is the possibility of you and I? In this lifetime, is that too much to hope for? There is something so delicate about this time, so fragile. And if nothing ever comes of it, at least I have known this feeling, this wonderful sense of optimism. It is something I can always keep close to me—to draw from in my darkest hour like a ray of unspent sunshine. No matter what happens next, I will always be glad to know there is someone like you in the world.”

And here is a lengthy but detailed and well written text on why a documentary called “A town betrayed” is really not a good source to learn about what happend in Srebrenica.
This is in addition to a list I already made with documentaries about the war in Bosnia in general.
And there are also posts about Višegrad and Prijedor separately.
