Took me like, four hours to draw lmao, but! while drawing I realized that the in game sprite, and the portrait used in the character introduction trailer have slightly different designs, so i took a little bit from both ^^ along with my own personal touches. I hope you don't mind!

I love Kit Cat, and it's a shame that I don't talk about her much. Unfortunately my main blorbos are the CQ2 protagonists, and therefore Lioner and Wolfen by extension, but that's mainly because I can almost build them entirely from the ground up. There's enough info to start from, and plenty of gaps for me to fill in the rest
HOWEVER
That doesn't mean I don't like a good well established character. And as far as the Cat Quest franchise goes, Kit is a shining example of this. Mainly because we get to see her in TWO games instead of just one
Kit is characterized as an eccentric blacksmith, who's work is her hobby and passion. She also loves other media such as The Pouncing Dead and House of Parchments (I won't go into the implications of there being TV in this medieval lite setting. I will instead choose to be blissfully ignorant so it doesn't interfere with my timeline lmao). Basically what I'm trying to say is I think Kit would 100% be a Tumblr girlie lol.
We also know that she's been alive since before the Kingsblade War, since she was one of the people who forged it in the first place. I like to imagine she was around during the Dragon War too, so there's plenty of opportunity for her and Hotto to become friends with the first kings.
And APPARENTLY she had a younger brother (who I have to assume is probably just as immortal as she is). While I'm still unsure of her relationship with him (I should probably play CQ3 a couple more times to really get a feel for it), it doesn't seem like they've seen each other in person for quite some time.
ANYWAY
Now onto what this post was actually meant for
While I was playing CQ2 with a friend a while ago, she mentioned something that I haven't been able to get out of my mind.
In the second game, Kit mentions that she doesn't make weapons anymore. Which is interesting considering she's even taken commissions from the Lupus Empire in the past, if Spirry is to be trusted.
And to roughly paraphrase my friend:
It's no wonder Kit chose to stop making weapons, having her ultimate weapon, the Kingsblade, cause a war, and having to possibly make weapons for wars after...
Imagine a hobby you love dearly, and put your whole heart into, being used for such incredible violence! To be burned time and time again
It's no wonder she stopped

And yeah. Putting it into that perspective, it makes sense why she would just. Give up on weapons.
I also want to mention that Kit doesn't really seem to involve herself in politics at all. Even as far back as CQ1, albeit there was less of an incentive to.
But in CQ2 Lioner doesn't even know she exists it seems, or maybe he just doesn't care idk
But you'd think he'd fight pretty hard to get the greatest blacksmith in the world on his side.
I wonder if, because she stopped making weapons, her notoriety faded a little. And I wonder if perhaps she prefers it that way.
Anyway, Kit also seems to make every man fall in love with her. But she seems to take it pretty well, at least for what we see. I don't think she's doing it on purpose though.

Woooooo!! Through lots of blood, sweat, and procrastination the CQ2 project is finally done!!! I didn't like how flat it looked, so I added a texture overlay, that, and I decided to experiment with lens flares lmao

Your headcanons about Meowtallika are really interesting!
And I was thinking: based on your idea that he can't sleep, and that the crew avoids sunlight, do you think they do all their pirate activities at night? Or do they still plunder during the day out of fairness, and spend the night coming up with ways to lure people in so they can feed off of their souls?
Well, it's an interesting question here ! I personally think they still do a part of their pirates activities the day, out of fairness like you've said, but that their principal activities that require a lot more energy are made during the night.
For example, they would most likely make a raid during the sunset (for fairness and to not be completely advantaged : they are pirates, not monsters) but knowing the cycle of sleep the other cats and rats would use other types of ways to lure people, like his concert.
After all, what better way to collect souls than making them come to you? So I think his concerts are the main source of "food", if we can put that way, and with one chance to become another lych of his crew, but really a small chance.
So, for resuming my point :
Meowtallika and his crew plunder during the sunset, which means they finish at night, which is perfect for them personally.
For the night he uses his concert as a way to lure people since he's known for his music after all, and they eat their souls. (Even if there's a small chance of revival of the person as a member of his crew, it does not happen frequently)
And for a part of the day the crew just sleeps in the navires to take some rest while Meowtallika is on a creative moment for his songs or an art block. (Or anything else, really it can be everything )
And I think I've resumed their days when they are not disturbed, but of course there's a part that causes problems : the seeker.
In his journey they're in contact with Meowtallika and his crew the day, and as a personal theory I think it was because of the circumstances : the king pi-rat proposed an alliance and obviously the seeker was a threat for the north star who could have given them eternal life without them needing eating souls, which would lead at a trap from Meowtallika with his concert at day for eliminating the threat.

Yeah guys, I'm back with MORE fanart of the protagonist (from Cat Quest 3)
Next time I'm going to try Meowtallika (good luck for me...) besides that, I'm proud of myself! It's certainly not the best but it's a good start ! (And yes I made the grey thing an excuse to only paint half their faces, sorry)

So, with what we could read and learn in CQ3, it showed that they were like, some sort of cats who need souls to nourish themselves, and so I think they're some kind of Lyche, who are conscious zombies with magic(I don't know if it's their names in English) or they are cats spirits who consume the souls of others to live longer by resentment.
With that conclusion, it means they are cats who don't go to the Purrgatory and rest haunting places, or that they are rituals in the game for becoming immortal, since it's what Lyche do (the only problem with that is that they need to sacrifice a soul for becoming one and that after it's theirs principal source of energy. )
I don't really think we can really go further about that for the moment so let's go with my head cannons !
Meowtallika's crew are, for the majority, his fans -most likely other pirates- who ended up becoming Lyche by the influence of Meowtallika
Meowtallika can't hear the silence (the iiiiiii sound, or an alarm) , since he is in a loud environment most of the time, which disrupted his hearing capability.
The crew who are playing the other instruments with him are his right-hand men, and they regularly have a meeting about the last concert, which ends inevitably in total chaos.
Meowtallika can't sleep, since he's no longer 'properly alive'
It's rare but when Meowtallika has an art block he shuts himself in his room and destroys everything he can, before sitting down in the mess he created for hours.
Meowtallika's crew avoid the sun as much as they can, it burns them slightly.
They glow in the dark at command so one time when a rat from the pi-rat crew asked for a lamp the representation of Meowtallika's crew just started to glow.
And that's all for the moment, good night.

So hum guys, I've finished Cat quest 3. My god, it was simply awesome! And yes, I've got a new obsession! Ahem, besides that I want to say that it's my first post and uh... Here's a fanart, we're now three to make fanart of this game.
It's not finished (and I will certainly never) but there's more to come ! No, really I really liked Cat quest two but this one ? AWESOME.
