I read a lot of hatred on the show from people who definitely did not look for information on the story beforhand, and it shows.
The effect has never pretended to be a cute love story because it is not. From the very first episode, you can clearly see and feel that while Keng is definitely interested in Shin, the latter doesn't feel anything but respect toward his P'. Maybe the music is sometimes misleading, that's actually how I felt in the few situations where Shin and Keng were close to each other, but the main objects from this lakorn / novel are the somewhat "domino effects" harrassment can have. Rape can be one.
I found the second episode even better than the first. James prapatthorn is an amazing actor, and not once can we be deceived: No, Shin does clearly NOT love Keng, never has and would have maybe if Man did not start spreading photos and rumors about him and Keng, but we would never know. Now from the begining of the ep to the end we got Keng's point of you. That dude, god knows how much he deserves to be happy. And here again, the actor portrayed him perfectly. In a matter of fact, you can sense the tension bulding, the pressure accumulating. When Shin gets into the classroom and leaves him on his own, the camera zooms in on his clenching fist and that's when you know that he reached the point of no return. You get that Keng, even if he is surrounded by many, does not really have true friends. Plus his parents are terrible. I believe that he truely loves Shin with all his heart, and yet, what he does to Shin, blinded by anger and extreme sadness due to unrequited love, is the most terrible thing that could ever happen. The last scene is near unbearable, and that's how it's supposed to be. Rape is a nightmare that haunts you for life. (Must admit that I cried, AND YET I like this scene a lot because that's how it's supposed to be: horrible and NOT romanticised!!)
I'm eager to see the third episode. It's going to be a real challenge for both actors. And if you can't watch the show because it triggers you, then do not. Indeed, if they follow the storyline (which it looks like it), it will get darker. (No more rape, but PTSD, suicidal thoughts... stuff like that).
Before watching a show the scenario of which stems from a novel, try to look for some basic information on it. Some are lovely and cute stories and others are just very dark. Be careful.
(Also shout out to the support roles, Yacht Surat is yet again the friend everyone wants to have, Pramote is a sweetheart and I felt you, Man, you a b**** but I can relate [unrequited love, jealousy] and that talk on how Keng should accept the fact that he loves men regardless of what his parents think is đ)
reblog and write which song got you into kpop
Stanning Stray Kids is a really wholesome experience. Because sure, you get attracted by how cool they are on stage, by their good look, by their powerful dances, by their catchy songs. But then you get to know them, both as a group and individually, and you slowly discover the little things that made you love them even more. Itâs like falling in love with a best friend; itâs slow and steady, and it made to last.
Like when you find out how Hyunjin likes to read, and how he cries easily watching a film, and you fall for how emotionally sensitive he is as a person. When you discover how Seungmin silently hold his friendâs hand when they cry, but also how he annoys people with his weird noises, and you fall for how human he is. When you hear that Woojin will silently listen to the kidâs story at night even when heâs tired, and how he scolds them for being unruly, and you fall for how he takes care of boys. When you find out that Jeongin likes the color pink, and has a bunch of cute accessories, and is very blunt to his hyung, and you fall for how despite being so young he is already so steady with how he thinks. When you discover Minhoâs weird obsession with his cats, his small laugh, the way he refer to himself in third person, the confident way he carries his affection, and you fall for him for always being true to himself. When you see Changbinâs aegyo and brimming love for his family, the way he softly talk about them with love in his eyes, but also the excitement when he talks about the music he produces, and fall for how he loves so earnestly. When you discover Felixâs naivety, but also how he gives to the boys so generously, how he used to be anxious all the time and thatâs why he would always cutely check his pulse, when you discover his endless perseverance; you know you are falling by how you want to protect him. When you look at Jisung, and his quick wit and interesting sense of humor, and then you realise he is so so young. And you notice the way he speak, the depth of his thoughts; the weight that his lyrics carries, and you fall for how mature he is inside. Then you see Bang Chan. Bang Chan and his curls, and his awkward laugh, and his Naruto-running. Bang Chan with his Aussie accent and his never-ending appetite. But also Bang Chan with the eye bags, and his worried self at 5 in the morning, and you fall because you want to be there for him. You want to be there for him, and all the other kids, all the way through to the finish line.
Stanning Stray Kids is a wholesome experience. You see them grow, and grow with them. You see them learn, and learn with them. It is a journey; and itâs slow and we stumble along the way. But hey, itâs gonna be worth it.
This social network is unfortunately so dominated by people who are deeply indoctrinated by their pro-islam / anti-jews idealogy, which heavily relies on pathos and thus is easily convinced by Hamas and Leftist propaganda that this kind of rational and factual discourse do not have the audience it should have. Not to mention the SO MANY headache-inducing fallacies and the rewriting of history (no, not revisionism) I have read around here and that have been going around for years now.
Daily update post:
Last night, two more Israelis, who had been kidnapped, were released by Hamas. These women's husbands are still being held in Gaza. There are 220 known hostages after the release of four women in total. Among them, a nine month old baby remains in captivity.
Anyone trying to portray Hamas as "humanitarian" for releasing 4 out of 224 people, after having kidnapped them in the first place, after having beaten these elderly women on the day of the kidnapping, after butchering their relatives, and while still holding hostage some of their loved ones, has no moral backbone and is gaslighting people.
Almost 100 rockets were fired into Israel yesterday. Since Oct 7 and until Oct 24 in the afternoon (Israel time), a total of 7,512 rockets have been launched from Gaza at Israel, over 10% of them malfunctioned and landed in Gaza. That's over 800 rockets that Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad ended up harming Palestinians with (data is from a counter-terrorism research center).
The UN secretary general has given a speech in which he basically justifies the Hamas massacre, by saying that it didn't happen in a vacuum. I'd just like to say that justifying any violence against civilians is unconscionable. Justifying racist violence against civilians because they're Jewish or Jew-adjacent is unconscionable. I'm unequivocally against racist attacks by some Israeli settlers against Arabs, but those didn't happen in a vacuum either. Arab attacks on Jews go back centuries (far more than the 75 years of the State of Israel existing), the discrimination and persecution, repeated expulsions and massacres of Jews under Arab rule happened in Israel and in other countries for 1,300 years. And yet, most Jews fully condemn such racist attacks, without justifying it by talking about "context." The second we start justifying any kind of racist violence, we justify it all. It's wrong. If we're not justifying it all, if we're only justifying anti-Jewish racist violence, it's antisemitic.
I hope you can understand why Israelis have little faith in the UN.
Finally, just a reminder that the communities living closest to the Gaza border were very well known to be left leaning. Many of these people were peace activists, some were actively engaged in efforts to make the lives of Gazans better. Here are some of their stories:

He's a 10 but he's Bible Wichapas Sumettikul so he's actually a 12.
I finally figured out why the response from the global left made me so angry.
Jewish leftist, including myself, never hesitated to condemn the Israeli government and Israeli citizens for their treatment of Palestinians. for example- I know were I was in Huwara. I was calling out the brutality of the pogrom done by right wings extremeness, criticizing it, calling for punishment of the terrorists, warning that this escalation of violence would do nothing but continue the violence. we did not try and justify it as a neutral response for the murder of two people, no, I knew that this kind of behavior has no excuse.
and we did the same every single time. the Israeli left always knew where it was when the Palestinians were the victims of violence, we often stood right there next to them.
and the leftist of the world loved it. held us up to prove that they are right, "you see? even they agree! free Palestine!"
and we expected the same. we expected that if the horrors will come to us, the global left will support us. We knew that they struggle since Israeli missiles hit while Hamas/Hezbollah/Jihad missiles get intercepted by a system that costs millions to operate. but surely, they kept saying that they would have spoken out if the Jews are in danger, they will stand with us in our grief.
and then came October 7th.
and we were shown once again that we are nothing but a token.
people celebrated the attack, and even those who did notת hesitated to condemn it. It was people being butchered in their own homes, a fucking war crime! all while they were hurling hundreds of missiles at civilian targets! at homes, at playground, at hospitals!
and yet, if it was not celebrating, the global left was silent.
I read a colon by a Danna Frank she described how an Israeli women who study in Yell was shaken and crying the entire day, and no one asked for her well being. Frank herself received messages from friends abroad during that day, and one of them asked after the well being of Palestinian waiters in Ramallah and offered them prayers and not ask after her own fucking sake. Seeds for Peace, that always had what to say at the beginning of any Israeli operation, stayed quiet for days, when they did post something, it was to call against violence from both sides, not even mentioning the massacre. and there are so many more instances.
It hurt so much because it was a betrayal. a prof that we are only cared for when we are either a token or dead.
We stood up again and again and again for the rights of others, against our own deeds, and when it was our people left dead on the ground, the quiet was disturbed only by the sounds of celebration.
We should have known
The Israeli left and the Jewish left stand alone in the global stage.
We now know who are allies are.
âbecause a 16 year old girl who had her first orgasm whilst getting raped, had to watch her 34 year old rapist go free because she had an orgasm.
because when one of my guy friends told me and some friends he got raped by a woman when he was 12, a âfriendâ laughed at him and told him he should be happy he got laid that young.
because my 17 year old friendâs parents let her 14 year old brother roam the streets until 12am, but she has to be home by 10.
Because my brothers girlfriend, told the police she was raped and fell pregnant but the rapist didnât get jail time as she got an abortion and the âevidenceâ was gone.
because a guy from my old school was raped by another guy, but because heâs gay, they said it wasnât considered rape.
because a 19 year old lesbian got raped by a guy, and he didnât go to prison because he said âhe only tried to turn her straight so she would be accepted by her parentsâ.
because in some cultures, girls (and boys, of course) still get thrown out of the family because somebody sexually assaulted them.
because theyâre still teaching girls to walk faster at night instead of teaching boys that they shouldnât rape.
Because theyâre teaching kids that theyâre only male rapists and not female rapists too.
because I have to explain why rape makes me mad.â
Why am I still here? Just to suffer?? I reblog stuff and get DMs from sexy scammers. What a wonderful life.
