The bees came back today as the trees bloomed once more! đ
I would like to think that some part of the Gelflings who got drained- that their souls actually remain in the crystal. I would also like to believe that Tolyn was the last of the castle guards to get drained. And thoroughly got his spirit ass beat by all the guards who were definitely aware that Tolyn was the traitor after the revolt ended.
Especially that pretty Vapran girl. Ngl she and he were probably a thing and I can't imagine the pain his betrayal must have caused her. Which only makes me hate that snitch even more. How are you really gonna let your girl get drained because you want a promotion?
Tolyn is a BITCH
The DEFINITIVE ranking of the Gelfling Maudra
1. Maudra Argot: kooky badass grandma, great laugh, doesnât need her sight to see through your bullshit
2. Maudra Laesid: gave us Gurjin AND Naia, not here for any of Seladonâs shit, apparently has a pet eel big enough for children to ride on
3. Maudra Fara: not afraid of a little light rebellion, has a fizzgig, loses points for dying
4. Maudra Ethri (book version): has an eye made of emerald, Ocean Queenâ˘, still learning but recognizes that Onica knows whatâs up
5. Maudra Seethi: nailing her aesthetic, doesnât need to talk because her outfit says it all, goth
6. Maudra Mayrin: regal energy, gonna steal your stuff in the name of the law, helped make Brea and Tavra, also helped make Seladon, bad mom of the year award
7. Maudra Ethri (show version): nice hat?, pales in comparison to her book counterpart, no vibes whatsoever
8. Maudra Mera: shady af, bootlicker supreme, only gets points for raising Kylan
9. Seladon: rigged an election, tried to justify human (gelfling) sacrifice, gave up on being goth way too soon
Pls send some asks!! Work is dead todayyy

Update: due to multiple, and quite valid additions to this post, I have come to the conclusion (headcanon) that Gelfs are just capable of mimicking the noises they hear. And Deet definitely did a hollerbat call to scare those guards.
đđđ gentle and resourceful
Quick question: How the fuck did Deet make those noises when pretending to be a monster?
Second question: Can all gelfling go full cryptid like that, or is Deet just special?
Be calm. When you close your eyes, you will be lying in a field. The grass is soft. Around you, there is birdsong. The sun is warm on your face. The sky is blue above.
