Just so we're clear.
Fictives are not a sign of faking.
Quiet/Loud switches are not a sign of faking.
Large systems are not a sign of faking.
Switching a lot is not a sign of faking.
Not switching much is not a sign of faking.
Emotional amnesia is still amnesia.
Don't force people to address trauma they may not even remember.
Don't force people to remember trauma.
Childhood traumas don't have to be what an adult would consider extreme. Kids are a lot more sensitive to stimuli and cruelty.
And some systems have done fucked up shit in their childhoods, it's not their fault they had to survive.
Be kind, people need it.
experienced a trauma recently? you may be entitled to: a new fucking guy in your head
You got an ask earlier about your feelings on homosexuality, and now my curiosity is spiked. How are your feelings on the rest of the LGBT+/queer community? So many people skim over the T in that acronym, though you have written trans women before if I remember correctly (thinking of Sandman specifically)
I think I’m incredibly lucky that, for the last 28 years, one of my best friends has been a lesbian trans woman: she introduced me to, and opened my eyes to, several communities that I would never have encountered that early in my life without her. I’m glad that Sandman meant that people who might otherwise have never met me felt impelled to get in touch, or empowered to change their lives, and that many of those people have become friends over the years.
I think I’m blessed to have a queer daughter and a bi wife. And I like living in countries where the rainbow spectrum of people is celebrated.
a “horror” movie where the main character had DID/OSDD and they’re possessed by a demon but didn’t realize because the system just thinks there’s a new alter
If your first reaction to a mental disorder is to demonize it, you're ableist.
Yes, if your first reaction to paraphilias is to demonize them, you are ableist.
Yes, if your reaction to NPD/HPD/ASPD is to demonize them, you are ableist.
Yes, if your first reaction to actual intrusive thoughts is to demonize them, you are ableist.
Traumatic childhood? There's an alter for that. Trouble in school? There's an alter for that. Committing tax evasion? There's an alter for that! Causing an international diplomatic incident? Th
I think they should have kept the skill checks going in the sex scenes in BG3. Half way through, you critically fail charisma, say the least sexy thing imaginable in baby voice, and your lover is so overwhelmed by irredeemable cringe they ask you to leave.
what people think self diagnosis is: “lol I saw a tiktok of this disorder and it looks super fun so I’m gonna tell people I have it”
what it actually is: “I’ve had all these really bad symptoms for such a long time and i don’t have access to proper healthcare so I’ve been doing a lot of research and cross checking and talking to people who have this condition/disorder and they agree that I seem to have it. I’ve also looked into other disorders and conditions with similar symptoms but this one seems to match up with my experiences perfectly and learning about other people who live and deal with it makes me feel so seen so I’m going to self diagnose with it but I still understand that I may be wrong and if I ever do receive proper medical treatment I will be fully open to accepting it’s something else.”
