in my delsusional little world, nicoole and jecka have aminecraft wolrd that nicole built for them, and jecka just made their beds pink and put them together <3

Something about Nicole’s suicide ending fills me with such indescribable sadness that I don’t know how to describe. The fact she’s just hanging there, the room was dark, the computer was on, the bed was not made, the whole house was dead silent. Don’t even get me SYARTED on the suicide note either:

People are read, figured out and persuaded as Nicole says herself, but theyre also open, confusing or difficult and gullible. In that order can be a reference to Nicole before the game, listing to her mom’s advice and being a “nice” child, but ending up being gullible and vulnerable in the end. Being confusing/difficult can be Nicole struggling to “fit in” in society, with the mindset and attitude she has.

Nicole doesnt see another option besides manipulating people or being stupidly nice, with no in between. It shows the difference between how both of them think you should supposed ply act in society. Nicole thinks you should figure out how to change people to have control and ‘not get hurt’, whilst her mum thinks that you should be respectful, and - in Nicole’s eyes - vulnerable. An open target, really.

Nicole recognises that she CAN act like her mum says, she knows it’s an option, except she’s also aware that men do see woman as objects and things to stick their dicks in, and in a place where she is mostly interacting with men, it crosses it off as something she can do, because she knows if she does, she WILL get hurt. She’s aware that she’s supposed to ignore the warnings and calls it out but she’s also aware that she won’t be heard, by a majority of people.

I feel you can interpret this im different ways. I personally see it in two different lights - sarcastic (people like crispin are seen as people with no career goals, or realistic ones, and he’s most likely (obviously in Nicole’s eyes) a rapist, yet no one ever checks because they’re seen as less educated) and Nicole seeing no problem with ‘settling down’ with someone who doesn’t have a bright future ahead of him (idk I feel like this is a reach and doesnt make sense but this is the best I can describe what im thinking 😭)

If you call out people on shit behaviour, you’re seen as ‘disrespectful’ or something along those lines. If you ignore them, you might have a good life, but in the end you will be caught up in vulnerability. Nicole frequently called out and accused men of inappropriate behaviour, and she was both hated for it and liked for it, however in the end, she called out someone who didn’t have a line to cross and in the end she couldn’t ’handle?’ It, the pressure and most likefesr of what would happen to her, as again, the men in this game dont have a line they can cross.

This is such a line. Nicole’s dad killed himself, yeah, and Nicole could just be referencing the fact they both died the same way, but were not told why he kills himself, we just know it’s apparently Nicole’s fault. This could open up so many different reasons on why he did it (Nicole’s mum giving him less visitation rights, the divorce, etc etc or just being under pressure). I think my favourite thoughts in this line is that potentially, Nicole knew why her dad killed himself, and only she alone had the actual reason, which is why she says it - knowing people will just think it’s because they’re both dead/died the same way

Nicole probably didn’t have any. If anything, she might if had one or two, four at most. Even then, they were things her mum had found one the floor walking (or mediocre ones so she didn’t look like a bad mum)

Jecka had everything she wanted at her hands. Barbies, plushies, dress up, tea sets. She loved things that were princess themed, or pink really. She liked toys that let her do stuff as well (like fisher price toys) . She actually had quite a bit of pink fisher price toys, and LPS

Emily again, had everything she wanted because, well, she was rich. She had a mix of “girl” toys, but her brother would give her his old ones because he was like, ten years older. Mainly fisher price, but she had a lot of toy kitchens, and a few of those table things idk what theyre called but they’ve got all the activities on them. I feel like she would have also been a very sensory seeking child, so she had a lot of sensory toys too.

Ari had Barbie’s and teddies and she was okay with that 🫶 she played a lot of make believe with them

Kelly, again, was rich as FUCKK. So she had so, so many toys. She had fisher price, LPS, Barbie, MLP, play Doug, hello kitty etc.. safe to say she had loads and never played with them all. She did favour the LPS though, she likes all the animals

Anyway I got distracted

She has a little brother, his name is smth generic like jack, Jake, Finley (I like this one so ima stick w this) or whatever. Hes 8 in the re-up, and hes literally such a cutie. Jecka is putting all of her free energy into being somewhat of a good big sister. She’ll play with him, watch tv with him, read with him, let him “help w homework” (when he was little, like 4) and like, protect him when their parents got violent, aggressive, started arguing or shouting etc.

She really loves her mum, like, a lot and she hates it sometimes. Since her mum puts all her time and effort into looking good, heroin, alcohol, cigs etc, Jecka (from a young age) picked up these habits (like smoking and drinking and looking good all the time) and cant get rid of them. But when her mum is sober, or trying to be, she is actually an alright mum, like jecka can tell her about school, about some drama she leaves stuff out of, they paint nails, or just sit at the table talking, and she genuinly really enjoys it because again, she really loves her mum and hates to hate her.

Hopes her dad kills himself

She drinks monster quite often with Nicole if they can’t get any alcohol (or they mix it w it for a fun kick) and her favourite flavour is pink or watermelon. In my silly British au Ive made up in my head (pls ask abt im dying), she drinks the winter edition, watermelon and any pink version of redbull, because the can is pretty.

She doesn’t really know what she wants to be when she’s older, so she’s picked something like a nurse or surgeon for now. Honestly I never really think about it like that because my favourite version is some random version of the meth eaters au.

She was never allowed friends over for sleepovers during middle school and elementary school because neither of her parents could stay sober past 6pm. They would have screaming matches (including breaking stuff) at last mindnihgt.

Jecka - she really does love her mum, like she loves spending time with her. She also loves spending time her little brother (hc thats he exsits and is 8 when jecka is 17), even if he annoys her like shit. She thinks he’s adorable.

Nicole getting up close to Emily. Their lips almost touching yet neither of them actually move to close the gap. Emily was the only one who was more fucked up than Nicole. Sometimes, Nicole was actually intimidated by Emily. However she was just a kid too. She was fucked up, demonstrated by the various scars decorating her stained skin. Nicole wondered -ironically because the same thing was happening to her- how anyone could actually hurt a kid. I mean, dont get her wrong, Nicole disliked them as much as the next person, but she wouldn’t go out of her way to hurt them. They didn’t actually do anything. One night, emily opened up to Nicole, randomly and out of the blue, but Nicole couldnt stop her before the tears started welling. Telling her about how as much as she loved the fact everyone was somewhat scared of her - the control she had was euphoric - it hurt her so much. People were scared to come close to her; the disgust when they saw her arms was enough to sting a bit, but fear was something worse, so deeply worse. She didn’t want people to be scared of her. These were people she knew. Fair enough of it was someone like Jeffery or Kylar, because Emily would prefer them to back off, but when it’s someone like Ari, or her own mom, that’s when it starts to burn. Nicole wasn’t afraid. She was intimidated yes, but not afraid. She, as not straight as it was, wanted Emily to fucking know she wasn’t afraid because fuckkkkkkk, she had something for mentally unstable girls.

When they’re shown pictures of them when they were kids “where’s my happy girl gone?” with their carefree smiles, dirt smeared in their cheeks having the time of their lives doing what little kids do. What did they do to deserve what was handed to them?

Jecka’s left for college, shes left home, cut contact with everyone, and starting over. However it’s not the same like it is back home, where she would sit on the roof with Nicole and look at the stars, and the moon. The moon she can’t see anymore. She tries hard to see it and the star once more, but she’s unable to.

Nicole’s mom finally gets her to leave the house, and it ends up being when Nicole texts Jecka after 6 months asking to meet again, for coffee. She thinks it’s gay, but you gotta do what you gotta do. When they finally see each other again, they’re awkward and nervous and unsure in what to do, and that spirals into an awkward hug, that doesn’t feel like “them”. They never hugged (besides when they were drunk or high off of their tits) and it just doesn’t feel right because it wasn’t their thing and wasn’t about to become it either.

Sometimes Jecka falls asleep in her shitty college bed, and if she thinks hard enough it’s like being back home. Home where she was able to walk a few minutes and she’d be at Nicole’s house. She misses this but Nicole isn’t good for her. Jecka had always thought Nicole was made at her for leaving, so when she starts thinking, Nicole isn’t mad. In fact, shes happy - something Jecka didnt normally see, but genuinely loved it.

And in that dream, I will say everything I wanted

The said thoughts become a constant dream for the next week, and Jecka’s able to spill her guts to Nicole. She’s rambling about anything and everything when she starts talking about how leaving her feels like a piece of her was missing, and she hasn’t found something to permanently fill it, because nothing will ever come close to Nicole. She was like a rare, one of a kind artifiact you could never replace.

Nicole still lives at her mom’s house, paying rent but unemployed. Most nights she lays in bed, mind wandering but it always comes back to jecka. She falls asleep and shes once again in her prime era - being seventeen - and everything back to normal. Jecka is still a ten minute walk away (it would be five but Nicole cant be asked to walk faster). Ever since jecka left, Nicole blamed herself, for no particular reason. She just felt like it was fitting - everything was her fault anyway, this wasn’t anything special. Except it hurt worse when jecka stopped texting and calling. “Shes mad at me” was a constant thought, but now, in her stupid yet comforting make believe land, Jecka isn’t angry at her, and they’re smoking cigarettes in her bedroom again.

Jecka always wanted to go to college, and do something with her life. She was getting everything she wanted - a well paying job, a rich husband, a new life with no toxicity or abuse or drugs. Nothing to ruin the perfect image she was slowly building brick by brick, chapter by chapter, line by line. She wasn’t wasting time like Nicole, who was still taking every pill in the medicine cabinet. Like Nicole, who was staying in bed until 6pm the next day, wasting away. Like Nicole, who couldnt move out of her mom’s house because she had learned to be depends on her. Jecka would say it was a small thing, her moving away “I’ll still call you, dumbass,” but being left alone with her thoughts, the only one left who hadn’t gotten their life together yet might if actually ended Nicole’s world.

Jecka thinks back about Nicole, and that girl has what she wanted - no job, no school, drugs and alcohol and a bed. She had razor blades, and shit - maybe she would kill herself before she was 30. It didn’t seem much, and probably stupid to other people, but they didn’t know Nicole like Jecka did. College had been a slow, slow walk so far - Jecka felt like she had learned nothing, since she learned all this back in high school. It felt like she was wasting away at her desk, slaving over her laptop and a bit of A4 paper. Nicole always seemed uncaring or unaffected when jecka mentioned college. It was a small thing, supposedly. It didn’t matter, because they were only high school friends anyway - this was destined to happen. However Nicole didnt know how Jecka would lay there and sob, because she was fucking her life over. She didn’t want a career in the medical field. She didn’t want a rich husband. She didn’t want a new life; she wanted something small, but payed her rent - or something big like an actor, so she could get the attention she craved. She didn’t want a rich husband - shit, she didn’t even like guys! She wanted a wife. Or girlfriend or whatever you called it. She didn’t want a new life - she wanted the messy, toxic one she had before with Nicole. Her world collapsed inwards when she started her car, her own glassy eyes catching Nicole’s dead ones in the rear view mirror.
