Summer is here!

My school just got out, so now I have much more time to work on comics! I can finally pick Mr. Sleepy back up!!

I drew Alphys and Nimiee from the next episode of UnderAnger. (Still not sure when that's gonna be done 😅)

Other than that, do you know what this means? BTA will be a year old soon! And UA's many different versions will be... Well, the newest version is already a year old, the old comic will be 5 years old soon, the old written version will be 6 in december, and the ORIGINAL paper comic is roughly 9 years old. Woah... (UA has a lot of history lol)

I should probably do something for Before the Angers first birthday, right? Its on July 8th! What can I do in that time? An animation? Theme songs? Both? (don't get your hopes up about that lol)

It's actually kinda crazy how in-character this is! Some of these concepts were things I was thinking about adding into the comic!

Siqua: None Taken! I guess it’s easier to enjoy something when you don’t have to worry about deadlines and work.

Alphys: I guess that makes sense

Siqua: And I’m not saying I don’t like my Job. I love it, it pays well, I have great friends, and I discover so much! However—If something does happen, I’ll have something to bounce back on!

This drawing, for some reason, prompted me into writing Papyrus's psychology page. I already have a page on Sans and Gaster and I'm planning on doing a page on all of the characters. (Pretty much, to keep all my thoughts in order, I write the characters motives and general psychology, going through all of their life events to create one solid list of traits and habits and stuff. I call it the "psychology pages". They are all a mess.)

How can I resist drawing someone as great as him?

How I missed drawing in my sketchbook 💔💔

I find traditional drawing more easier to do then digital, despite doing nothing but digital art for almost a year😭

On the left are just my Ocs doing there thing. (And me)

On the right are some characters from BTA by @bri-jo-g (because I really wanted to draw Alphys and Siqua again)

I made that drawing of Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne as kids, so I decided I'd give Gaster and Siqua the same treatment!

Its just little digital sketches. I first started this page thinking it was just gonna be hand doodles, so Gaster is signing "red" (very dramatically) but then I got carried away with drawing the kiddies...

Gaster seems pretty standoffish even as a kid.

Not sure what magic I'd give Siqua. I just made it vaguely watery-looking. It doesn't matter much, her magic can be up to interpretation! She never really used it anyway.

Baby Alphys has shown up before in the comic... But now she's accompanied by someone.

Its also something that could be called laziness

But uhh i still think its called neglect, gaster.

Im almost done with finals and its going pretty good so far! Obviously I dont think ill have enough time to draw something new, but I can show some art that I've never posted!

I chose this because my first thought when I saw your drawing (Well, after I had to reassemble my heart, of course) was that the composition and color scheme reminded me of this drawing.

Its a clothing guide for the MCs because I want their fashion to reflect them. The only reason its even intelligible is because I wanted to make it look good in case I wanted to post it later. Normally when I make self-notes like these, it looks like unreadable garbage.

Before the Anger— episode 64, "Theories are so Immature."

Let's be honest, Alphys. You hardly know Siqua. How come you immediately assume she's being manipulated?

I was once asked how I come up with the titles of my episodes. It changes every time: sometimes its just something random; sometimes its characters speaking; it could be from the readers perspective, too. Ex. "Wait, Chara!?" Was an exclamation from the "reader", since that episode was the first mention of Chara. In the case of this episode however, Gaster is saying the title. Why do characters say titles? No reason... for now...

((Chara pried her eyes away from the ghosts that always seemed to dance behind her eyes to turn to Asriel. She grinned and cocked her head to the side. Asriel cleared his throat, “I wanted to ask you… do you— do you ever miss your old parents?” he asked. Chara paused, surprised, “Why do you ask?”))

Thank you for the hype!! I got this notification just as I finished the episode, and this was a nice celebration. Its finals right now and I was getting kinda concerned I wouldn't be able to post this week 😅 but fret not! Last-minute hyperfocus saves the day once again!

Making comics is weird because ill spend so much time on an episode and finally finish at some random time, feel proud for a moment, then be like... ok now time to wait until thursday...

I made house maps for Siqua, Alphys, and Gaster since I keep having trouble with continuity :)

Gaster's house map is a bit of a mess since its two stories and I wanted to show what it looks like from the side...

Sans and Papyrus have to share a bed. Maybe that's me projecting from when I had to share a bed with my sibling as a kid. You'll never know!

I really enjoy interior design and all that, so this was very fun. There was also an extra challenge of piecing together the parts of the houses that I've already put in the comic.

I drew Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne as infants/ toddlers. They are very fun to draw: I love Undyne's tiny pigtails, Sans's huge eyes, and Papyrus's huge boots.

I will not give any context or elaborate further, to avoid saying too much 😅 (good luck trying to read my handwriting, friends...)

Before the Anger- episode 62, "Again with the Student Party..."

It's been quite a while since there's been an episode in the break room!

Asgore doesn't have to go to the student party, but he chooses to anyway, so your point is kinda weak, Gaster.

Did you notice Gaster's strangely specific hand motions? When he talks, he tends to vaguely sign words in sign language. He said two words in this episode: "cruel" and he started to say "frustrated" but he stopped himself. He hid his hands twice: beginning 3 panels and last 3 panels. Where did this muscle memory come from? Is it deliberate?

((“Hey, Chara?” Asriel started, clearing his throat. His voice was deeper now, not by any physical maturity, but emotional. Chara had changed now, too; her chubby cheeks had now shrunken to show her structure; her body had grown taller, more slender; she had started to look more like a “woman”, but Asriel could never think of Chara as such.))

THEORY THEORY THEORY!!! I love the attention to the timeline!!!!

I looked at the bonus art thinking I wouldn't be traumatized. I was wrong. Equivalent of a Rick roll. /j

A small theory/Observations I have for BTA (by: @bri-jo-g)

I personally think that Siquas Former Husband died when their house got burnt down a while back.

During the 80s’ Siqua said that she “took herself way too seriously and that she was embarrassed” Undyne was born around 1985, since the present BTA takes place in 1994. Siqua and Gaster could have easily still been “serious partners in crime” while neglecting their own children.

However, I think that something changed in 1988, right around when Sans was born. Siqua said that her and Gaster stopped soon after Sans was born and That she lost her husband.

Undyne would have been around 3-4 years old. Just when she starts to have a mind of her own. She could have very easily wanted to cook breakfast for her parents—then the house burnt down. Siquas husband could have easily died while protecting Undyne from the flames. After that day, Siqua made it a priority to put undyne above all else and treat her like how a real mother should. It can also explain how snappy she gets at Gaster for neglecting his own kids. Because she has seen how bad it could get. Gasters lack of care could easily have him or his children killed (it didn’t but Siquas reaction is justified)

Also there’s also a scene in BTA where Papyrus almosts burns the house down while Gaster just doesn’t care.

Siqua had the Ability to Change as a Person because something terrible happened to her.

Gaster changed those feelings into a not so happy fact after the massacre

Grillby, noo...

In this picture, she's showing them how to say "asshole". Papyrus is trying to copy her (success rate... not looking good) and Sans is just watching and learning. Ah yes, such good influences the skeleton brothers have...

This is Grillby IV as she appears in BTA: a teenager. She is sixteen. Technically, this is not her first job, since she helps her dad (Grillby III... It's easier to keep naming heirs "Grillby" than changing the name of the restaurant) at the restaurant. But this is the first one she's being paid for!

All of the Grillbys are proficient in sign language, since fire can't talk. Don't think too hard about that, the Grillbys aren't much more than a bit XD

She's on the surface! Alphys would love a hot sun ! She's a cold blooded creature after all

... Well, she doesn't have blood, but the same rules apply anyway... Somehow?
