If I was writing a one piece filler episode, I would have one of nami's tangerine trees grow a devil fruit and the whole episode is just the crew arguing about what they should do with it.
Nami wants to sell it. Chopper and Robin want to study it. Zorro and Sanji want to force feed it to the other just so that they can make fun of them for not being able to swim. Usopp keeps flip-flopping between wanting to eat it to get stronger and going down anxiety spirals of worst case scenarios. Everyone else is kind of just chill about it while Luffy patiently listens to each of their cases.
Luffy also almost eats it on accident several times. In fact one time he does bite into it frightening every member of the crew half to death before they notice a small chunk missing from the other side. In the end it turns out a rat ate it. It grows pigeon wings and flies away or something like that.
