Now that Lisseth Chavez is sadly no longer apart of the show I hope that Chicago PD adds another character of color to the unit. I really hope Kevin doesn't go through the entire season as the only Poc on the unit especially with his storyline this season. I'm going to miss Rojas especially the friendship between Upton/Rojas and Atwater x Rojas.
The one thing i won't miss is the Upstead fandom taking over the entire Vanessa Rojas tags and making everything the character did about Upstead. White fandoms always do that; they take one of the few main POC characters and make everything they do about their favorite boring straight white couple. As if characters of color exist only to prop up their favorite white couple of the week.
Anyways I'm excited to see the Lisseth Chavez on Legends Of Tomorrow she's going to be awesome!!!
Why is it that the latest episode of Chicago pd about an abuse victim ended up being more about Jay than Hailey. Hailey who was an actual abuse victim when she was a kid. I would of rather of seen Hailey save that women and kick ass. It would of been nice to see a scene with just Hailey and Michelle. I know that Jay is the epitome of hot straight white male fan favorite but he gets more screen time and background then everyone combined. I'm still waiting for more background on Atwater and his life. Plus it would of been the perfect opportunity to see more of Hailey and Rojas and how their doing as roomates.
Am i the only one that doesn't ship most of the Chicago pd ships. Upstead, Bruzek , Upzek or whatever the Hailey/Adam ship name is. The only straight ships i like is Atwater/Rojas Voight/Olivia and Platt/Mouch. Chicago PD is one of my favorite shows but it is in need of some LGBT content. For a second I thought they were hinting that Hailey was gay/bisexual in one of her undercover storylines but turned out to be a throwaway line unfortunately. The show should at least stop focusing so much on Jay and Adam and putting all the available girls with them. The show is not only about the hot white male favorites Halstead and Ruzek. What about Kevin Atwater?
Kevin Atwater hasn't had a good solo story in awhile let alone a romance that didn't end in an arrest. He seems to only exist to give Ruzek advice and stop cops from shooting black kids. Hopefully with the addition of Rojas we'll get some more screen time for him this season. Let's not even talk about what they did to Antonio. Until recently they put Burgess on the back burner and she's only getting screen time now for a boring predictable pregnancy storyline. I miss season 3 Burgess i think that was her best most action packed season and she was still a patrol officer back then! I think my favorite episode last season was when Burgess and Upton were kidnapped. They kicked ass and saved themselves. I want more episodes like that!
Speaking of characters i miss Trudy Platt needs more screen time and I want her friendship with Burgess back. Chicago PD should bring back the patrol officers with Platt. I loved that dynamic in the show plus it gave me more Platt. Also what happened to the Burgess/Atwater friendship? They used to be best friends in the earlier seasons. Now Atwater/Ruzek are best friends and the Burgess/Atwater friendship has completely disappeared. Now that I'm thinking of all the friendships on Chicago PD. There are literally no female friendships left on the show except Upton and Rojas but that's barely hinted at so far and the Upton/Burgess friendship is tainted by them both dating Adam Ruzek.

Chicago Fire (2012-)
“I like you. I know you know that and I miss you.”
That pause...
Info: Y/n spends her first Christmas without her father, but she tries to remember the good times while making new traditions without her.
Relationship: Halstead sister
Warnings: grief, loss parent
Pat Halstead wasn’t father of the year, but to y/n he was at least half decent. He made sure she got some form of a happy childhood, even if she did miss the loss of her mother. Will and Jay were never really around, so it was always the two of them against the world. It hurt her when she heard Jay yelling at their father upon his return, claiming that he was an unfit parent for the youngest Halstead. Sure Pat had his over fill of beer, but he never threw anything but love towards his only daughter.
Christmas was the father daughter duos favourite time together. They would always spend the first weekend of the month decorating the house, Pat even stayed sober for the day, which was a bonus to y/n. Jay was surprised with how much effort the Halstead father put into making the festive time enjoyable for y/n. Will and Jay had grown up when their mother died, but even when she was alive Pat wasn’t one to celebrate anything.
Now, with her father gone, y/n was finding it hard to get into the Christmas spirit. The traditions they held from baking gingerbread men, to sitting on her fathers shoulders to put the star onto the tree even though she was way past the age of light. The nearly 18 year old found herself at a loss, wanting to celebrate but also not wanting to accept that she would be doing it without her father and best friend. Will and Jay tried to help, both not grieving their father as much as their sister at this time, but when they turned up with a Christmas tree at the door, the waterfall of tears began.
We put the lights up on the tree And all the presents underneath Light the fire, it's getting cold Another year of "Will it snow?" Mixing lager and champagne Somethin' I'll never do again Round the table banter flows Praying no one rocks the boat
Y/n stared at her brothers as they placed the real tree up into the living room, both brothers watching their sister with caution. Both of them knew that the youngest of the three siblings would always go tree hunting with their father on the first Saturday of December before bringing it home and stringing it with lights and baubles. But now without her father, y/n felt no desire to help cut the wire that was currently holding the tree compact, nor did she usually do her usual cheer when the branches sprung out.
“Hey y/n, you wanna help?” Jay asked, grabbing the scissors from the bits and bobs drawer under the TV. “Why would I do that?” Y/n mumbled, slouching in on herself as she tried to avoid her brothers gaze. “Come on y/n, you and dad used to always do this.” Will spoke, and Jay glared at him abruptly. “Yea, me and dad, I don’t see him anywhere, do you?” Y/n spoke harshly, tears building in her eyes as she narrowed her eyes at her brother. “Y/n, please, dad wouldn’t want you to be like this.” Jay pleaded, trying to help his little sister. “How would you know, you never liked him.” Y/n yelled, bawling her hands into fists at her side. “He never gave us a reason to like him after mom died.” Will muttered, and Jay threw his hand out at him. “Will, shut up.” Jay spoke harshly before moving to his sister. “Come on y/n, you love Christmas. Even if dad’s not here you can still make some memories, in honor of him.” Jay stated, placing a hand on y/n’s shoulders. “I don’t want to do this without him.” Y/n spoke tearfully, collapsing onto the couch gently. “He’s always with you. We can make new traditions if you’d rather.” Jay tried to be helpful, wanting to help his sister somewhat enjoy her favourite holiday.
Y/n looked at her brother with tears falling down her cheeks, and Jay sighed before pulling her into his arms, rocking her gently. Will looked down as he heard his sisters cries, not wanting to overwhelm her. She was always the type who wouldn’t take too much comfort, one person was enough, so him joining would distraught her. Hearing her snuffling, Will looked up to see y/n looking at where he was standing, the tree beside him.
“Can we make some baubles this year, maybe a few in honor of dad?” Y/n asked, trying to think positive. “I think that’s a great idea.” Jay smiled, tucking her hair behind her ear. “I’ll go get some things for us to use.” Will stated, moving to kiss y/n’s head before leaving the house to head to the shops.
Still I know, this picture's not quite right There's someone on your mind First Christmas time without him by your side, I know The sound of Christmas bells They never say farewell So we laugh, we shed a tear For those who can't be here
Y/n lay on the couch, staring ahead of her as a simple memory came from a decoration she had grabbed from the box. Taking her brothers advice to make new traditions, y/n had tried to decorate the remaining of the house after school was finished. But the deer decoration that she had found produced memories that she couldn’t shake. A shake on her shoulder lead to her jumping out of her thoughts, and a watery smile to appear as she looked up at the brother who shook her.
“Hey, you ok?” Will asked, smiling lightly at his sister. “Yeah, just trying to finish these while I’m interested in it.” Y/n explained, throwing the deer beside her on the couch as she moved her feet for Will to sit beside her. “You know it’s okay to have your mind spiraling, you’ve lost both parents before your eighteen, that’s a lot for someone, regardless of their age.” “You and Jay seem fine.” Y/n mumbled, wiping her sleeve against her cheek. “Jay and I didn’t have the same relationship as you did with dad, but we miss him regardless, don’t think we don’t.” Will spoke softly, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “I don’t want to feel this way, I want to enjoy the holidays but I feel like if I do than I’m forgetting about dad.” Y/n spoke, leaning her head on Will’s shoulder. “You could never forget about dad, he’s someone who’s been in your whole life, that’s not forgettable.” Will smiled softly, squeezing his sister gently. Y/n looked up as she  heard the sound of bells outside the window. “Dad always cursed those bells.” Y/n smiled sadly, sniffling slightly. “Well they are pretty annoying.” Will nodded in agreement with the statement, “Come on, I’ll help you finish this than we can go out for dinner.” Will offered, picking up the abandoned deer and standing up. “Can we stay to watch the Christmas lights turn on in the town?” Y/n asked, having never done it before as her father used to think it was useless when they’d be seen for the month anyway. “Sure, we can do that.” Will smiled lightly, taking y/n’s hand to help her off the couch.
We're drinking sherry just because Confessing all our Christmas love Watch Home Alone for the thousandth time It's the only movie that we all like
Will and y/n had winded up standing at the police district to watch the lights, and Jay had even arrived back from a case to catch them and join. Y/n couldn’t help the smile that spread on her face, and unshed tears built in her eyes as she felt guilt for a brief moment. Guilt that she was enjoying herself even after the loss of her father.
Following the lights, Will brought y/n home and stayed with her for the night. It had become a ritual where the brothers would take turns staying at the house with y/n, as she refused to leave the home she had grew up in, and leave the memories upon the wall. Will set up the sitting room while y/n left to get changed into her pjs’s, wanting to be cozy for the night.
Setting two mugs of hot chocolate onto the table, Will turned when he heard his sister walking down the creaky steps, smiling softly when he seen her in a red set with reindeers dotted around the fabric He squinted at her in confusion as she walked towards her, acting shy as she came to a stop in front of him.
“What’s up?” Will asked, seeing her rocking on the balls of her feet. “Can we wear matching pajamas tonight while we watch Home alone?” Y/n asked, moving her hands from behind her back to show him the matching pjs's. “We watch home alone so many times, do we really have to.” Will fake groaned, making fun of y/n. “Dad used to always watch it with me, but we never done matching pjs's as I always wanted.” Y/n frowned, looking down at the memories. “I would love to match with you.” Will grinned, taking the material from her hands and slapping them over his shoulder. “You get the film ready and I will be down in a minute I made hot chocolate as well.” Will smiled, ruffling his sisters hair affectionately before moving to his and Jay’s old room to change.
But I know, this picture's not quite right There's someone on my mind First Christmas time without him by our side, I know He loved these Christmas bells 'Cause they never say farewell So we laugh, we shed a tear For those who can't be here
Jay came to the house the night before Christmas, groaning as he stretched his shoulders back, hearing the cracks in his back. Y/n and Will were in the kitchen, prepping the dinner for tomorrow. Y/n refused to get a turkey despite it being a traditional food for Christmas, so the brothers had compromised with a small chicken, draping rashers over it like they would a turkey.
“Hey guys, I feel so overdressed.” Jay commented, seeing the matching pj’s his siblings wore. “I left a pair for you in your guys room.” Y/n spoke, moving away from Will to hug Jay. “Lovely.” Jay spoke, grimacing at the thought of matching pj’s. “Jay.” Will warned. “I’m joking.” Jay told him, wrapping his arms around y/n’s shoulders as she leaned into him. “I think we’re finished here.” Will announced, moving the chicken and ham into the oven so they were ready in the morning. “I’m gonna go to my room before the film starts.” Y/n stated, moving away from her brothers abruptly. “You ok?” Jay asked, frowning as he seen how quick y/n’s attitude changed. “Yeah, just wanna freshen up a bit.” Y/n spoke, moving towards the stairs. “Code for needing a moment alone.” Will mumbled at Jay weakly, and Jay nodded in agreement.
Y/n all but ran up the stairs to get to her room. Sitting on her bed, she allowed herself to take a look around her, smiling sadly as she seen the stocking that hung on her wardrobe. It was tradition that her and dad would fill a stocking for each other, and realisation came to her as she realized that he really wouldn’t be here. The first year they wouldn’t be sharing stockings, and the first year it would just be the three siblings.
Christmas used to be one of the most exciting days for y/n. Even as she grew older, her and Pat would always make the day different to the rest. It was another day of the week, but doing things a little different was what made the day special. Tears built in her eyes, and she allowed them to fall as she tried to remain quiet.
Jay stood outside her door, hearing his sisters infrequent breathing. Unshed tears lay in his eyes as he let her have her moment, thinking of the younger days when Christmas had his mom and dad around. Their mum would always make the day special for them, and their dad always lay around the couch, helping them build whatever it was they got that year. Having both parents gone were hard, but he knew it was harder for y/n. Pat was the only actual parent she had in her life, with her mother dying when she was two.
“Hey y/n, you ready to go down?” Jay asked, knocking on the door but not opening it. “I’ll be down in a minute.” Y/n called out, and Jay smiled sadly as he heard the sniffling she had.
Jay and Will were sitting on either side of the couch when y/n walked down the stairs, a space in the middle waiting for y/n. Smiling softly y/n reached to grab a pretzel from the tray the brothers had made for the movie night. Leaning at the back of the couch, y/n closed her eyes for a moment, trying to allow the festivities to roll over her.
For those who can't be here For those who can't be here (The bells ring out for them) For those who can't be here (The bells ring out for them) For those who can't be here The bells ring out for them For those who can't be here The bells ring out for them For those who can't be here
Christmas morning rolled by quickly, and unlike usual, y/n lay in bed staring at the ceiling. Jay and Will had already gotten up and y/n had heard them walking by her door numerous times, no doubt keeping an eye on her. Tears were falling down her cheeks freely, and she refused to wipe them away.
It was near noon when y/n finally plucked up the courage to get out of bed. While usually she’d get done up for the day, instead she decided to stay in her pj’s, and threw her hair into a top not so it wasn’t in her face. Jay was the one to greet her as she walked the last step, wrapping her into a hug and kissing her cheek.
“I know you don’t want to, but tears are okay today.” Jay talked into her hair, refusing to let her go. “I tried, I really tried.” Y/n mumbled into his chest, feeling him rub his hand along her back. “You don’t have to try anything. Treat it as any other day.” Jay stated, pulling away from her as Will walked towards them. “The food is ready when you want it.” Will smiled, pulling her into a hug as she clung to him, embedding her face into his shoulder. “Did you make the stuffing?” Y/n asked, causing her brothers to laugh “Just how you like it.” Will stated with a nod.
“Thank you guys.” Y/n thanked the brothers with a smile at the end of the night as they sat on the couch, defeated from the dinner the brothers had made. “You don’t have to thank us.” Will shook his head. “We’re your brothers, it’s what we do.” Jay smiled, throwing an arm behind her lazily. “Happy Christmas dad.” Y/n smiled, looking at a picture of him on the mantelpiece. “I’m sure he’s enjoying the beer and sherry like always.” Jay stated, leaning his head on y/n’s as she lay it on his shoulder.

Info: Y/n suffers with panic attacks, and counting seems to help
Relationship: Halstead brothers x sister
From a young age y/n had always been an anxious child. While her class mates ran around the school yard playing, y/n opted to spend her time curled up in a ball at the corner of the yard, avoiding the concerned looks of teachers. The teachers never bothered her, she was a troubled kid who had good grades so they saw no need to chastise her. She lost her mum early on, and it was no secret that her father was found of the drink. Bother her brothers left home even before their mother died, so the young girl only had herself really.
When Jay returned, he seen the way his sister was and tried to get her out more often. He’d bring her to the park and try encourage her to play with the other children. It always ended in tears, so Jay ended up leaving it, thinking his sister would eventually come out of her shyness and find friends of her own. However in high school y/n became the loner of the class, no one went near her until class projects were due. She was known as the smart one in class, so naturally everyone wanted her on their team to get the good grades. So it was no surprise when she graduated all honours, even became the top of her class. The young girl got scholarships for 4 out of the 5 colleges she applied for, and she started studying forensics and lab.
It was during her early college years when Will came back. Being a doctor, he seen the signs and approached y/n, suggesting she went to get checked out for anxiety. It was in the hospital that y/n had her first panic attack. She was waiting in the waiting room, fiddling with her hands when Dr Charles called out her names. Not being good at talking to people., she often went hours without talking to her brothers, her anxiety hit the roof, and her chest collapsed in on itself. Dr Charles had seen the young girls reaction and called for her brother, before telling him that his sister had anxiety. She winded up in hysterics, and her brother and Charles struggled to help her, before Will started counting their breathing, and the girl started to calm down. Figuring out that counting helped the Halstead girl was a relieve for her brothers. She was given medication to help her, but the odd flare up did happen.
Y/n’s job as a crime scene analyser was a stressful job, but Jay seen his sister become more lively. Her old shy self-became a more energetic young woman, and even though Jay knew that a lot of that was due to the medication Dr. Charles put her on, he could never stop the smile when he seen her passion grow for the work she did. Majority of the crime scenes were never nice to see, but y/n always came with a smile, and left with the attitude to work. Gone were the days Jay would see her sister come to the crime scene with a slouched appearance, staying away from her coworkers and detectives. She begun talking and explaining things to Hank, leaving even Hank impressed with the new y/n.
She’d even spend nights out in Molly’s with Will & Jay after tough cases. Which was where she was when things came down on her. An arson case had just been solved, and y/n had been head of the forensics team for it. It wasn’t often that y/n took the top for cases, due to her anxiety she’d often turn down opportunities like that, but with her anxiety under control she decided to take a chance. Yet the added pressure of meetings with her team and taking control of what went on, y/n couldn’t help the feeling that started to build in her chest.
The Halstead siblings sat in their usual booth at the bar, Jay & Will joking with Severide after coming out of another big case. Many victims had been lost within the fires, and multiple casualties from the fires. Med & 51 had been run off their feet the past few days saving all they could and trying to prevent the fires from spreading, while Pd had been trying to figure out who the person was, and why they were doing it. Multiple charcoaled victims were brought to y/n to analyse, and many scenes were left with little to go by. The big hit was when the arsonist got sloppy, and 51 had gotten to the scene on time to stop the fire, leading to forensics to find his DNA on the letterbox of the front door.
The first sign of y/n’s anxiety would be her being quiet. Having not seen their sister having a panic attack in a while, they never noticed how she stayed away from the conversation, offering a weak smile that they put down to tiredness. The second was when y/n began to pick at the bottles sticker and fidgeting with the bottle. Severide glanced at the younger Halstead as the bottle was heard moving from one hand to the other. The tired sign became evident as y/n cleared her throat and tucked her hair behind her ear before moving in her seat, pushing at Jay slightly to get out.
The fourth sign was the one the Halstead brothers caught onto. Y/n staggered off the booth, hand on her chest as she moved to hold into a stool for balance. Y/n wasn’t one for much drink, so her brothers knew straight away that something was wrong. Glancing at his brother, Will excused himself for Severide to get up before walking towards his sister. Those around them watched as the Halstead sister’s breath became evidently sharp as she made her way to the bathroom. Not caring about it being the women’s bathroom, Will entered after her just as she locked the door to the stall she entered.
“You good?” Jay asked, seeing the slight distress on y/n’s face.
“Bathroom.” Y/n muttered to him ,rushing to get out of the booth and head to the bathroom.
Y/n held her chest as she rushed to close the toilet seat before sitting on it, leaning forwards. Tears streamed down her face as she gasped for breath, and she ignored the knock that came from the door.
Jay had walked to the bar and asked for Stella to help him get into the women’s bathroom. Wanting to be a little sensitive to the fact that it was the women’s bathroom, he got Stella to open the door for him before he went in to his brothers side. Will glanced at his brother with sad eyes, and Jay nodded in understanding.
“Y/n open up please.” Will’s soft vice was heard.
All Will could hear was y/n’s staggered breathing.
“Y/n, let me help.”
“Y/n, I’m going to kick the door in alright.” Jay spoke into the door towards y/n, knowing their sister would probably be in a ball of herself.
Lifting his foot, Jay held onto the sides of the stall as he turned to kick the door, muttering an apology to Stella as he done so. With the door opened, the Halstead’s hearts clenched at the sight of their sister with her knees to her chest, head ducked down. Deciding to move towards their sister, Will gently placed a hand on y/n’s chin, and she flinched at the contact. He forced her to remove her hands from her face and held them in his. She glanced at him with the hood of her eyes, and he smiled reassuringly as he brought her hand to his chest.
Jay watched as Will coached their sister to breath in time with him, and rolled a hand through his hair as she began to breath with their brother. Her breathing turned to hiccups as she started to breath slowly, and Will smiled at her as he placed a hand on her cheek gently.
“We’ll take this slowly Alright?” Will offered, and y/n nodded slightly.
“One.” Ill started, breathing in dramatically, “two.” He repelled his breath, watching y/n try to do the same. “Three.” In “four” out.
Y/n smiled and looked down, wiping her hands before dabbing at her face.
“There you go, that’s it.” Will smiled, talking to her as if she was a child as he wiped a stray tear that fell.
“I’m sorry.” Y/n whispered, looking down.
“It’s okay.” Will reassured her.
“You haven’t had one of them for awhile.” Jay observed, causing his sister to look at him.
“What brought it on?” Will asked, as he moved out of the cubicle so y/n could move to the sink.
“I think taking the lead on the analyses team was a big step, I got a bit freaked out I guess.” Y/n shrugged, cupping water in her hand before splashing her face.
“You were great. But don’t feel you have to continue it now that you’ve done it. What you done was a big case, maybe do a few small ones instead.” Jay stated, kissing the back of her head as he placed his hands on her head and looked at her through the mirror.
“We’re proud of you y/n, you did good. Take it easy on yourself. You took a big step this time, it’ll always be up and down, but your doing amazing regardless.” Will stated, leaning against the sink beside her as he spoke to her.
When y/n left the bathroom she seen Jay talking to a less than impressed Hermann and Will laughing beside him. Seeing the look on her older brothers face, she could tell Hermann was giving out to him about the bathroom door, but it quickly stopped when Stella hit Hermann on the back of the head.
“Take your time and come out when your ready. We can head home and have an early night if you’d like.” Jay stated, running his hands through her hair to get rid of the knots.
“Maybe another drink first.” Y/n smiled weakly, and Jay hugged her from behind.
“Whatever you want.” He smiled at her, kissing her cheek before leaving the bathroom, Will following in toll.
Y/n could only smile at Jay as he turned to face her, and he winked back, letting her take a beer from him before they sat down at their booth, talking with Severide about the time fire department was called to save a cat.
“He was worried about his sister, let him be.” Stella spoke to the older man.
“I’m just saying, you know, there are better ways to getting in than kicking the door in.” Hermann defended himself.
“Sure Hermann, I’ll take it easy next time my sister locks her self in for a panic attack.” Jay stated, rolling his eyes as Stella gave him the three beers.
Info: Jay can't knock the feelings he has for y/n

Jay’s left leg bounced repeatedly as Erin drove down the road, following behind Adam and Kim. Erin had tried to make conversation with him but all he could think about was y/n and how she was. Hearing what the Montez brothers had planned for her made Jay sick. Voight had Mouse call the guys to see if they could find catch a meeting with them, acting as if they were interested in a girl, and Kevin was going to head in undercover. Jay had wanted to do it but Voight convinced him not to, saying they would probably remember him from his first attempt at catching them.
“Jay stop worrying, I’m, sure y/n is fine.” Erin spoke out to the quiet surroundings.
“She can’t blow her cover, and y/ won’t. So she will allow them to whatever they want to do, while she remains weak.” Jay stated, throwing his hand out in exasperation.
“Let me rephrase, you shouldn’t be worrying this much over her. You didn’t worry this much about Mouse when he was taken hostage.” Erin stated, glancing at Jay to see his reaction.
“Y/n’s different, she..” Jay took a deep breath to stop himself, “me and her have a history okay. I care about her, a lot more than..”
“Than me.” Erin interrupted him, causing Jay to turn to her quickly.
“More than Mouse.” Jay clarified, “Is this why you’re so cold towards y/n. Because you think I care about her more than you?” Jay asked, and Erin remained quiet for a moment.
“We’re here.” Erin announced as they turned the corner to a small café, where Kevin was sitting with two men.
“So why’d you contact us, how’d you find out about us.” Dareen asked the man sat in front of him and his brother.
“Well I mentioned to one of my buddies about my parents nagging me about finding a girl and settling down, you know how parents are wanting some grandkids and such. Told them I’d do anything to have a girl to shut them up. And a guy, Declan was his name I think, overheard and mentioned that he may be able to help. Sent me to you guys. Said it would cost a dime but you guys make it worth it.”
Kyle looked at Dareen before leaning in.
“What kind of girl you into?”
“y/c/h hair, y/c/e eyes, broad and sim, not too energetic, need a girl who can be kept tame, knows who’s in charge.” Kevin stated, describing y/n to them.
“Yeah we got a girl like that, when you want her?”
“Can I see her first?”
“No, no, we don’t do that. You take your chances, decide now or get lost.” Kyle stated, and Dareen lifted his jumper to reveal a gun.
“No no, that’s cool, that’s cool.” Kevin stated, eyeing the gun.
“Great, meet us at the random road in an hour, we’ll meet you there with the girl.” Kyle smirked.
“You bring the money, we bring you the girl.” Dareen announced.
“How much you want?” Kevin asked, eyebrow rising a bit.
“We’ll send you the dets.” Kyle spoke as he got up, walking back to his car.
“We’re moving.” Jay spoke into the radio.
“You know the drill.” Hank stated.
----------
y/n sighed as the tiredness began to hit her. She had no idea what time it was, but going by the small window in the top corner of the wall, it was starting to turn to night. She had tried discretely talking to Intelligence through the small mike, but all she got back was static, meaning the connection was lost on their end. She was used to not having interactions with her teams, but the uneasy feeling never went away.
Kyle had come in a while ago, stating that one girl might get lucky. But y/n had no clue what that meant. All she knew was that someone would be taken away today, and it entailed a cost. The boys weren’t enterally mean, they had fed them some food before they left, but they were yet to hear the sound of a car returning.
“What happens to the girl taken?” Y/n asked the only girl who seemed to talk.
“No clue. We just see them taken and they don’t return. A new girl takes their place.”
“Oh.” Y/n nodded, looking back at the window as a car was heard pulling in on gravel.
The girls crowded together and tried to cover their eyes from the light as it strayed from the opening door. Each girl flinched as the light harshly came through the door and y/n couldn't help but stay to the back of the crowd. She squinted her eyes as two figures came into view, refusing to look away as they walked towards her. Kyle had a smirk on his face as he walked towards her.
“It’s your lucky day new girl.” Kyle smirked at y/n, grabbing her arm.
“Hey what?” Y/n shouted, surprised at the pain she felt.
“Don’t fight, just come with us nice and calm than no one needs to get hurt.”
“No stop, leave me alone.” Y/n cried out, pulling back from him as they went up the stairs.
“Shut it girl or else.” Dareen shouted out at y/n as he took y/n from Kyle as he locked the door again.
Dareen narrowed his eyes at her and pushed her down onto the ground. Y/n gasped at the ain she felt on her shoulder upon the impact. She was still recovering from injuries so banging it against the wooden floor wasn’t ideal. She narrowed her eyes at the two men before Kyle crouched down to her. Watching his movement, she never seen the fist that came to her stomach on the opposite side.
“Now, that’s just a warning. We don’t want to hurt you too much.” Kyle warned her before grabbing her wrist and forcing her up.
Y/n nodded at the two men and decided to walk with them, trying to avoid eye contact of the two as they walked out the front door. Y/n blinked at the change of light as the sun set in front of them. Kyle threw her towards their car, opening the door before pushing her into it. She frowned in confusion as the car started and they drove down the driveway before coming to a stop. Y/n looked around before she was harshly tugged out of her seat.
Y/n looked around her before seeing a car pulling up behind them. She smirked to herself asshe seen Kevin jump out of the car.
-----------
Jay sighed in frustration as Erin parked far into the woods, out of sight as Kevin drove past them towards the meeting point. All he wanted was to open the door and run towards where y/n was and hold her in his arms. Erin sighed and rolled her eyes beside him, waiting to hear the word.
“Hey man, you got the girl.” Kevin spoke as he greeted Kyle.
“You got the money.” Kyle shouted back at him.
“Got it right here.” Rattling was heard as Kevin took out the envelope.
“Bring her out.”
Jay gripped the car door as he prepared to jump out and run towards the scene. Erin eyes him and glared slightly before preparing her gun. It wasn’t long before Kevin spoke the line and they rushed out of the car. Jay couldn’t help the thumping of his heart as they moved behind trees, and he glanced around to see y/n being gripped by one of the lads. Jay glared at the man, wanting nothing more than to throw his arms off her.
Time moved fast, and before y/n knew it she was pulled towards Dareen, and a gun was placed towards her head. Words were shouted as Intellagence surrounded Kyle and Dareen, and y/n’s eyes met Jay’s who nodded at her.
“Back off or she gets it.” Kyle shouted out.
“Let her go.” Hank shouted, aiming the gun at them.
“How about no.” Kyle fake thought before aiming and shooting his gun towards y/n leg.
Y/n cried out as the bullet embedded itself into her thigh. She began to fall as another bullet hit her arm, and she hissed as a foot was felt against her stomach, digging into her abdomen. Gunshots were heard before shouting followed, and y/n looked to the side to see Kyle and Dareen on the ground, Adam and Kevin on top of the mas they were handcuffed. She looked in front of her again as a hand was felt on her shoulder.
“Y/n, stay with me.” Jay shouted at her, placing pressure on her arm.
“My leg.” Y/n slurred lightly as her vision blurred.
“I need an ambo.” Jay called out behind him before looking back at y/n “hey, stay with me okay. Your going to be okay.” Jay pleaded with her.
“It’s ok.” Y/n slurred before her eyes shut on her.
---------
Jay spent the next few days at y/n’s side as she lay in her hospital bed, asleep. Will had told him that she was okay, but the bullet in her thigh had hit a vital artery, which caused blood loss. Jay hadn’t slept since the case, and had only been home once, which lead to an argument between Jay and Erin.
“Jay she’s not your girlfriend, stop worrying so much. She’ll be awake soon, you don’t need to stay with her 24 hrs.” Erin shouted at Jay as he packed an over bag.
“Erin I’m not leaving her side till I know she’s okay.” Jay responded, not stopping his movement.
“You didn’t react like this when I got hurt.”
“That’s because you needed stitches, she’s unconscious Erin, different scenario.” Jay shouted at her.
“You care about her more than me.”
“Erin you have been nothing but harsh to y/n from the moment you met her. You need to understand that y/n is someone I care about deeply, we’ve been through literal hell together.” Jay explained, sighing in slight frustration.
“Than maybe you should be with her.” Erin stated.
“Maybe I should.” Jay shouted quicker than he had to think of what he said.
“What?” Erin asked, voice quietening down.
“I think that maybe we shouldn’t be together anymore.” Jay spoke, calming down first.
“Your breaking up with me?” Erin asked, shocked.
“I’ll get Mouse to collect my stuff.” Jay spoke, sighing as he zipped up his bag and left the apartment.
Jay’s thoughts were disrupted as y/n moved slightly. Jay watched closely as her eyes began to flutter, and he leaned closer to her as she looked around. Her eyes stopped as they met Jays.
“Hey you.” Jay smiled, moving to sit beside her on the bed.
Y/n smiled in response.
Wh.." Y/n stopped talking, the dryness in her throat preventing her from saying much.
"Here." Jay offered her some water, bringing it to her lips and bringing her head up so she wouldn't choke.
"How long have I been out for?" Y/n asked once her throat wasn't scratching at her.
"A week. The bullet hit an archery but, Will managed to stop the bleeding and remove the bullet." Jay explained.
"The girls.."
"All found safe, reunited with their families. Kevin and Adam arrested the guys shortly after they shot you." jay explained, taking y/n's hand in his.
"I'm glad." Y/n smiled softly, leaning back into her pillow.
"I'm glad your okay. I don't know what I would of done if things had went south." Jay confessed, placing a hand on her cheek.
"I always knew you would find me, you always do." Y/n smiled.
Jay chuckled lightly before leaning forward, kissing y/n's head before moving to call a doctor.
---------------
A few weeks later y/n had since been discharged and was currently on medical advice not to do anything too strenuous. She spent most of her time at Intelligence, sitting with Mouse as he worked the computer. Kyle and Dareen had been arrested and the girls had been found, each safe and returned to their families.
Jay sat at his desk staring at y/n as she laughed at something Kevin said, his head in his hand. Thinking to himself, he got up and decided to walk over the them. Not thinking much he grabbed y/n before her good arm and turning her to him. Jay ignored the stares that turned to them as she smiled at him.
“Hey Jay, you ok?” Y/n asked, concerned by his sudden movements.
“Y/n I have never been so afraid of loosing you. Which is why I ask,” Jay stopped as he moved down to one knee.
“Jay..” Y/n strarted, not sure what to say.
“What the “ Erin started, not sure how to react.
“Jay I can’t marry you.” Y/n stated, and Jay stood up with a frown, “But I would accept to being your girlfriend.” She stated boldly.
“Really?” Jay asked, a smile starting to form.
“Really.” Y/n nodded, and Jay smirked in response.
Erin crossed her arms at the interaction between the two while Adam and Kevin whistled. Mouse just smiled at his two friends, knowing nothing could have been better than them too together.

Y/n blinked as she came round from the hit on the head. She blinked a few times as she rubbed her head before sitting up and opening her eyes. She looked out the window to see if she could see anything, but they were long out of the city, and were now on back roads. Instead, she turned her vision in front to see two figures sitting in front of the car, talking.
“They’re getting onto us.” One of the spoke, and the guy driving sighed. “We need to figure something out Dareen, get them off our trace.” The guy driving spoke, and y/n recognized the voice of the guy who took her. “And how do you suppose we do that, we have five missing girls, there not going to just forget about them.” The guy, now known as Dareem, stated harshly at his friend. “I don’t know okay.” The guy snapped back “I just need to think”
“What are you going to do with me?” Y/n decided to make herself known, and Dareen glanced back at her. “Well look who’s awake.” He mocked her, and y/n rolled her eyes at him. “We won’t be doing anything to you, yet.” The driver stated, eyeing her in the mirror. “Can I know your names?” Y/n asked, now putting up an act of fear. “The least you know the better.” Dareen stated, and y/n sighed. “Can you tell me where you’re going? I don’t see any lights, so we must be outside the city.” Y/n stated, and Dareen looked back at her, narrowing his eyes. “It doesn’t matter where we’re going.” The driver snapped at her, and she shrunk back in her seat. “I just want to know where I am so I can tell my parents not to worry about me. They’re expecting me home at 11 tonight.” “Well guess you missed your time.” The guy spoke back at her teasingly, and y/n forced tears to come up. “Please, just tell me something. I want to go home.” Y/n chocked, and the driver looked back at her, eyes softening slightly. “You want to go home?” He asked, pretending to care, “Well too bad, your with us now.” “We’ll take care of you, for now.” Dareen winked at her, and y/n frowned at the thoughts spiralling in her head.
-------------------------------------
Jay took two steps at a time as he and Erin returned to intelligence from Med. Will had told him to prevent straining his arm till the stitches came out, but Jay just waved him off. He didn’t care about him, all he cared about was y/n.
“Found anything yet?” Jay asked, looking at Mouse desk where Adam and Keving were currently at. “They’ve taken her outside the city and one of them is called Dareen.” Adam stated, and Jay’s face hardened. “Do we know what they want with her?” Erin asked. “They just said they’d look after her.” Mouse spoke, and Kevin hit his arm as he seen Jay’s hand ball into a fist. “Don’t look too much into it, I’m sure y/n can look after herself.” Erin stated, putting a hand on Jay’s shoulder, frowning as he shook it off.
“Quiet, they’re talking again.” Mouse shouted at everyone, causing silence to come throughout the room.
------------------------------------
Y/n looked around at the place as the car came to a stop. They clearly didn’t care about her seeing where she was as they made no effort to prevent her vision as Dareen took her out of the car, keeping a grip on her arm. She looked around as they walked towards a house.
“Where are we” She asked, and the unknown guys head whipped around to look at her. “ Enough of the questions, we’ll tell you what we want you to know alright.” He snapped at her, and y/n cowered back from him.
She refused to make any more noise, instead allowing Dareen to push her towards a cottage, that seemed to be well taken care of. The light yellow paint on the walls was a stark contrast to what happened behind its walls. And what happened behind these walls were still unknown to y/n, but clearly it wasn’t going to be long till she found out.
The unknown man opened the door and held it open as Dareen and y/n walked inside. She looked around to see a kitchen and living room before a hall was seen with stairs. Dareen pushed y/n towards the hall before proceeding to take out a kay from his pocket. He banged on the door before unlocking it, swinging the door open.
Y/n looked inside to see 5 young women placing hands up to their faces, trying to block the light that strayed into room with the open door. Y/n glanced at Dareen before he pushed her into the room. She toppled over the steps only for one of the girls to catch her, preventing herself from falling.
“Make your new friend feel welcome girls.” Dareen called out before slamming the door and locking it.
Y/n looked around as her eyes grew used to the low light present in the room she was now held captured in. The girls around her looked at her before turning away, some lying down on dodgy mattresses while others leaned against the walls.
“Hi.” She spoke softly, acting unsure of herself. “Hey.” A timid girl replied, looking around at her fellow hostages, “Don’t worry, they don’t talk very much. Some of us have been here for a long time and just lost the will to communicate.” She explained, nodding towards the girls who ignored her. “Do you know where we are?” Y/n asked the girl who spoke to her, walking to sit beside the girl. “I think it’s Dareen or Kyles house, we’re not really sure. We get given little information around here.” The girl shrugged, looking down at her lap. “Dareen & Kyle, they’re the ones who are holding us here?” Y/n asked, trying to gather information. “Yeah. They seem pretty open about what we hear so I don’t think they plan to have us getting out of here, at least not alive anyway.” The girl spoke, looking y/n in the eye as she said the facts.” “You say they’re pretty open, do you know much about them?” Y/n asked. “They’re two guys who take girls and sell them on for guys to marry. They travel around to avoid getting caught.” “They’re smart I’ll give them that.” Y/n muttered, giving credit to the guys for their smartness. “Would I of heard of them?” “Probably not. They go by Montez brothers.”
------------
“Montez brothers, last related to a case of 5 missing girls in South Carolina. One of the girls were found beaten up by a domestic situation where she reported them as kidnapping her. They fled and haven’t been found since.” Mouse stated, looking up from his computer to Voight. “Where are they residing now.” Voight asked. “r/a.” Mouse stated. “Let’s roll.”
Jay didn’t need to be told twice as he made a run towards his jeep, Erin following in toll.

Two weeks had passed since y/n had returned from the army. Jay and her had become close, spending many evenings hanging out, with Mouse joining them sometimes. Erin still felt bitter about y/n and her bitterness had only grown with how much time her boyfriend was spending with the returned soldier. It didn't help that everyone in intelligence had grown to like her, leading to her often hanging out in the district. It wasn't unusual for y/n to turn up with lunch for the team, but Erin refused to like the girl. And y/n didn't seem that bothered by Erin's noticeable attitude towards her, instead opting to be the bigger person, opting to treat the woman her friend loved as a friend. The two didn't seem to be making any progress of becoming friends, but y/n accepted that, choosing to get along with Erin for the sake of Jay, and she hoped Erin felt the same way.
----------------------------------
Jay leaned against his desk as he talked to Erin, awaiting for the new case Voight was about to announce to them. There was word about kidnappings of women, where they were never found after they were taken. Six women were currently taken, and Voight was about to announce the plan of action. The team was blind as opposed to what it was, but they knew whatever it was they had to act fast, before things got out of hand.
The room went silent as Voight walked out of his office towards the middle of the room with pictures in his hands. Attaching them onto the board in front of him, he turned to face his team, and began to explain what was happening.
"Alright, here are the six women who have been taken in the past two weeks, each of them were seen in the local night club and that was their last sighting, meaning that the kidnapper is likely to be targeting that area. The victims were last seen getting into a taxi but they aren't traceable. Each plate comes up as legit taxi drivers, and when asked they say they weren't working the night the women were taken nd that they didn't even know there car was taken as it's in the same place as they had left it." Voight explained. "This guy is smart. He either managed to get the keys of these cars, take them and than return them when he's finished so as not to be caught quicker, or the cars are left unlocked and he wires it to turn on before leaving it as it was." Erin commented. "Well it worked, no one would know what happened apart from families becoming worried for their daughters." Kevin stated. "As you can see each girl here is in their 20's, has short h/c hair and e/c eyes meaning he has a type. So we need to catch him out before the next kidnapping." Voight stating, looking around as he finished explaining. "He seems to pick busy hours, when there are crowds around, hoping not to attract attention on him. College is out which means events are rolling in." Burgess stated. "When's the next event?" Jay asked. "Tonight there is karaoke night. He's bound to be there." Mouse spoke up, looking up from his computer. "Than we go there tonight. Hope to catch this son of a bastard." Voight spoke before The buzzer buzzed and the gate was heard opening.
Everyone's attention turned to the stairs as footsteps were heard, and each smiled slightly when they seen the woman walking up them. Y/n smiled softly as she held up a takeaway bag, having decided to bring Chinese for intelligence when Voight had asked her to come. She knew briefly of the case and knew that it would likely be a late one, so decided to bring some dinner for them when Voight had contacted her.
"Hey Y/n, what you doing here?" Adam asked, stretching over his desk so he could see her better. "Voight called, decided to bring dinner for everyone, sounds like a late night." Y/n replied, allowing Kevin to take the bags from her before moving to sit on Jay's chair, the owner of said chair craning around to smile at her in greeting.
Erin watched the two, unimpressed. She narrowed her eyes as Jay moved away from her side and behind his desk to hug y/n, y/n happily standing up to accept the hug. Wanting to drag her boyfriends attention away from the soldier, she started questioning Hank on their plans.
"So how are we going to catch him in the act? Neither me or Kim fit the description of the girls he's targeting." Erin asked, causing y/n to glance at Voight. "But y/n does." Voight pointed at said girl, causing everyone's attention to turn to her. "You can't be serious." Jay spoke out quickly, angered by the thought of his friend becoming a target. "Y/n fits what our guy is going for, she looks like a college student..." "Not sure how I feel about that comment." y/n spoke softly causing Kevin and Mouse to hid a grin. "She's a perfect match." Voight finished, gesturing to y/n. "I don't agree with this." Jay commented. "Jay stop, I've done more dangerous things than this." Y/n spoke firmly, "Besides I've already agreed." "You what?" Jay eyed her in frustration. "Jay, stop, she'll be fine. She's done more dangerous things than this." Erin stated, frowning at Jay for the way he was acting.
Jay only watched as y/n moved to Voight, allowing him to explain more in depth of what she was to do. He watched as she nodded along with his boss before they walked to Mouse where Hank told him to get y/n wired up.
"Jay, what you so worried about, she's fought worse." Adam spoke as he and Kim walked up to Jay and Erin. "She's on leave with an injury, and she's my friend, of course I'm worried." Jay explained as if it was the most obvious thing. "We'll be outside ready to interfere as needed. Once he goes for you let him take you, we'll be ready and waiting outside." Hank finished saying to y/n as Mouse helped wire her up. "How do we know if this is going to work?" Jay asked aloud. "We don't, but we have to try." Y/n stated, her brain going into autopilot.
---------------------------
Like previous missions and tasks, y/n was nervous, but she knew that the reason or doing this was to help save other girls and to prevent it from happening again. Her mind was on neutral, and she eyes a gentleman across the bar from her as she swirled her drink. He had been watching her all night, and y/n was sure that this man was the one Intelligence was looking for. Catching his eye, y/n smiled slyly before turning to talk to the barman in front of her.
“Could I get another please?” She asked, before downing the last of her drink. “I’ll get this.” The guy from across the bar suddenly appeared beside her. “That’s very kind of you.” Y/n smiled, batting her eyelashes a little. “It’s the least I can do for a pretty girl like yourself.” The guy spoke, causing y/n to look down as she blushed.
Outside in a van, Jay could only scowl as he heard the conversation between y/n and the guy. Erin sat beside him, and rolled her eyes at the look on her boyfriends face. He had done nothing but watch y/n before she went in, fussing over her and asking her repeatedly to change her mind. Halstead was worried about the girl, and that didn’t sit right with Erin.
“What do you say we head out of here, maybe someplace quiet.” The guy was heard over the ear piece, and the team sat up straight. “Y/n, go with him, but act surprised.” Voight coached the girl over the speaker, and Jay glared at his boss. “We just met, and you want me to leave with you.” Y/n feigned shock, turning her vision away from the guy in front of her. “Come on, you can trust me.” The guy laughed lightly, trying to encourage her. “I just don’t know if I should.” Y/n said unsure, trying to egg the guy on as he laughed before moving closer to her. “I have a gun and I’m not afraid to use it.” The guy threatened, leaning towards y/n so only she could hear. Y/n gasped, showing fear. “Come with me willingly and I won’t hurt you. Struggle, and it will end badly for you.” The guy spoke. “Ok.” Y/n gulped, voice shaking.
“We got him.” Voight stated, smirking at the guys confession. “Than let’s go.” Jay spoke, not liking the idea of someone’s hands being on his friends. “Jay, wait.” Erin spoke. “We take this easy or it could all go wrong.” She stated. “Kevin & Burgess, take the left, Erin & Adam go right, Halstead, your with me.” Voight commanded to his team as they got ready to move out.
Y/n got off her stool and allowed the guy in front to take her arm as they exited the night club. Shivering under the cold air hitting her skin, y/n looked to the left as cars were heard skidding in the distance. The guys grip hardened more as he seen Intelligence step out of their cars.
“Shit cops.” He cursed. “Chicago PD, let her go.” Voight shouted. “Keep moving, don’t stop.” The guy commanded, pushing the barrel of his gun into y/n’s back.
Y/n tripped over her feet as the guy forced her to move. Her back arched as she felt the barrel. Knowing this could turn nasty, she choose to follow the guys commands. This was part of the plan but that didn’t mean the guy could turn.
Jay took off after y/n, not listening as Hank shouted at him to get in. He choose to keep running, and turned the corner he say y/n go, his mind only on y/n. He heard the cars rushing behind him, but his mouth tightened as she seen y/n being forced into a car.
“Chicago PD, stop a*****e.” Jay shouted, causing y/n to look back at him. “Help, help.” Y/n shouted, playing the act till she was pushed into the car, her head hitting the door, knocking her unconscious.
The guy fired at Jay, causing him to duck down, taking out his own gun to fire back. Another shot was heard from the passengers side of the car, diverting Jays attention as the guy got into the car. Hearing the car engine, Jay cursed and started shooting at the car, before dropping down as a bullet nicked his arm. He turned to look over his shoulder as he heard cars stopping behind him
“Jay, are you okay.” Erin shouted out, running to her boyfriend as the car in front of them drove off. “I’m fine.” Jay brushed Erin away from him, standing up to watch as the car turned a corner. “This was part of the plan.” Burgess nodded her head, trying to convince herself and Jay that all would be okay. “Yeah, yeah, sure.” Jay sighed, allowing Erin to look at his wound. “Let’s head back to intelligence, see what mouse has heard.” Voight spoke up. “Come on, let’s get you to med.” Erin stated, holding Jays arm as he got off the ground.
Jay just nodded, his mind on y/n.

It was long day for intelligence. They were working on a murder rape case where three women and two children were found dead with multiple stabbing wounds, the children haven been sliced in the neck. There was prove of forced sexual intendancies but they were no closer to finding the killer, only knowing that it was likely personally due to the victims being related.
"Alright any questions?" Hank asked, looking around after going through some new information before a phone goes off. "Sorry, sorry." Mouse spoke in a rush, grabbing his phone and looking at it before answering. "Everyone good?" Hank asked, bringing everyone's attention back to him causing everyone to nod, "Alright, back to work."
Jay made his way back to behind his desk and sat down, leaning towards the paperwork that contained information about the victims and how they were killed. Hearing movement, he glanced up only to see Mouse heading towards Erin in a rush, speaking to her abruptly before heading down the stairs, likely taking two at a time. Realizing the unusual behavior of his fellow veteran, Jay frowned and moved towards his girlfriends desk, leaning against it as he spoke.
"What was that about?" Jay asked her, looking in the direction Mouse left. "What was what about?" Erin asked, faking confusion. "Come on, where's mouse going?" Jay spoke, crossing his arm and looking at her. "I dunno, probably to get coffee or something." "What was he talking to you about?" "The case, he found something he thought was useful." "That quick?" "Jay, you know him, he's quick on things like this, just go back to work." She responded with a sigh before leaving her desk and heading to Hanks office.
------------------------------------
Erin did know what was going on with Mouse and why he had rushed off so quick after getting the disruptive phone call. She just chose not to tell Jay because she knew previous relations may arise.
Mouse had gotten a call from Will, saying that he and Jay should go to Wills house as someone from their past work had turned up. Upon hearing it was y/n he rushed out, not bothering to wait for Jay and opting to tell his trustworthy girlfriend instead.
Y/n was someone who used to serve with Mouse and Jay up until they left the army. She had started working two years after Jay and Mouse started and was still an active soldier when Jay had left, Mouse following two years later. They still kept in occasional contact but they hadn't seen each other in person since they left the service.
A couple of days ago y/n had gotten into an accident with work, and as a result was ordered to take leave to recuperate and recover before returning should she choose to. Instead of telling Jay like Mouse had asked her to, she opted to keep the information from her boyfriend, afraid that he would leave her for his former colleague. She knew that Jay and y/n had some form of a relationship, whether it was official or not, based on the fact that sometimes Jay called her y/n instead of her actual name. The fear of Jay leaving her for someone was something that wasn't worth taking the risk in her opinion, so she was determined that Jay wouldn't find out, even if it meant lying to him.
-------------------------------------------
That evening, Jay kissed Erin goodbye from the district before heading towards Will's place for a couple of drinks and to watch the match. Seeing Jay at his door, Will smiled in greeting before letting into the apartment, grabbing two bottles of beer from his fridge before sitting on the couch beside him where the TV was on playing the match of the week.
"How was work?" Will asked, starting conversation. "It was good, tough case." Jay spoke with a shake of his head, taking a drink from his bottle. "Yeah it must of been when you didn't come by earlier with Mouse." Will replied, drinking his own drink. "Mouse came here?" Jay asked in confusion. "Yeah, earlier on I called him and he came, said he told Lindsey to tell you." "Why would he come here? Erin never told me anything." Jay asked, confused about why his girlfriend would lie to him. "You don't know?" Will asked, squinting his eyes in confusion. "Know what?" "Y/n's back, she had an accident with a landmine so they told her take some leave time. I called mouse and you but when you didn't answer Mouse said he would get Erin to tell you." Will explained, leaning back into his seat. "Erin didn't say anything. Y/n's back?" Jay asked, looking at Will with wide eyes. "Yeah, just this morning. She's on leave to recover, you really didn't know?" Will asked, realizing that his brother clearly wasn't told anything. "Nothing was said to me. Where is she staying?" Jay asked, grabbing his phone and keys from in front of him. "Ehh here, but she's looking for her own place so it's temporary. She's off in an appointment right now with the military doctor or something." "Right, tell her to call me, yeah. I need to sort something out." Jay stated, standing up and grabbing his coat. "I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation for her not saying anything." Will shouted after his brother as he heard the door open. "Yeah, I'm sure there is." Jay agreed to himself as he closed the door and left.
----------------------------------------------
"Why didn't you tell me?" Jay spoke, walking into his and Erin's shared apartment. "I thought you were going to Will's for the night?" Erin asked, by passing his question. "I was, but then he told me that he had been trying to contact me but when he didn't called Mouse to tell him that y/n was back. But you already knew that because Mouse told you to tell me." Jay explained and Erin's eyes widened slightly. "Look, Jay..." "Why didn't you tell me Erin, don't you think I would of liked to know that my friend and fellow soldier was home after an accident." Jay asked, placing his hands behind one of their kitchen tables. "Yes, I know, I should of told you but, I know the way you two were before you left the army. How close you two were. You called me her name and I was afraid that if you knew that she was back you would leave me for her." "You still should of told me." Jay spoke with a shake of his head. "I know Jay, and I'm sorry, I just don't want to lose you." Erin spoke in a small voice, knowing what she did was wrong. "Linds, your not going to lose me okay, you and I are strong and are relationship works on trust and truth. I need you to tell me these things no matter what you fear and trust that I will not try anything behind your back." Jay spoke, lowering his voice and moving closer to his girlfriend, placing a hand around her waist. "I'm sorry I lied." Erin smiled and Jay smiled back, leaning down to pull her into a kiss.
------------------------------------
The following day intelligence gathered to talk about the case. Jay and Mouse were leaning against a desk with their arms crossed, half listening and half not. Both men were thinking of their old friend, and only one of them were expecting to hear their phone go off. Jay glanced at Mouse as he heard the soft ping and Mouse smiled as Hank finished before heading down the stairs. Frowning in confusion, Jay watched Mouse head down as Erin came towards him.
"Hey, you ok? You seem distracted." Erin asked, putting a hand on Jays arm. "Yeah fine, just confused is all." "About what?" Erin asked, scrunching her eyebrows. "Y/n?" Jay asked, looking away from Erin causing her to frown and turn to where he was looking.
Mouse walked up the stairs with a young lady beside him. The ladies arm was in a cast and she seemed to have a limp. Her h/c hair was down, covering half her face and she refused to make eye contact with anyone, but yet Jay seemed to know who she was. Erin glanced at Jay as he moved towards the two while the rest of the group watched on, wondering who the lady was.
"Y/n?" Jay asked again, louder this time, causing the lady to look up. "Hey Jay." She smiled, happy to see her old army friend. "What are you doing here? I thought you were spending the day recuperating. I was going to come see you after shift." "Decided to get out of the house. You know I always hated sitting around."
"Care to introduce us." Hank asked, his rough voice breaking the reunion. "Guys this is y/n, she was in the army with myself and Mouse here." Jay spoke, placing a hand on Mouses shoulder as he smiled shyly. "Y/n this is intelligence, where I work now." "Nice to meet you all." Y/n smiled, though Jay couldn't help but notice the slight flinch she gave. "Voight, Hank Voight. Head of intelligence." Voight stated, offering a hand shake. "Nice to meet you." Y/n smiled, accepting the hand shake.
Y/n started greeting the rest of Jays colleagues, and all but one seemed to happily greet her. Erin appeared to give y/n a hard shoulder, and y/n knew that it was over her and Jays past. Mouse had told her that Erin refused to tell Jay that she had returned, and y/n couldn't help but feel slightly bitter towards the woman her friend was dating. She knew Jay had called Erin her name a few times, but y/n couldn't help but be embarrassed about it even if she wasn't to blame. But none the less she smiled at Erin, and Erin smiled in compliance before wrapping her arm around Jays, causing him to look down in confusion as they never really showed affection in work, before watching y/n as she smiled at Adam as they spoke.
Info: With a rocky relationship with one brother and living with another, y/n Halstead always thought her life would be safe and secure. But thoughts never turn out to be true when you become involved in your brothers case.
Masterlist
17 year old Y/n Halstead, was the younger and only sister of Will and Jay and lived with Jay. She never lived with her father after her mom died as he turned to alcohol and her brothers thought it would of been best if she lived with one of them. With Jay being in the army Will took on the responsibility, but he was never really present in her life. Most nights he would leave her with a babysitter and leave for parties and come home late with girls. When Jay returned from the army and heard about Wills antics, he applied for guardianship of his sister and took her back to Chicago, not speaking to Will for months after. Will and y/n's relationship had been rocky since than, but she still came to visit him during his lunch breaks so he could be in her life, though most of the time she spent her time talking to Maggie or April about nursing, wanting to take that career path herself.
Y/n had always been aware of Jays career choice as a detective after leaving the Army, but she was never told the real dangers of being a detective till she was 12. She hated the way her brother was so willing to throw himself into danger, but to her being a detective in Chicago was a hell lot better than being a part of the army. She had always felt guilty after Jay took her in, believing that it was her fault he left the army even though he constantly told her it wasn't her fault. Jay had always been open to his sister about his PTSD, and made sure she knew what to do in case of an emergency, but she never had to worry after her brother had began dating Hailey.
Hailey, and intelligence, watched out for her as if she was their sister. Y/n always had someone there for her if she needed any help, and they all made sure she never came too close to a case, but no one ever expected her to become involved in a case.

Y/n yawned as she walked into the hospital, turning around to wave at Jay and Hailey who pulled off after she got into the building. She sighed and headed into the emergency area, looking around awkwardly as she did so. Will smiled at her as she walked in and y/n nodded in acknowledgement before smiling at April who passed by, squeezing the younger girls shoulder as they crossed paths. Will rubbed his younger sisters back as she reached him and they both made their way towards the staff room, the older of the sibling duo opening the door. Y/n walked in first, opting to lie on the couch. Will chuckled slightly before heading towards his locker to grab his lunch, handing a smaller lunch box to y/n before sitting down on the table. Y/n smiles in thanks as she accepted the lunch box, opening it to see her favourite fruit and bar along with a cheese and coleslaw sandwich.
"So, what have you been doing with yourself." Will asked, knowing y/n had finished school and was now on summer break. "Nothing much. Was looking at colleges for next year. Need observation period in a hospital setting. It's not compulsory but would benefit my application to put on experience." Y/n stated, taking a bite from her sandwich. "Well I'm sure Maggie or April will let you watch them for a few days. Of course we'd have to go by Ms. Goodwin." Will smiled ,liking the idea of y/n being around more. "Do you reckon?" /n asked, smiling at the idea. "Yeah. I'll talk to them and Ms. Goodwin see what I can do." "Thanks Will." Y/ns smile widened, throwing her arms around Will in a hug, something the red haired rarely got from her. "Your welcome. And if you like you could stay with me when your in same days as me." Will smiled, accepting the hug. "Yeah Maybe." Y/n stated, smile fading slightly as she sat back down.
The two sat in silence and Will sighed, knowing y/n was still unsure of staying in his apartment. They had tried many times but it always ended in Jay being called to pick her back up. He knew y/n remembered how he often left her with someone else so he could go out most nights. He remembered Jay arriving with the guardianship forms, and him begging Jay not to take her out of his life. It took awhile for the brothers to be on speaking terms again, and the only contact Will had with his sister was pictures Jay sent.
When Will came back to Chicago there was mixed reactions. Jay still held a grudge against Will fro his antics back in New York, and y/n refused to be alone with him for weeks. It took awhile for Will to earn y/n's trust again, and he was still working on it. Will missed the relationship he used to have with his sister, and he craved for the relationship y/n had with Jay. So Will thought maybe working in the same building all day would help build that relationship back up.

Jay sat at the desk finishing up some paperwork from a case, but his attention was drawn to Voight as the one in charge walked out of his office into the center of the room. Everyone looked up, thinking it was a case, but that thought was quickly left when they could see the look of worry in their bosses eyes. Jay frowned in confusion as Voight looks straight at him, and he turns to look at Hailey before Voight cleared his throat.
"Alright everyone, got word from the commissioner, Jackson's out." The room went quiet as Voight kept his vision on Jay to see his reaction. "I thought he was in for life." Adam stated, confused on the news. "Good behavior." Voight shrugged, not liking the situation.
Jay and Jackson had a past. Jay had been the one to arrest Jackson after chasing him for months after the latter being wanted for molesting women and kidnapping. After nearly arresting the guy the first time, Jay had become a pawn in Jacksons game. Jackson had found out about Jays sister and decided to follow her around, and that was how Jay caught him, near y/n's school when she was just 8. Jay remembered feeling sick when Jackson spoke about his sister, and it took both Adam and Kevin to hold him back from punching the guy during interrogation, all the while the culprit having a smirk on his face.
When Jackson got convicted for 12 years, Jay was there watching for the outcome. And when he was been taken away the prisoner looked at his catcher and swore to him that when he got out he would get him back with someone special, one who Jay knew would most likely be y/n.
"Good behavior, he traumatized his victims, he stalked my sister." Jay spoke quickly, and Hailey moved to comfort her husband. "Jay calm down." Hailey said, seeing her husbands anger clear as day. "No, no, he told me the day he went down he would get me back. He deserves to rot in that cell." Jay spoke angrily, pointing in front of him in anger. "I'm sure he wouldn't remember that encounter." Kim stated, trying to diffuse the situation at hand. "Call y/n and put your mind at ease." Hailey stated, seeing Jays tense figure. "Yeah sure." Jay sighed before leaving to the locker room.
"No one tell Jay." Voight said, leaning his hands on a table in front of him. "Tell Jay what?" Kevin asked. "Commissioner told me Jacksons out, but he also told me that Jay could be on his radar. There has been word in the prison but until confirmed don't say anything." Voight stated, watching his team nod in agreement. "This isn't good." Hailey muttered before Jay came back into the room.

Y/n was currently leaving the hospital. Will watched from the door as his sister walked down to the bus stop that was close by. Will liked to watch and make sure y/n got on the bus safely before returning to his shift. The bus y/n got on stopped just outside Jays apartment building and then she only had to walk across the road and up the stairs. Y/n looked down at her hone as she heard it ring.
"Hey Jay, what's up." y/n smiled, answering her brothers call. "Hey, just checking in on you, seeing where you are, what your doing?" Jay smiled, happy to hear y/n's voice. " Just leaving the hospital now, waiting on the bus." Y/n replied, looking at her watch as she stopped at the bus stop. "Is Will with you?" "I'm more than capable to wait on a bus myself. But I'd say he, yes he is, watching me from the hospital doors." Y/n turned to look back at the hospital to see Will leaning against the wall talking to Ethan, his eyes falling towards y/n occasionally. "Is anyone around?" Jay asked, concerned that Jackson may be around. "No not really, I'm the only one waiting on the bus, which is coming right now. I'm gonna go, talk later." Y/n spoke, seeing the bus and standing up. "Text me when home okay." Jay asked. "I always do." Y/n smiled teasingly before hanging up.
Y/n stepped onto the bus and smiled at the bus driver as she paid the fare before moving to the back of the bus. Few people were riding the bus so there were many seats left, so y/n opted to sit on the second last seat, in front of a man who nods at her in acknowledgement. Sighing, y/n placed her headphones on before leaning on the window, looking outside. With her headphones on she doesn't hear anything, and she doesn't see the man behind her getting up when it comes near her stop. It wasn't until she moved to stand up only to be pushed down as the man sat beside her that she realized him.
"Excuse me." "Y/n Halstead." The man stated. "I'm sorry, can I get passed you please." y/n asked, fear present in her voice. "Stay there and don't make a scene. I told your brother I 'd get back at him and your the way to do it." The man spoke as he wrapped his arms around her tightly.
The unknown man looked at y/n and her blood ran cold, afraid of what was going to happen next.
