Eater of Anomalies!!
An old OC concept I had years ago but never got around to drawing until now!! She's an ambiguously-defined arthropod mimicking much of the morphology and behaviour of a mantis, but isn't even an insect; her raptorial forelimbs are in fact two pairs of partially fused limbs. She eats anomalous entities of some eldritch variety oh wow!!!
(She may or may not appear much later down the line in my webcomic, oh wow!!!! As a bugkin also wish I had her form so badly ahh!!)
This one of my favourite monster designs that I've seen in a while, omg <333333
Made of carcinogens and love
Cat and Dog meet a pair of strange winged beings, seemingly also fox-like in form and yet somehow familiar in a way that is vague and beyond description…
(Context for this one: the characters on the right, named Spii-Ba and Spii-Bu, are the original basal forms of Cat and Dog as characters; I first starting drawing them when I was 11, and as Cat and Dog are their modern forms, so to speak! They were from a cheesy Pokemon/Digimon knock-off comic I liked drawing back then. Anyway drawing this was cathartic and fun, ngl)
A new bio/reference sheet for my sona, Pepper! :3
A year ago today, I finished the first episode of my webcomic, titled God Animal.
It is a xenofiction-adjacent story about a pair of close fox friends, named Cat and Dog, attempting to survive the hostile world left behind after a cataclysm, from which a mysterious and destructive force is devouring all that remains. When it seems that all hope of survival is lost, the pair of foxes meet a strange deity-like being, who may hold the key to their survival…
You can read it here (do heed the content warnings before proceeding). Episode 2 has been in the works for a bit, a lot happened to myself and those close to me this year, so it will be done when it is done.
Regardless, I feel happy to have completed the first episode and commemorate the first anniversary of Episode 1. :3
Cat, she leapeth (with her friend Primitive Horse looking more annelid-like and less cephalochordate than usual?????)
"Sometimes, there's something living inside these strange boxes at night..."
Where else but the boundless expanse of what used to be home?
The Dendrite Beast is not supposed to be able to experience any form of innate awareness of anything but the matter moving around. Why are they standing still, then? Did the apocalypse lead them closer to a sense of self, only to be locked in stasis with vague fragments that still do not represent thought reverberating inside their shell? That's not for anyone else to know.
It's a false mutualism
(Uploading some older art here I guess, this one is from 2022!!)
The olm is an exclusively subterranean and underwater species, and as such it's difficult to make field observations. Individuals in captivity have been observed to live up to 68 years, and in the wild they may have a life expectancy of over 100 years. ©
