His vision is blurred; but it’s clear. He sees millions upon millions of galaxies at once, billions of planets and constellations staring back at him. He feels rageful, but tranquil—he doesn’t understand. He can’t understand.

 "Child,“ a voice booms, its tone full of omnipotent might. "You have unearthed something far above your comprehension. Something that belongs to me. Your ignorance may have cost you your own life. Your curiosity may have ceased your existence.”

  The rumbling voice stopped, and Benjamin’s brown eyes clenched shut—as he suddenly feels a surge of pure and raw power filter inside him entirely. He can’t even describe the sensation, as it nearly makes his senses go blind with such a primal surge. A strangled sound leaves him, morphing into a coarse shout.

  “But, my dear child, you have been blessed,” It growled. “Blessed with my knowledge, bestowed upon you.”

  Benjamin’s eyes shot open, and he finds himself standing within a huge, crimson red palm. The flesh was rich and deep with the color, calloused and clawed. He stares up into the many all-seeing eyes of the beast in wonder.
