First Meeting - Dark Link

For as long as he could remember, the darker doppelgänger had been fascinated with the other world he came to inhabit as of late. He didn't know what it was but the creatures that he came across seemed to pique his interest. Sure, his world contained the darker versions of these creatures but to see their lighter halves, it was a wonder to truly behold.

After many years, and quite a few reincarnations, he could finally see why his so-called lighter half loved to call this place home. Despite everything that was thrown at him from the countless forces of evil. Yet he hadn't found that one thing that made his time on here worthwhile, that was until one night he found something not only important but rare in his eyes.

Everywhere you looked the only colour you could see covering the foliage and meadows was a deep crimson. At a quick glance, the colour could have been mistaken for the change of the season - hot days into Coll days. The outlines of bodies and parts became more obvious the longer you looked on.

These types of attacks had become more apparent, and frequent, as of late. The reason as to why though, still alluded you and the others around Hyrule. There was no threat that you knew of, Link would have sprung into if there was. Stories of his battles were now spread throughout the land.

Taking in a shallow breath, you peeked from behind a tree, catching the back end of what appeared to be a Bokoblin and Moblin mixed group pass by. The rest of the breath in your lungs slipped past your lips in a soft sigh, eyes closing as you gripped the handle of your sword, ready to unsheathe it if the moment called for it. “That was close~".

No sooner had the words left your mouth, you felt the floor against your back, everything passing in a blur before your unsheathed your sword, placing it in front of you as something clattered against it. Letting out a grunt, you brought your leg up, using your foot to help push off the person above you.

At least you thought it was a person, they looked familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time. You didn’t have time to dwell on it, not at that moment at least, your life was more important than trying to figure out who was in front of you.

This seemed all too easy for the dark doppelgänger. Stood there, all alone, in the opening was a figure. Opportunities like this didn't come very often and the moment they did, it had to be snatched up quickly before another being of darkness took it away. He'd curse the very being who took this moment away from him. Unsheathing his sword, he chuckled darkly before rushing forward, quickly knocking the figure to the floor.

Something he thought would be incredibly easy turned out to be the complete opposite. Not that he minded, he loved it when his next victim fought against him. Put up such a fight that drove him crazy. It was ones like this that made his victory all the more satisfying.

Standing panting for breath, you glared at the figure in front of you. They weren't going down without a fight and you'd be damned if you were going to give in so easily, even if it meant dying while trying. Your body burned in pain as you held your side, warm fluid seeping through your fingers as your grip tightened on the hilt of your sword.

You couldn't shake the feeling that the figure seemed awfully familiar to you, yet you couldn't place your finger on it. The silver hair and crimson eyes were the only things you could make out, everything else was shrouded in darkness.

"(y/n)!”.

The sudden loudness of your name startled not only you, but the figure as well, an almost wicked grin appearing when it heard it. Something so simple as an attachment to a person sounded like music to them. The word stirred up a feeling unfamiliar to the shadow.

A low growl of annoyance passed your lips before you tutted. Quickly placing your sword back in its sheath, you took a hold of your friend's hand, and with a knowing glance between the two of you, broke into a run, not stopping until you both felt safe enough.

Crimson eyes watched your every move until you were nothing more than a distant blur against the horizon. The stories Dark remembered being told to him from a young age, of the creatures of light fighting back. It was extremely rare from what he could remember but when a creature of light put up a fight, they were to be cherished - used to continue the dark line if possible.

Dark had found his new plaything. He couldn’t wait to make you squirm under him, make you lose your mind as you cried out for him. A wicked grin tugged at his lips as he sheathed his sword, eyes narrowing with heavy steps forward. You wouldn't know you’d be chosen until it was too late. His little game of cat and mouse started at that second.

You could try, run as far as you could but he’d find you. Making a silent promise to track you down.
