“Charlotte–” This time she really did pull her girlfriend to a stop instead of letting her take lead. “That’s not fair and you know it.” Her words hurt, even if there was some truth to them. It continued to be a sore spot in their relationship, and one that Lara didn’t know how to overcome considering she wasn’t ready to come out to her family. “What do you want me to do?”
The raven-haired female pursed her lips, trying to decide whether to apologise and just sit on how she felt or whether she should just say everything she had been feeling. “Neither is me having to sneak around all the time. Honestly, if you’re not ready to be open with people...” She paused, unsure whether she should continue — “... well, maybe you shouldn’t be in a relationship yet.”
dxrlingdevils:
“Okay, I take it back. I’m not the one that’s being overdramatic, it’s you.” She teased back, feeling a little lighter at their playful banter. Chewing her lip thoughtfully, she considered his question and contemplated her answer as the different places she had dreamed of passed through her thoughts. “What about Scotland? I’ve always wanted to visit the Highlands.” Of course this was just a dream and she knew that she wouldn’t be packing up and leaving any time soon. “I thought I was finally beginning to learn from the best and really learn about the industry, you know? Instead I’m running around playing baby sitter and fetching coffee.”
A laugh fell from his lips. “It seems we’ve been spending too much time together, you’re rubbing off on me.” He replied with a wink. “Scotland sounds great. I love the accent and I’ve always wanted to find Nessie the Loch Ness Monster.” Jesse agreed, going along with her fantasy. The male sighed, feeling for his friend. “That’s normal, though. It sucks, but it is normal. These jerks just take advantage, anything to make life easier for them. They’ll see your persistence though, and it’ll pay off. I know it will. You’re great at what you do. They just need to see that.”
dxrlingdevils:
“Ohhh right because the two of us together with a bunch of cops sounds like a good idea?” Liam wanted to keep his job and the contract he had with the station and he knew that probably wouldn’t happen if he combined his best friend with alcohol. “Nope, I think we’re definitely talking about you now.” He sighed, reaching for a bottle of water and asprin so he could deal with this conversation. “So tell me, what’s the excuse this time?”
Becca pursed her lips. “Okay, fair, I’ll give you that. It seems you’re off the hook this time.” She replied, still narrowing her eyes at the male before breaking out in a grin. Rolling her eyes, she shook her head. “Excuse you, but my excuses are always good and valid. Just like this time, I had it all planned out to do — I was even on my way there, but then I found a stray dog and I had to help him.”
dxrlingdevils:
“A normal person who thinks students are easy to take advantage of. Which is exactly the way I wanted it remember? You should consider yourself lucky that I called to ask for help, isn’t that enough?” Faye responded with a sigh of exasperation as she pushed away from the counter and walked over to the fridge to grab them both a drink. “It’s not about the room, you know that. it’s about wanting a normal life. I asked my big brother for help not the other side of you.”
Brax resisted the urge to roll his eyes. He was tired of the same old argument. There was no convincing Faye once she’d set her mind on something. It was something he really respected, but in the same breath, it was something that caused him countless amounts of headaches. “I just don’t understand why you’d live like this when you don’t have to. You can still have a normal life, just one with a decent house.” He stated, looking at her for an answer. “Will you at least let me report him?” Brax asked, wanting to do something about the landlord. If she wouldn’t allow him to use violence, this was the next best thing. “And I’m helping. I’m just voicing how I feel while doing so.” He replied, reaching into his toolbox.
dxrlingdevils:
“No, no this isn’t right. They have no right to speak to you this way.” Lara couldn’t stand this, there was a part of her that knew if the roles were reversed she wouldn’t be receiving the same treatment considering the family she was from and her reputation. Yet it was the same behaviour that had her second guessing and had her terrified of what people’s opinions would be which is why she didn’t fight as she was pulled away.
Charlotte rolled her eyes as a sigh left her lips. “Really, Lara?” It was unfair to call the brunette out, but Charlotte was having a bad day and the last thing she wanted was for the other to act all righteous. It may have been easier to take her opinions and her running commentary on it all if she wasn’t wondering round town, denying what she was. She understood people had to do things in their own time and she’d never force someone to come out, but at the same time, she was losing patience with all this sneaking around. “You know, maybe they’d be more accepting if I wasn’t the only lesbian in the stupid town.”
dxrlingdevils:
“Oh hush, you know I didn’t mean it that way.” Peyton rolled her eyes as she threw one of the pillows at his head, a small smile tugging at her lips. “I’d like to think that you would be coming with me. Off on our next adventure?” Of course Peyton knew she wasn’t being completely realistic and wasn’t exactly being fair to him either by expecting him to drop his life. “Nothing I’m just being dramatic. We both know I’m not going anywhere. Not really.” She sighed, trying really hard to remember why she loved her job. “My boss is such a dick.”
Jesse caught the pillow just before it hit him. “So first you tell me you want to abandon me and now you’re using violence against me? Wow, I’m really feeling the love today, buddy.” He tutted before smirking at her. “Next adventure, huh? And where about would that be?” the male asked, curiosity getting the better of him. “But what’s making you dramatic? Like, what did your boss do?” Jesse asked, his tone becoming more concerned.
dxrlingdevils:
“Oh obviously. It wasn’t planned, a few of the lads from work dragged me out, otherwise you know I would have had you by myside causing mayhem and destruction.” Liam didn’t have it in him to put any more enthusiasm behind his words, if anything it came out as more of a groan. “Wait, you were supposed to have done the shopping yesterday?” His brows furrowed as he attempted to remember only to groan in pain as his head throbbed.
“I mean, that’s what you say but I mean you could have called me.” Becca replied, looking at him, still unimpressed. It didn’t actually bother her he had gone out without her, but it was fun to make him think so. “We’re not talking about what I did or what I didn’t do Liam, we are talking about me needing Fruit Loops, oh and those cute mini marshmallows that you put in my hot chocolate,” Becca stated before placing her bowl on the table and reaching over for the spare pillow that the male had been trying to find.
dxrlingdevils:
“If you can’t fix it, that’s fine. I don’t even know what I did to it, and I can always get the Landlord to get someone to fix it considering that’s partly his job.” Faye stated, arms on her hips as she tilted her head just slightly. “Look, you really don’t have to do that. It’s really not your problem.” She should have known that the place was too good to be true, especially with how quick the guy had been to get her to sign on the dotted line.
“Of course I can fix it. That’s not the point — the point is that it shouldn’t need fucking fixing. You’ve not even been here for three months Faye, what kind of dickhead releases an apartment for a kid that is full of fucking damp and dodgy wiring?” Brax ranted, shaking his head as pushed himself up off of the floor and away from the sparking plug socket. “Would you just swallow your pride and come stay with me? I told you there is more than enough room for you there.”
Closed Starter || @dxrlingdevils Charlotte didn’t freeze as the men shouted the slur at her from across the street. Just like she hadn’t frozen when she had seen the red graffiti written across the outside wall of the place she worked, outing her to practically the whole town. Unlike Lara, she was used to it, and so when the brunette stopped dead in the street shocked by his words, Charlotte just grabbed her wrist and pulled her along. “It’s fine, just ignore them.”
dxrlingdevils:
“Yes, I’m hungover. Yes, it was a long night. Yes, there were moments that got a little embarrassing. No, I don’t want to talk about it.” Liam groaned as he attempted to lift his now very heavy head off of his makeshift pillow. He wasn’t exactly best pleased with the intrusion and being woken up from his much needed nap.
Becca nodded along, listening to the male as she took a seat on the edge of the sofa arm with her bowl of cereal in hand. “I hear you dude, sounds like a crazy night. I won’t even ask why you didn’t think to invite your awesome roommate. Just a mere oversight, obviously.” She replied, sighing before lifting a spoon of Fruit Loops to her lips. “Given this small mistake, I’ve decided I won’t be doing the shopping this time round - and by this time round, I mean, today, as in we need groceries today - so, yeah, off you pop poppet. Oh, and don’t forget the Fruit Loops.” She stated with a bright grin.
dxrlingdevils:
“sometimes i think about just leaving this town forever.” Peyton groaned as she barged into her best friend and roommates room to collapse on her bed next to them. She’d had a crap day at work, more so than usual, as she spent the majority of it playing tea maid and dog’s body rather than her actual job. “Sometimes I wonder what’s really keeping me here.”
Jesse was half asleep when his friend barged into his room. Blinking repeatedly, he tried to keep up with what was going on, already feeling like he’d missed some vital information. “Hello to you too.” He spoke aloud, a yawn slipping from his mouth as he looked at her. “I see I finally managed to become invisible after years of trying.” The male replied as she questioned what was keeping her there. “Are you going to fill me in on what’s got you ready to pack up and leave?”
