aaa i had so much fun making this, i keep thinking about interactions between these two i can't stop drawing them together
i imagine they'd break out in arguments (mostly with Meanie and Sad's "no bullshit vs self-deprecation" dynamic) and that the other characters would need to interrupt them in order to get them back on track

unprofessional workplace behavior
as someone with autism, i never really reflected on how “odd” ena’s dialogue seemed while playing dbbq. it just… made sense. and if it didn’t, i simply accepted what ena said and moved on.
i see all these posts of “this is what ena meant when she said "miss could you please keep it down, the delivery worker is right here"”, but i just kind of got it when ena said it. taski is being loud and disturbing, and ena wants her to chill out because she’s just trying to do her job.
a bunch of the other oddities of the game were glossed over by me too. froggy levitating and glowing while getting a call? sure, that happens sometimes. everyone being surprised ena has a job? i’d be surprised too if i just saw the blue and yellow one and now this new one is inquiring about wages. leg blood vivarium? that’s their natural habitat, obviously.
anyways… just a ramble. maybe i should play dbbq a third time from a more literal standpoint?
if war soldier ena theory, then genie perchance resembles the glorified promises of war/the nationalist dream? because the genie offers to grant wishes and despite ena’s “sins” (crimes committed in war) she offers a wish to ena anyways, but per capitalism of course ena can’t get money/happiness/not even punishment for her crimes or transgressions because in the eyes of society she just did her job, and all she can do with the payment for it (the wish) is to further the way the society is headed (get rid of the smoke to complete “find boss” job)
