If I had a nickel for every time I've made a tmnt 2012 AU bc I had ideas for cool character designs but got emotionally invested in writing a story to go along with it I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice

That was a long time ago however, and a good number of those details had since faded from his memory like an old photograph. He's partially thankful for that, because it means he gets to enjoy the wonders of learning something all over again.

His eyes scan the next sentence, a faint twinge of familiarity in its words.

“...due to their abnormal tongue structure, ghouls are incapable of eating anything other than the human body, as whatever else they try to ingest will have a foul taste and make them physically sick to the point of vomiting.”

The air suddenly feels a lot heavier.

Donnie's body stiffens as the paragraph registers in his head, a cold sweat on his brow, but he pushes his rising anxiety down.

It's fine, he thinks. I'm just worrying myself over nothing.

This was nothing. The fact that he had just gone through something eerily similar was nothing short of a coincidence.

At least that's what he had told himself in hopes of calming his nerves. That idea progressively loses more and more legs to stand on the further he reads.
