Personally I think idw optimus's death is very beautiful yet at the same time I wonder if death was the only option where he could be free
He deserves a vacation
Somewhere else...where politics and world threatening disasters won't bother him
Where he could be just himself
Where he could climb and craft things like he used to do
I know he's one of the most flawed optimus but also one of the most tragic
If even his death and sacrifice couldn't change the mind of others
If everyone only saw strict perfection as time went by and break the pieces to sculp him into the holy figure they want
if they only see him as the warmonger forevermore
Then I want him to go somewhere else.
Let him crush things when he had failed alone and can only doubt himself
Let him rebuild things with the servos he no longer need to soak with energon
Let him drink to his spark's content and grieve with the stars
Let him cry out a bitter laugh and do stupid shit with no one to judge
It will take time, so give him space and time

I know the robot himself doesn’t like being holy or even worshipped..but he’s so good looking when he looks like a god
me when I look at mentally ill characters:
you don’t need a lover you need a friend
a support group or system and a therapist
and time with people who can wait for you and a healthy hobby
because you can’t make a fallen house stand up with just one pillar
maybe you can in some ways..but it won’t last long
I just want to read idw optimus healing without any romance for once
not him getting replaced by archivist or dockworker or anything
just fired up young angry at injustice and impulsive cop turned into smashed sad tired self- isolated prime
Another reason: I read the most of the other fics I want something new

Considering the fact Optimus told Ratchet privately about the matrix and how he feels..I think the trust between them is quite strong
Of course there's Optimus doing questionable things and Ratchet leaving to go into a spaceship cause he feels nothing is left for him on Cybertron
but Ratchet was one of the few who Optimus told about his worries freely and Ratchet caring about him in turn despite Optimus's mental state going through a lot of things as the series continued
I'll like to see them being reunited in the Allspark in the end and talking about the adventures each of them had
Maybe Ratchet will tell Optimus about Drift
He will be happy for him
Beacuse his old friend deserves love and happiness
(Likewise for Optimus but I think he's too tired or not in the good mental state to try love)(doesn't mean I don't appreciate the ships tho)
