I haven't watched the movie myself, but from a brief Wikipedia search and this meme template I've made my guess who lives and not are:

Quasar: manages to sence the difference in whom ever the thing is and takes it out

Leyc: doesn't look or sound sane enough for the thing to care and so survives

Zim: too cute to die

Bucket: Also too cute to die, also metal

Mi'var: Almost died, but girlbossed through it

Gurmenas: tries to kill the thing, fails and dies

Phoenix: tries to kill the thing, fails and dies

Gear: too busy trying to keep the peace between the others to get separated to die

Kelp: tried to fight the thing, died

Omen: too busy theorising to die

Dush: barricades himself in a corner and so survives

Anch: the thing is scared of him, don't mess with the medic

1/2. If I could pick a canon character I feel like Eeth Koth is a great fit for Quasar. Would also match with the times she Eeth Koth left the order and when Quasar was knighted. Koth has this weird thing about learning to handle pain (reason why Grevious failed at getting information out of him even under torture) and Quasar would probably benefit from the same skill.

I haven't made him an oc master since he isn't in the picture for too long (and Koth felt like a good match) but if I had to, I've always been picturing someone who kinda looks like Koth, so a mid tone Zabrak

3. Quasar unfortunately does not have a best friend, at least when he's older unless you count Bucket. BUT! During his jedi years he did have friends, probably on the best friend level. I do have some designs for them a mirlian and a togruta, but I've yet to redo them so to speak as Quasar's story changed a bit since I originally made them

4. >:))) oh you've hit a big plot point I've planned to make a comic about. Well, to not be overly spoilery and to keep it short: he lost it during the early days of the war when he was cooperating with some clone squad (not yet sure if it was a sub devision of Dead zone) before he became a general. We're talking about like a barely knighted 15-16 year old Quasar, just a legal adult in nautolan standards. Welp, my main plan is that he's hunting a stolen holocron down from the enemy's ship, and the enemy sets their ship to explode so you can imagine the ships integrity does not like it when parts of it get exploded off :)

5. HAH I'M DYING! But yes Gurmenas and Mi'var. I'm surprised I haven't drawn them more.

Anyway let's do the basic lore of them since there isn't a whole lot about them yet.

Gurmenas: let's be honest here, we like villains here and he is my very much indulged villain character and nothing else. This man does NOT know how to cook, social interactions NONE, yet people like him and I understand. Try to fix him, I dare you, he'll fight against you with teeth and nail, he knows he's fucked up and loves it. Oh yeah he's also an imperial, ain't that fun :) his hobbies include torture, first degree murderer and manipulation, I intend to not give him any redeeming qualities :)

Mi'var: my girl, what a goth (?) queen. For her I surprisingly have even less. I've been thinking that she could be related to Hera from her mother's side, and thus aristocratic, but still undecided on that. Well either way girly said no and became a rule breaker by joining or even starting a smugglers guild of her own, and we know she somehow dragged Quasar into it for a little while. Anyway her hobbies include: being quite literally better than you (knows a lot of things), fashion and probably caring for a handful of droids and or animals she's rescued

Well, I'm unsure I have useless facts, but maybe fun facts :D

Quasar: Could make a nuke if he wanted to and given the right equipment, that man has detication if he really wants to do something

Leyc: He likes to wrestle space alligators for fun and usually wins, surprisingly enough

Bucket: Probably has the highest kill count as he's blown up a few star destroyers in his days

Zim: for her I have a little less planned out for so far, but I shall give you the knowledge that Dead Zone Platoon see her mainly as a little sister figure :)

I've been struggling with these two idiots padawan braid designs since canon doesn't have much going on. So @furious-blueberry0 really saved me with their ideas for the braid!!

Even if I don't really draw Quasar as a padawan a hole lot nor for the matter of fact during the time he was a knight, these are good to have in the back pocket :)

I like to compare how much these two had managed to do during their padawan years.

Believe it or not Quasar graduated in like 5-ish years, so not much more than what Zim has currently spent as a padawan

(Yes Quasar is an overachiever, are we surprised)

I felt like drawing more of her so have lil Zim staring at a fish wondering if it and her master are related

Is this the entirety of Dead Zone Platoon? Possibly. Will I want to kill myself when I clean this up and render it digitally, most likely

I've always thought if the jedi allow people who don't like the braids to get beads instead, this is now a part of my headcanon

"Improvement"

Came down with the primal urge to draw Padawan Arty. I recently came up with a new headcanon that when he first joined, he would ALWAYS, without fail, cut off his Padawan braid. He always hated the tackiness and the feeling of one lock of hair having to be longer than the others. So, he would often express his displeasure by chopping it off, even though he knew he wasn't supposed to.

A lot of the older Jedi, especially his Jedi Crechemaster, Tsunodi (haven't drawn her yet) got a bit tired of the trend. Especially since no matter how many times they regrew the hair with special products, or kept him away from scissors, he found a way. Until eventually they decided to give him beads. Which to say the least, was an improvement :]

Aid and Hazard are characters of a friend of mine who doesn't have tumblr, but since they're apart of the Platoon during the clone wars they're also included in my drawings

The two mandos: Orange is Tranyc or Ra and green/black is Korar, they're @keep-the-socks-on-karta's characters, I just think they're neat so I draw them :D
