So uh, I have a knack for names and i felt like giving the LU Chain full length names, I'm taking Winds name from a post I made (I deleted it since I felt like I could’ve done better) Also Times name came from a friend of mine (you know who you are)  And Wilds name comes from a friend of mine who roleplays as Wild, Thought it fit well

Local insomniac and amnesiac accidentally scare the ever living daylights out of each other for completely different and very personal reasons.

I like the headcanon that the chain end up sharing and learning each other's songs! (Whether on purpose or by accident in the case of Legend here. It also ties into how Wild knows a bunch of their songs in totk!)

I started coloring and then decided not to! Anyways- Pink Link Pink Link! Wind and Legend are crafting~ Wind's making what I know from camp as a pirate's rope bracelet >:) (though the actual name of the craft is kumihimo!)

saw smth abt how eow Zelda is Aurora, but eow link is not Hyrule

and I had thoughts, so

smth happens w echo, and shes put into that stasis.

Rift continues on, unable to focus on waking her cause the world is kinda falling apart rn, yk? and he tries, he does! but he can't devote himself to it.

anyways, chain meets Rift. then Echo.

there's no recognition beyond maybe a faint bell ring for hyrule.

when echo awakes as Aurora and sees a younger Hyrule, she realises. she says nothing.

when Aurora meets the chain, she knows. she says nothing.

when Aurora meets Rift... she says nothing, but her eyes and the way she hugs him... he understands.

"That's how many times I've been offered such a ridiculous thing." 

Off to the side, seemingly from the ground, muffled laughter could be heard. A being emerged from Four's shadow. 

"Dude!" Shadow said, then almost broke into cackles, "I'm right here! Been here for a while now!"

Four Thoughts

the way the colors originally split: Red is positive emotions, Blue is negative emotions, Vio is logical hard facts intelligence, Green is nuanced people intelligence.

but that's not their entire personalities. blue is also determination :)

Yo what if their sword could kinda shapeshift for each of the colors? 

Red: Shinobu’s sword from demon slayer

Blue: Antarcticite’s sword from lotl

Vio: pure nail from hollow knight

Green: Alhaithem’s sword from genshin impact

and ofc, they also all use the base version of the sword and their other preferred weapons.

oh! oh! what if two colors piloting means dual blades?? like Lady Maria from bloodborne! or Zuko from atla!

Ancient Teyvat History

Long ago the kingdom known as Hyrule broke into the seven nations we know today. The three goddesses who rule over Celestia– Din, Nayru, and Farore– created the Archons. Semi-immortal beings granted a seat on the elemental thrones, and a Gnosis to rule their nations with.

Anemo, Geo Electro, Dendro, Hydro, Pyro, and Cryo. Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, and Snezhnaya.

Now, the Triforce is still present in our current world, but it has faded. Perhaps been hidden, if you will. Gannon is no longer a threat. The sacred name of Zelda is not passed down, as the royal family is no longer about. The Hero needs not arise. We unfortunately do not have much information on The Heros, no names, no mention of family or home have been mentioned in the records. But it is undeniable the link they have to the Triforce of courage, their adventures forever remembered.

Memory is Overrated

The heros were fighting a group of monsters. What else was new? Wild was cursed by a wizrobe. Oh right, that's new. Wild was cursed by a wizrobe! No one knows what the curse was, but Wilds' scars are now fresh-ish burn wounds, and he's a bit shorter. Maybe it was a de-aging spell? But those usually make one a child, and not... well, whatever age wild is physically at the moment.

he woke up to noises. He wasn't sure what they were, where they came from, or what they meant, all he knew was that he could hear them. He felt like there were other Hylians around him. How did he know they were Hylians? Was that normal? How is he able to tell? Was he supposed to know about them? He didn't know, so he simply took to observing the black void with shiny white dots and green around the edges. He soon started to count the shiny dots. What's counting? How'd he know how to do it? After a while it seemed the counting could not continue and he took to just observing once more.

"Oh hey, you're up." A hylian with brown hair popped into his view and made weird noises. Why was it making those noises? He stared at the Hylian in confusion. Why is he doing that? Is that what one does when confused? Make a facial expression to convey that feeling?

"You ok, Wild?" More noises, different from the last set of noises, but still incomprehensible. He continued to stare in confusion.

"Hey twilight, can you come over here?" The hylian turned its head in a different direction. Were the noises for communication? Another brown haired hylian approached. Did all hylians have brown hair? The two made quieter noises to eachother. Did volume have a meaning?

"Hey cub? Can you hear me?" Just like with the other hylian, he stared in confusion. Was he supposed to understand the noises? They seemed to be directed towards him.

"His ear twitched, he can hear me, but doesn't seem to understand me."

The second hylian turned to the first. There was a look of regret in his eyes. How'd he know that? What's regret?

wild's scars look like fresh-ish burns. He's a bit shorter. Left eye is glowing sheika blue (there's a scar across it). He has a few, vague memories of the champions and knight training. He remembers some speech and like, five half recipes. So, basically, the gang must now take care of a mostly feral Wild.

found this while cleaning out my notes, dunno how nor when i made this beauty.

"Heads up!" a voice yelled, causing all eight of them to look up towards the cloaked figure in a tree. An arrow embedded itself between a bokoblin's eyes, effectively killing it. The mysterious hylian then jumped down, landing on another bokoblin, crushing it, and immediately moved to engulf a moblin in flames. In less than a minute, the remaining monsters were all dead. 

This was the first hylian they'd seen since arriving in this desolate Hyrule.

"Y’all good? No injuries?" Closer up they could see a freckled nose and a small grin, but the shadow of the cloak’s hood covered the strangers eyes. 

"Other than a few bruises and scrapes, nope." Time answered for the group.

"Neat. Have some chunks- just in case." the stranger said, tossing a bag over to him. "Crush them in your hand and sprinkle it over injuries. Or just eat 'em. Whichever is easier." Having said that, he turned and left to pluck his arrow from the bokoblin.

"Hey wait, what's your name? Where's the nearest town? We haven't seen anyone for ages!" Wind rushed to get it all out before the stranger could leave. He turned around, putting the arrow back in his quiver. 

"The name's Fay. And I think the nearest town is about two days to the south."

Link, who goes by Fay nowadays, would very much like to go home, re-bandage his leg, and go to sleep. Alas, sleep is unavailable, as he needs to stop the deaths of some odd travelers who somehow have no clue where they are. Isn't it common sense to only go on these types of roads if you’re well prepared and know what you're doing? Apparently not. 

He finally shook them off after giving directions to the nearest town and heading in the opposite direction. Or so he thought…

Three days later, he came across another monster camp. That wasn’t unusual. The monsters were a bit tougher and had black blood. That was unusual. Fay defeated them all the same with a sword, fire, and some lightning. 

Which was when the odd group showed up. Again. 

"Hello again! I thought you went a different direction than us." the white-caped one spoke up. 

"You weren't following us, were you?" the blue-scarved one asked with narrowed eyes. 

Fay flicked the black blood off his sword before sheathing it. It seemed to catch the attention of quite a few. "I was, but now I'm here. I’m a traveler.”

The one with a wolf’s pelt blinked, processing that, then glanced at the one with one eye. “We went to the village, but they wouldn't let us in. Something about eyes?”

Fay shrugged, “It happens. People are often spread thin on resources and wary of newcomers. The eyes of Ganon are everywhere after all.”

Before any of them could reply he tilted his head, starting to feel a strange tug on his magic. A dark purple and black portal opened beneath their feet, slurping them all up.

Chunks/ කෑලි (kǣli): crystalized fairy dust. It has a similar Mohs to chalk. The fairies don't have to leave their fountains spending days in a bottle, and hylians don't have to spare precious resources. "Why can't you just eat the chunks? Isn't that the obviously easier option?" you may ask. Well, if you eat the chunk, the effect will be equally spread about. The chunk doesn't know what the fuck you want it to do. if you crush and sprinkle it over an injury, the effects will be stronger and targeted to that one area.

LU Hyrule Head Cannons

the brain adores fae, especially elves. so might as well yeet some hyrule head cannons into the void. :) it kinda just became an AU along the way. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hyrule is open about being a fairy. He doesn't state it explicitly though.

Dem big ‘ol irises. He hides ‘em behind an illusion. It glitches and stutters when he needs to focus on other magic tho.

Magic aura or somethin: amber when calm, pink when mad. (?)

Ayo, what if fairies’ colors represented what emotion they feel the most. :0

Maybe unreliable though, seeing as colors mean different things to different people/cultures.

And if they feel something strong enough, they’ll change color. Then turn back afterwards.

Can make anything edible, can eat anything. Doesn't mean it's appetizing.

Cloak idea: dramatic hood :), and/or high collar?

 goes fully around the body, but can fold back. Like- clasps on the inside and inner edge that when put together, it kinda drapes over his shoulders and folds inwards behind him. Dark leather-brown w/ gold stitching.

still shocked i knocked this out in just a month- APPARENTLY its been over 4 years since i last did a complex nature scene, pretty content with the results though! :D

also liked the idea of four only having the earring bead while shrunk,,, i have Thoughts and Opinions on how this could relate to him being just shrunken during his adventure, but being functionally a minish while small now (gotta love a willingness to mess around with magic you THINK you understand)

EARS!! hyrules look like the edge of a leaf, think it works good enough for the part fae ideas im plagued by (he also gets lil claws, as a treat)

the filter selection on my drawing app is a bit wonky and i gotta say: hyrules hair kept turning Bright Orange, i dont even want to know

100% forgot that trying to juggle this many shades of green is its own kind of circus- but the bright green glow?? SO much fun, definitely not used to drawing multiple light sources but RAHHHHHH getting to do harsh lighting again was a treat

normally i just work on whatever i whimsy, but for once in my life i actually want to see all these through = decision paralysis!! woo!!

hesitant to post wips since theyre all in dire need of cleanup, but if theres any yall want to see finished sooner rather than never, please let me know ! :3 complexity/time sink varies but i will not lie, some of these have the potential to be just as insane as game night or fireball

physically GRIPPING onto any motivation i can scrounge up to finish all these wip lu pieces ive got rolling around- but I WIN AGAINST MY BRAIN AGAIN!! this one has been gathering dust for 9 months,,, theres still more,,,

i still need to play albw for Research Purposes (one of my aus,,,) but ive always found the wall merge mechanic to be really neat :) i just think its cool :) and then i got ideas beamed into my skull HELP- the amount of trial and error it took to mimic the painting texture,,,, never again,,, (lying liar who lies)

Game Night: CHAIN ATTACK!!!

i am,,, withering away but ITS DONE ITS DONE IM FREE FROM THE CURSE (<<< still haunted by wips) clocking in at 32+ hours, this sucker has been getting pushed around for 10 months-

while theres some things i would have done differently if i could redo this from scratch, i still had a BLAST cramming in as much detail as i could tolerate >:) some highlights / cut ideas / ramblings are below the cut, but please zoom for details! (if tumblr doesnt shred it to bits)

gonna be real i locked so hard onto drawing ripped jeans that i forgot i could have just shoved legend into a skirt and called it a day

SOCKS. SOCKS. the amount of Joy anytime i figured out how to personalize them with game references: legend (hibiscus), twilight (ordon goats), and four (force gems)

i WAS going to put time in a turtleneck, but had an epiphany and started digging for the most obnoxious hawaiian shirts i could find,,, ft. a sea flower (wind waker) and a saturation boosted plumm (twilight princess)!

yeah so warriors got the sweater instead of the skintight shirt, sorry gang

speaking of if i ever say im going to draw a cableknit sweater again, somebody PLEASE shake some sense into me- warriors sweater was a NIGHTMARE since my art program has an astonishing lack of good brushes (and yet here i am still using it)

MOST of the text has been modified using the twilight princess cipher because yeah. i was procrastinating shading. also the other ciphers were in japanese- times shirt is cropped, but reads "its 5 oclock somewhere"

hyrule :D embroidery on his sweatpants because i was struck by whimsy- also i 100% thought his shield was purple tinted for weeks while drawing this because the page i used as reference was set at night, and i was originally basing his sweater on his shield- scrapped the cross pattern after several failed attempts but kept the color ^^

the chips are bbq because im biased (reads "crisps" in twilight princess cipher for no real reason except whimsy)

bless my dearest homie for game reccs because the og plan was to have them all be loz games! titles include wii sports resort, elebits, super mario party, smash bros ultimate, just dance 2016 (its box art is colorful ok), and myth makers orbs of doom (I HATE THIS GAME WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING, as i should, anyways i should play it again). four is suggesting orbs of doom, buddy aint even playing,,,

kinda was hoping to play around with hair colors and skin tones a bit more, but again, see the hour count- ill get em next time surely,,, also blue vs violet eyes for legend already had me in decision paralysis

the whole gang was gonna have friendship bracelets with color combos based on dynamics i found neat but oops! didnt finish the layer :')

also heya, first LU post! im,,, so normal about these guys (lies- ive been thinking So Hard for nearly a year, unsupervised)

A lot more people liked my Mer-Legend concept/sketch thingy than what I thought, so here’s a progress report, since I haven’t actually finished:

And to distract you all from the fact that I haven’t actually done that much progress, here’s some fun facts that I learned about the Zelda franchise.

Legend found a temple, believed to be a grave, called The Temple of the Four Sword, where Legend had to fight four dark Links, all color coordinated too. Wonder what that’s about. Apparently the purple one is the hardest fight of the four.

There is Zelda game that crossover with Crypt of NecroDancer called Candence of Hyrule, making it a rhythm based game.

Wind and Time show up in Warrior’s timeline for his “adventure” (in quotation marks because it was a full on war). Here’s some other characters that showed up: Shiek (Time), Daruina (Time), Princess Ruto (Time), Midna (Twilight), Fi (it’s Fi, like), Marin (Legend), Medli (Wind), Ravio (Legend), Tetra (Wind), and Skull Kid (Time)

There’s a girl in Warrior’s timeline named Linkle. Fanfic seems to suggest she’s Warrior’s sister/twin, but I couldn’t find anything about that, so…

One of Legend’s adventures was getting stranded in an island named Koholint after his raft got stuck in a storm (where he was struck by lightning), and the actual adventure was waking up this fish god per the islanders’ request. Upon waking up the fish you learn that the entire adventure was a dream created by the fish and that none of it (expect the storm) was real. In this dream Legend was saved by a girl who wished to become a seagull, and who Legend fell in love with. Her name was Marin. Warriors should probably mention to him that she’s alive somewhere.

Legend is apparently Zelda’s sibling. His timeline believes that boys born into the royal family are bad luck and taint the goddess magic, which is why the family is cursed to have boys with incredibly bright colored hair, makes them easy to hunt. It’s why Legend has pink hair.

In the topic of Legend and curses, during his first adventure a wizard had taken over Hyrule, imprisoning Zelda and brainwashing the knights into believing that Legend was a traitor to the crown.

There was another game in Wind’s time line involving trains. I don’t know if the protag Link is still Wind, just later in life, a completely unrelated Link that came way after time (with their homes being a new Hyrule built by Wind and Tetra (lowkey seems more possible)) or if the whole thing was another dream adventure created by fish god. A comment cleared it up. This Link (Spirit) is new and years after Wind but Jojo likely fused the two to bring the number down.

Wind can also, apparently, see dead people. Or he has a sword that allows him to see dead people. Still unclear on that too.

So, I’ve gotten really into Linked Universe (which is funny cause i’ve never once consumed any of the actual medias) and while reading fanfic I found out that apparently Legend has a suit that turns him into a mermaid? So I ran with it.

Ignore how messy the sketch is and tell me which one of the two looks the best, plz. My sister is zero help

Have you drank enough water? It can really help your body and mind feeling well! Also, remember to get enough sleep, did you know underground rooms are often the freshest in the house? I can assure you there's at least a 2F difference between my basement and my ground floor. It really makes a difference in hot days!

What have you been working on lately? Would you like to show me a wip, or describe it? I'm sure it'll turn out amazing, even if you now think it's nowhere near good!

You know what's funny? I got this ask on my last day of class, as I was in the airport to fly home for my semester break. Now that I turned in my last exam- my college Summer Semester of over! Woo Woo! To be honest, I've been very busy with college work- I go back for the fall semester in two and a half weeks. XD -I've definitely not been drinking enough water, but I've been trying my best. -Sleep is for the weak! As an Animation student, sleep doesn't exist! -I've been living in a dorm- which does NOT in fact have air conditioning for the past few months... I'm used to the heat. It doesn't even reach 70F there often enough so it's not terrible. Normally stays in the 60s (F). I'm home now, so the warm weather is actually super nice to experience, and what do you know? We have air conditioning! What have I been working on recently? (Insert canceled LU MAP part gif)

Well, other than some class work... I did a bit of ArtFight, as I do every year, it was my fourth year this time around! I couldn't accomplish much because I was so busy though. :( I finished up my animation exam, have I told you how much I hate After Effects? I hate it even more than Photoshop, and that's saying something. Haha. (Here's that film: thanks @snowcapmt , for aiding me with it!)

This was a RUSH work, I only had four days to do it (inbetween classes), and one of those days was spent traveling across the country home! I worked on it in the airport! I really wish I had time to make it more polished. *sobs* (Me in the airport)

I've been trying to catch up on some art requests in my ask box, trust me. I'll get to more of them soon. :D I should have some time to work on some LU related content... Have I mentioned I'm an artist in the upcoming Zelda Zine? Look forward to that! Anyhow, thanks for asking, and with such great timing too. lol. -Noir
