hello! out of curiosity, would it be possible for a witch with healing magic to let Hunter, i don’t know, bite a part of their hand off, and then just regenerate it with their magic? i’m not sure if that would defeat the plot of the au as Hunter would freely be able to chomp on someone, haha!

Actually they can! However it’s incredibly limiting. This method would only allow Hunter to get surface level meat. He also need organs, deep tissue, bone, ect. Also while healing magic can do all sorts of wonders and I’m sure could regenerate limbs and flesh depending on how talented the healer is. I doubt they would find someone genuine that’s would be willing to do such a thing and at a frequent rate, especially when he starts eating more and actually developing healthy eating habits. I’m sure one of his family members would be happy to do this but Hunter would never allow it. Id imagine it also be a much longer medical procedure than him simply being able to bite chunks out since that would literally him mutilating someone alive lol, even with the help of numbing or pain relief potions.
The amount of food shown would have been perfect for Hunter a few years ago but now with lots of love and healthy habits being put upon him, it’s no longer sustainable. But what healing witches can provide is blood!
Blood is a good alternative for when he’s unable to have meat so I’d imagine he’d be pretty stocked up on it. He gets frequent refills on blood, it’s also slightly more socially acceptable to have as I’d imagine blood being a regular part of some demons and those suffering from vampirism diets. I’d think most people would assume Hunter is a vampire if they don’t know about the grimwalker situation. So he takes blood bags with him on the go as food.
Of course he needs actual food and lots of it as he’s pretty malnourished and has lots of catching up to do. As well as developing healthy eating habits.
He eventually gets a pass that allows him to eat bits of bodies that aren’t being used, that where donated. So if a bunch of healer students are dissecting a cadaver, Hunter is cleanup. Or if organs are given for a transplant, Hunter could eat what wasn’t used. Obviously this disturbs Hunter but it’s better than going feral and attacking people. Of course it was a bit difficult to obtain pass but with the right strings pulled and some light threats, he was able to get it.
All these images are post canon in the Au. For the amount of pain and suffering inflected upon Hunter for the majority of this Au, I do want him to have a happy ending. While there are tragic alternatives, him having a happy ending was always my intention. While it be more difficult to reach than in canon, he gets there eventually :3

Is needing raw meat and blood the only traits hunter has in this AU? or does he have others?
Nope, our boy developed increased senses like better smell, hearing and eyesight. One big difference between Hunter and the other witches is that his ears are constantly moving, detecting every little sound and are more emotive in general. It’s cute if not odd to the other witches.
One clear difference is his teeth. While witches can have fangs, Hunter chompers are absolute killers compared to theirs. His canines jut outwards a bit to stab into his prey and hook his teeth under their skin, making it impossible to escape without causing excessive bleeding. His later incisor and first molar are sharp to tear into meat better. The rest molars are relatively normal if not a bit sharper than usual. He does have an extremely strong jaw that can break through bone, fun when eating jaw breakers but also means if he gets you, he ain’t letting go without at least a piece of you with him.
His biggest differences are in the inside with his digestive system with developing a smaller intestine, colon and cecum making it difficult to get any sort of nutrients from normal food. He found that outside of raw meat and blood, raw eggs and certain dairy products are fairly good. (Fish too but that’s included in meat)
Eyes constricting happened during hunting since it’s a way to protect the eyes if sun is out. Basically the pupil and iris getting really small.(it also makes him look a bit scary)
Their some other grimwalker head canons thrown in here like immunity to the heat like boiling rain and fire, lack of pulse, stone lungs when sleeping, and being able to hold his breathe for a really long time. This is all to build Grimwalkers to be super predators in a way, something for witches to fear. heheh they’re kinda like cats.

She can definitely eat more than him but he’s very good at hunting them (it’s in his name)
Once we start approaching the post canon of this AU, Eda and Hunter bond quite well together. Since both of them deal with curses or curse-like (in Hunters case) things that in many ways ruined their lives. (Belos told Hunter he was cursed)
Eda is big advocate for Hunter and often the one to talk to him about being a “monster” considering she was labeled as one for so long. She helps make that deep rooted shame go away for a bit and often gives him moments of where he can embrace that side of himself just for a moment.
Voles and other animals are like the equivalent of drinking a cup of juice when hungry for Hunter, it does help a bit but it isn’t actually food and he’ll be hungry again in an hour. While normal cooked food is like water, at least the juice has some sugar and vitamins.

Do you mean music as inspiration for art or what songs I listen to? I’ll answer both.
Songs that are more intense or darker subjects result in more “edgy” drawings while more happy songs that are more positive result in my more cute or wholesome art. It also depends on tone, that matters . The boiling rain drawing I was listening to stuff like set it off or get scared which are the typical early mid internet edgy songs like ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’ or ‘sarcasm’ which resulted in a drawing I would’ve seen in deviantart or in a edgy 10 year old YouTube animation lowkey. That drawing made me laugh since it seemed over the top.
But it works when working in a Au with an angsty teen.
Though I don’t really associate Hunter with those songs because he’s not like that but that doesn’t really matter because when you have an obsession, you manage to put your blorbo through every song you listen to. It’s kinda funny.
Songs really do matter when drawing I think because it greatly affects what I’m going for. When listening to the emo bangers, my art style came out a bit anime-ish, while in a WIP I’m working on, the song Skeleton appreciation is the inspo so it’s going to a more depressing piece. Despite these both being more dark songs the tones are different which result in a different drawings, I often put songs on loop on certain drawings since a lot of my ideas stem from the media I consume, like music. I also imagine animatics which I may make in the future.
I have my own songs I associate different things with. For the late redemption Au it’s bands like Set it off, Get scared, Evanesence, MCR, ect. Not necessarily because I think the songs match him but because the frequent angry and hateful tones of the songs do. Like the lyrics aren’t exact but the rage is still the same if that makes sense.
Here some more songs of the songs i remember listening to during some of Late redemptions drawings. Everybody’s fool, going under by Evanescence. Evil people, Wolf in sheep’s clothing, Punching bag by set it off. Sarcasm, Don’t you dare forget the sun, keep myself alive by Get scared. Dead, house of wolves, Kill all your friends by MCR and others more. I might make a list of songs in the future.
Anywho, media affects the kinda of stuff you produce, my recent streak of consuming Horror and dark comedy movies has recently produced my new Au that’s just Hunter consuming flesh because of grimwalker biology. So yeah.
I definitely encourage people to consume media in all sorts of forms, books, movies, shows, music, ect. Not because it’s good to have a range of things but because it gives you more idea of what to put your faves through. My wise words

hey, i've seen some of your late redemption hunter stuff, but i don't really want to go looking through your whole blog for every little detail about it. could you give the basic outline of it and some further reading materials? It looks really cool!
Sure! I’ve been planning on making a master list to pin. There isn’t much right now yet, only a few post under the late redemption Au tag so going through it shouldn’t be long but the basics of it is that if Hunter stayed loyal to Belos till his death in watching and dreaming and the events that led it to be that way to what happened after.
Question about your late redemption arc Hunter, how did the redemption of his finally started? Did they just capture him for it to start or did he came to them on his own?
Also I love all your aus and headcanons of Hunter! Have you ever thought about writing a fic about your late redemption Hunter?
There’s different scenarios but here’s what I put in regards of how this would play out post watching and dreaming.
After the death of Belos he would be the run for a bit but unfortunately thats pretty difficult when the most of the BI thinks you where a accomplice in mass genocide. He eventually get captured because in the end to the day he’s just one person against the whole world.
He placed on trial alongside the other coven heads who weren’t involved in the rebellion (Terra, Adrain, even Kiki, ect) So it’s a pretty messy court case, all of this with all sorts of people being involved like owl house gang, Lilith, the rebellion, coven heads, jury’s, lawyers, judges ect. It’s chaos
He’s able to hold up a bit, being decently versed in law and politics but crumbles when theres just too many accusations and heavy charges dropped on him for things he didn’t even do. (Like attempted genocide) Since people are essentially trying punish him for Belos crimes. Thankfully he does have people defending him in the form of the rebellion and owl gang where apparent abuse in revealed. Luz advocated and got the others to do so. It doesn’t help the fact that he’s underage and so heavily sheltered
Eventually he’s let go with the order that he must be under supervision and isn’t allowed to have his artificial staff.
He despises it but slowly but surely starts coming around when he realizes he isn’t a prisoner and from there he builds bonds with different characters like Luz and flapjack (who lives)
So he was kinda forcefully adopted by the owl gang
Of course this isn’t set in stone and can change as this story is still being fleshed out but court room fics are a weakness of mine,

Okay regarding your late redemption au: so I know Hunter did not take a trip into Belos mind. So what does he know regarding all that? Like does he know he is a grimwalker? How much in the dark is this boi?
He is deep in the dark I fear. He discovers it himself when he finds Belos lab or study at some point post kings tide. Belos and Hunter stick together for some time after kings tide so this would be during a little retrieval mission for Belos. He would be denial and shock until he’s forced to confront it all.
Neither of them make it to the human realm.
Im still fleshing the story out so maybe this will change but this is what I got for now

YES, so many ideas flood my head. Hunter no leaving the Emperor drives me crazy because it could have easily happened if he didn’t have any companionship from Flapjack or meet Luz or anything like that, and not many people talk about that! The baby grimwalker is just fluff that I love. Accidental baby acquisition is a weakness of mine and will have content for as long as I crave fluff.

Hollow mind doesn’t really happened, the coven heads don’t go into Belos head and Luz and Hunter don’t get trapped. There’s a bit of a “fight” between Luz and Hunter. Hunter and some scouts he calls prevent the spell from ever happening. This time slot in the Au mainly serves to get Belos a bit more trusting of Hunter actually, some information slips out of him to Hunter which raises a bit of questioning. A seed for some distrust you might say. The hexside students don’t know about the sigils, Luz finds out from the rebellion and tells her friends and like that word spreads out, though as scary rumors that create paranoia. The Phillip situation is found out during kings tide where Belos has Kikimora capture Luz in an attempt to “save” her

hello again! i need to tell you that i've reread YLTS so often that i've begun dreaming about the story LMAO especially since the second chapter has art. I just rememebred that Chopper left some of Luffy's meds behind and Usopp made a sign, but aaaa the fire that Luffy came back to (that Sabo maybe set?????) might have burned up that sign and now I'm all wobbly-eyed again haha

Zoro has given his life and soul to Luffy frfr 😭. Low key I can't imagine Zoro in a relationship with anyone else bc they would be second place to Luffy at the end of the day.
This post literally sums up my entire opinion on Zolu. I'm fine with Zoro being shipped with other people. It's just not my cup of tea, and people can enjoy whatever they like as long as they aren't harming anyone!

I was talking to a friend about this - I really like the idea of Zosan if both of them agreed that Luffy is priority number one. If they were in a life-or-death scenario, they're saving Luffy - not each other. I LOVE ANGST LIKE THAT
