it honestly feels like people who hate furries and therians
1- dont do their research and just go from word of mouth to word of mouth (god i hate mob mentality)
2- dont accept difference or being unique and want to stick to the 'normal' steryotype that everyone is forced apon
3- think people need consent for looking at you apparently..?
4- think everyone in the community obsessed with sex/sexual things/kinks and never a minor (the person in the video looked about teenage age, just a bit lanky and most likley a minor themselves.)
5- goes all 'k.'/one word mode when theyve been corrected for some reason instead of accepting theyre wrong (though most people do that- i know i have a few times, and its a pretty bad habit people should correct as it leads to a more toxic environment and ruining relationships)

8- think that having some sort of animal as apart of your identity automatically makes you go feral and run off into the woods to never act like a human again (though i would absolutely love that, it just isnt true lolol)
9- think humans are aliens from a different planet/universe entirely and arent all related mammals that just happen to evolve sentience over millions of years
10- think its a active ravanging criminal gang of zoophiles, rapists, pedophiles, and more for some reason?? like- wouldnt furries and therians not exist if that really was the case? (plus, only the bad eggs get popular due to drama so people see the community in another light then at other times, other then that the communities are pretty quiet if you arent in them yourself.)

yes- people can sexualize you in shorts and fully clothed yes- there are people who have a fetish for bare feet and armpits yes- two is better then one, think of your trusted one as a sorta account manager or virtual bodyguard (mini yes- even wwe wrestlers have bodyguards, no need to say your tough and can 'fight them off'- trust me, adults know how to handle screaming kicking people of any age, height and weight.)
i would say your good within the whole 'location identify' thing as long as your in a big city or place with lots of individuals and away from where you actually live- ex: parks, businesses, EMPTY parking lots (cars have much more identity then you think), docks, even statues (remember the city bit though- i heavily would not do if its a town or smaller as theres much more chances of you being identified)

i'm a winged cat. now, i know for a fact there's others, but only met one who's type works similarly to mine.
basically, i'm a sapient, somewhat powerful, energy-based shapeshifty creature, that mostly turns into cat-thing with wings. no specific species, traits vary, but always a face like a housecat, long tail, and often prehensile thumbs. we get all kinds of wings, but the bird ones are most important. i'm part bird, in a dragon-like way.

also, don't go running around if you don't know the terrain is safe. falling is bad, and falling on something sharp or poisonous is worse. and even when you know there's no slopes, pits, or brambles ahead, still keep an eye on the ground. it's really easy to get caught on a root and sprain your ankle.
at the near spring and summer I'd like to remind y'all something: be careful when you go out in the woods. it means:
don't eat or touch any unfamiliar berries and mushrooms – take someone who knows or use guides. its always more interesting to explore together or play a scientist!
collect bones and feathers through a plastic bag and be sure to disinfect or boil it when you'll get home – various germs can survive even a rough winter inside of it.
you found a nest or den? oh it has cubs? great! watch and take photos from a big distance and take care to not disturb the animals! and i greatly beg – do not collect cubs or animals. the cubs are usually not as alone as you see, and if you see a wounded animal then call to rehab. you won't be able to raise or properly care for an one.
take a snack and a drink – eating things from the ground and drinking unboiled water is dangerous.
always have someone with you or at least tell someone where you are going – various dangers lurk in the woods.

One time I was walking around by myself downtown (don't remember what I was doing there lol) and was wearing one of my tails, and as I crossed the street some younger teens (probably like late middle school/early high school) started barking at me once we were on different sides of the street. I turned around and playfully was like "C'mon I literally hear that all the time, be more original!", to which they then proceeded to start meowing at me instead. Then a couple of them started apologizing for their friend's behavior, and one of them asked if it (referring to my tail) was a kink thing. "No, I just think it looks cool :)" I told them before they waved at me and walked off.
Honestly shout out to them lol, I hardly ever get negative reactions out in public with my gear but when I do it's almost always kids just trying to goof around and look cool in front their friends, and most likely aren't genuinely trying to be malicious. Never put yourself in danger or submit to harassment ofc, but also never forget that taking a second to put your guard down and just talking to someone can go a really long way.

whenever i do quads, it’s public quads becuase i don’t have a backyard, i live in an apartment complex.
i have had in depth conversations with people who reacted positively to seeing me do quads.
i have talked at length with unhoused people in full therian gear (using only my AAC no less)
i literally just waved and said hi (with gestures, bc i can’t talk) to some landscapers who were cleaning up the grass on the field i usually do quads at! they asked me how i was doing and i nodded and smiled.
it’s literally only losers on social media who are gonna shit on you. i have gotten one, irl negative reaction to someone seeing me do quads in full gear. which was immediately shut down when i smiled and waved.
in general, real life people don’t care how you’re dressed, or that you’re doing a weird sport. they care that you are kind and pleasant to them.
if they do care, being out in public and being face to face (and not hiding behind a screen) with you is gonna greatly change how they interact with you.
do whatever you want forever. no one is gonna stop you. i love you.

went to a thrift store earlier today and got this super cute collar + vintage rabies vaccination tag
im not super big on wearing collars (hate the feeling of pressure against my neck, also im not domestic lol) so i'll probably use the collar as an accessory for my pants or something, and I think i'll turn the rabies tag into an earring !! 𐂯 ‧₊˚ ⏾
Not taking into consideration the limits of modern tech or affordability, Vernids are a super good representation of what my ideal physical species transition would look like, short of just straight up shapeshifting.

When trying to envision my ideal form, the biggest obstacle Ive run into is trying to choose which kintype I'd lean into most heavily, like whether I'd want to be predominantly wildebeest or african wild dog, a pretty impossible task since prioritizing one at the expense of others would still leave me feeling incomplete.
But with Vernids, most of the core traits I'd want in a physical form remain present (digitigrade legs, paws, fur, etc.), but are still kinda shuffled around to create something new altogether. I think literally the only thing I'd change is I would probably want shorter, more canine-like ears. But otherwise if I could press a button to look like these guys I'd do it so fast.
