Imagine this:
There's 2 girls. One is very famous and the other looks really cool but isn't very well known.
The famous girl goes around copying people's looks because she likes their style. But because she's famous, she tells the person who's look she's going to copy that they have to stop dressing like that until she finds a new person to copy.
The cool girl is walking around one day and the famous girl sees her. She decides that the cool girl is going to be her new style. So little miss famous goes up to the cool girl and says “I like your style.” The cool girl assuming she's simply complimenting how she looks says “thank you”. Famous says “I'm making your style my own. So you'll need to find a new one until I find one that's more interesting.” Cool girl says “no. You can dress like me if you want but I'm gonna keep my style how it is.”
Famous gets mad and tries to force cool girl to give up her style so she can have it for herself. “It's MY style now! You have to find a different one so that it's just mine!” Famous whines.
Cool girl rolls her eyes and says ”Hear me and hear me well! You can like my style and copy it all you want, I don't mind. In fact I'm flattered you like how I look enough to want to look the same. But I'm not going to stop being me just because you want to be the only me!”
Let these thoughts I share with you give you the confidence to be yourself. And never let someone tell you to stop being yourself just because they want to be the only one like you.
