Omg I love this so much. Whenever I get the time to go on a train it’s always so nice and relaxing. You feel like you have the time to catch up on everything you ever wanted to do but couldn’t because of school, work or whatever y’all do… even if you’re with friends it’s nice because you have the time to chit chat, play games, maybe read a book, take a nap and everything else they said in this post. You don’t have the same responsibilities as you do outside because hey… you’re on a train bro (maybe not everybody sees it that way but that’s how I see it and it’s nice)

Me. I will sit on high-speed rail for fifteen hours. I’ll sit on it for days. I’ll write and read and nap and eat and then do it all over again. I’ll stare out the windows and see America from ground level and not have to drive. I’ll see the Rockies and the deserts and cornfields and the Mississippi River and your house and yours and yours too. I’ll make up stories in my head about the small towns I see as we go along. I’ll see the states I’ve yet to see because driving or flying there is a fucking slog and expensive to boot. I’ll enjoy the ride as much as the destination. And then I’ll do it all over again to come the fuck home.

Small difference but I like that if you're an artist on Tumblr, you can have a pfp that's a screenshot of your favourite character, as opposed to other social medias where there's the unspoken rule of having your pfp represent your art

I’ve been ranting about this to all of my friends and family and they always dismiss it but I think that there is something to unlock here!!!

In a world where world peace/hunger/poverty/etc was SOLVED and now the earths biggest issues are intergalactic communications and exploration… what happens to art? Or more specifically, pop culture?

My one problem with Star Trek is that no one is ever consuming contemporary media. As in media that's contemporary for their time period. Everyone is always reading old novels and practicing classical music. They study Klingon Opera or read old Cardassian mysteries. No one is ever like really into obscure Klingon Nightcore. Nobody is reading shitty Ferengi pulp novels. There's no kids media of any kind. Where is space Sesame Street or junior novels about gaining superpowers from a warp core accident? What about comic books? Nobody is playing crappy indy holodeck games. It's always some recreation of a historical battle or just lounging in a mud pit at some alien spa. Someone give me angsty Bajoran protest music. I need some rebellious teens producing the worst most cacophonous death metal techno that they recorded in an empty cargo bay. I need contemporary pop culture in Star Trek.

I’m always so confused when people say “trust the process” when they draw because doesn’t everyone??? Isn’t the joy of art in watching a hideous block of stone reveal it’s insides to you like a blooming flower??? (Lame metaphor but you get my point)

No cuz I swear thats why I love art. I love when I can just splash around on my canvas and watch it all come together like one of those weird Indian-guys-building-mud-houses-in-the-woods-with-a-full-on-swimming-pool-and-water-system videos

Anyway, if you’re a beginner artist, that’s how you get out of your comfort zone: you need to accept that art (or more specifically: drawing, in my case) doesn’t look good at first but ALWAYS does if you keep going. I swear that it does, sometimes it just takes a long time to look good tho lmao, the process takes less time when you get used to it and find shortcuts

I love the tumblr format because once you understand it, having a blog feels like feeding a plant until it becomes a little pocket garden.

As someone who doesn’t have the patience to take care of plants and other things in the same vibe, it’s nice to have something I can latch onto like this lmao
