how ab a little teaser for my au fic since im feeling like it yall.

Excerpt:

And Ponyboy just took another bite out of his apple, the taste seemingly more rotten. He looked down at it, and saw that it’s perfectly fine. He took another bite, although more aggressive. He couldn’t help but wonder that maybe his brothers didn’t want to be around him because of his mind and the rotten thoughts it brings.

Pony breathed and then checked the time. He and Johnny had to be at school within thirty minutes, but the ride there only took ten, so he decided not to worry about it too much before just finishing his breakfast in the form of an apple.

The boy got up from the chair as if he had the time and the power to mosey around all day as he walked to the kitchen to throw out the core. Pony always wondered what the deal with some fruits were. It’s always encouraged to eat fruits and vegetables, something they all learned as little kids in preschool. But only some of it. The strawberry, but not the leaves. The watermelon, but not the rind. The apple, but not the core.

Maybe Ponyboy is an overthinker, or maybe he just brought symbolism into everything, but it made him think. Why did people use earth’s resources so much, only to take what they want and leave what they can’t use? Why did people only want someone for what they can do to benefit them, but not everything when it comes down to it?

His wild thoughts were interrupted by his oldest brother handing him one of the paper bags he was putting together just minutes earlier.

“Take this Ponyboy. I decided last minute to make everyone some lunch today because someone forgot to do it last night,” Darry looked accusingly at Two-Bit who just shrugged and checked the clock before grabbing one of the bags and running, giving everyone a rushed goodbye.

Darry sighed and shook his head slightly, before giving Ponyboy his full attention. His eyes became stern as he spoke, opening Ponyboy’s backpack and putting his lunch in there before zipping it back up, “Ponyboy, you best try today, ya hear? No excuses. Now, I know you don’t want to go but you have no choice. School is required. Clear?”

As the younger met his stone cold eyes again, he tried to give a reassuring smile, but it didn’t reach his eyes. He had hoped that Darry would talk to him about something else. Maybe instead of the fact that he should try, Darry could have brought up how much he did try, and how much Darry should’ve seen it through his last straight A’s report card.

“Crystal.”

As he did so, she placed her hands firmly on his broad shoulders. “Shhhh Relax doll.” she whispered in his left ear.

“Well I uh, I did a bit of combat training with the kids and then sorted out some paperwork- ah.. fuck.” he practically moaned as Y/n pressed her thumbs between his shoulder blades. “You like that?” she whispered softly, rubbing his shoulders and back. “Fuck yess.” he groaned as she straightened out a particularly tight knot in Dick’s back. “Keep talking for me.” she said quietly.

“I- mmh- made myself some coffee before i got up here and then i hopped in the- ah- shower.” by now he was a mumbling mess, leaning his head back against her chest. She sat him back running her hands up and down his waist, her nails lightly scratching the skin.. “I want to help you relax, Dick. Will you let me help you?” she half moaned in his ear, placing a soft kiss on his neck and then his shoulder. She moved to his lap gracefully, rolling her hips a little. “God yes. Please.”
