being affectionate friends who are always touching, but when they realize their feelings for each other, they stop being so affectionate and people notice
they are always doing everything together, if one of them is somewhere the other one is not far away
always telling each other everything, sharing secrets and dreams late into the night, but suddenly their secrets become about each other and their feelings
it's their tradition to spend every holiday together, so hardly anything changes for their families when the go from friends to lovers
always teasing and playfully bantering, but once they acknowledge their deeper feelings, their jokes become more tender until they talk about it
sharing a cozy apartment as roommates, always cooking meals together and watching movies, basically living like a couple
teaming up at game nights so often, their friends joke about it
constantly texting each other funny memes and updates, after getting together, it takes a moment to get back to these easy texts
going on vacations together and all that changes is that they now pay less because they share a bed

okay fellas the book came out decades ago but I am just finding out that The Brave Little Toaster novel had a scene where animals asked them how they can tell if they're men or women and the appliances replied that they're neither
and then they say "just call us 'it'" and the animals agree and asdfghjdskalksjdhfjsk yeah that's cool
