unhinged thirty days of otherkin challenge, day 17: are you bitey?
i was going to say no, but...
i've been jokingly referring to my masks as muzzles for a while now. when i get irritated with customers at work i imagine biting them rather than, like. hitting them. i offer to bite people for my coworkers and friends.
i think it's safe to say i'm bitey.
day 16: tell me about your favorite kind of fabric… like, just in general, unrelated to your kintype(s).
i don't like anything too plush (feels bad under my nails), or anything that collects static like a bitch (obvious reasons). slippery fabrics like silk or satin are nice to touch, but feel a bit too cold right now in december.
i think my answer is in the cotton category. my flannel sheets are so warm and comfy rn, and a good cotton t-shirt is comforting and durable. everyone say "thank you, cotton"...
unhinged thirty days of otherkin challenge, day 15: how do you make your room/home/surroundings more suited to your kintype?
i have some decorations that i switch out for different seasons, and a few kintype-specific trinkets, but unfortunately i don't have the energy/space of my own to do much rn :(
my most treasured kintype-specific trinket atm is my fairy nightlight :) my little moon
i would like to get those fabric leaf vines to tape onto my bedroom ceiling. green for spring/summer, and red for the fall.
maybe one day i could get a bedroom with a mattress big enough to fashion into a proper nest with blankets and pillows and such? something to think about.
unhinged thirty days of otherkin challenge, day 14: if given a cellphone, what would your kintype do with it?
the fauns would likely think it's a very shiny, smooth rock until the screen lit up. then they'd be trying to replicate the lights until they got frustrated/bored and tossed it back wherever they found it. if the fauns remembered the phone later, they might be curious to see if the cellphone's owner would come back for it.
if sleepyhead found a cellphone, they wouldn't mess with it. they'd probably just tuck it into their pack and keep an eye and an ear out for someone missing an odd tablet.

i should be in a dormancy during winter like a reasonable organism. i think i'd really be good at dormancy.
unhinged thirty days of otherkin challenge: day 11: what's the most specific or unusual shift (if you experience them) you've experienced?
not unusual, but it's always funny when i'm feeling shifty at work. it's that "they don't know i'm x"/"there's a horse loose in the hospital" type feel.
day 12: what website is your kintype most like
mmm. tree.fm? sure.
unhinged thirty days of otherkin challenge, day 9: are you smaller or larger than a breadbox?
larger. it'd be fun to be small enough to fit in a breadbox, though, for a little while at least... as a treat.
day 10: describe the vegetation around your kintype's feet
ferns and clubmoss and wildflowers wave as we run through the brush. not everything goes unscathed, trampled by careless hooves, but the seeds, fronds, spores, and petals cling to our fur. unknowing, happily, we spread the greenery throughout the forest.

no migrating. i think we go into dormancy with the forest in the colder months. i wish i could go into dormancy in this human shape... big nap.
day 7: sleepy or awakey?
in the hottest and coldest times of the year i am. sleepy. when the weather is milder, i am awakey!

you can do so much with sticks. you can stack sticks into a pile, create art pieces, break them into pieces to hear that satisfying snap, play swords... the possibilities are endless.
you have to admire the variety of shapes, textures, and colors that leaves come in. the canopy up above casts such lovely dappled shadows on the forest floor and allows only the sweetest rays of sunlight through. effervescent.
and if you find a stick with leaves on? pick that thing up and shake it around. the weight and sound of it is delightful.

the forest, and some friends to play with <3

berries and nuts and maybe a bird's egg or a dead mouse tossed haphazardly into the crust. there's probably a sprinkle of dirt in there, a few stray leaves. no bake time needed. eat with your hands. yummy!

cold, of course! all the better to jump and splash in!

mmm... moist black soil, cakey and aromatic. maybe there's some bugs in there, maybe not!
fun thing about being a mimic is that whatever i'm into currently is reflected by my mimicry.
got into [puppet story] a few months ago - had a soft plush noodle body for a bit.
i'm watching [robot cartoons] and i expect to see seams in my joints, i'm startled by how soft and pliant my skin is.
i watch my rabbit for a while, and then i have the same twitchy nose and soft ears.
odd. but it's me <3
