On this day in 2001, Gorillaz would release their very first studio album.

With successful singles like "Clint Eastwood", "Tomorrow Comes Today", and "19-2000", a list of collaborators (like Del the Funky Homosapien, Miho Hatori, Ibrahim Ferrer, among others) and production by Dan "The Automator" Nakamura, it would go on to sell over seven million copies worldwide and pave the way for greater, long term success for Gorillaz as a band
