Thanks for the tag, @the-golden-comet!
My questions:
1. What is the most important meal of the day?
2. What drives you to succeed?
3. Have you ever gambled? (Not just with money)
Guess I’ll do Chia/Ailan. Here goes!
What is the most important meal of the day?
You’re taught in the Maidenhood to never skip a meal, but I would say Breakfast. It’s important to feed your body, especially after a night’s rest. As my mentor used to say, “take care of your body, and it will take care of you.”
What drives you to succeed?
Heh. In some ways, guilt, I suppose. I don’t need to work; I’ve got enough funds to live the rest of my life in luxury and then some. But some lives aren’t to be ignored, and… Marie, she isn’t-wasn’t- fit for the life of a Glass Maiden. That doesn’t change the fact that I killed her parents, which is why I quit. So doing Barwork, being a server… small price to pay to make sure she’s safe.
Have you ever gambled?
Oh certainly. With money, with lives: my own and others. I cheated every time, of course. What? You don’t win Gambles because you play fair.
Your questions:
1) Are you a night owl or a morning lark
2)what is/would be your favorite kind of cheese
3) whats your favorite letter?
Tagging: @agirlandherquill @the-letterbox-archives @the-ellia-west @ominous-feychild+open tag, of course
how about 4) while yapping to the one person who listens to you yap while you're driving so you can't write it down (the European mind cannot comprehend this.)
having really really good dialogue for your story but it’s either 1) in your bed in the middle of the night or 2) in the bathroom shower, so you have to wait about fifteen minutes before you can get to your notebook to jot down the ideas but by then it has dissipated and so has your entire sense of being in this universe *screeches in disintegrated*
Yeah today everyone remembers that, all the way back in Part One, Lozerief offhandedly said that Izi could render the Constitution of Zeneste completely void if he said so. I find this very amusing for several reasons.
The President is (effectively) the Emperor after she removes Iziser as Emperor.
If Iziser renders the Constitution void, the President and the two houses can write a new constitution which doesn't include the Emperor as a role, or any connection to the Hero of Life.
Furthermore, they can write the role of Vice President out entirely and hold special "elections" (mass voter fraud/suppression) and oust Lozerief, the only sane politician left, while she's isolated from the other two (three) Heroes.
This is a rather Orwellian (see 1984) take on how this will turn out, but President Sluwfa has to then convince the masses that a) this is what the Hero of Life would've wanted, and b) In Iziser, the rice farmer who became Emperor, was actually an enemy of the state the whole time. As a result, policing in Ir Nouzonif (both the city and the state) increases drastically, but (as you may already know from my previous posts,) many remain sympathetic to In Iziser, anyways.
Ok today I thought I'd share the Lozerief song:
Particularly when the rhythm solidifies somewhere around the 57 second mark, but the whole thing really. It captures her vibe immaculately, I think; both the badass side, and the yapping side. (She's a chronic yapper.)
I only say this because I start Part Four today with Lozef yapping about the Heroes' plan to retake Ir Nouzonif. I also reveal in this chapter that Lozef loved Dolgof ("Lozerief, ner zimouhes ezimouhes Dolgofenif?"/"Zimouhes, ner lougodenif zisi!") (Lozerief, did you love Dolgof?/Yes, and you're a cow (as an insult)).

Too serious!!!
things that happened to me when i was a woman in STEM:
an advisor humiliated me in front of an entire lab group because of a call I made in his place when he wouldn't reply to my e-mails for months
he later delegated part of my master's thesis work to a 19-year old male undergrad without my approval
a male scientist at a NASA conference looked me up and down and asked when i was graduating and if i was open to a job at his company. right before inquiring what my ethnicity was because i "looked exotic"
a random male member of the public began talking over me and my female advisor, an oceanographer with a pHD and decades of experience, saying he knew more about oceanography than us
things that have happened to me since becoming a man in STEM:
being asked consistently for advice on projects despite being completely new to a position
male colleagues approaching me to drop candid information regarding our partners / higher ups that I was not privy to before
lenience toward my work in a way I haven't experienced before. incredible understanding when I need to take time off to care for my family.
conference rooms go silent when I start talking. no side chatter. I get a baseline level of attention and focus from people that's very unfamiliar and genuinely difficult for me to wrap my head around.
like. yes some PI's will still be assholes regardless of the gender of their subordinates but, I've lived this transition. misogyny in STEM is killing women's careers, and trans men can and do experience male privilege.
Finally got my main characters in the same spot, but one's unconscious and the other one doesn't want a potentially dead body on her ship.
Like come on I'm trying to write a story here I don't have time for you to become sentient, just bring him on board and slowly fall in love already
Specifically those that use a protolanguage... please write down your sound changes before you copy-paste them! I've been struggling for several months to remember which sound changes happened from Old Ipol -> Modern Ipol and I cannot, for the life of me, find the file where I saved them. Please write them down I'm begging you.

While I plan on (eventually) setting up a website for the worldbuilding in my novel, this is still a helpful guide!
if you’re a writer or creator like me, you know how essential worldbuilding is to crafting immersive stories. whether you're working on a fantasy novel, a game, or just enjoy creating intricate worlds, having a centralized place for all your worldbuilding details is crucial. enter tumblr—a platform that’s not only great for sharing content but also for organizing and showcasing your worldbuilding efforts. here's how you can use tumblr to create your very own worldbuilding wiki.
your theme for your blog sets the tone for your world. you'll want to pick a theme that reflects the aesthetic of your world--whether its dark and gothic, bright and whimsical or something entirely unique. make sure its easy to navigate, and easy to read so visitors can find information without a hassle.
use tumblr's page feature to create dedicated sections for different aspects of your world. for instance
home page: a brief introduction about your world, its history & geography
world overview: general information about your world, its history, and geography.
cultures & races: detailed descriptions of the various cultures, races & societies in your world
magic system: if applicable, explain the rules and mechanics of your world's magic
characters: profiles of important characters, complete with backgrounds, motivations, and relationships
tags are essential for keeping your content organized. develop a tagging system that categorizes your posts effectively. some useful tags might include:
#worldbuilding
#lore
#characters
#magic
#maps
#history
#cultures
keep your worldbuilding wiki active by regularly posting new content. this can include detailed write-ups of specific locations, character backstories, snippets of history, or even concept art. use a queue to ensure you have a steady stream of content even during busy periods.
to make your wiki more user-friendly, include links within your posts that direct readers to related content. for example, if you mention a character in a post about a specific location, link to that character’s profile. this cross-referencing helps readers explore your world more thoroughly.
