Prompt #80

By @writingpromptsworld

Although the hero would argue that they weren’t stuck in a closet with the villain because of themself, another voice told otherwise. They had gotten both of them in this situation and now had no clue how to escape it.

The villain was awfully quiet after they both got shoved into the cramped place, their expression serious. The hero frowned to themself. They hadn't ever seen the villain like that, and when they looked closely, they could see the anxiousness written all over the villain's face.

"Uh...are you okay?" They asked tentatively, cautious as they took a step forward. The villain's face was slightly illuminated by the bulb that stood over their heads, the light dim.

The villain cleared their throat and neutralized their guise, nodding. "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" They ask, scoffing, and then looking away. "Get us out of here already, you dingus."

The hero didn't believe them. They could tell when the villain was lying, they had been fighting for years, for god's sake. And right now, they were confident the villain was hiding something. They tilted their head. "Why don't you get us out of here? I'm sure you've been crammed in places like these in your missions, no?" They question instead.

The villain just scowled in response. "No, my plans are so eloquent that I don't need to hide in these hideous closets." They said, shifting uncomfortably. And the hero was quiet for a moment before realization dawned on them. The villain was claustrophobic and was trying to play it cool.

The hero observed them for a second and then spoke up. "We'll be fine." They said gently, trying to see how the villain would react. The villain looked at them, well, more like glared.

"Fuck, just get us out of here already." They mumbled, turning away.

The hero nodded. "I will," They said, understanding the villain were silently seeking help despite being their usually grumpy self. "Can you breathe for me?" They asked a while later.

The villain, still turned away, took a deep breath in reluctantly and then let it out a second later. They repeated it a few more times and then cursed under their breath. "Thanks." They grumbled.

The hero smiled to themself. "You're welcome, Villain."

Later, the hero decided that breaking down the door was the only way to get out of the closet they were in. Oh, and they scored a date.

Prompt #70

By @writingpromptsworld

“What…so you’re just letting me escape? Just like that?” The villain questioned, suspiciously. Their eye narrowed slightly, examining the hero.

The hero shrugged, smiling. “You did say you’re not feeling too well, so I’ll let you off the hook for today.”

The villain stared in a little disbelief. “Oh…”

“What?” The hero questioned, raising an eyebrow.

“You’re being oddly nice.” The villain mused, a confused frown crossing their features.

The hero chuckled. “I can’t fight you while you’re not at your best. It wouldn’t be fair.” They offered a sweet smile.

The villain’s heart beat in their chest, staring at the hero’s smiling face. They huffed, rolling their eyes. Goddamn it, they couldn’t understand why the hero was being so soft like this.

“So I can just leave then?” The villain asked again to make sure. The hero nodded, the smile still there.

The villain stared at them for a second, controlling the urge to kiss the smile off the hero’s face. They sighed.

They left after a lingering glance at the hero.

Prompt #69

By @writingpromptsworld

“Oh, come on, you can’t be putting handcuffs on me right after we had our first kiss!” The villain whined, struggling against the metal bracelets.

The hero tightened their grip on the villain’s wrists. “Only a distraction, sweetheart.” They chuckled.

The villain rolled their eyes, scoffing. “Don’t lie. I know you liked it.” They clenched their jaw, feeling a little worked up.

“Maybe.” The hero smirked teasingly.

The villain groaned. They were so fucked. They tried again. “Not even a little?” They asked in a quieter voice, aiming to get even a bit of the hero’s soft side. But, really, they wanted to know.

The hero grinned, seeing through their words. They shrugged, not giving anything away, the grin only widening on their lips.

The villain huffed, as they were gently pushed into the back of the hero’s car. “You’re so cruel.” They mumbled, slightly pouting.

The hero got in and winked, charming as always, and took off.

Prompt #54

"So, what do you say we run away together?" The villain suggested to the hero with a grin, that was way too wide. The hero sighed. The villain had asked the same question every time they fought together. It was getting tiring. But with the way the villain was now pouting while looking at him expectantly, made it harder to say no. He was too cute.

"I-" The hero started. However, he couldn't say anything else before the villain interrupted him.

"Don't object this time. Listen, I have a plan. A. Foolproof. Plan." The villain emphasized, confidence. He crossed his arms in front of his chest, and then strolled to where the hero was standing.

"And, what plan would that be? The last time we were planning, you got too distracted and we ended up doing something entirely different. But, go ahead. Tell me." The hero muttered as the villain came face to face with him.

"How about we fake our death?" The villain whispered, his hand moving to trace along the jaw of the hero's. The hero raised his eyebrows.

"You said you had a foolproof plan. This is your plan?" The villain's fingers went down and down until they were resting on the hero's shoulders.

The villain nodded. "Yeah. We get to fool people about our deaths, so fool-proof, get it?" He chuckled at his own joke. The hero just kept his straight face. This wasn't something to joke about, honestly, what was the villain thinking? He'd never know. "And anyway, it would be pretty believable. Think about it, we could plan a fight and act like we both died during it. And then poof! we disappear. We could go to another country and get different identities. Sounds very good to me."

The hero gaped at him. Was the villain serious?! This was below believable. If anything, the hero's agency would seek him out from the depths of hell. And if they did hide their identities, it was only a matter of time before someone recognized them. It would be too dangerous and too disastrous. He was not ready to take that risk. So, he shook his head, letting himself get away from the warmth of the villain's hand, and shuffling to the window on the left.

"It's not as easy as it sounds. We can't do that. There is too much of a possibility of our lives being endangered. I can't let us get hurt. See, no one knows about this, about our secret relationship. So, how about we keep it that way for now? I'm going to retire in a few years either way." The hero said, turning around and searching for the villain's eyes who was still frowning. He went to him and put their foreheads together. "I want you to be safe, my love. I can't afford to lose you. Ever. Do you understand me?"

The villain grimaced, followed by a groan. He buried his face in the hero's neck. "But I-I can't do this anymore. It's so intolerable when the whole world is wanting to marry you and I can't tell them that you're mine. That we belong to each other and no one else. That, I love you." He confessed, kissing the hero who kissed him right back.

"I know, I know. But you don't have to worry, because I love you too. And, I would never leave you for anyone else. I would never even think about it." The hero mumbled in between the kisses. The villain brought him closer by his waist, and kissed him again, deeply.

Perhaps, someday the hero and the villain will be able to tell the world just how much they love each other. How they belong together with each other, like pieces of a puzzle.

Snippet #11

The villain scanned the gadgets that were set in front of him, tucked away in glass-paneled shelves on the wall. If you knew about how they worked, you'd know that they could make a person stronger than they are by 10 times. But if you didn't, well, good luck. They could possibly explode you if you didn't use them wisely. The villain sighed, waving his hand dismissively. He needed something better than these toys.

The last time he fought with the hero, the hero had commented that 'he should just fight with some teenagers and not waste his time', he had basically told the villain that he was too strong to be fighting with him. The villain took that very personally, and here he was. He wanted to pin the hero down there and then, if it weren't for the hero's blunt remark making him retreat away. He was still embarrassed about the whole situation. How dare the hero call him 'weak'?! He scoffed quietly, shuffling his feet to his desk.

If he wanted to take down the hero, he needed something that would amplify his powers by more than 10 times. Just as he was thinking what he could do, his sidekick appeared in the doorway, grinning.

"Hey, villain." The sidekick said, coming forward and taking the seat opposite to the villain, seemingly bouncier than usual, the villain noted. "Guess what our fellow scientist is up to? Actually, don't. He's making this new tube-like machine that amplifies your power by 100 times. A hundred times, that is totally insane. Crazy." The villain's eyes widened, that was exactly what he needed. He leaned in, curious.

"That's...that's really awesome." He tried to keep the excitement out of his voice, as he continued, "Did they tell you when it's going to be ready?"

"Oh yeah, he was planning on testing it today. I wanted to volunteer but the supervillain wants me to go a mission. So I can't, how about you?" The sidekick asked, their eyes filled with unhidden eagerness. The villain smirked lightly.

"I might as well. Volunteer, I mean." The villain internally started thinking about how the hero would react if the machine really did work, and he got stronger! The hero was surely going to be surprised, hell, even scared for his life, if it comes to it. He couldn't wait to meet the other, anticipation running wild in his veins as he stood up suddenly. The sidekick glanced up at him. "I should go pay him a visit, it's been a while."

The sidekick nodded, his head bobbing up and down.

When the villain was out of the room, he jumped and fisted a punch in the air. Oh, the hero was going to love it. Or hate it, for that matter.

Snippet #10

"Your dad's not home?" The villain questioned, an eyebrow raised at the boy standing at the doorstep of the hero's house. He looked so much like the hero, with a square face and black hair.

"No, he's out. I believe he should be back soon." The teenager said, tilting his head as he continued, "Are you his friend?" The villain chuckled.

"I'm his boyfriend." The villain responded, and the other one frowned.

"Oh. He didn't tell me he had a boyfriend." The boy looked a little suspicious, his awkwardly placed on the door handle.

"Well, I'll come back wh-," The villain cut himself off as a car came on the pavement, and stopped. The hero came out and froze in place. He glanced at the villain, and then his son, and then back to the villain. He grimaced.

"Dad!" The younger one exclaimed.

"What are you doing here?" The hero asked, shifting his feet to the villain.

"I was just-"

"Dad, you didn't tell me you had a boyfriend!" The boy cut the villain off, and the villain's lips went in a straight line, waiting for the hero to say something.

"Yeah, I’m sorry. We just started dating like 2 weeks ago. Can we go in and then I can explain?" The hero suggested, pulling his hoodie closer to himself, it was so cold. The teenage boy nodded, and the villain followed quietly. It was going to be a long night.

Snippet #9

The hero screamed in agony as the blood oozed out of his body, and into the pool of liquid beside him. His voice echoed in the empty vast sky, and then nothing. An anguished silence. And then, a thud. He fell on his back, the villain going out of his vision for a second.

As if on cue, or maybe it was just mocking him, it started raining. Heavy droplets made his eyes so heavy, he fought to open them. The villain stayed where he was, a knife dripping blood mixed with the rain, onto the wet ground. The hero's breathing slowed.

"Why." He choked, his body nearly tearing itself apart by the force it took to say that. He shivered, the coldness of the raindrops getting to him. He tried inhaling. His lungs hurt, and his heart more. The villain dropped to his knees, his eyes filling with tears. He bawled. The hero's ears rang with the noise.

"I love you, but...but I couldn't. I couldn't be better for you. Loving me comes with a price." The villain rasped, he dropped the knife and walked to the lying figure. His gaze crossed with the hero's as he continued, "This is the price." The hero's heart clenched. He had failed. Failed to change the villain. Failed to save him. Failed to save himself. Failed himself. He breathed out last time, before his body gave up.

(Not me listening to "Stalker's Tango" by Autoheart while writing this. The song goes perfectly with it though)

Prompt #52

"Dismissed, you are." The villain told his sidekick, swirling a glass stone in his hand. He thought about his previous meeting with the hero. How both of them had gotten so close to each other that they could basically smell one another's perfume. He sighed. For some reason, it was stuck on a loop since that day. What's funny is, it's almost been a week and he can't get it out of his head. Neither does he want to. It feels wrong to just…just forget about it as if it never happened.

So, the next time he found himself fighting the hero, he made sure to be as far away from the hero as possible. He tried his utmost not to get into close combat or anywhere near 4 feet of distance between them. Unfortunately, though, the hero noticed his strange behavior. The hero stopped him in mid-battle and frowned.

“What’s wrong with you, today? You’re not fighting properly, your stance is extremely wrong and you don’t seem to be paying enough attention to your attacks. You okay?” The hero breathing heavily marched toward him. His face, somewhat concerned, but bemused, shone under the high sun. The villain stepped back, still refusing- and reminding himself- not to get too close to the hero.

“Stop! Don’t come too close.” The villain groaned, his head throbbing with the heat around him. The hero’s brows knitted together, not convinced, he continued to move his feet and stopped when he was about a foot away from touching the villain.

“What?” The hero asked, licking his lips. The villain, despite himself, followed the movement of the other’s tongue. Entranced. He sighed, glancing away, not wanting to look into the hero’s eyes.

“Nothing. I’m f-fine. Just want some space.” The villain murmured, his feet shifting away from the hero, but before he could, the hero’s hand was on his wrist, restricting him.

“Are you sure you’re okay? Your face is red.” The hero said, tugging at the villain’s wrist. His lips pressed in a straight line, jaw tightened. The villain attempted to ignore him, but to his vail, the hero merely tugged him close. His body flushed against the hero’s, whilst he stared at the ground, his heart racing. “Look at me.” The villain shook his head.

The hero brought his hand up, put it under the villain my chin, and forced him to turn his head. “Did I do something wrong?”, the hero swallowed. And the villain wanted to say something because the way the hero’s voice was so gentle, made him feel wobbly.

"No, you didn't do anything wrong. Now, let go of my hand, will you?" The villain muttered, putting his hand on the hero's. The hero didn't even flinch a little, studying the villain with his big doe eyes. The villain huffed.

"Then why?" The hero asked.

"Because, I…I get this feeling when you get too close during our fights."

"Huh?”

“I like you, you idiot!” The villain exclaimed, going red in the face. His heart beating so fast, he feared it was going to stop without warning. “I’m not supposed to, goddamn it. But, I do.” The hero stood stunned, his grip loosening around the villain’s hand.

“Oh.” The hero let out. His face was set in concentration mode. “I didn’t-didn’t know.” The villain waited patiently. The hero looked him in the eyes.

"I'm sorry. I'm sure you don't like me back." The villain whispered when the hero didn't say anything. "This isn't your problem."

"What if I said I like you too?" The hero suggested, his voice calm and collected. The villain stopped.

"What?"

"I like you, too. I have liked you for like months now, but I was afraid you wouldn't like me back. And, I know we're not supposed to be romantically involved, but we can't help who we like or love, can we?" The villain smiled a little.

"Yeah."

"Yeah. Wait, can I kiss you?"

"Thought you'd never ask." The villain laughed, as he pulled the hero close and kissed him softly. The hero, hesitantly so, kissed him back. And, it was perfect. They were perfect. This was perfect. They would deal with the world around them later.

Prompt #51

"Have you seen my black hoodie? I've searched for ages, now." The villain groaned, ruffling his hair. Frustrated. The hero hid a smile, as they realized which hoodie the other one was talking about.

"Oh yeah? What does it look like?" The hero questioned, faking an innocent expression.

"The one that has Spiderman on it." The villain responded, throwing himself in one of the couches and turning the TV on. The hero chuckled quietly.

"Hmm, I think I have it." The hero smiled, and the villain spun his head around to glare at him.

"You better give it back, you little shit. It's my comfort hoodie, for fuck's sake!" The villain cried. The hero surrendered.

"Sorry, sorry. If you want comfort, I can wear it and then we could cuddle. I'll give it back after that. How does that sound?" The hero asked, grinning. The villain blushed and then nodded bashfully.

Snippet #7

(Part-1)

“Soooooo…you need my help?” The villain questioned, smugness plastered on their face. The hero had come banging on their doors at 5 in the morning, disheveled. A number of thoughts had begun to form in their mind, at the sight of the hero but they had pressed them down, and let the hero in any way. Oh, how they had fallen for the other.

“Yes, you could say so, I guess.” The hero replied, glancing around from where they were sitting on the couch opposite the villain.

"Oh, and why would I help you? What's in it for me?" The villain asked, their eyes glinting with mischief one could almost miss, but the hero saw it more clearly than ever.

Originally, the hero hadn't intended to come to the villain and beg for help. But, when the superhero told them that 'there was nothing they could do except, go to the villain for help if they wanted to take down the supervillain',they were forced to show up at the other's doorstep. They sighed and then inhaled the coffee smell that was getting stronger with every passing second. They gazed at the villain's cup, brown liquid omitting hot air into the room.

"Well, there is less competition for you when -if- we defeat the supervillain. What else would you want?" The hero explained, steadily. They suppressed the urge to yawn, as the villain sipped their coffee calmly. Cursing internally to the superhero, they waited for the villain's answer.

"While you're quite right, that there would be less competition for me. There would, however, inevitably be more enemies as well. So, my point is, I want something that would promise me a satisfactory future." The villain grinned, finishing. They put down their cup and watched the hero with anticipating eyes. For a minute, the hero stayed silent. The silence felt immense while the birds sang outside in the trees.

"And, what is that?" The hero pronounced, hesitantly, an annoyed edge lacing through their words. The villain was testing their patience on this awful morning, and they were not up for it. They should have just told the superhero to meet the villain themself, they thought. But, then again, the superhero gave them the orders, not the other way around.

"I want you to make a deal with me, that in the future, you will protect me from my dear enemies, as well as share your little secretive missions that are beneficial to me." The villain declared, confident with what they just proposed. The hero deflated. This was not what they expected, they expected something like a million dollars or entry to the city's security system. But this, this was very unpredicted.

"I get the mission part, but why would you want my protection? I mean, come on, you're the biggest criminal in the city, no one would dare to take you in a fight." The hero wondered, a bit confused. The room was quite dark, with little to no light. They could barely make out the villain's silhouette.

"Well, speak for yourself, sweetheart. You're one of the biggest and the most famous heroes of the city, of course, you'd be able to protect me if you wanted to. Every villain knows how honored you are for your missions. Some would go as far as to say they admire you, but that's beside the p-,"

"Do you admire me?" The hero interrupted, sudden curiosity making its way to them.

"I-, what?" The villain frowned, dumbfounded.

"I said, do you admire me?" The hero repeated, tilting their head. Honestly, what was going on with them? Why did they want to know? They should be finishing this ASAP and getting to their fucking bed to get a wink of sleep, they haven't slept in the last 48 hours for god's sake. But, here they were, asking the villain ridiculous questions.

"I mean, sure. Yeah." The villain said, shrugging. They picked up their coffee and started taking little sips of it. For some reason, they had begun to feel hot. This was so unexpectant of the hero, for they were always so professional. This was anything but professional, from what they could tell. And, perhaps, it was true. They always did admire the hero, just like they admired their dad, who was the superhero.

Prompt #48

CW: suggestive

“Hmmm…you look good today.” The villain purred, their eyes scanning the hero up and down.

“Wish I could say the same.” The hero started, their feet shifting from one to another, as they came forward. The villain’s eyebrows perked up, their head tilting.

"I look more than good. You just don't have a taste." The villain went on, scowling. They swirled in their chair that was placed behind the big desk. The hero chuckled.

"Oh, and you do?" The hero remarked, stopping in front of the desk, and leaning on it.

"Of course, I do. I have better taste than you." The villain faced the hero, smirking.

"Perhaps that's why you like me." The hero responded, bending themself to the villain's level. The villain inclined too, challengingly so.

"Just because I complimented you doesn't mean I like you." The villain babbled, lazily. They stared at the hero, taking in the sight of them. The hero stared back. The villain glanced away, not being able to stand the way the hero's eyes were peering into his.

"Oh, but your face says otherwise, darling." The hero whispered, and the villain forced themself to ignore just how close they were. An inch of proximity separated them. They wouldn't admit it, but they thought the hero was very hot. Their face burned with embarrassment, a blush making its way on to his cheeks.

The villain's heart raced, as the hero went on, "Did you think I haven't noticed how you've been avoiding me the past few weeks? The way your body reacts every time we touch during our fights?"

"I-..." The villain started, slowly. They gulped, their throat feeling scratchy all of a sudden. But they couldn't continue, because the hero shuffled and came around their desk, leaning from behind.

"This is your one last chance to say what you think about me before I kill you." The hero murmured in their ears.

All the times I have fallen in love with you ✧

All The Times I Have Fallen In Love With You ✧

I don't get what people mean as falling in love. They claim it as a one-time happening with an specific person. I can't relate to them, since I have fallen in love with you endless times.

One of them which I clearly remember, on a rooftop. Gray clouds wandering above us, but my life had never been so colorful.

We were laying, then you said "close your eyes", I did. "Wait for the raindrops", I waited. It was drizzling so quiet and soft, it reminded me of you. After checking if I was following the lead, you closed your eyes too.

"I like this feeling, they feel like small kisses, don't you think?" I whispered a yes, focusing on the droplets so I could understand you more. "They wash all your thoughts. We are loosing power over something so beautiful, soothing, and we just need to be quiet and breathe through it".

I relate at your words, but not exactly, though. You're enjoying the drizzle while I realize, realize, realize.

And, dear God, I started to shake, tremble, the air leaving my lungs can't be good, the goosebumps on my neck, chest, heart, then my entire world crumbles, utterly destroyed by my longing for you.

Yet I couldn't care less, indeed, I'm pleased, because that means that the previous universe where I used to be, no longer exist. In its place it's just you, and your loving smile.

The realization of my love sat heavily on my chest while I could feel you caressing my cheeks, touching my hands, even though you were far from me. Maybe you are in the droplets, soaking my mind.

"You have to promise me something" I heard you say, quick to agree. "You'll love this, and everything I have loved and will love" I remained quiet, looking at you for clarifying, and your eyes are still closed but you added, "therefore, you will love me, for what I am are all the things I love, and you will forever be with me, 'cause then I would not be just a body" you opened your eyes, "I'll be, through you, in the rain, the sky, the Sun, flowers and all I could imagine". We locked eyes, I simply agreed, then you smiled.

Although I don't move while looking at you, my pounding heart made me realize the fact that I wouldn't have minded if in that rooftop you moved a bit closer to me, to my thoughts, to my soul.

Maybe then you'll see I'm not so far of our promise.

This is an original work, please don't copy!

Any advice or opinion is appreciated ✧

Something I love about writing fantasy that includes multiple nations/kingdoms/cultures is the small character interactions between people from different places

An example from my own work is the way two people from different kingdoms drink tea. One puts the leaves in the cup and pours the hot water over it, and the other steeps the leaves in the pot. The one who has the leaves in the cup always explained it as “if someone doesn’t want tea, they can have hot water instead.” And the other kind of just, watches thinking, “this is odd, but it’s genius”

So yeah, cultural differences lead to fun character interactions

(I deal with this irl through teaching my white friends how to eat Asian food)

“I hate Valentine’s Day!”

“I don’t have a partner to share it with”

Shut. Up.

Valentine’s Day isn’t all about romance, it’s about relationships, platonic, romantic, familial, friends, any of them.

in school we gave everyone candy, or at least a card. It was fun, we enjoyed it. We were kids who could skip part of our classes to give our classmates crack for kids (sugar). It’s annoying how people think Valentine’s Day is only romance, because it’s not.

happy (early) Valentine’s Day

Intro!

Hi! I’m not revealing my actual name on here, but y’all can call me Azre! I use they/them pronouns mainly, but am fine with anything that isn’t she/her.

I enjoy theatre, acting, drawing (mostly digital), Dungeons & Dragons, writing, singing (somewhat), and language learning.

My first language is English, but I do speak some Spanish and am learning French. (If anyone wants to talk in either of those but can still talk in English I’d enjoy that!)

I can’t be the only one who does this

okay, so. I have my main wip, but it’s barely my main any more because of an AU I created of my own work.

I also make headcannons of the characters, forgetting I’m the creator.

Having multiple wips be like:

Morning: Oh, that’s a good idea for wip 1!

midday: wait, I should work on wip 2’s plot, I have ideas

afternoon: *thinking about random scenarios for wip 3*

evening: What wip is this for again? Meh, I’ll figure it out

When in doubt, stay away from the main story and think about what those other random OCs of yours can do, accidentally make an entire story for them, want to write it into its own book/series, and finally realize there’s no plot. The only reason you haven’t done anything else with them is because you don’t want to get rid of them. Writer issues.

When I say I’m writing what I really mean is I’m thinking about the prologue and second half of the plot in extreme detail before considering the idea of what happens in the beginning, coincidentally making it so I get nothing done.

Me, in reference to a D&D character: He’s just a little guy!

Normal Person: That “little guy” could easily kill you. He’s not even that short

Person I’m talking about my writing to: That’s so cool! Can I see it?

Me: the thing is…. It’s spread over ten documents that I haven’t touched in like, six months and I’ve been super focused on making the magic system work so some characters aren’t complete gods because of lucky family lineage.

Person: …

Me: And I haven’t actually started writing the plot.
