He's a special ops soldier. He's a marine. He's a sniper. He's a pilot. He's somehow in his twenties.

He's the world's greatest marksman. He can fly a plane and shoot a machine gun at the same time. He looks like a supermodel, lipstick and mascara included.

The protagonists spent three volumes just running away from him. He turned the most overpowered character in the series into Swiss-cheese. The only way to stop him is to petrify the entire planet.

He's a queer-coded villain. It's the least problematic thing about him. He slaughtered the entire main cast. At the end of the series they give him a medal.

The irony of making an ao3 account to post fence content while not making any at all is baffling to me *screams in agony*

I was giving Fence Volume 1 a re-read (ah, how far we've come) and realised that we saw Jasper right at the very beginning!

(I think it's Jasper, right? Based on the order they're introduced)

It's not really surprising but a nice detail to notice xD I wonder what they all thought when Nicholas got a scholarship to Kings Row 😄

Kou's death

He died as the selfless idiot he is, but most of the fandom is missing a part. I've seen so many people talk about Teru and Akane seeing his dead body down the well, but nobody who said this:

He was trying to kill Nene, one of his best friends, and he never would've been able to forgive himself if he succeeded. He's glad his BROTHER stopped him, that he was the one to wipe him away from the living world, even tho it was an accident

He finally understands what Hanako and Mitsuba meant by saying they want HIM, someone they trust, to exorcise them. It's hard to imagine as a living person, but as a dangerous supernatural it's as clear as day

What was Kou's best departure, was Teru's worst goodbye
