Fence headcanons (part 5):
- Nicholas has two blush settings. One is a cute dusting of pink across the cheeks, the other is an intense flushed shade of red not unlike that of a ripe strawberry (…now I need to write a 4+1 or 5+1 of Nicholas blushing).
- Nicholas can perfectly wrap any package because he worked a part time job as a gift wrapper at the mall one Christmas season. Even Seiji is impressed when Nicholas wraps his present for Coach Williams’ birthday.
- Nicholas knows how to sew and do minor alterations. You remember that duvet on Nicholas’ bed in volume one? Yeah, that’s all him. Hand-sewn patches and everything (I can definitely see a fic being born from this… Seiji noticing Nicholas fixing his ripped backpack strap during lunch or re-sewing a button that came off Eugene’s uniform before fencing practice).

Dunklaus 'head-canon' post to make up for my terrible posting habits on ao3:
Post-canon Klaus becoming obsessed with reading the paper. Violet is suspicious about this, since Klaus was never a particularly avid reader of the newspaper. He'd keep up to date on things, of course, but he wouldn't obsessively buy the paper everyday and spend entire days studying it. He also would not spend thirty minutes in front of the paper stand each morning lamenting on which one to buy as if his life was on the line at the choice he made. After months of his peculiar behaviour, she confronts him - and all he has to say is that love makes you do weird things.
Of course, this only makes her more confused, but Klaus refuses to elaborate, no matter how hard she bribes him with incentives of pretty hardcover books, opera tickets and trips to his favourite café.
It is only one month later, when she sees him jump out of his seat at the name "Quinn G.C. Damen" credited to a very well-written article in the Daily Punctilio that she realises her brother is still in love with their journalist friend that they lost many, many years ago.
Suddenly imagining Tiresias getting visions of this before/while odysseus is down in the underworld no wonder why bro sounded haunted😭

A/N: I was inspired to write this ficlet by @7-sided-dice's headcanon about the Halverton boys playing D&D :D It's a double drabble, or 200 words exactly - I was considering not doing a drabble derivative this time around, but the wordcount turned out really close to 200 anyway, and the editing and touching up always makes my writing better, so I like it xD

It was going well, Scott told himself. Sure, Van and Gian had bickered for ten minutes over whose character would be the tallest, and Sungchul had wanted more subclasses than was possible, but after a few turns they'd settled down and got into it.
Now, they were hanging on his every word as he described the scene.
"The door creaks open to reveal an old room, dust hanging thick in the air. But you can just make out a spectral figure hovering in the middle. This spirit may be here to offer information. Or mislead you to your doom."
"We could ask it about the weird tome we found," Sungchul conferred with the others.
"We should leave it alone," Gian countered. "I think it's a trap. Let's investigate the room."
But Van looked directly at Scott. "I stab the ghost!" he declared.
"You-" Scott began.
"With my sword," Van added, in case that wasn't clear.
The other two stared. Scott could feel his headache from earlier returning. "Before we do this, I just want to check, are you su-"
"Yes."
Scott suppressed a sigh and considered crumpling up his notes.
"Okay." It had been going well. "Everyone roll for initiative…"

A/N: I've played D&D twice ever - three times if you count the practice session a friend and I did to get the hang of the mechanics - but in one of those sessions, which was with a group of friends of friends, I was playing a Swashbuckler Rogue and I decided that stabbing the ghost seemed like something my character would do, so I did it xD When I was looking for ideas for Halverton chaos, it was the perfect inspiration :D

I thought about giving the fic a more "D&D-realistic" title since I'm pretty sure rolling a nat 1 on intelligence isn't a thing, and then I rationalised that it didn't have to make sense and it was better than my other ideas xD

-In my head Bobby loves watching those slice of life + action animes- maybe like spy x family and buddy daddies but i also feel like ouran high school host club would have a special place in his heart
-Although I also believe that Bobby would read the most beautiful and probably really tragic mangas ever like I can see him falling in love with the art style of Toilet Bound Hanako kun or the storyline of Your Name or like the tragic plot of the Summer Hikaru died
-Nicholas grew up watching Pokemon XYZ while Bobby adored Pokemon Sun and Moon and Eugene (or Seiji) watched Pokemon Black and white- they talk to each other and nerd out about it once they find out
-I dont know if I see Tanner as someone who would watch anime but I think it would be really funny if he watched education based ones to skip studying like Dr stone and Cells at Work and he just got really invested at some point and brought Kally in it too
-Seiji and Nicholas watch Windbreaker together (the anime not the biker manwha) (this is me projecting my fixations on fence characters if you couldnt tell) argue with the wall/j
-I feel like Terrence (the black haired guy with one eye in MLC team) has an active wattpad account he doesnt use anymore
-I feel like Sungchul is just your average student and when you get to know him you are just shocked at how many extracurriculars and sports this man does at his free time like damn how does he fit all that in his schedule
-Seiji has watched Trigun Stampede (2023) liked Knives but grew to like Vash as his favorite character (catch my drift pls)
-Nicholas can pull off a Vash cosplay for halloween please hear me out
-Nate collects cards thats the vibe im geting
-While I feel like Halverton team bonding comes at the form of dnd nights i think that Macrobertson team bonding consists of movie nights where they watch tv shows like Brooklyn 99 and Modern family
-Dante, Bobby, Nicholas and Eugene playing pokemon while chilling in Bobbys dorm with Seiji leaning on Nicholas watching him play guys hear me out
-I know that its canon that Aiden and Harvard watch classic movies with sword fighting to judge them but consider that whoever picks a movie that day chooses one with a romantic storyline that fits their relationship (even if the romantic storyline isnt the focus of the movie) so they both just sit there watching a movie where the side character happens to be pining for her childhood best friend while the main character is trying to plot against the antagonist and also they have swords
-Kyle would play competition games like Fall guys or Mario kart while Nicholas would play something like Hades for the challenge and Jesse would probably have the watermelon game and block blast on his phone lmao
-Jesse and Nicholas are the type to know like really niche stuff in totally different spectrums
(i think this might be a good time to mention that a few of the shows i mentioned I have not watched- I am just going purely off of vibes and first impressions)
