I’ve never really shipped Hal and Bruce before but after reading this issue (green lantern 2005, issue 9) I can see why people do
(do I still need to warn for spoilers if it’s been like 13 years?)
They’ve obviously hung out enough before at the manor that Hal knows about Alfred’s amazingness
Hal being upset that Bruce called him Jordan
Bruce being petty (not pictured: Bruce turning quickly so that Hal bumps his head after Hal was going on about not needing a seatbelt)
Hal bringing out Bruce’s immature side (also: inside joke)
Bonding over dead parents
Hal trying to help Bruce get over the trauma of his parent’s death (by letting him use his ring)
Bruce getting over his paranoia and accepting that Hal is back (and actually verbalising his emotions for once in his life)
I still don’t know if I ship them but either way this whole issue was so good and adorable

Date
the way Bruce is his best friend because they play together, all of those cases they solve might as well be sudoku's in the morning, the blood tests n antidotes and learning how to disinfect a wound might as well be science experiments, sparring and exercise, Dick saw it all as playing not as work. And that's why he is a workaholic in his adulthood the line between work or play and downtime is so blurry for him. That's why his arc during v2 is so heartbreaking we're seeing the destruction of all his loved ones and of the way he plays too 😔✋🏼
I need Jason stans who have never picked up a single Cass comic to shut the fuck up about Cassandra Cain for the rest of their fucking lives.
As a Green Lantern enjoyer I feel like the batlantern dynamic would be better if fics acknowledged that Alan Scott is there in Gotham and he WOULD be causing problems. Alan interrupts a date by pulling a chair up and then saying "that's not what you said about Parallax five years ago" every 2 seconds. Alan does not leave. Bruce has to call in the JSA but he gets someone else who likes to cause chaos and refuses to send help on the phone (Henry, Ted, etc).
The problem with Talia is that there’s basically two different, conflicting versions of her.
The original characterisation has her very much as someone who would do anything to protect Damian, who did yes, raise him in the league of assassins and have him taught how to kill, but when she realised she couldn’t protect him from Ra’s, sent him to live with Bruce, both to keep him safe and teach him how to be better.
The other, newer characterisation has her as someone who doesn’t care about Damian as anything other than a tool, who put a bounty on his head at one point, had Slade control his movements through spinal implants and did have him killed, (and also that weird plot line where there were a whole bunch of failed-damians).
Neither of them are necessarily good mothers, but one is definitely worse than the other. So people who consider Talia a good parent probably go from the original charaterisation.
And as op says, Bruce (for all his flaws) is definitely the better parent, no matter which version.
