Curate, connect, and discover
Just finish watching Justice League War, and I have some thoughts:
On one hand, HOLY BATLANTERN... I GET IT NOW WHY THIS IS Y'ALL HOLY GRAIL... I UNDERSTAND NOW MY BRAIN EXPANDING. I'm very giddy with all of their banters like osbkebdkd?? So cute đ, the way Hal being the first one Bruce ever took his cowl off for to share why he's helping people is so??!??!?? Amazing, absolute cinema
On another hand, I lowkey wanna kill myself with whatever they try to do with WW and superman. Like the "sexual tension" is not. Is not it. Batlantern that wasn't even the primary ship or relationship even had more sexual tension than them. I need DC TO STOP... STOP IT.
My main reason high key is how they portray Clark, like when he first meet Hal and Bruce I was kinda giggling and kicking my feet that he's acting a bit cocky, but thats the only part I like about it, the rest?? WHO IS THIS AND WHAT THEY DO TO MY SUPERMAN?????? #notmysupes
I kinda like the way they portray Diana tho, she's great in that film, my top three, I just don't like whatever the hell they trying to do to with WW and Superman, I don't like they try to push her to man gaze in general anyway like let the gurl slay and stab people COME ON
Barry, Vick and Billy is solid, I don't have much to complain about them tbh, I just have more beef with the Superman x WW they trying to do like ON GOD. Luckily Batlantern was so strong I feel less mad lmao, they so sksbdkbdkd Bruce immediately understand and get to connect with Hal?? And the part Hal put Bat in the box to protect him while he try to fight superman is HILARIOUS. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I love them, 8/10 (it's minus 2 cuz I really don't like Clark in this and WW x Supes ship, I'm sorry fellas)

hal jordan x battinson | sfw
Cw! Older Hal, Younger Bruce Wayne, romantic leaning, DC Justice League War references, slight spoilers to The Batman (2022), headcannons, suggestive content
thank you to the person who requested this. the request got lost in the cosmos :( these two are hilarious to me (especially if it's battinson in particular)
It was simple. Catch the alien that was terrorizing Gotham. Capture him and things would be fine.
Of course things could never be simple for Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern.
He meets face-to-face with Batman. He expected some older man who was all dark and brooding, which he was, but this Batman was young.
He was anxious and honestly very emo.
The younger man was irritating and always telling Hal to get out of his city. Hal was appalled because how dare he.
Batman was inexperienced.
But this was the same Batman that restored faith in Hal's self. He and Batman, or rather Bruce Wayne said they were the most normal on this team of other gods.
Hal admired the young man's stance. Despite all his broody emo behavior the bat proved to be a symbol of hope and justice.
Hal continued his teasing and the name Spooky rang heavy on his tongue, and soon it felt much more adoring than demeaning. The Batman; Bruce Wayne was a shy man who kept to himself and was learning to accommodate Hal's eccentricity.
They didn't know when it happened.
Hal found himself enamored with the younger man who was a wet kitten. His hands were suddenly tracing every mortal scar on the young man's skin.
Batman suddenly felt a surge of love he never felt before. All there was was Alfred after the death of his parents, and that pain and need for vengeance.
Then the Riddler, and now this.
Opened to the city and hope, and now this man; Green Lantern, Hal Jordan proved to be someone who wanted him the most annoying person on earth. But even so, Bruce couldn't deny this feeling for the other.
The solemn darkness of Gotham haunted Bruce like a ghost. He was the darkness, for he was vengeance and Green Lantern was the light. He was the green light across the ocean and shined brightly for Bruce to see.
Rocky. It was was. Bruce and Hal proved to be people most unlikely to become an item and they argued. Silence from the bat and irritation on the guardian's end.
Still, they ended up in the bedroom where every scar was counted and every scar was kissed with such care and gentleness. After years of being touch-starved and used to the pain Bruce cried. The last night he did it was alone after Alfred got hurt due to his actions.
Every good thing wasn't desevering of him. He wasn't deserving of it.
The Green Lantern's guilt was astronomical. For he was chosen and that belief wavered. Did he even know what he was doing? Then Hal found himself being approached with comforting words. Hesitant kisses. A pale body of scars and fear against his.
Never again would neither of them feel inferior. They were normal in the most human way.
The Batman was costume, even if Brucie was mask just as Bruce Wayne was too.
Green Lantern was the ring. Without it; Hal Jordan was all that was left.
Darkness and light together. Warping beautifully the two joined in bed. Tanned body above another with the most humorous and comforting words ever. The caressing of skin and those damn butterfly kisses.
So sweet and intoxicatingly addictive. Bruce wouldn't stand it, and he let it happen. Hal wouldn't leave him alone, ever again.
Could i seriously use this for a fic? You said in the tags that people could steal it but just wanted to ask in case :)
Listen Iâm not like a shipper but
THE FACT THAT BRUCE WAS A FAN OF GREEN LANTERN WHEN HE WAS A KID MEANS SOMETHING TO ME WHEN WEâRE TALKING ABOUT BRUCE/HAL
âŠyeah to be honest i think i destroyed with this one
Pairing: Bruce Wayne x Hal Jordan (Batlantern) Setting: Cozy café, followed by a walk in the park Tone: Soft Fluff
The café was small and cozy, tucked away on a quiet street in Gotham. The air smelled like freshly ground coffee and something faintly sweet, like cinnamon. A soft jazz tune played in the background, mixing with the chatter of the few patrons.
Bruce sat at a corner table, his usual sharpness dulled by the warm lighting and comforting atmosphere. His coffee sat in front of him, but he wasnât drinking it. Instead, he was watching Hal, who seemed entirely too excited for a simple trip to a cafĂ©.
âThis place smells like... joy,â Hal said, eyes wide as he looked around. âIâm convinced coffee beans are secretly happiness in disguise.â
Bruce didnât smile, but there was the tiniest flicker of amusement in his eyes. âYou sure itâs not the sugar?â
Hal leaned forward with a smirk. âMaybe a little bit of both.â
Bruce reached for his cup, taking a sip, and Hal watched him, eyes narrowing playfully. âYouâre really quiet today.â
Bruce sighed. âIâm not quiet. Iâm... contemplative.â
Hal snorted, causing Bruce to give him an unamused look. âIâll take that as âyes, youâre quiet.ââ
âWell,â Bruce said, glancing out the window at the soft drizzle of rain that had started outside, âI didnât think youâd be so... enthusiastic about coffee. Youâre usually more into explosions and flashy things.â
âCoffeeâs a simple pleasure,â Hal replied, leaning back in his chair. âBesides, itâs a good break from all the chaos. I donât need fireworks to enjoy something.â
Bruceâs gaze softened slightly. He hadnât expected Hal to be so... well, normal. In the middle of Gotham, in a cafĂ© with soft lighting and jazz, Bruce felt a kind of peace that didnât come often.
After a few moments, Hal was up and pulling his jacket on. âSo, I know youâre Mr. Nighttimeââ
âDonât.â
ââBut how about we take a walk through the park?â Hal finished, ignoring the glare. âThereâs a park not far from here. I promise, no giant green robots or alien invasions.â
Bruce gave him a flat look. âYou really think thatâs going to convince me?â
Hal just smiled, mischief twinkling in his eyes. âIâm betting on the fact that youâre curious enough to see what a normal date looks like.â
Bruce raised an eyebrow, his lips twitching toward a smirk. âAlright. Lead the way.â
The park was quiet, the path lit by soft streetlamps that shimmered in the rain. They walked side by side, the occasional raindrop catching in the dark strands of Halâs hair. There was a certain ease in the air, despite the worldâs usual chaos swirling around them.
Hal kicked a few leaves up, glancing at Bruce. âYou know, Iâve always imagined Gotham as... darker. More gloomy. But this place... itâs peaceful.â
Bruce nodded, his gaze on the path ahead. âSometimes you need a reminder that thereâs more to a city than crime.â
Hal glanced at him, and for the first time in what felt like ages, Bruce let his guard slip just a little. He didnât have to be Batman right now. He could just be... Bruce.
âYou know,â Hal began, looking up at the rain-soaked trees, âthis is nice. Just... us. No Green Lanterns or Bat-families. No big city problems.â
Bruce turned his head, watching Hal with a rare, genuine smile that seemed to soften the edges of his face.
âIâm glad you think so,â Bruce said quietly. âItâs been a while since Iâve just... walked.â
They continued on in silence for a while, the sound of footsteps mixing with the gentle rustle of leaves in the rain. When they reached a bench near the center of the park, Hal gestured for Bruce to sit.
âI wasnât expecting you to be so...â Hal trailed off, unsure how to finish his sentence.
âNormal?â Bruce suggested, taking a seat. âYeah. Iâm good at hiding it.â
âSometimes itâs hard to see past the cape and cowl,â Hal said softly. âBut I think I like this version of you.â
Bruce met his gaze, his voice a little quieter than usual. âI think I do too.â
Halâs hand rested on the bench beside Bruceâs, fingers almost brushing. Bruce looked down for a moment, then subtly shifted his hand so it was resting just an inch from Halâs.
âI guess weâre both full of surprises,â Bruce said, his lips quirking in the slightest smile.
Hal chuckled, looking down at their hands. âYou have no idea.â
The rain fell a little harder now, but neither of them moved to leave. Instead, they sat there, quietly sharing a moment that was simple â but in its own way, exactly what they needed.

This is for @witherby I'M RATTING YOU OUT. You guys should definitely check out their writing, it's awesome!!
Their relationship is a mix of grumpy x sunshine energy. Hal loves teasing Bruce, while Bruce pretends to be annoyed (but secretly enjoys it).
Hal constantly pushes Bruce out of his comfort zone, dragging him to spontaneous trips and adventures. Bruce acts reluctant but usually ends up having a good time.
Bruce shows his love through actionsâpatching up Hal after fights, upgrading his flight suit, or silently standing by his side after tough missions.
Hal flirts with Bruce constantly, even in front of the Justice League, just to see him roll his eyes.
When they argue, it's usually over risk-takingâBruce thinks Hal is reckless, and Hal thinks Bruce is too cautious. But they always find a middle ground.
Hal likes sneaking little green light constructsâlike hearts or winking facesâinto Bruceâs peripheral vision during League meetings, trying to break his serious facade.
Despite his stoic nature, Bruce trusts Hal with parts of himself he doesn't share with anyone else. Hal, in turn, feels grounded by Bruceâs steady presence.
They have an unspoken âno giftsâ rule for holidays, but Hal breaks it every time with something ridiculousâlike a bat-themed flight jacket or green-lantern-colored cufflinks.
Bruce pretends to hate PDA, but if someone looks at Hal the wrong way, heâll subtly pull him closer.
Late at night, after long missions, they sit on the Watchtower, looking at Earth through the observation windowsâno words needed, just quiet companionship.
